The place is great over all, very fun. but i don't get why we have to register e bikes and e scooters, doesnt really make sense. The wifi was down for a bit and was really annoying. They only gave us 3 towels when we had a family of 6 and we had to call for more and they gave it to us. The amenities WAS HORRIBLE, first of all there is no soap in the bathroom, second of all the shampoo conditioner was watered down and i went to the pool and when i used it my hair felt so bad so i had to go to walmart and buy some GOOD hair products. The place doesn't have a dishwasher which was fine i guess. Maybe go here if you looking for an adventurous spending some more money than i need to and pretty cool things. read more

I enjoyed our 6 night stay at Sun Outdoors. We were on the older side as there was still gravel in lot A-79 and A-80 the only downfall is that it tracked dirt inside the RV so I would encourage booking closer to the splash pads. I used the fitness center often while there and enjoyed the options. My husband used the laundry area which was convenient as we didn't have to travel back home with dirty laundry. Nightly activities felt a bit dry but still enjoyed the variety of music. We enjoyed the Italian ice, pizza and mini donuts. Trash pick-up was super convenient as it was daily! We were extremely disappointed with our stay at Sun Outdoors Myrtle Beach. Within the first five minutes of entering our cottage, we had to kill a huge cockroach. As we looked around, we also found what appeared to be rat droppings inside the unit. The accommodations felt dirty and poorly maintained from the moment we arrived. After returning home, I developed multiple itchy insect bites around both ankles that raised concerns about possible bed bugs. Because of our experience, I believe the unit should be thoroughly inspected. The pool was also disappointing, with visible debris floating in the water, adding to the impression that the property was not being properly maintained. In our unit many of the floor boards would sink when you walked on them especially in the bathroom. We ended up cutting our vacation short and leaving early because we were so uncomfortable. This was not the clean, relaxing family vacation we expected, and we would not stay here again. read more

From the time we got there to check in until now this front desk female employee was rude, condescending, unhelpful, and down right disrespectful. We ordered groceries with Instacart and she was just as rude to the delivery driver as she was to us. Sun outdoors was an amazing vacation for our family of 5. This will likely be our last vacation as a family of 5 (one's becoming an adult) so it was a great choice to come here for us. The pools and activities are amazing! The amount of things for people to do is extremely helpful. My kids (one has a license) went off on the golf cart often and we would find them hanging out at the water park. The shops, the restaurants, all the pools.. it really was an amazing vacation. We have stayed here a lot over the past 4 years. I needed 2 sites for my daughter's 13 birthday in May. I called to get 2 side by side sites. The lady said they only had 2 sites available in the premium section so I booked them. Well we get campground and all weekend long they had over 150 sites available. I feel like they took advantage of me because I know there wasn't that many cancelations. I filled a complaint and the resort hasn't even contacted me even when I was told they would. read more

