As soon as I picked the car up, the check engine light came on and the engine was noticeably louder. After checking things myself, I found the engine purge valve had been left disconnected. I'm frustrated because I went to the dealership expecting higher-quality work and thorough checks before returning the vehicle. On April 19, 2025, I brought my vehicle to Myrtle Beach Chevrolet due to a check engine light. I was told I needed a 100,000-mile service, which included spark plug replacement and a fuel injection service. I agreed and was charged nearly $900. After the service, the check engine light went off for a short time but soon began coming back intermittently, and eventually stayed on consistently. This clearly showed the underlying problem had not been fixed. When I attempted to return for service, my confirmed appointments were repeatedly canceled by the dealership -- on May 26, June 3, and again on August 29. During the last cancellation, staff even suggested I "go to O'Reilly" for diagnostics instead. Following their advice, I went to O'Reilly, where diagnostics revealed the very issues I had supposedly already paid Myrtle Beach Chevrolet to repair. A trusted independent mechanic later confirmed that the spark plugs had not been replaced and the fuel injection service had not been performed. This is not a simple oversight -- this is fraudulent billing and a serious consumer protection violation. Complete joke of a dealership and employees, along with a complete lack of professionalism. I was working with a car-buying service that handles the negotiating for me, and they set up a test drive directly with Avery at this dealership. Appointment confirmed. I show up on time and I'm immediately told Avery isn't available. Fine. I meet with Brett, who seems ready to go and get me into the car for a test drive. The second I explain I'm working with an outside service, everything changes. Suddenly, out of nowhere, he "remembers" he has another appointment and hands me off to someone else. Then I get passed to Larry, who looks like he should have hung it up a long time ago, who proceeds to tell me they don't work with outside companies. So let me get this straight--Avery had no problem setting up the appointment, but the second I walk in, it's a different story? What was the plan here--just waste my time for fun? This is either complete incompetence or straight-up shady behavior. Either way, it's a terrible way to run a business. If this is how they treat someone who's literally ready to buy a car, imagine how bad it gets once they actually have your money. Very poor experience. I was told the diagnostic would be $255, but it jumped to $765 with no clear explanation. Communication was terrible. I was told my car would be ready Monday or Tuesday, but no one called--I had to follow up myself on Friday. When I picked it up, no one explained anything, just handed me the keys. When I asked for details about the diagnosis, they couldn't even provide clear information. Yet they still charged $765 and then quoted $2,352.80 for what they said was just an injector. On July 15, 2025, I brought in my 2023 Corvette because of the check-engine light and rough shifting transmission. They kept my car for WEEKS. Not a peep from them unless I reached out every 2 weeks, to include coming in personally. Talk about the runaround. Parts on order, parts are in but the technician is on vacation, your car will be the next in line, etc. Meanwhile, my pristine car sat on their lot, exposed to the elements, for nearly TWO MONTHS!!! Finally I talked to the Service Manager on Sept 9, 2025. He seemed surprised and embarrassed, and apologized. The next day, on Sept 10, they called me to pick up my car. This was the second time I had a major issue with their service dept. The first time was a prolonged action to get reimbursed after they wrongfully charged me for a $600 service that was covered under warranty. There will not be a third time. Maybe I'm just use to Flow Chevy/Cadillac in Winston Salem NC and I've just been spoiled over the last 15 years. Poor communication or should I say hardly none from the service department. My service advisor sent me a text in which we could communicate but never once replied to my many text messages over several weeks. I would call and they would have to go check on my vehicle. One excuse after another. Charges $225 labor to install a battery. It's only a battery and doesn't take an hour. Hell Autozone replaces them free of labor and it's literally a 20 minute job max. Also truck came back filthy. So much dirt/bird poop that I had to stop at gas station to clean the windshield off to see properly. My dealer back home washes every vehicle that comes into service and even keeps you updated on repairs with a video daily. I highly suggest going to another dealer or good independent shop. We took our truck in last Saturday to get front brakes and rotors put on. $842 later. Guess we should have shopped around. Got the rear brakes