This our favorite RV park! Two blocks from the main drag through Myrtle Beach, but it feels like you are out in a Forrest. Mainly because you kind of are. We loved our stay at the Myrtle beach KOA! They had last minute reservations available which was nice as we were doing a road trip and stopping in Myrtle beach unexpectedly. The campsites are huge and include a grill, fire pit, and a picnic table. The amenities are so fun...they have a pool, concession stand, bouncy balloon, laundry, game room, covered eating areas, and bathrooms (CLEAN bathrooms!). This KOA has the cleanest bathrooms ever with private shower rooms. Its a convenient location, about 10 minute walk to the beach. They do have a beach shuttle however we didn't use it. The entire campground is very family friendly and we felt very safe camping here. read more

The worst by far, KOA I have stayed at. They assured us the shuttle to the beach would be hourly. We waiting for over 45 minutes in 95-degree weather. We eventually had to walk back to the "resort" (if you can call it that) which took us 20 minutes due to my husband having a bad knee. We had informed the staff of his issues, and she assured us, "A shuttle will be here every hour on the hour". Really? Nope!! The staff told us to take advantage of their complimentary breakfast. When we went into the camp store to "take advantage" there was only coffee available. This was before we were ready to head home, about 9 am. People riding around in their golf cart with the music blaring. It was rude and uncalled for and past the quiet hours (after 11 am). Never again!! read more

This was a very well maintained KOA- walking distance to the beach. We stayed for a week with 3 children (17,13,&5) there was always something going on ... no one ever said they were bored. Walking distance to a beach souvenir store. Camp store was stocked with just the right stuff. The pool was nice and my son enjoyed the water park play area. Everyone took a turn on the blob air bounce and had a fantastic time. The camp sites were wooded with plenty of shade. we stayed in a deluxe site with a patio and porch overlooking the pond..... it was really adorable. I appreciated the gate security at the front- not just anyone came drive in.... gotta show your pass! We will come back again!!! (I never want to stay at a crazy busy campground, which many in the area are....) You feel like you're in the country here with all the shade trees. read more

This campground is located just a few blocks from the beach, but you'd never know it inside. It's well wooded and secluded and the only way you know you're in the middle of civilization is the occasional siren. The park is very well kept and the staff very friendly. I had a tent site with hookups and the lot was wooded with plenty of pine needles around. Each site has a table and fire ring as well. Great centrally located spot to get your outdoorsman vibe on. read more

The one star is for the free coffee only. For a KOA Resort, they should be the best of the best, and I was incredibly disappointed with my stay here. We stayed for about a week, and it didn't appear that the bathrooms were throughly cleaned once. We had several problems during our stay, resulting in needing to be moved twice, and the managers are never present. We were told that in order to talk to them, we would have to come into the office during a two hour window in the morning. My experience with the other staff working was positive, they were as helpful as they could be. The park is currently tore up for construction, and I think it's great to expand, but more attention on the facilities that are already there and in use is more important. read more

Great KOA with a ton of family related amenities. The park has the standard amenities along with a nice pool, splash pool, nightly kid "worm train", jumpy, bike rentals, etc., etc. The park is large but it still feels like you are camping due to the dense trees. The sites are gravel/dirt, but mostly flat. They are long enough to handle big rigs and to park a tow. The downside was their wifi did not work for us. This place is really great! Trees, and facilities are great! Bath houses kinda funky. I have a giant 42' Fifth Wheel, and just thought I'd wander into one to see if it was clean. It was kinda stinky. That's the only reason I did not give them 5 stars. Minutes from the main street. You can walk there. Roads through the campground are narrow, so be careful! All in All... Really a good KOA shade trees. We will be back for sure! read more

Third year staying at the Myrtle Beach KOA and some of the things on my bad list were actually improved upon! (Check out my previous review from last year) *The bathroom by the pool was cleaner *Golf carts can now be reserved online ahead of time *Staff was much friendlier *And they overall seemed more organized *** A great new addition is the golf cart train! Fun for all ages, my kids LOVED it and they are 11 and 12 :) The only disappointment we had was the game room was bare but after my son inquired about it he was told that they are working on remodeling it. Can't wait to go back next year!!! read more

