Our first camping trip to "the beach" and I was a little disappointed. This was our 3rd camping trip and when I made reservationS, I let them know that we were still new to the game. Check-in was an easy enough process. The sites were closer together than the other campgrounds we had visited. When we arrived at our spot (240), my husband had to maneuver around a tree at the very edge of the road/literally AT our pad. We couldn't have been assigned a worse spot for someone new at camping. After lots of tries, we finally got in. The other campers seemed stuffy and all an older crowd. They would gather for large dinners together and then after dark the campground was dead. Seemed like we were the only ones sitting outside at night. Would highly recommend renting a golf cart. Pros: extremely quiet (if you like that), dog-friendly (nice pet areas), level concrete sites, clean laundry facilities, overflow parking, close to area attractions, perfect place for retirees Cons: boring, difficult to back in, no fishing, no scenic views read more

Please do not stay here. As a coast to coast member I'm appalled at the treatment and will definitely be letting them know. Just arrived, our campsite is too small, we can't get our slide completely out. Cannot park my truck. Im less than 2 feet from our neighbors camper. Tried to upgrade to one of the empty spots near the water, they wanted $4000. So instead of taking any money, they'd rather we just stay unhappy. It's bad business practices, and for this I wouldn't stay here again. Should be a fun two weeks! read more

Lovely newish park homes promised to make our safe return from our winter home to summer a safe one during a pandemic. Policy can kill the experience though. You know how before booking you ask every possible question that's come up in the past, but how there's always something new? Yeah, that happened here. Oh you're handicapped? We don't have the handicapped accessible bathtub in the pet-friendly park home. (Okay: We put the pets at a kennel a mile away, spending more to get shots early. But the kennel itself was cheaper than the pet fee here!) But the unit has stairs. SMH. And for $160/night ($190 including fees) these park homes have rules that make sense for RVs but seem punitive for car/trailer travel. Everyone must park trailers in the storage area. Really? My teeny trailer isn't even on the grass. Its completely on the pad, sideways. It's our suitcase and has my assistive devices, our food and clothes in it. When I asked for leniency because of disability would you believe the manager looked at me to size up "how disabled" I really was? Wow. So much for ease of use compared to a hotel! Oh well; each new experience does help us build that long list of questions to ask about before booking! On the plus side it's clean and new. A pretty enough little model I recommended it to friend looking for a new model for his mom and farm. Summary: if you have special needs don't expect any allowance for disability/different ability! Good old Ableism strongly followed and reinforced here. read more

This is not much of a resort and management is extremely controlling and nitpicking. Management rides through the park seemingly seeking out individuals to belittle and abuse power. There are a large number of members who have noticed things have been getting worse over the last few years and many believe there is a small click of people who are not experiencing the harassment that others do. So many new memberships are being sold that they have started treating people badly because they know the money is coming in from membership fees. The sites are very close to one another and some of the people are just plain nosy. There are "rules" for limited stays in the park for members but there are at least 15-20 sites that are occupied by the same people year round. All the while, members are turned away when the sites become limited especially over holidays. Mostly older and retired people are here and that's what management seems to really want anyway. Ten sites are made available for coast to coast members, but they are often treated like second class citizens. The sites are concrete, but most are stained and full of ants and if you spray for them, they will try to charge you a fee if you use water on the site for application purposes. Seems like they should try controlling the ant problem instead of guests having to do so. There is one lady in the office (I think her name is Julie) who is very kind and helpful but it's unfortunate she works for a manager who acts like a bully with real control issues but she does so with a goodie two shoes voice as if she's talking down to grown folks like they are children. The permanent sites are occupied by a select group of older people who are living very well with low cost of living all made possible on the backs of members and campers who are paying dues and rental fees.... yet these individuals have control of the board, therefore, THEY control the park rules. SOME rules are reasonable but some are literally absurd and seemingly arbitrary. Rules are enforced inconsistently. Rest assured if you are among the "peasants" not associated with the click that is running the show, you will be called out if you break a rule OR if the manager THINKS you MAY break a rule. It's all a matter of her opinion! We've been members for many years and we used to love going and now that we're older, you would think we would like being surrounded by retired people like ourselves, but we have seen how some members are treated poorly and it's just wrong. We also like bringing our grandchildren camping but the park doesn't have much to offer children. They do have church every Sunday which is nice but I'm not sure if the gospel is reaching the right people yet. I don't mean to sound rude but I'm worried about the decline of the situation over the last few years and it seems like some people are targeted over minor things while others aren't. I'm also concerned about the sustainability of the park because most of the people are older like me and without the younger generation, who is going to keep it up? Some people have been camping there so long, their sites look like they're having a yard sale. Do yourself a favor and don't waste money on a membership if you don't have a good connection to the "BRRV retiree click club". There are so many members who are currently unhappy but afraid to speak up because they don't want to be targeted. read more

Visiting a member and checked into office with licensed ID, make model and tag of my car as requested. Office gave me a gate pass and said that was all I needed. Return tonight To a horrible employee that was absolutely obnoxious and would not let me in because I didn't have a gate pass. No one ever gave me a gate pass. they gave me that white card and that was it. Do a better job of training your employees and try treating people a little nicer. read more

This place is very nice, has the feel of a clean safe neighborhood with great features. The only reason it is not a five star review is because of the extremely rude people in the front office near the end of the day. We checked in here on June 8 after driving frantically to get there before they closed at five. When we arrived at 4:45 we were told we could not check in until the next morning at 11 because it would take longer than 15 minutes to check in. When we checked in the next morning it took exactly 4 minutes. At check out, we raised this issue and were told that they count cash at 4:30 PM and cannot conduct business after that time. I suggested that if that is the case they should advertise they close at 4:30 rather than the falsely advertised 5 PM. The person I talked to was relatively defensive about it, too bad since otherwise a wonderful place. read more

Two stars because they had cement pads. Would not come here again unless there was a deep discount. We were only able to get one night reservation for our coast to coast membership. When we went to make the reservation for other nites we were told there would be no other discount consideration and had to pay the full price. $84/ nite! And it wasnt even in season! We were in a bind and had to take it. Never again. Shame on us for falling for this "policy".Our back in site backed to a day care center with screaming kids during the day. Site and grass was filled with leaves. Oh but they had an area where you could borrow a broken rake if you wanted to rake your own site. Pool was closed and very far away from our site. For this price we expected more; A cleaned up site, maybe trash pick up at the site instead of only 2 dumpsters that we could find. There were NO dog waste stations providing bags. Every other resort we drove thru here were comparable or nicer and at least $ 30 cheaper per nite. It was pouring rain and someone banged on our door and told us to move our dually because part of the tire was on the cement patio. Confusing since the entire site is cement. read more

Very nice clean resort. Stayed here for 7 nights. Good water pressure, good electric, great cable, good placement for sewer. Everyone we came into contact with were friendly. Beach access is just a short drive north on hwy 17. Free parking and wonderful beach about 2 miles away. read more

This is by far the best camping resort we have been to! It is very clean and well maintained. The bath houses were very clean and they have a public laundry facility. All of the sites are paved and long and most of them have shade. There is a lot to offer a family for entertainment within the resort. (Beautiful pool, putt putt, park with pond, picnic area, playground for all ages and basketball courts) it also had a private gate allowing us to walk to Barefoot Landing - AVOIDING BEACH TRAFFIC!! read more