This review is about our experience at Sun Outdoors while helping my grandfather, who is snowbirding, check into a cottage for an extended stay. Check-in did not start on a positive note. The initial front desk interaction was unnecessarily unpleasant, dismissive, and unwelcoming. While another employee eventually stepped in and handled the situation professionally, the same front desk employee we initially dealt with continued to be involved in every interaction that followed, and the attitude did not improve. When we arrived at the cottage, it quickly became clear that basic expectations were not met. The unit was dirty. There were stains on the refrigerator, hair on the sheets, and dirt on the floor. For a property charging premium rates, basic cleanliness should be expected without question. The bed was also not as advertised. We were told the cottage had a queen bed, which measures 60 × 80 inches. The bed provided measured approximately 54 × 75 inches, which is a full bed. This is not a technical detail. It directly affects comfort when two adults are expected to sleep in it. The most concerning issue was accessibility. We booked this cottage under the understanding that it was accessible. My grandfather has mobility and balance issues, and safety was a primary reason for choosing this accommodation. After the fact, the office claimed the cottage was not listed as accessible. Regardless of how this was categorized internally, we would not have booked this unit had we known it was not suitable for someone with limited mobility. We stayed the first night while trying to determine the best course of action. The following day, we returned to the front office to discuss changing cottages and were once again assisted by the same front desk employee. This interaction was even more dismissive and unhelpful than the first. An accessible cottage was eventually offered, but not for two more days. That unit still had a full-size bed, and in that second cottage the bed was pushed against a wall, making it impractical for two adults, particularly those of a heavier, elder build. At that point, canceling the stay was the only reasonable option. We were told by that same front desk employee that cancellation was not possible and that we were essentially out of options. Only after requesting a manager did the situation change. The manager was excellent. She was professional, patient, and genuinely listened. If this review were based solely on her handling of the situation, it would be five stars. She agreed to refund us and charge only for one night. Unfortunately, even that one night totaled nearly $450. This included a personal golf cart registration fee of over $30, despite the cart being unloaded only briefly to drive to the front office and immediately reloaded. We were also charged an $85 cleaning fee for a cottage that was clearly not clean upon arrival, as well as a $100 pet fee for an 8 lb hypoallergenic dog that did not stay overnight and was inside the unit for approximately ten minutes. When these charges were questioned later, we were once again directed to the same front desk employee and told the fees were "not removable," with no explanation beyond that. It is genuinely concerning that someone displaying this level of hostility and unwillingness to help is placed in a customer-facing role. Hospitality requires patience, communication, and basic courtesy. Repeated negative interactions with the same front desk staff member made it clear that this was not an isolated bad moment, but a consistent issue. One outstanding manager cannot offset dirty accommodations, misleading information, inflexible policies, unnecessary fees, and repeated hostile front desk interactions. We will not be returning. read more

Nice park but the reservation process is ridiculous unless you pay an extra $40 to reserve a specific site. Ocean lakes or Pirate Land do not require this. We first booked sites across from each other but they "optimized" sites and stuck us in A area and our daughter back in D area. Best part is that both sites we booked remained open all weekend. So I guess optimization means for us to drive back and forth from the front of the park to the back and add traffic unnecessarily. read more

Our second year visiting Sun outdoors Myrtle beach. The WiFi was much better this year. Our kids love this place and perfect for families that love the outdoors. Pickleball, volleyball, cornhole, mini golf, heated pools, hot tubs, basketball, and more - so much to do. It's a clean park, staff are friendly and helpful. Sun Outdoors will not control their own resort and they don't care about the experience of any guest as long as they have your money We stayed for 8 days. The facility was well-kept, the site was great, and the weather was outstanding. We also had our parents rent a cabin and spend the week with us there. Everything was great - until Thursday night when the rowdy people arrived. Our last two nights were a hell of Raucous music played at insane volumes when you were trying to sleep along with screaming, shouting, and loud talking that went on until 2:00 in the morning. When confronted, the bully and 3 of his drunken buddies yelled at us like it was OUR problem and told us to get in our trailer and turn the AC on if we didn't like it. Sun Outdoors management did NOTHING but talk. Micelle, the manager of the resort, couldn't be bothered to talk with us. The "Rangers" would only listen but were not empowered by Michelle to DO anything. Bottom-line: Sun Outdoors will let absolutely ANYONE do ANYTHING they want when they stay at their resort and they will not do ANYTHING! They won't enforce their own rules, they won't deal with problem guests who try to dominate the experience of other guests. THEY DO NOT CARE WHAT YOUR EXPERIENCE IS LIKE SO LONG AS THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY! Personally, I will NEVER stay at another of their RV Resorts, I will warn anyone and everyone I talk with to stay away from them, and I will share my story everywhere I can. We should be compensated by refunding us for two days of our stay that were RUINED by them! If you are looking for a place that you can expect to be treated like a guest by people who are there to maintain and control their own facility this is NOT the place! read more

Poor Customer service. I recently had a terrible experience with Myrtle Beach Sun outdoors customer service team. I called to reschedule due to a home emergency. I didn't want a refund, just to reschedule, due to the urgency of the emergency, i had to make multiple phone calls to address the issue. I called them back and asked why I couldn't reschedule because I didn't know that the emergency was going to happen. I didn't go in depth enough the first time I called to cancel and reschedule is what I was told. I wasn't offered a reservation at a later time and my money was taken. It seemed as though they were more concerned about their policy than the well-being of their customers. I was left feeling frustrated and uncared for, as if my circumstances were of no importance to them. In times of crisis, you would hope for a company to show some level of compassion and flexibility. Unfortunately, this was not the case here. I will certainly think twice before considering this establishment for any future reservations, as their lack of customer-centric approach has left a sour taste in my mouth. read more