My kids and I are camp-a-holics!! KOA at Myrtle beach is a lovely place to get our fix. For the not so fond of the outdoor experience, this will float your boat....no crazy animals, opportunity for water and electricity at your site if you'd prefer to have it, for an extra cost of course. There's a great camp store, great pool, and nice staff. They even have a beach shittle that will take you to the ocean at the top of every hour. The only draw back is the amount of ants that overran our tent. Definitely ask them to spray your site prior to setting up. You'll thank me for it, I promise!! read more

From my last experience at this KOA I must give them the lowest possible review. If I could give zero stars I would. In fact I have now boycotted all KOA's based out of principle. Excellent place! I really liked it, the staff was pleasant and accommodating, I think that they may have received a little training on customer service, the professionalism exhibited clearly showed. It has many camping options, from the basic "toughing it out" on a tent to the "paved" pull-thru RV site with full hook-ups and anything in between! Amenities are plenty, they got a store, laundry, brick and mortar restrooms and showers are conveniently available, pools, golf cart shuttle to the beach and golf carts for rent for personal use, also entertainment and certain functions such as outside shows and BBQs although the last two I missed. The town has also a lot to offer, many entertainment venues, moped rentals, beach, etc. The only suggestion to them is to expedite the check-out on the store side. Perhaps it was coincidental but on two different occasions I waited quite a long time to pay for my purchase, and so did some members of my party as well yet on different purchases. Now, I know that this was a particularly busy period and not enough to grant a demerit to this place... just an observation. And the only CON was out fellow human beings... let me clear this part up before you think that I'm mad. Some people are just plain idiots! Someone took a shit in a shower stall, many smoked in the toilets and then continued on all the way into the showers, where they finally dropped the ciggy butt in the shower stall, the awesome individual units with the toilet sink and shower set up gets trashed rather quickly with piss all over the toilet, not inside, no, ALL over and general disarray and the dog showering people who left a mess. HOWEVER, the KOA staff did a great job cleaning these places on a fairly regular basis ,until a few inconsiderate asses messed them up for everyone 'til they cleaned it again... 'nuff said! go there and camp already, it's pretty cool! read more

The NICEST, BEST customer service EVER! This is a beautiful KOA facility. Many amenities, activities, and even a beach shuttle! Im so glad we found this place!when we got here we found out the site they had set us up for was too small for our toy hauler. No worries though, because they arranged another setup and even escorted us to help make sure everything would work. Then as my hubby was getting things hooked up, someone from KOA came over to make sure everything was working out!! Really disappointed in this Koa. We love KOA's but this one was a disaster. First they changed the spot we reserved to a different one. (Then tried to convince us it was nicer). All of the games in the game room were broken. Graffiti in the bathrooms, the bathrooms were horribly filthy. Really really disappointed. They have elected to open their pool to the public, this was probably not the best plan in the world. Totally different crowd than what one is used to if you are used to KOA living. They do not blow off and clean the sites up when campers come and go. Over the edge of our porch on the water was bottles and trash, and the deck is covered in pine straw. Poison ivy is growing in the deck, which this kids got into of course. This is supposed to be a "Resort KOA." Sadly it is far from it. I put a review on their site, and there was no contact made to us by management. We were disappointed all the way around. The most expensive KOA we have ever stayed at, but the absolute worst. read more

We booked 3 nights in a patio site on the pond. The site was beautiful and well spaced. The first night the lot across from us had their music loud to where people around couldn't enjoy their evening. The second night the music was even louder with lots of drinking. At 10:00 pm we politely asked them if they could turn down their music. The ladies that work in the office were there and one of which started screaming its not 11:00 pm and turned up the music. At that point we didn't say anything and went back inside and listen to the lady yelling she was going to kick our _ _ _. Contacted KOA headquarters who said they can not do anything about service complaints. I guess when paying $103. per night you should expect loud obnoxious drunk KOA staff partying with long term tenants of the campground. read more

