    Roti

Took out a couple of dishes for lunch. They did an extra good job of packing, ensuring that not one drop of sauce leaked outside of the container. We duplicated our order from a restaurant in Lynden several days earlier: Okra (Bhindi) Masala and Eggplant (Baingan) Bharta. Spice level is 1-5. We got 4, which was a bit too hot for my husband's preferences, so be forewarned, it can be a bit spicy (a good think IMO). Both entrees were like entirely different dishes compared to what we got at the Lynden Indian restaurant. These dishes both had recognizable pieces of food, weren't cooked to death, nor swimming in oil. Spices seemed genuine, and delicious. We also got some roti. It was different from any roti we've had elsewhere. We were split on our opinion of whether or not it was good. I enjoyed it, but my husband thought it was too "un-Roti like", whatever that means.

Don't go here. With so many other authentic Indian places with good portions and fresh food why bother? Naan was obviously microwaved as it was tough and chewy. The portions are extremely small and the sauce is watered down. I had the Malai kofta- ordered it mild and it was almost too hot to eat. The Paneer pakora half order was eight dollars and you just got two little squares. I thought I was being punked when I saw what I was given after I got home. You'll get better food and more for your money elsewhere. The counter service, however, was very good. I do give them that.

    Delicious!

Authentic Indian food, cooked by genuinely lovely and friendly people. Great service. I ordered the Chicken Biryani, Aloo Gobi, and Garlic Naan, oh and a cup of Chai Tea. The portion sizes were massive. It was so delicious. I knew I was full but I just kept saying "one more mouthful, just one more bite!" I ate waaay too much, I could hardly walk when I left, and even then I had enough for two more meals, which I took to eat at home. If you love real Indian Food, this is the place for you. The ambience was relaxed. The food was fragrant, aromatic, plentiful. Each mouthful bursting with lashings of flavor. Absolutely wonderful. I will be back. I want to try everything on the menu. This is now my number one restaurant in Bellingham.

Absolutely amazing! Lamb Karahi, mango chicken, butter chicken, garlic naan, rice. We also had Chicken Pakoras and Mango Lassi. Outstanding!

*chef's kiss* group of nine for dinner and everything was amazing! All things said at the table- can't get enough of it! Can I have more? Excellent service! Scrumdiddlyuptious . Great portion size. TASTY! A no leftovers restaurant. Food comma. We could go on and on!! Pakoras, butter chicken, mango chicken, naan, aloo gobi and more. So delicious and a great place to visit over a fantastic meal!!

Loved this place! The waitress was so kind and warm to our family. The food was excellent, we were really impressed by the flavors and authenticity. If a friend were coming to town, this is the type of place I would like to take them. The ambiance was laid back and casual. The food came out quickly. Our favorite dish was the chicken tikka masala. We also had an EXCELLENT coconut porter, and I could have bathed in it and drank the stuff afterwards and been as happy as a pig in poo. 10/10 will be back.

Freshly baked regular naan (included in the buffet price).

No matter how rich your sauces are, it doesn't disguise frozen vegetables. Garlic naan was good.

Good customer service, good location. Parking and food not so good. And the worst part for me: dairy in the chutney- gag, so gross. Next!

Undercooked my chicken tikka masala. Rice was good as well as the naan. Solid Indian food, but india grill is better.

My companion and I arrived during Happy Hour and these two selections are on that menu, so we had them again--and I guess the utility of this review is to say that these selections continue to be consistently delicious and that this is a wonderful place. We also shared an Afogato--vanilla gelato with decaf espresso poured over! Perfect, quite light after our meal and beautiful enough to paint as a watercolor. This is one of our easy go-to's when looking to dine out. We were happily helped by friendly bartenders, Nicole and Sie, who made great recommendations and great drinks for us. I especially loved the Mario Cicotti cocktail (an interesting variant of an Old Fashioned--including tobacco bitters and charred orange peel!--very interesting). And we enjoyed the beautiful, warm Montepulciano Nicole recommended. And they concocted a surprise drink for my dessert--I can't recall what it was--but it was lovely and came with a bunch of hearts! Consistently wonderful place in all ways, with lots of heart itself. In my opinion, what's not to love?

We saw some people exiting Goat Mountain and were able to snag their empty seats at the bar. Lucky us! And not only for the seats. We've never been here before, and we had a great time. We ordered the Goat Mountain Salad--huge! A bargain! Varied! Delicious! And I, who has never met a beet that I didn't dislike, was delighted that ingredients were grouped individually so I could avoid those. Wonderful salad! And--for a mere buck--you can order a dressing on the side for anything you want. The buttermilk was delicious. I ordered a slice of the Apple & Bacon pie; my guy, Potato & Bacon. Upon their arrival, our notions of pizza were shattered. These were big slices of cake! (Website says Roman-style--we've been to Rome, but these exquisite things were very different.) Totally yummy. As was the warm chocolate chip cookie--divine. (Funny story: I didn't have my readers on. I thought the price was $25. "That's quite a cookie!" I thought, imagining one as large as a pizza--which, incidentally, would have been more expensive than their full pizzas! I looked over the Happy Hour menu, planning a future return. The cookie on the HH menu was only $2. A savings, I excitedly told our bartenders, Miyuki and Montana, of $23!!! No, they told me: 50 cents. I hadn't been able to see the dot.) And speaking of our barkeeps, I am so glad we sat up at the bar. They were wholly delightful and friendly. We very much enjoyed chatting with them. We felt like we had just moved and this was our new "neighborhood bar." And their recommendations for food and drink were spot on. The Smoke in Mirrors was fantastical! Great place!

The dining room was elegant yet cozy, with great lighting. The staff was also very friendly and our waiter was very helpful in aiding our choice. We ordered the Focaccia bread, the salmon momtadito and the tonnarelli as our entree. The focaccia was the only dissapointing item as it was very basic in my opinion, which isn't bad but just nothing exciting to write about. The appetizer, the salmon montadito, was probably my favorite item of the night. It was served on focaccia bread and drizzled with a truffle honey butter and sat upon a mascarapone yogurt. It was elegant and it was incredibly flavorful. The sweetness of the truffle honey butter was a great contrast to the salmon itself, and all melted together to make an exceptional appetizer. The tonnarelli was a pasta dish we split and was also very tasty. The pasta itself was a thicker spaghetti like pasta served with plenty of crab. It was tasty and it satisfied and I'd likely order it again as I will be back when my sister's visit. All in all, a great restaurant to spend a nice night right in the heart of Bellingham!
