If I could give Lucky Tiger more than five stars I absolutely would. From the moment we checked in to the moment we reluctantly checked out hours later this experience was nothing short of amazing. Huge shoutout to Eduardo, the manager, who went above and beyond to make our sisters holiday outing feel special and intentional, and to our server Paulina, who was attentive, warm, and truly wanted everything to be perfect. And it was. Let's talk ambiance first because whew. Chic. Stylish. Aesthetic on aesthetic. Even the walk to the bathroom felt curated. Ladies... the mirror alone deserves a moment. Full body selfie approved. Now the drinks. The mocktail I had was SO good. Balanced, flavorful, refreshing. I like a mocktail that has flavor and layers without being super sweet. The apps thoughhhhhh! They deserve their own paragraph because baby... The crab rangoon was TO DIE FOR. That old school wrap dough situation? I have been hunting for that exact texture and flavor forever. My fave restaurant switched dough and I haven't had a good Rangoon since then until now. It was crispy, nostalgic, and perfect. The fried egg rolls? Delicious. The pickled cucumbers? Bright and refreshing and er literally ate every drop, lol. But the WINNER... those fall off the bone ribs. I might have made a sound when I bit into them. Cooked to perfection. A full blown flavor party in my mouth. The scallion pancakes were the only thing that did not hit for me. The dough was thicker and heavier than I prefer. I love mine light and airy like traditional scallion pancakes. If they leaned that way I would have been obsessed. Our main courses... baybeeee The Dan Dan noodles... I did not even get a bite. I went to ask my sister for a taste and they were GONE. All of them. That says everything. My other sister loved the dumplings and even more that they fried them for her instead of serving them traditionally. And the sauce with those dumplings... Let me tell you about the sauce. I am OBSESSED. I took some home and Eduardo generously gave me more to take. That is top tier service and an at home sauce party, lol. My fried house rice was excellent. The mix of veggies and flavors was perfection. With everything else we ordered I could not even finish it. And then... dessert. Eduardo and Paulina surprised us with a complimentary cheesecake that was so light and decadent, topped with fruit and homemade whipped cream. Next time I am absolutely saving space for that. The customer service was truly top tier. The decor, the food, the staff, the background music. Everything PERFECT. My sisters and I sat for hours. We laughed. We ate. We shared emotions. We were present. That alone tells you how comfortable and welcoming this space is. I would go back today. I cannot wait to bring my husband and some of my fellow foodies. The atmosphere and vibe reminded me of a restaurant/lounge at an airport terminal, or a restaurant at an all-inclusive Dominican resort. Trendy downtempo/chill-out music, showy decor, and a clean modern appearance, yet there were only two other patrons on a Saturday evening. But the food is where the rubber meets the road, and the food here was mediocre. Ordered the sushi bites and tuna tacos and everything was slathered in sauces that were over-flavored and not prepared with any sort of light touch. The place is trying hard to be hip, trendy, and fancy, but is somehow out of touch with that subtle X-factor that makes a restaurant stand out. Such a fun restaurant to check out in Charlestown! We stopped by on weekday nights and it wasn't been too busy. We decided to order some appetizers, which were definitely the stars of the meal! Highly recommend the crab rangoons and scallion pancakes. For entree, I recommend getting a sushi roll. Both the salmon and tuna rolls are delicious! The udon noodles were a let down and just too salty but everything else was amazing! It is a bit pricy for the food you are getting but overall a great dinner experience. Lucky Tiger is a newly opened restaurant that serves many popular Asian dishes, with an American twist! The interior is stunning! They've got two full bars and plenty of seating, but make sure to make a reservation still, just in case. What we ordered: -crab rangoons with pineapple chili sauce -sweet and sticky spare ribs -salmon sunrise maki roll -general gau's chicken -espresso martini -yuzu martini My favorite dish that we tried today at Lucky Tiger has to be the sweet & sticky spare ribs. They were so perfectly tender, fell off the bone while still being crispy! I do wish that the flavor profile was a bit more complex; tasted mainly hoisin sauce. My second favorite dish was the salmon sunrise maki roll. Loved the different textures from the mango, cucumber, torched salmon on top, & regular salmon filling. The crab rangoons were not bad. I think that the filling was blended too well & would benefit from having some addition texture whether from crab bits or scallions; felt that this dish tastes flat. The pineapple chili sauce was a nice touch though! General Gau's Chicken: I think this dish has potential. Wished it didn't have such a strong taste of ginger powder & actually just used real ginger? This dish was a big miss for me. The drinks were okay. I favored the espresso martini over the Yuzu martini; was too tart for me. Overall, a great place for a chill night, just some dishes are better than others... but I can't