As someone who has never stayed at a KOA campground, I wasn't sure what to expect from this experience. I was happily surprised to find the grounds and staff to be the perfect combination of cleanliness and friendliness.The location to the beach and local sites couldn't be more desirable. The cabins are clean, well maintained, and are comfortable. The grounds are expansive and very lovely. This little forested spot in the middle of Myrtle Beach is a wonderful respite from a day rushing about town. Laundry facilities, a small shop, a game room, a pool, and a jumping pillow are just few amenities that are extra special to the experience of staying at the KOA campground. I highly recommend this location to anyone traveling to the area. read more

I'm only giving 3 stars this time. Last year I stayed at this same KOA and was impressed with how clean and friendly they were. This trip not so much. The restrooms have been badly neglected. So much so that there is mold in the showers. What happened?? The rest of my stay here was good. I will probably try again but I really hope they fix the restrooms before then. read more

Umm where do I start?! The workers greeted us when we pulled in and they were landscaping. So many fun activities for the kids like the huge jumping pillow, splash pad, 2 pools and one for the toddlers as well. Plenty of seats around the pools. This KOA is so well maintained my family will be back for many more visits. We liked how there was plenty of maneuver room and didn't seem as crowded as other KOA campgrounds we've visited in the past. If your lucky they even have a lady that does a mobile Build a Bear shop (off-brand) stop by for the kids and their like half the price. This KOA is close to the beach walking/biking distance for restaurants and shops. And when we left they were doing yard work again they just don't stop trying to make this place look nice. read more

Stayed for one night in a cabin with 1 full size bed 1 bunk bed w/o bathroom, would recommend this place awesome customer service and very friendly workers didn't have no problems bathhouse was very nice and had very very warm water for showers better than other campground we have stayed in at Myrtle Beach would recommend this place over OceanLakes any day of the year they don't treat you like your coming into a prison at this campground ! Clean campsites and most of them have a place to make a fire and you can purchase all your camping needs on site!! read more

Quick update! Day two is way better I have nothing really negative to thanks to the hospitality that we got from Dawn and the trash crew! Very cute cabins however it's not clean! Don't reserve one based on the website! Says it has fridges and it shows porch swings. Main reason to reserve one is cause my mom is older and she enjoys the porch swings but our cabins porch swings had been removed. We went down to the office with the issues but they said most cabins don't have swings it's basically luck of the draw I guess idk..the outside of the cabin ramp is very dangerous the wood is rotted and can't go up safely in a wheelchair. The floor boards are literally coming apart.! Going inside soon as we opened the door we got hit with a dirty mold smell! There is literally mold in the ac! And we supposed to sleep in there and breathe mold! pray we don't get sick from the mold or no one breaks their foot on the broken boards going inside. Went to go check out the beds and there is rat poop on the beds! Again it's not clean the floors aren't clean and the beds are covered in rat shit! Ha and the floor is covered in rat poop but hey on the bright side there is a broom so you can clean it urself as if you didn't have enough to do already. Can't escape home to go on vacation without having chores lol. But the grounds staff people are friendly and the people are nice. The outside stays really clean! Great appearance and the newer modern tiny house style cabins looks nice. So there's that. The one we stayed in needs to be shut down until it's updated it's falling apart and they just paint right over it apparently. Might be a good thing we don't have a swing it might would rip right of the ceiling smh.. 2nd day of our stay we complained again for the 3rd time the manger Paige finally answered after her office staff basically told us we gotta deal with it. Later on a lady Named Dawn showed up I swear this lady should be camp manager. She made everything worth staying out stay got way better meeting this lady she wowed us. Everything that went wrong she went over the top to make it right. Thanks so much DAWN we absolutely appreciate you so very much! I will definitely consider staying here again thanks to you! This place would be perfect with a new onsite camp manager and a few updates! read more

