Food: The food here is delicious! We tried the chicken tikka masala and chicken vindaloo. Both were amazing and very flavorful. The naan is just okay and not the best. Portions are a bit small for the price, but this is one of the better Indian restaurants I've tried in NYC. Service: Staff were nice and friendly. Placed an order over the phone because they barely if no vegetarian options on UBEREATS. Paid almost $20 for one of their dishes and received a plate which included more than half of rice and on top the main dish. It did not worth the price definitely not in quantity nor in quality. On top when mentioned that I ordered a dish with rice on the side her excuse was that it depends on how you ordered it (over the phone or online) Will never order again from there. read more

Wow! I had the best experience ordering from Mysttik Masaala for dinner last night. Kindest restaurant owner I've EVER met! He gave my friend and I multiple samples as we waited for our food, a combination of entrees, discounted appetizers, AND surprised us with "lunch box's" of our meals in smaller tupperwares for the next day. Was pretty excited to try this place, but this was SUPER overrated. The samosas were fine but bland. But the palak paneer....tasted like frozen packet/reheated palak paneer. Not fresh in the least. I was taught that if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all but as a Yelper I must speak facts and I choose to speak the truth in the following review: Mysttik Masaala-Court Square was really just okay. I'm not sure if it is because ever since I visited another Indian restaurant, my expectations have gone up in terms of quality and taste or if this place just had an off night. With that being said, I will say that while the customer service at this food-on wheels-kinda-sorta truck thing was absolutely superb, the food was only just regular and I was quite disappointed. The manager, who apparently owns six of these establishments in total, was super friendly, courteous and had high energy. The service was quick and efficient. But as noted, the food wasn't all that with the kinda dry chicken and kinda dry nan bread and barely there tikka sauce. The vegetable rice was the best part of the meal with good flavor and texture. Overall okay experience but I probably wouldn't go back. read more

Not bad at all. Got Chicken Tikka Masala, and was given some spinach atop my rice. The spinach and rice was very good. I found the chicken to be so/so, however... the sauce was a bit grainy, as if it were overrun with garlic powder or some other type of powder spice. It didn't taste badly... I ate every bit... but the consistency of the chicken was a bit stiff. In other words, when I cut it in smaller pieces, it split evenly with little effort. There wasn't any real cutting necessary, as there would have been if it were soft and juicy. I myself probably wouldn't get it again, because--while $10 for this plate is less expensive than what I'd find at a restaurant--I'd rather pay more $ to receive restaurant quality food. I've never seen an Indian food cart before, and I really like the idea. I imagine that the food cost is much higher for this cart than for, say, Halal chicken food carts. I also assume that there's a LOT more food prep involved, and the challenges of keeping everything fresh throughout the day is much more challenging as well. I give the operator a lot of credit in putting this together. I even liked the food photos he has on the cart. Well done! My advice would be to keep at it, and play around with the chicken prep methods and recipe... make it creamier, and see if you can get the chicken to feel more freshly cooked. The food is so amazing and the owner told us he visits back to India just for spice purchase and him and his family grind their own spice for decades. He's really the kindest small business owner, while we waited in line he didn't want us to wait hungry and gave us appetizers during the wait, plus dessert samples on the house along with snacks. I hope to support more local businesses like him, especially during covid where food trucks had to close down due to financial challenges, and I encourage all members in the LIC community to do the same! read more

What a great addition to court sq! I noticed the cart just outside of the train station on my way back home one night and the smell of the food alone convinced me to come over and try the food out. I had a combo platter of the chicken curry and aloo baingan and the first bite had me in love! Everything was cooked perfectly and with just enough spice and the chicken was so juicy and savory that I consider it to be some of the best I've ever eaten off of a food cart. You know a an Indian food-cart is doing things right when- 1. The menu changes daily 2. The chutneys and sauces arent ur avg run of the mill stuff 3. The spice (not heat) level isnt overtly high nor too mellowed down 4. The curries are fresh and reminds you of home 5. U get free stuff to munch on while u wait for ur order Great addition to Court Sq which was lacking quality Indian food despite a couple of Indian restaurants nearby. The food was amazing and the service was fabulous. I barely waited for 2 minutes after I ordered my food. The owner served appetizers on house during the wait. The kababs, Pulav, Chana and daal were very tasty and hit the spot. We definitely will be stopping over for more food experience at this food truck.