If you plan on coming to Myrtle Beach and staying at a premier park, choose another one!!!!! This place is not really even open. all amenities are closed. Bars are closed. Restaurants are closed. There's nothing to do here at all. Ground maintenance is non-existent. Flower beds and campsites are not maintained. Mulch beds are completely empty - shrubs, trees, and plants have not been maintained. Trash in all the lakes. You would think Sun Outdoors Top Premier Park would be maintained, but it isn't. This would be an exceptional place if it were maintained and the amenities were completely open during the off-season months, but it's not. What a shame!!!!!!! read more

We went last year and stayed in the RV park. We rented the VIP cabana, a golf cart and took two campsites of children and adults. We loved it! So we booked immediately for this year and decided to try one of the cabins. Lots seems to have changed. The service was slow and frequently surley. Attendants that were, last year, found at every entrance and exit of the waterpark, making Grandma and Grandpa feel much safer - they were gone. The cabana, while still very nice, would have been much nicer with a simple fan. It would have kept the numerous bees away and at $350 a day, it was expected. The food was DEFINITELY lower in quality! The congealed beer cheese was literally brown from reheating. The park itself is awesome! The kids had a ball! So would I go again? Probably. But, I won't bother renting a cabana, and I will definitely stay in the RV park, not a cabin! I won't eat at the park either. So as RV parks go, it's pretty good! But as vacation rentals go, it's overpriced and underwhelming! read more

Nice campground facilities, but terrible customer service. Check-in is supposedly at 3pm. Our cottage was not ready, due to "making sure everything is clean and working properly." We got the key closer to 4pm, only to be greeted by a stale smell in the living area and warm smelly air blowing from the A/C unit. I noticed rusty water leaking from the A/C and the error code E7 on the unit. Having ductless A/C back home, I am familiar with how mini splits work. I went back (with a dislocated kneecap) to the main building for a third time to advise the front desk and was condescended to and made to feel like they chalked it up to "user error." I was told that "all units need to be set to the same exact temperature for them to work," which is ridiculous and 100% untrue. I pushed for maintenance to come, as the cottage was uncomfortably hot and my 73 yr old mom has a half-collapsed lung and I have asthma. So we can't breathe well in a hot humid room. We waited an additional hour for someone to come and he was the only helpful person we have encountered in our week-long rental at this facility. Rory, we commend your honesty, kindness, and professionalism! You should be promoted to a managerial role! Rory admitted the A/C was malfunctioning and called an HVAC person from offsite to fix it. In the meantime, he moved us to a different cottage--which Sun Outdoors corporate refused to do, saying they were fully booked, which was obviously untrue. The issue was that, they didn't have a cottage for 5 consecutive nights. They never gave us the option to stay in the different cottage until the A/C in our original cottage was fixed. Rory gave us the option and we took it. However, the first 2+ hours of our vacation were wasted by sheer laziness and misinformation on the front desk team's end. At nearly $400 per night, I expected some kind of gesture to make it right. Checkout is 11am and you know we'd be charged by the minute if we stayed behind 11:00. That pettiness works both ways, Carolina Pines!! After complaining to corporate, and wasting yet more of our vacation time, the front desk supervisor, McKenna, came to schmooze us with a comped golf cart--for a day and a half! She said, with Father's Day coming up next weekend, there might not be golf carts available for the rest of the week. This discussion happened Sunday evening. She said to bring the golf cart back Tuesday morning and we could look to see if any other carts would be available for the remainder of our stay. We went back to the front desk Tuesday morning to find that McKenna doesn't work on Tuesday...so we explained the whole thing to another supervisor covering for her, Benny. Benny checked and our golf kart was available for the rest of the week. But, after he called McKenna to verify and do the paperwork, he was told that we needed to pay for the cart "at a discount." Which was 100% not the story she gave us. At this point, I am beyond done with Sun Outdoors. I could have booked an all-inclusive cruise for what I dumped into this subpar self-service "glamping" experience. I didn't complain about the small things, mind you. The ice-cold French fries, dry burger and molasses-slow service in their on-site restaurant, the giant dead palmetto bug in our clothes closet, etc. I just rolled with it. But, now I am literally limping around this property--because I REFUSE to give these sheisters one more dollar for a golf cart their manager said would be comped due to the horrible first impression they made. read more