I do not recommend this campground until they get their book keeping records correct and actually answer their phone. They made several mistakes with our billing and the desk people seem incapable of managing their records. We had an incorrect charge placed on our card and no one would ever answer the phone or return a message to correct this. When they do not answer their phone, it goes to the KOA reservation center which can do nothing to help you because although they use the KOA logo, they do not fall under KOA corporate. Finally just had to report the false charge to my credit card. So just watch out for false fees called "grocery" placed on your card. beautiful campground, but poorly managed. read more

The customer service at this campground was outstanding! I wanted to start off by saying that, because every worker we encountered at the park was fantastic! Very nice and helpful the entire time and that made our stay a lot better. Now for the negative... we did camp on a busy holiday week so I understand campgrounds are busier during that time. However, my family and I have a larger travel trailer and I entered that information during booking. When we arrived I was disappointed to see the site we were given. I booked nearly two months out and the description for the site said mostly crushed gravel driveways for it. I was trying to book a fancier site but they were all booked. We were put in the back of the park by the cabins. Anyone who travels in RVs or travel trailers would have to agree with me when I say, I greatly dislike being in the middle of rental cabins. It brings a lot of turnover and more campers than usual cramming into the cabins-- Causing the area to be louder and more congested. Our site also did not have a driveway and only pine needle covered ground to park on. The sites were very tight and we were surrounded by cabins. And although I know the campground can't be to blame for it, many campers around us had yappy dogs that we had to listen to entire time and since the sites were so tight. It was as if the dogs were in our camper. We did visit the shower house at the end of our trip and it was quite filthy. I can't say it was like that our entire trip, because it is possible they hadn't been to clean it yet. I will give a couple other positives though, the pool was nice and clean, they had lots of activities planned for the kids, and it is very close to the beach. All in all, I think for the $75+ a night we spent a night for a site, we shouldn't have been crammed among the cabins and for this I would not stay here again. I love staying at Koa's ordinarily but this was a huge downfall. read more

Virginia Beach Koa was cleaner run better no giant roaches. The shuttle is a joke. It's hourly is more like approximately and on golf cart one spot so if there are two family's. You wait and huddle under a tree for shade. Everything here is dirty and very poorly run and unpredictable. All other places were booked way in advance. There was also a huge country music fest in town. We booked a few mo. in advance. Turns out everyone was full all summer this place was mostly empty even with fest on. With good reason! The huge sighn no refund posted should had been a hint pack up go north up the coast to any place but this KOA! read more

I would have given it a three, but they lie. They have Internet, but it's not usable. When I want to front desk to inquire about it I was told that I was the only one that complained or had problem, but they would send tech to checkout, I walked out to site broadcaster which was right across the street from my site, man laughed, said you are not going to get Internet, that he had been there for month, complained ever day and got the same bullshit story I did. They do have pool open all year, you just cannot get in it until summer, water temp bone chilling cold. I really hate bullshit advertising. Be honest, rewrite your ad to say, Internet only in main building and pool use summer only! read more

This campground is quiet, well kept, great staff. They have permanent residents, permanent stay campers for those who own campers and rent lots year round, cabins for rent, tent camping spaces and a pool and water park area for the kids. Great place for friends and families. read more

KoI've stayed at this place several times. I've stayed in both a 1 and 2 room cabin, and we have loved it every time. The staff has always been nice and helpful to us, the pool and splash pad area is always clean. Sure you have to take up extra space in your trunk and bring your own bedding but at least you know its clean. But the mattress always seem like they have been appropriately wiped when we go in, and if you were concerned it's an easy enough material to clean yourself. Parking right in front of your cabin rather than finding a packed hotel and walking so far is definitely a plus. I'm not sure hut I think my husband requests we be near a bathroom (I have an overactive issue), and I've never felt like i was walking to far to get to one, and they are always clean. I would give this place 5 stars, but, do to having 3 kids (one being of toddler age) I have found myself in the laundrymat area...last time I was was her was in 2018, but I have not seen them saying they were going in and upgrading or fixing it...so whennI had to use it, it smelled terrible (no it was not the nice smell of fabric softener and detergent, and dryer sheets, it was more like someone had died in it) and I think the room across from it is supposed to be a game room, but the smell of the building and the fact that the room almost looked empty, I just went back to my cabin with a timer, fingers crossed no one stole my laundry, lol....the cabin also sometime offers a lot of activities for kids, and one time we went they were serving pancakes every morning for the guests. It's also pretty budget friendly for a weekend getaway....I would definitely recommend this place, and if They ever do fix the building with the laundromat I'll come back and give em that last star :) read more