and rotors done in November at our Maine dealership and only paid $478. Called my dealership back up north to get a quote on what it would cost for the front brakes and rotors to be done (after the dealership here already did the repair). Our quote was $585. Now if someone could explain why one dealership would charge over $250 more for the same parts and service. We texted Myrtle Beach Chevrolet multiple times, talked to them on the phone, sent them a copy of the quote from our northern dealership. They just chose to stop responding to us. I brought my car in on June 21 and had a scheduled appointment with detailed notes on the issues. When i brought my car in, they let me know their computer system was down and they couldn't contact my warranty company until it was back up. They did repair my car and the work done was good but i didn't pick up my car until july 22 so it did take a while. i would think corporate or management isn't supporting the crew or ordering parts. Went in to drop my car off for a standard inspection, oil change, tire rotation. Upon picking up my vehicle, I noticed a fairly large crack in my windshield. The service department was closing so I was told they would review cameras on Monday (picked up the Friday before). I call Monday to figure out what's going on. On hold for about 15 minutes before being told they were too busy to review the cameras. Are you kidding me? Cracking a customers windshield should have been priority one that morning! Anyway. Don't come to this location if you want your vehicle damaged and have absolutely zero support to get it fixed. Just take the extra drive to Jud Kuhn Chevrolet. My wife & I went to this dealership yesterday to see the new General Motors paint color, radiant red. The car Salesman was cordial and friendly. I wanted to see what the new radiant red looked like before ordering a 2023 Chevy Camaro convertible 2SS and deciding between the new color and the color red hot. The Salesman took us in to speak with the Sales Manager to see if he could assist with my request to see the new color. The sales manager was unable to locate the color and said it was not available. He also stated it could be a while before the color was released. While he was telling my wife and I this BS, my wife and I both found the new color on line with a simple search (screen shot below). Though I was hoping to see the color in person at the dealership. The Sales manager was condescending and quite an arse. Unfortunately, due to the Sales managers lack of interpersonal communication skills, I ordered my 2023 Chevy Camaro convertible from another dealer. I feel sorry for the Salesman who lost the commission on my purchase, due to a Sales Manager who definitely should not be in that position. My review keeps getting deleted from their Facebook because I used to work there over a year ago. I am not a disgruntled ex employee. Trust me, they can keep their $9/hr jobs. I make over twice as much now. But they serviced my husbands vehicle while I was employed; they vehicle started pulling and they didn't even rotate my tire. I paid for it along with an oil change. I went to check my car because the receptionist told me to because they tend to damage cars. I knew it was true since those were most of the calls that I handled while employed here. Not only did they not rotate my tires. But they curbed and scuffed my Roush rims. I went and spoke to my manager, Bonnie, she told me to speak with Jamie the service Manager. He then told me to speak with the girl who drove my car, Sam. Well she tried to show me a video of where my car was parked when I brought it in. Not where she parked it after. Because it was two completely different spots. She tried to lie and argue with me, so I said "ok well I'm going to have my husband handle it since it's ultimately his vehicle. I was told by my Manager and hour after I made the complaint that I was let go because they can't have an employee who complains about service: even though majority of the incoming calls are service complaints. If that's not the worst part. The owners son was caught in my purse going through my thyroid medicine thinking it was adderal. I am more than happy to be gone. I was on in the process of transitioning to my job now from there. Please don't stress yourself out. Conway has an amazing Chevrolet dealership and pawleys island is a bit of a drive but they are phenomenal with Cadillacs. And the customer service is top notch! Would give 0 stars if it was possible. My family has purchased 3 vehicles from this dealership within the year. $120,000 is sales - you'd think we would get the proper treatment... I take my vehicle to the service department last week for an oil change and an air conditioning issue. I had an appointment for 2:30pm and I dropped it off thinking I would get a phone call when it was ready like the employee said. It's now 6pm and I have not heard a single thing from them regarding my vehicle and the service department is now closed! No