There were 3 outdoor pools, an entire water park (with slides), an indoor pool, a pool and beach access at the beach club, a restaurant that delivers, comfort stations (showers/restrooms/laundry) located all over, mini golf, mini bowling, an arcade, a jumping pad, dog parks with dog-washing stations, billiards, a common area, a bar, spacious campsites with a concrete patio, nice picnic tables, fire pits, a general store, golf cart rentals and a shuttle to the beach. 10/10 recommend this campground!! read more

My husband and I thought we would do something different and take the kids here. We liked the idea of having all of these amenities in one place as the beach just 15/20 minutes away. First, we tried to check in around 1, they stated you have to pay a $25 fee to 'enjoy the aminieies' but we'd have to come back and check into our cabin, so no, although we were told 2 different check-in times. Tried to call before we arrived but good luck getting someone to answer the phones. When I originally booked in April for our June 3-5th vacation, the water park was opening daily after Memorial Day... NO, they change it without any notice and it's now mid-June. This is the MAIN REASON we rented this place! I wouldn't have come if I had known. I even tried to add a day, have a late checkout etc but the front desk said NO. Another thing, they say they have activities for kids from 3-5... nope. This place is a money pit, everything costs like bowling, the arcade etc. They do not provide trash bags or charcoal but they do provide soap/conditioner/shampoo, some towels and dish soap. The outdoor pool was nice and the kids enjoyed it for a bit but we could have stayed on the beach and rented a hotel for what we paid. Also, they stated there's a clubhouse on the beach you can enjoy, but there is no clubhouse, so we didn't get to enjoy that either. Lastly, they need to provide a bike lane for kids riding their bikes. For some reason, parents let their kids roam free all over the place and trying to drive around is crazy, these kids will ride their bikes right in front of you! We did not opt for a golf cart because they were EXPENSIVE per day! My advise, find somewhere else, it's just not worth the money! read more

We were made to wait past the designated check-in time because "the room was still being cleaned." Finally get into the cabin after 12hrs in a car with my 1.5yr old and the cabin was FILTHY! Feet were black within minutes. Dirt all over the baseboards. The loft was disgusting - food crumbs everywhere. So we were made to wait for literally no reason. We ended up having to clean the cabin ourselves (UNACCEPTABLE). Amenities are great, But this is a party resort. You can't put your infant/toddler down early because the live music blares so loud that the cabin walls shake (not exaggerating). Definitely won't be back. There are CLEAN RV resorts out there that are much more family-oriented. Lastly, ordered delivery 3x while we were here and two out of the three times, the order was missing something. Overall, thoroughly disappointed. It's a shame, because the place has great amenities. read more

Bait and switch! This is our 3rd visit here since Thanksgiving. We booked this trip in March, hoping that during the "on season", things would be better. We debated coming on a weekend in May, as they have waterpark days posted on their website as "weekends only in May, 7 days weekly starting memorial day". With this information, I decided to spend more money, and visit for 5 days during the summer so that my kids could play in the waterpark, which has not been open during my last 2 visits. I arrive at the park at 3pm to check in on Sunday, it's raining, and there are 20 people waiting outside to check in and its chaos. After 20 minutes, it's my turn to check in and I ask about the waterpark, the employee tells me its closed today, for rain, but all the other pools/splash pad are open. I, then, learn from other people who are also camping at the campground that the waterpark wont be open until the weekend because the high school kids are the ones that work it and they're in school. They pushed back the 7 day weekly opening to June 18. We'll we're only here til Thursday so now we wont be able to utilize it, yet again. I'm so frustrated because I spent $75 more per night, specifically because I wanted to utilize the waterpark. I'm upset because major amenity that stated it would be open during my visit is closed. I'm also upset because Carolina Pines should've email guests with reservations to notify them of the change and at least give us the option to move our reservations for a week, when it would be open. Huge park with RV sites, cabins for rent and RV for rent. Great place for kids in the summer when the water park is open. They have lots of activities on site so there is something for everyone..including a least 3 pools one of which is adults only. The park is close to Myrtle Beach and all the area beach access points. This park has at least 3 dog park areas,I can only address one which was close to our site. It is an ok fenced in area divided into 2 sections. It was an ok place to take your dog for off leash time for potty breaks, however not big enough for medium or large dogs to really run off som energy. The laundry facilities were nice and clean. The bath house was clean. A big negative I found was the staff/work campers. Not that they were rude but not very friendly...would wave at them as they were driving around in golfcarts no return wave... hardly even a return smile. We were at this park in early May so it was not super busy. It did get busier on the weekend pools were crowded so could not even begin to imagine the place when it is packed. This park is Huge so plan on renting a golf cart at ridiculously high rates per day, bring your own, have bikes, or plan on lots of long walks. Would would stay here again but never in there high season. read more