be mad about the food because its not like they aimed to serve authentic Asian food, just "Asian fusion". So I wouldn't suggest coming here if you are looking for an authentic spot, however, they're good for the ambiance, kind of like Mr. H in Seaport. They're located by Urban Wild and Tradesman Bar. Coming from intense bowling next door at urban wild we wanted to pop in to this busy new restuarant. The DECOR my gosh, is fantastic. Great for group parties, they have overflow space in their brunch breakfast spot next door at night-- great ambiance! Now this is an American take on some Asian fusion and i think it was done well overall. I'm sure they will continue to tweak and make their menu amazing. I like that they did not try to over do it with the quantity of items. We ordered + crab rangoons with pineapple duck sauce I liked it just fine as long as it comes out HOT! To my rangoon expertise haha i think it would be better elevated if the filling had a bit of contrasting texture or maybe mixed a bit less or add onion for the crunch. + sweet and sticky ribs Hands down fan Favorite, i think a hoisin sauce based sauce, the ribs were melt off the bone tender and so deliciously good-- GET IT! + Salmon sunrise Maki- fresh and not too much rice, i think it'd be cool if they rotate the 3 rolls they have available or do monthly maki's to keep it fresh! + Gen Gau Chicken! Now this is usually a goto for me for American style Chinese food. They have it the tender dark meat style chicken and the sauce is great, not the orange flavor base GGC, more pepper / salty style. What i would input maybe is, present the chicken in middle with broccoli off to the edges and sauced it n the center. Visually it would be more appealing and perhaps keep the broccoli crunchy! There are two separate bars in different rooms, each with its own unique vibe, making it a great spot to explore and find the perfect setting for your night. It really added to the overall atmosphere. From the hosts to the waiters to the managers and bartenders, everyone was wonderful. The staff was attentive, friendly, and quick to assist. They made sure we had everything we needed without being overwhelming, which was much appreciated. Convenient parking was available with a garage nearby. The first two hours are free, which is a nice perk. Plus, the restaurant is conveniently located next to Urban Wild, adding to the overall vibe of the area. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to expectations, and considering the prices, it really didn't feel worth it. The fusion dishes didn't hit for us, lacking the flavor profile I was hoping for, and the overall quality didn't justify the cost. On the other hand, the drinks were wonderful. Creative and refreshing, they were definitely a highlight of the meal. We liked everything we tried from the sake, to the martinis, mojitos, and margaritas. A downside in IMO was the use of a palm pilot for payment. I'm not a fan of this method, so I asked for the bill to be printed out so I could review the charges. It feels awkward for the waiter to stand there while we try to scroll through to review charges on the device and then make payment and tip while they are watching. As a sweet touch, they surprised us with fresh chocolate-dipped strawberries at the end of our meal, which was a lovely gesture for the occasion. We also got fortune cookies. While the food may not be worth the prices, this place is perfect for a date night, especially if you're just looking for a great spot to enjoy drinks at the bar and a light bite. The vibe alone is enough to give this restaurant 5 stars. But thankfully, the food warrants the same honor. My girlfriend and I went here on a cold night in Charlestown and ended up staying longer than we expected. We sat at the bar and had an amazing evening chatting with the bartender. The mood is perfectly set between the Japanese art style and the cozy, warm lighting. It's all perfectly captured with an amazing mural of a tiger in a bathtub hanging on the far mirrored wall. We were so excited to try Lucky Tiger and finally made our way there 5 weeks after opening. Everyone was extremely friendly and the vibes were great. It was a Saturday night and the place was packed! They were turning people away, they were so full- always a good sign! We were seated right away. Here is where some stars were deducted. We waited 25 minutes before any one came over to take our drinks order. We figured since it took that long- we might as well order drinks and food at the same time. Well- that was a mistake. Some of our food came out 5 minutes later and we waited another 15 min for our drinks. We officially didn't get drinks until 40 minutes into the meal and after some of our food arrived. Our potstickers, which are essentially an app, came out at the very end of the meal. They also bring the food out as it's ready- which is nice so items aren't getting cold, however we got items 20 plus minutes apart, which isn't exactly ideal. We are usually a 2 drink per person kind of couple- but when you get your first drink after you are basically done with the meal, you aren't ordering a second drink... definitely lost revenue for them. We ordered the potstickers, crab rangoons, fried rice, and general gaos chicken. Everything was great. My favorite were the crab rangoons. Overall, we will go back, but I hope the service speed can improve. read more
