Came here for dinner this past Friday night. We had no reservations, we were able to walk right in for a table for two. I had the Dreamy Clouds sake by the glass. My husband had a Sapporo. We split the following: Spicy Tuna Roll - basic and delicious Green Monster Roll - I believe this was a special. The space is chic and stylish, definitely a "see and be seen" kind of spot. Service was straightforward and efficient. With five people in our party, we got to try a good spread. Appetizers: Miso Black Cod - Good, but not the best I've had. Flavors were mild; nice, but not memorable. Salt & Pepper Calamari - Crispy, well-seasoned, and a solid portion. Spicy Salmon Rice Bites - Underwhelming; lacking flavor and the rice wasn't as crispy as it should be. I'd skip next time. Hamachi Usuzukuri - Refreshing yellowtail sashimi with ponzu and chilies, but the fish lacked richness and depth. Mains: Wagyu Tomahawk Ribeye - Cooked beautifully, and the radish ponzu sauce paired perfectly. That said, about a quarter of the steak was untrimmed outer fat, making it inedible which feel like a waste for such a premium cut (and money) House Fried Rice - One of the surprise highlights. Flavorful, well textured, and paired nicely with the steak instead of the usual potato sides. TikTok Chicken - Essentially a pricey General Tso's. Fun name, but flavorwise, you can get it anywhere. Bottom line: Cute atmosphere and a few solid dishes, but with the competition in the area, Mystique won't be our top choice. This is located inside the Encore hotel. They do have unlimited sushi on Wednesday but I wasn't here for that. We have ordered a bunch to share for the group, and some were really good and some were not good. Started with Shishito peppers 2/5- even though they were peppers, it didn't have much flavor. How does that work.. Chicken wings 4/5- chickens were tender and the sauce that had was delicious! Spicy tuna roll 2/5- wasn't spicy at all. It was a bit bland. Tasted the same as the California roll. Korean BBQ NY Strips 4/5- this is where it was at! Tender, cook to the right tempt and great sweet and sour sauce to go with it. Salt and pepper calamari 4/5- it was crispy, cooked fine. Service here was very attentive. There were other big group and they were able to manage it with no issue. When we walked in the host gave us an option of sitting in the bar/lounge area or dining area. Definitely a different depending on your choice. The bar is loud with tvs and you can watch the chefs cook in an open kitchen so a very cool experience. We however opted for the dining area. We were brought to a large booth for just the two of us which was very nice and it overlooked the garden. Our server was so fast and extremely attentive. Our food came out extremely quickly and I was very impressed. Things tasted great. I would say that what we worded however had tons of salt. Not for someone with high blood pressure. But the taste was great for us! Cocktails are pricey but expected $20-$23. Tasted good but didn't blow me away for the price. Mediocre experience given the expectations I had for my first dining experience at the Encore. I was seated at a corner table in the back, right next to the kitchen entrance, though there was plenty of other space. I was too tired to complain, and famished having just flown in from the west coast. I ordered the calamari and cauliflower appetizers, then the poke for my entrée, and added a lo mein at the servers recommendation. The calamari ($30) and cauliflower ($18) were generous portions and tasted like I expected them to. The poke ($25) was small but delicious, probably the highlight of my meal. The disappointment was the lo mein ($29) - I left it untouched after a couple of nibbles. I went to Encore for my friend's bachelorette party; we had dinner here before we went to Memoire and it was amazing. All the food and drinks tasted incredible. Our server was knowledgeable and made great recommendations. The way the food was served was a little odd because as soon as something is ready it's pushed to the table- they don't want plates sitting in the kitchen because they're meant to be eaten fresh and hot- but that meant everyone's food was staggered. That also meant that one of the dishes we ordered never came out, probably just due to it being a busy time and there were a lot of us, but they acknowledged their mistake and removed it from our bill. Mystique blew me away. They did not disappoint at all, and I am so happy my husband and I changed our other dinner reservations and decided to go with Mystique. They have an open kitchen meaning all their dishes come out as they are finished. I also appreciated that the restaurant asks if dinner is for any particular occasion, as it adds a personal touch to the experience. Mystique has an intimate ambiance setting and isn't too loud or awkwardly quiet. For an appetizer, we went with the Chicken Wings that where delivered on a custom-built grill filled with smokeless Japanese charcoal, something I never saw before, so I was highly amused. The chicken wings where full of flavor and truly tasted like a smoked BBQ, the meat would just melt off the bone, I was pleased. For our main course I got the Tik Tok Chicken with Jasmine Rice. It had a sweet and spicy tang to it and was cooked to perfection with the veggies and all. It tasted like real authentic Asian cuisine. The service was great and on point with refilling our water glasses, and you can tell the staff here work together as a team. I skipped dessert, but I did try a Lychee Martini, and this has to be my official favorite alcoholic drink ever here. Lychee is a small rounded fruit with a sweet white scented flesh, with thin rough skin on the outside. It is a popular Chinese fruit.
