We had a great early morning outing with Chellen and Erica on their 35' catamaran. It was a little choppy on the way up but we had several whale, bottle-nose and spinner dolphin sightings along the way. They were super knowledgeable about the local marine life and geography all along the coast. We weren't able to get into any caves or snorkel due to the weather but we did get up close to a few of them and had a swim call. Be sure to get to the launch ahead of time to use the head as the only facilities on the boat is a "bladder ladder" where you let it all hang out on the stern of the boat. If you tend to get seasick take something on your way down to the launch. They do provide some ginger chews to help but better to be prepared ahead of time. If you're coming from the North Shore plan 1.5 hours to get to the launch area. read more

My husband and I had the best experience with Ne Pali Experience. We were between this and a helicopter tour and are so glad we did this. Parking is easy and finding your tour provider is pretty easy to do at the picnic area. We did the 6 person power catamaran ($229pp) and it was everything we could have asked for. We were joined by a family of three and our captain (Captain Jackie!) was personable and kept us up to speed on the weather, sights, stories, and when to spot wildlife. Her eye for wildlife is amazing! We lucked out with really smooth conditions that day - I highly recommend the early AM tours if you're not sure - we saw a bunch of spinner dolphins and turtles, it was such a treat. Snorkeling in such lush and diversely filled waters off the boat was incredible, there's nothing else quite like it. We were able to see a few sea caves and got to snack on some fresh cut pineapple and chips and granola bars. Highly recommend having some Zofran handy if you get seasick. I don't normally get seasick but it's a long enough rocky ride (remember, my ride was smooth!) that it'll get you! The absolute highlight of our Kauai trip, thanks a ton! read more

Recommend HIGHLY. We took the boat that carried approximately 18 passengers and goes **inside** the sea caves. Our crew were knowledgeable, hilarious, helpful and just made the trip all the more fun. We saw tons of dolphins, turtles and had a blast during snorkel time Truly enjoyed the fresh carved pineapple picnic on the back of the boat! This trip leaves from a small port with easy parking and restrooms. Don't bother wearing your fancy "water shoes" on board, though. Everyone's shoes go into a dry bag until you get back to the landing. read more

Such an epic day on the coast! We went out on a day with huge swells and relatively high wind in the afternoon, but Captain Dan was an insanely skilled boat captain. He was timing entry into caves perfectly so we had time to look and take pictures but pulling back out before the big swells came in, and reading the ocean expertly so it was the smoothest ride possible in all the wind and waves. Both Dan and Colleen were super knowledgeable about the geology and history of the coast as well as the wildlife we ran across. They were both genuinely excited to see the whales and dolphins (and even a shark!) and took time to make sure we could hang out and watch the animals. Colleen spent the whole trip getting to know all of us and clearly thrives in hospitality work, which not many do. You could tell Colleen and Dan had a genuine love for their island and enjoyed getting to share it with visitors. They struck the perfect balance between a spirit of adventure and safety. My friends and I had the absolute BEST time on Na Pali Experience. We had some first timers in our group (visitors), as well as some seasoned Na Pali coast exploration veterans (Kauai locals), and we all were extremely impressed with the hospitality of the crew (Seana and Captain Jackie) as well as the overall experience. The other guests seemed happy and well looked-after too, and it felt like a group of friends hanging out all day even though we had all just met and were from very different demographics. The crew seemed to gauge the weather really well, getting us as far down the coast and showcasing as many landmarks as possible, before turning back and outrunning rain/wind at the perfect time. We saw countless dolphins, including bottlenose (which are actually pretty rare in the area) and baby spinners! Seana's enthusiasm is contagious, and you can tell she loves her job, which makes the experience feel so much more authentic. Jackie made us feel very safe, even when getting us as close as possible to the waterfalls and sea caves (though we could not go inside caves due to high surf). I can't praise this experience enough, and would recommend it to everyone, whether local or visiting. read more

This is a long overdue review which I meant to write as soon as we returned from our vacation on Kauai this past July. I just could not ignore submitting this since it was truly one of my favorite experiences EVER. I grew up on Kauai and already knew how extraordinary and breathtaking the Na Pali is, but this perspective and experience was exceptional. My daughter and boyfriend had selected to do the zodiac NPE the year before and really encouraged the rest of the family to try it. Being "seniors," we opted for the catamaran. From the moment we took off to explore the incredibly scenic coastline with its unique and majestic cliffs, it was exhilarating and SO much fun! Chellan and Shay were our captain and guide, and their warmth and friendliness were only surpassed by their informative historical accounts and interesting stories and legends. Loved every minute of this magical, never-to-be-forgotten trip. I already recommended it to friends this October who also loved it -- and I'm ready to do it again. read more

Prior to this trip, I have been on other NaPali coast tours, but this tour was by far the best and exceeded every expectation. Captain Drew and Corbin (who is also a captain) are just the best!: the most competent sea-men, the most knowledgeable, so kind and FUN, and they revere the natural beauty and splendor of this magical island as if they were natives. Plus their double hull state of the art speedboat is incredible. So fast, safe and comfortable with plenty of cushy seating, even cushy non slip decks and a good amount of shade cover. Fresh fruit and snacks and cold beverages served at just the right time and they know how to really maneuver all of the secret spots and where to find dolphins, whales and turtles. Snorkeling gear is very nice. They know all of the local lore and all of the sea loving locals. The music was also great! An impromptu dance party may break out if you're with the right crowd! Perfect for adventure loving families with children, couples and groups of close friends, or come alone and you will make friends. The Family and I had an amazing tour of the Napali Coast with Lieutenant Dan! We got lucky and were able to see Manta rays, dolphins, and turtles! Lt. Our Captain, Chellen, was incredible - his driving skills were top tier and it was amazing to watch him back the boat right into sea caves and under waterfalls with ease. We had an amazing time on Na Pali Experience with Captain Jackie. The boat was stable with plenty of room for guests. Captain Jackie always checked in with us to rotate to different spots on the boat, if we were ok, etc. The views are absolutely amazing. We saw spinner dolphins, bottle nose dolphins, turtles, a monk seal and tons of fish. The water was crystal clear and we had a chance to snorkel for awhile, which was perfect. Captain Jackie had fresh pineapple, chips and oat nut bars when we finished snorkeling. She provided snorkel gear too. I can't recommend this tour enough. Next time we're on Kauai we will book it again. read more