one updated me at all. We went to go pick my vehicle back up because I work full time and I need my vehicle every day and nothing was even done to it! No oil change, nothing. So you have my car for 4 hours and nothing is worked on and you guys have "no update"? Absolutely ridiculous. I take it back today for JUST an oil change hoping it wouldn't take up my entire day because I have to be at work. Had an appointment at 8:30am and of course, sat in the waiting room for 2 hours waiting for my vehicle ... FOR AN OIL CHANGE. Warranty service. Technicians unable to determine any problem low mileage vehicle with transmission and AC problems however they state nothing is wrong. I was advised on a prior service that we had one free oil change left on our warranty service but was assured it would not be an issue if it was a couple months past due to keeping low miles on the vehicle. The service tech states she spoke with the service manager-Jesse ( whom I've never met or seen) and he said if I had purchased the vehicle from him originally they would have done it but since I'm a transplant and the car was purchased elsewhere it would not be covered. Just to be clear: there is a sign flashing on the tv stating that they promise to address all your concerns. I was advised the by the service technician to tell Jesse he just made up my mind where I'm not buying my next vehicle. Very disappointed in service managers lack of customer service, and how he didn't even have the professionalism to come speak to me. All third party. Also it took over 40 minutes to get my car back because they had lost the paperwork and keys and the. Found it however never entered any notes. I honestly wish I could give 0 stars. Worst experience EVER! We were charged $800 to supposedly fix a coolant leak and our car was there for one single night. When we got it the next day, 3 pairs of sunglasses and a hunting knife were stolen from our vehicle. It took a WEEK for them to finally return any of my calls about the stolen items and all they could say was that no one had been seen near our car but they were still reviewing footage. At just over a week, they admitted the only people with access to our vehicle were the employees. No apology was ever made about how our items were stolen and at no point did the service manager, Jesse, offer any compensation for these items. Fast forward to a week later when our car starts having the SAME ISSUE it had when we dropped it off. We decided to take it somewhere else and the new mechanic said they never even fixed the problem. They did something completely unrelated and charged us for that instead. When we told the dealership, they couldn't even offer us a free service to fix their screw up and wouldn't even admit they messed up in the first place. So. If you wanna waste a bunch of money and have your things stolen, then this is the place for you. Never ever going back ever again. BY THE WAY--after trying to get answers from them for over a week, they admitted they've had multiple break ins at their service lot and I was told that they had someone actually break in and sleep in one of the cars. I set up an appointment for this Wednesday, August 23, 2023, to get the rusted seat adjusters fixed on my purchased "as new non-defective Tahoe" by my 77 year old mother. I called back and he was then with a customer. I was assured he would call back that day. HE HAS NOT CALLED YET ALONG WITH NO ONE ELSE. Think of this BEFORE you buy an automobile from them and General Motors as well. They called me when I had a BBB case going which I dropped due to other personal obligations such as taking care of my 77 year old mother who purchased the brand new, supposedly non-defective Tahoe from them. I will NOT go away and the dealership as well as General Motors have not heard the last from or of us. Service advisors never call back and when I have an appointment it goes far beyond the time of an oil change. My most recent experience was and is unacceptable engine parts were broken battery install and is currently dead and I cant get anyone to call me, I am a forgiving person but my time and money should at least get me some respect to be called back to resolve these issues. I leased a Cadillac from the dealer in 2019 and then purchased this vehicle in 2022. I only had 5500 miles on the car and I was told by this dealership they would buy my Cadillac for $35,000 and I could purchase a Chevy Trailblazer for $25,440. I waited almost 2 months for vehicle to come in. I told them I was doing this as my husband is in hospice and once he passed I would lose some income. When I went to lease the new vehicle, the salesman and sale manager told me they never quoted $35,000 but only $33,000 and that a lease for a $21,000 vehicle would cost $400 a month. After calling other dealerships, I was told the lease price should be around $277. Plus, they called me a "liar". I'm 75 years old with a dying husband and have worked as a principal in a CPA firm 35 years prior