Two weeks ago, they came out to fix a bathroom tub leak. I was charged $1,300 to replace the cartridge, handle, and spout. The parts cost around $250, and the job should have taken less than an hour, but they stayed for about four hours because they kept getting the wrong parts. They came back last week because the tub was still leaking. This time, they said I needed to replace the shower base where the cartridge goes and quoted me $3,400. I declined and asked them to put everything back together, but the leak was actually worse afterward. What bothered me most was the lack of transparency. I asked for a breakdown of the charges and was essentially told, "That's just what we charge." After almost spending nearly $4,700, I feel I could have had the entire tub area remodeled by another company. I also recently tried to cancel my membership and learned that it's a one-year contract and that canceling early may require paying back the discounts. That was not my understanding when I signed up. I'm extremely disappointed with the pricing, communication, and lack of transparency. I'll be taking my business elsewhere and looking for a company with fair pricing and clear, honest billing. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Service Stars based on my experience.

This year, my wife and I were blessed with twins. This also means our expenses caring for a little own are multiplied. While facing a financial hardship, our furnace started leaking dangerous levels of carbon monoxide and we needed a replacement. We couldn't afford the cost of a new own and care for our babies equally. With temperatures on the decline, it was imperative that we replaced it as soon as possible. When Tyler Air Conditioning heard our story, they offered to help. During an extremely difficult and stressful time, they offered to donate their time to help offset the cost of a new furnace. On August 4,2020 our town experienced devastating damage caused by a hurricane. We had not serviced our generator (as advised) in a few years. And when we lost electricity, the generator did not "kick in." For medical reasons, we must have electricity. We called Yankee Electric and spoke with Gary K. One of the owners who had heated our driveway and installed our generator. 25 minutes later, Gary was at our front Door. He had actually walked up ( carrying equipment) our steep and "curved" 600 foot. driveway!! The driveway was even more hazardous than usual, because part of a tree, ( including branches and leaves) had fallen across the bottom section. Gary charged the battery, and it "went on!" He returned yesterday. ( our driveway had been completely cleared) in his truck with all of the needed equipment. He put in a new battery, added oil, and explained how we could conserve propane until our fuel company is able to completely fill our 3 tanks. We recommend Yankee Electric 100%. We have been customers for over ten years. They have assisted us in snow storms and after huge wind and rain storms!!