Highly recommend this tour. We did the Deluxe Power Catamaran with Captain Jane and Shay. The boat was comfortable for the rough waters. The zodiak rafts looked fun but now that I've been on this boat I don't see how sitting in a raft could be comfortable for such a long, rough ride. The boat was small enough to go into a few caves. Scenery is breathtaking. Saw turtles and schools of dolphins. Jane was great at pointing them out and taking the boat over to them. Amazing experience overall. read more

The highlight of our trip to Kuai for our family of 7 was without a doubt the Na Pali Experience. Captain Chellen and Casey were extremely knowledgeable about the history of the area, and made sure everyone was comfortable and seeing the sights they pointed out. Being surrounded by pods of spinner dolphins jumping out of the water was incredible. Captain Chellen's boat skills were amazing, and the smaller size of the boat and number of people on the boat made for a much more intimate interactive experience. Everyone enjoyed the stop to swim. If we ever go back to Kuai we would definitely do this tour again and hope Chellen and Casey would still be there! read more

This was the highlight of my week long trip between Maui & Kauai. Our captain, JD was super kind and really great at his job. He navigated some challenging waters safely & went above and beyond to provide a great experience. We saw so many dolphins, active whales and a turtle. The Napali coast is stunning and definitely something to experience at least once in a lifetime. Not sure a review can do it justice. One tip - it can get colder than you expect and windy. Bring a jacket and maybe some sweatpants especially in the winter! I was very cold on the way back since I had gone in the water and my swimsuit was wet. Captain "chillin with Chellan" and deck hand "Hawaiian Brian" couldn't have been a better duo for this tour. These guys are born and raised locals, and truly knew how to share the Aloha energy with us. The two of them complement each other very well when it came to the flow of the tour. The education that they shared with all of us was truly special. Hawaiian Brian was great at "breaking the ice." He really got to know us better on a more personal level, while we made our sail out to Napoli Coast. Chellan is a crafted captain who navigated the coast line with ease and grace, stopping at the significant locations to share Hawaiian history with us. We were very thrilled to only have 13 passengers on our trip along the Pali. It really makes a huge difference when you get a more personalized experience and get to connect with everyone around you. It really felt like an intimate experience for us. We got on the afternoon boat tour. Conditions were 50/50 as they liked to say. Weather can change in 5 min/ 5 miles and they were very aware of the quickly changing conditions. We were able to back in to a few of the caves and sail in to the "open ceiling cave"even with the little bit of choppy waters. On the sail back we got to anchor at a nice snorkeling location, had some light snacks and fresh pineapple (Chilean cut the pineapple like a culinary artist) and then headed back to the harbor. On the way back in from the harbor we were greeted with two different pods of dolphins and a beautiful rainbow to end the tour. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience, as it is permanently etched in to my memory. At the end of the tour, we had the pleasure to be able to hang out for a little while and chop it up. We took a trip up the Na Pali Coast with Na Pali Experience and it was the highlight of our trip to Kauai. Captain Nate and RJ were so professional, yet funny and personable, made us feel safe, and and provided unbelievable history and interesting facts as we traveled. We saw pods of spinner dolphins, sea turtles, waterfalls, snorkeled, went inside caves, and the magnificent cliffs are beyond description. I was nervous about potential seasickness so chose their company after doing much research and reading many reviews. We took the morning trip, as people report the water tends to be less choppy then, I took seasick meds and wore wristbands, and had some ginger chews. We chose the Deluxe Power Catamaran and I was fine for the whole trip and was able to fully enjoy this once in a lifetime experience. I cannot recommend this company enough. Seeing the awesomeness of this magnificent coastline was breathtaking. Enjoying the spinner dolphins jumping playfully in and out of the water left me emotional. The trip seems to put the rest of life in perspective and is a wonderful reminder that there is a grand world out there and we are just a tiny part of it. Na Pali Experience made us feel safe and so well taken care of. It is very apparent how much they love this island and that they truly get joy out of bringing their guests an exceptional experience. read more

Our deckhand Casey and our Captain Jane were so amazing! Very friendly, lively and fun! This was the ultimate tour! We are locals from Oahu and was just visiting Kauai for the weekend. so glad my daughter booked this tour on a pontoon boat and NOT on the rafts or on a huge boat! The pontoon boat was perfect for jumping waves and we could even back in and weave through the caves! This tour is about 4 hrs, please bring sunscreen and please be ok using the bathroom in the deep sink! lol The weather was perfect! We got to see many pods of spinner dolphins! We swam with the reef fish, was given snacks and drinks! On the way back, it was full speed ahead, jumping waves but Captain Jane made sure we didn't land them too hard! Casey even cut up some fresh pineapples for everyone to enjoy! This experience was fantastic and highly highly recommend captain Jane and Casey!