to retirement. I would never lie and have never had anyone in my entire life treat me so unkindly and with such lack of ethics. I would highly suggest any person thinking of buying or leasing a car go elsewhere. Because they sponsor the local Corvette Club I went there first and serviced my 05 Corvette there before I sold it. Old school tactics in play here. Do Not dare to speak with another customer. I was sent out by a salesman I was working with to look at a used 2014 Corvette being looked at by another couple. The other customers asked me what I thought since I was really checking it over. I opined the car was not in good shape for a 2014 Corvette with 11K miles ,It was in less than fair shape. The front seat bolster was hanging loosely ,not attached to the seat frame The Plastic protective coating on the front was poorly installed , the engine bay was very dirty. In my opinion It appeared the previous owner did not take car of this car. Not a car I would consider at any price. Their sales person berated me aloud asking me "if I was with them" and actually yelled at me for sharing what I thought. We were all surprised at this lack of professionalism. I immediately left rather than get into an argument but i did ask him "what he was afraid of"?. I was asked for an opinion. I did not volunteer it. I was shopping for the new C7 style and looking a new and used. I have GM supplier pricing which is an authorization from GM to purchase any vehicle at about 8% under MSRP ( anyone can get this pricing Join a Credit union and go the the GM discount site ) This dealer does not accept it on Corvettes, Usually only high volume Corvette dealerships accept it.Hendricks, Kerbecks, Criswells, Mac Mulkin. After reading Car and Driver's review (lunched an engine) and a few other owners engines went out and a multitude of issues with the car on the Internet Sting Ray forums,I decide not to buy the new C7 at this time. So I recently bought another late model loaded C6 3LT Convertible with 15K instead from a private seller in North Carolina (at a price $9000 less than a similar car's asking price with less options and 5K less miles at a local dealership). Amazing. I took my older 05 Corvette to this dealership to have some PAID service done on it before I sold it. When I drove up, The woman at the tower was terse and told me they were "very busy and maybe could get me in next week" Basically blew the service off. This seems to be the policy for those who did not buy cars there and needed warranty work as has been my experience in the past with an HHR I owned years ago. But I was a cash paying customer ready to drop over $1000 on service !! Other local dealers have heard the same from customers sent to them. I did find a wonderful friendly dealership in Conway (Palmetto) who were VERY accommodating. The GM said they would gladly service any car I bought whether purchased there or not. He gave me a tour of the shop and introduced me to the Service Manager who pointed out TWO Corvettes in the service bay so I know owners of these cars obviously find them capable and as a bonus their hourly rate is whopping $26 an hour LESS than MB Chevrolet. In all fairness the service department is fine. Picked up my Suburban from a recall today, and was looking to buy a Colorado. There were two on the lot that had caught my eye. After leaving service I went into sales and stood directly in the middle of the floor between a C8 Corvette and Cadillac XT for about 10 minutes as sales people walked past me and others kept their heads down in their cubicles. I was going to walk out, but as a last try went up to a receptionist and asked if there was someone who can show me a car. So after a good 15 minutes or more of waiting a guy finally came up, but clearly didn't want to be bothered. Thank God for Becki she came back and got us set up for am service. We took an Uber back to our resort. I dropped off my Tahoe there before to get some body work and a full inspection. At that time they told me I'd have my car back in 3 days. A month later I get my car back. Now 2 months later my car is leaking brake fluid and having other issues and they can't even guarantee me a time they can get it fixed in. When I woke up that morning, I had a flat tire and called OnStar. They in turn reached out to AAA Roadside Assistance to take care of the problem, which they did. The guy from AAA Roadside Assistance inflated the tire and worked on it for about 30 minutes to try and find out the problem, to no avail. He recommended that I go to my car dealer to have this looked at. I showed up at Myrtle Beach Chevrolet around 11:45 and they promptly brought my car in for further inspection. They tried for two hours to find out what was wrong, but the tire seemed fine, so they suggested that I either have them take the tire off, or just leave it as is, in which case they would keep the "ticket" open. I chose to leave and hope for the best. Everyone was very courteous and helpful as always. read more
