It has a number of…read morefarmers who provide fresh chicken and duck eggs, fresh fruits and vegetables, and a beautiful array of flowers. Some farmers specialize in organic vegetables, and there are some who offer vegetables and mushrooms used in Asian cooking. There are a number of bakeries represented, including Cannelle's, which offers fresh banquettes and sweet and savory pastries. Ground Control serves delicious coffee, hot and iced. Try my favorite, the iced vanilla latte. It's to die for. The artisans in the market sell items made out of wood, beads and ceramics. There are lovely wooden bowls and cutting boards, jewelry, pottery and even soaps and perfumes, just to name a few. There is even an artisan who sharpens knives, scissors and other blades. My family has a CSA with the Goetz Farm so we're at the market every week to pick up our box of fresh fruit and vegetables. I can tell you this market is very popular and well attended. It's a great place to grab a cup of coffee and a donut and sit down to enjoy the parade of adults, children, and dogs passing by. During the market season, there are several celebrations. I'm particularly fond of Halloween when kids, adults and dogs come in costume. I've been to a lot of farmers markets in my time, and Farmington Farmers & Artisans Market is still my favorite. The last time I was there the market was on the south side of Michigan Ave. They had a decent selection of fruit and veggie vendors and a few baked goods and that was it. Now it's a great place to spend an afternoon and get nearly everything you need for your home. Eggs? They've got em. Meat? Beef, chicken, pork, lamb, even bison are all represented at one of the booths. Plenty of fruits and veggies, of course. Zingerman's is on hand with a lovely selection of cheeses and now--popsicles! Mosey on over to the Treat Dreams booth and get an ice cream from this Ferndale creamery, perfect for eating as you stroll around looking at some of the artisan vendors (bird houses! Lawn ornaments!). Still hungry? Grab a pastry and some of the local bakery vendors or a cookie (and a loaf of bread) from Avalon's booth. Or get a hot dog or some sausage from Binky's. Thirsty? How about a smoothie? While you're at it pick up some jam, some honey, or for something savory, how about some smoked fish? The new(er) space is perfect. Closer to the parking lots and there's plenty of room to wander and not feel crowded. Love the greenspace and if you want something a little heartier Buddy's is right next door so you can take your shopping bags and get some pizza on the patio. The perfect way to spend an afternoon in the sunshine.

The market is located behind the Bryant Library 8:00 am - 1 pm until October 29th. In my opinion this weekly event represents the "best of summer" from the wonderful produce; peaches blueberries, tomatoes, zucchini, the list goes on and on. Farm fresh and you really can taste the difference. Fresh bread, my favorite Rheinland Quarkstuten... don't ask just try it! I have even seen organic meat and unique products that compliment the food you buy at the market. If your not hungry yet may I also say, Fresh Michigan Cherry juice to top it all off! Everyone at the market is friendly and ready to help. It is one of the highlights of my week to attend I am so glad a friend told me.

It's tough to shop at my usual places where there are SO many out of stocks & where it doesn't feel like some stores are taking enough health/sanitizing precautious for their employees AND shoppers -- so, I've been trying new places like Frog Holler! From what I understand, they're typically a wholesaler that supplies to restaurants. But, they've adjusted their business model/offering quickly so that non-business shoppers like you & me can order from me! It was very easy/seamless -- they have a Shopify page (https://frog-holler-produce.myshopify.com/) to place your order & select a pick up time. It was a contact-less pick up -- they ask you for your name + you open your truck/door & they'll plop it right in. I went for The Original OG! (assorted organic bundle). The assortment changes but they have what's included listed out. My produce box was AWESOME - the fruits & veggies were really fresh. They also sell some breads (from a local baker), dairy/eggs, vegetarian items (tofu, tempeh, seitan, beyond burger). I will definitely be ordering again! I was hoping for seasonal, local produce*, so this wasn't quite what I wanted. However, I am giving it 5 stars because it was exactly as marketed, and the produce was excellent. Plus, there was a ton of produce in the Pear-fect box (just $25), and the penny delivery during the pandemic is such a fantastic deal--Just $5 regularly isn't bad either! We even gifted some of the bananas to the neighbors because there were so many that were perfectly ripe and ready to eat! *There were fruits/veggies that aren't grown locally and several items that weren't in season, so they must have traveled quite a distance. If Frog Hollow were more connected to local farms, I think my parents would subscribe to a weekly box! I surely would!

Most of the stuff here ran the gamet from cosmetics to kettle korn. There is some excellent fresh made salsa for sale. There are several farm markets close by who are offering the same fruits and vegetables at a lower cost. I understand that people have to make a living, but I would like to see something here that nobody else is offering. Something that would make me want to support this venue. This is a thursday only market during the summer months.

My daughter has learned a great deal through the Power of Produce, a wonderful, generous program for kids to pick out what they want to "buy" with tokens provided to them. You won't find super cheap stuff here, but if you're looking for quality and want to support a local Detroit collective, stop by and support the market. I bought some great coffee, chicken and some of the best tomatoes I've ever had the last time I was there. It's only open Thursdays from 4 - 8 pm, so plan accordingly if you want to support it. It's sponsored by the Grandmont-Rosedale Development Corporation (GRDC), a really great Northwest Detroit organization that is working hard to improve the area.