My family and I stayed in a cottage here last weekend for 2 nights. It was our first trip. The toilet in our cottage was not functional when we arrived. I called and no one ever came to fix it that day. I tried to call and only could get the national call center to answer. Saturday, I called again and a repair guy came out and had to put in a new part. When we got back from the pool, the toilet wouldn't flush. No one answered the non-emergency line again so I had to drive up to the lobby to talk to anyone. The toilet was finally fixed at 4:00pm Saturday. Check-out was Sunday 11:00am. So basically the majority of the time, we had to use the public restrooms. No one has returned my request for a discount for the huge inconvenience. For spending $400+/night, I at least expected a working toilet! Very disappointed in the customer service and no response after a frustrating experience. read more

Mendi was very accommodating for our last minute stay with our sweet pup. The cottages here are wonderful and include everything you could possible need. Several pools, splash parks, and endless amenities for families and children, even an arcade and bowling alley!. Delicious food options anywhere from coffee can stands, full bars, and ice cream! We even saw a Crazy Mason Truck. Every night there are fun activities and events planned for all ages. We very much enjoyed our stay and will be back! Teresa was very helpful during our check in process as well as Ben in the welcome center! Wonderful getaway for families! The cottages are cute and well equipped for cooking. There are kids running around and playing everywhere which is so wonderful to see! The pools are nice and gym facility was impressive for an RV resort. The resort is pet friendly, so if you are allergic, the cottages will be an issue. They clean in between rentals however, the turn around time is tight. The cleanliness would not pass at a hotel. The resort has a restaurant on site and the food is good however, be ready to wait 2 hours for anything. With the amount of kids and dogs, If you are looking for a relaxing getaway, this is not it. Also, if you need to do any work while you're here, the WIFI is pretty spotty. I personally would love to come back here! If you are looking for a more relaxing stay, go to one of the Sheraton resorts further towards the coast. The Hilton grand Ocean 22 was also lovely. read more

Pros: This is a beautifully landscaped property with every amenity you could possibly think of for convenience, comfort and fun. The water park, lazy river, laundry rooms, bowling alley, and general store have everything you could need or want to do. The property is immaculate. The roads, campsites and structures are well maintained and look brand new. The staff is very friendly, very thorough and has a very organized check in process with a ranger escort to your site. They have very thought out rules, as well, for the comfort of all. Unfortunately, that brings on the cons. Cons: The biggest con of all is that there is no one there to enforce rules and guidelines to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of others. Security, managers, enforcers... Examples: This place is huge and there are a lot of campers, which brings a lot of golf carts, alcohol, kids, bicycles, etc. There was theft, fights at campers at night, loud music on golf carts driving by and at campsites. Groups of people blocking the flow of the lazy river like a block party, way too many people in the pools. Children on bikes and wheeled toys running all over the roads with no regard to campers or trucks pulling through. Not enough parking spots for vehicles because no one enforces the golf carts to park in the golf cart parking spaces. Not enough chairs at the pool because no one enforces the "no saved seats with towels" rule. Conclusion: If you like privacy, shade and more natural settings with nature loving families and individuals, this is not for you. If you like crowds, sunbathing and a time to turn your kids loose while you get intoxicated without consequences or responsibilities of watching your children, this is your stay. We left early just to get away from the constant noise of the socialites and chaos. All in all, this was not for us and if we ever stayed again, it would be during the week while school is in session and after we can see a security team in place for our safety and comfort. read more