My complaints are the laundry room facility had 5 broken dryers out of 10. NOT GOOD when the laundry room is busy. AND the BATHROOMS needed cleaning more frequently especially on weekends. read more

This place and the staff were awesome. But it was Jessica that earned the 5 star rating. We came down here with our son in his RV when he came in from Colorado. We did not drive our car nor did I bring any of my camping equipment as he had the RV and a few extra tents and had a tent site reserved along with his RV site. Great so far... but then the rain arrived at 4:00 AM and I didn't have my large tarp. I noticed some of the cabins appeared to be vacant and I went up to the office to see if they had anything available as some of our sleeping bags were getting damp from the soaking rain. Jessica was able to get us (my wife and myself) into one for one day as we were leaving today. We were able to toss the damp sleeping bags into the dryer in the laundry room and bring them back to normal and then stayed in one cabin for one night rather comfortably. I would definitely recommend this KOA for anybody that wants to do any RV or tent camping. Amenities are great, location is great. Beach is a half mile away (if that). They have a small store upfront in the office but if you really need something they don't have there are several grocery stores and convenience stores and restaurants nearby. read more

*Restrooms were beyond gross! Slime, mud, roaches,hair everywhere and restroom #6 had a roll of toilet paper on the counter with poop on it. It was like that all day! One public area was so stinking hot inside and not even worth going to except the water pressure was at least somewhat decent except you had to keep pushing it in so the water would stay on. The other public bathhouse was air conditioned but still gross and the water pressure was very slow. Hard to get soap out of your hair. *Online it says we should have cable TV. Cable cord but no TV. * Ladies at the front desk seem to have a bit of a attitude. When I mentioned the Missing TV in the room. They told me I had to bring my own TV? That's misleading online! It said cable TV. I also asked them what the WIFI password was and the lady was no help and told me I had to create my own. Once I was able to get the password the next day, it kept telling me I have the wrong password. No internet the whole time I was here. * The people who worked outside the building were absolutely wonderful! Very friendly and helpful. Maybe the ladies in the office should take some pointers from the workers outside. *The day before we left, my daughter put some money in the toy Soldier machine while waiting for the dryer to stop and the machine took her money. She went to the office to report it and see about getting her money back and the young lady was slightly arrogant and told my daughter to try putting another quarter in the machine or call the company and report it. So my daughter called the other company and they didn't understand why KOA didn't call to report the issue and why they didn't refund my daughter her money back. * I will come back one day. The rest of the site was wonderful and very close to all kinds of stuff. No shortage of things to keep you occupied. Maybe next When I come back I will know better and have a RV and won't need to use the KOA restroom, TV or internet (which I'm sure was part of my cost). read more

Rented cabin K80 w/out bath. Comfy, clean & sufficient. Great location. I would advise against using the smaller bathhouses by the cabins. They're seriously disgusting. I literally gagged when I walked in. Musty, humid, no a/c, moldy shower doors. Would've given 4 stars if the bathhouses were clean. Other KOA's have exceeded our expectations. This was a great KOA! The bathrooms stalls were clean for the most part. The showers were amazing. I didn't expect them to be so nice. The bathrooms had hooks, mirrors, and bright lighting. The site was near the beach maybe a 5min walk, near the amusement park, and near a club called "Heat". I would stay again! I was very happy. read more
