Shaare noww burger was not a burger but a (quite big) wrap & was so-so. It's like a shish wrap but with egg & fries inside. While the shish was alright, the fries weren't crispy at the start & became soggy fast. The hard boiled egg also gave the wrap an odd texture. Medium spicy was almost not spicy at all. Mantu (dumplings) were decent, with a slightly spiced (but not spicy) taste. They were generous with the split peas on top. The white sauce was pretty good. The red sauce was only very slightly spicy & was refreshing, almost fruit like. Service is very warm.

Friendly shop offering a variety of meats, kabobs (duh!) and large dinner plates cooked fresh to order. Liberal on the carbs and the Afghan naan is the best I've had from a kabob place. Outstanding customer service (including options to substitute salads with rice) and solid portion sizes outweigh the limited parking and the slightly long wait time (approx 20 minutes for 4 dinner plates - but I think if you order online they might make it so then you can pick it up once you're there. We ordered over the phone.) Get the waziri! WHAT WE GOT: Chopan (lamb) plate Grilled salmon plate Waziri tandoori dinner plate (chicken breast and shish) Sultani dinner plate (beef tikka and shish) $65.49 tax in WHAT WE LIKED: It smells ridiculously good. If you're grabbing takeout and driving, your mouth will water on the way home! Lamb was solid (make the most of your 4 pieces) Chicken tandoori pieces were juicy and nice. Shish was very tasty. Naan was honestly the best out of all the Afghani restaurants I've had (it is very different from Indian style which is what I usually prefer) WHAT WE DIDN'T: The salad was a standard lettuce and diced tomatos; it wasn't bad but if I get the plate again I'd substitute them for (more) rice. In terms of the protein selection, the beef was a bit dry for my tastes, and the salmon was a bit tangy. WHAT I'D GET NEXT: Chicken Tandoori Wrap for sure. I thought that the tandoori was the best out of the meats I had. I'd try the wrap over the plate mainly because it seems like a higher percentage of the wrap is protein! Since some of the dinner plates had a skewed carb to meat ratio, I would definitely get a double chicken tandoori (or triple? They have specials!) special plate if I was feeling hungry. Or go back to the waziri. PARKING/ENTRANCE/DECOR/SEATING Limited parking but there's a building to the west that I think you might be able to do a quick park and 1 minute walk to grab your stuff and go. Minimalistic, clean vibe. You can tell they put a lot of work into their decor. Homely feel! When it reopens for dine in, I can see it being a popular spot! DISH BY DISH REVIEW Dinner Plate: all of the dinner plates come with basmati rice, DELICIOUS naan, an okay salad, and some sauces (one white yogurt-like one and a red mild spicy sauce) The rice had a light, subtle flavour with the option to use the sauces to spruce it up. It depends on how you like your rice! As noted, the salad wasn't special but the naan is outstanding, especially when freshly made. PROTEINS: Tandoori (as part of waziri): winner! Personally I would get this again. Smoked to an alluring red colour, this is surprisingly tender and juicy, especially considering it's chicken breast meat. Shish (as part of sultani and waziri) solid too. Very easy to cut with a fork and it's seasoned well. Beef (as part of sultani) to be honest, I was a little bit let down here - as implied above, I do like the juicier and more tender cuts, and found the beef a little dry. Chopan (Lamb): very delicious but quantity isn't going to impress. It's four pieces and the bone is on so you're not getting a ton of meat. Having said that, lamb is more expensive to buy so since the price points on these dinner plates are very similar, I understand why you get more chicken for the price. Salmon: same colour as tandoori but a very different flavour profile. It was more tangy (like there's a lot of lemon) and, even though there's a red pepper next to it on the menu (denoting spicy), it was very mild. SERVICE and WASHROOMS. Outstanding service. Didn't go to the washrooms. RATING SCALE 5: I'll be back... with friends and guarantee they enjoy it - or it's on me! 4: I'll be back. 3: Try again on an extra-good deal or special promo 2: Only if a friend insisted or offered to treat... 1: Won't be back.

    Tandoori Waziri

I ordered the Tandoori Waziri and I was pretty happy with it. The spicy chicken breast was very flavourful and I loved it. The ground beef skewer wasn't quite as flavourful but I still really liked it. The "salad" was a little disappointing, since it was literally just lettuce. I didn't like the rice as much as what I've had at other restaurants, I think the cumin flavour was a bit overwhelming. Overall though, it was enjoyable to eat and had a nice variety of flavours.

We have been here many times since their soft opening and this is my second review. We have supported this place multiple times and over time we have seen them cut down on their kabob and portion size. At first we gave them the benefit of the doubt it was a one time off day but it wasn't the case. The meat is now half the size of what it used to be, quality of food have gone down but prices went up. This time we ordered and paid in advance online and came for pick up. We ordered the chicken waziri plate, beef tikka plate and the chicken kabob and fries from the kids menu. The lettuce wasn't dried properly so it was all watery at the bottom of the container. The rice was bland and dry. And for the meat, it has decreased in size incredibly that it was very disappointing upon opening the container. The kids menu included the mango drink and they didn't give it to us. The food was already packed up in the plastic bag when we got there and the guy said, "everything is in the he bag" but obviously that wasn't true. When we came home and opened the bag we noticed it was missing. We have been here multiple times and we feel like they don't appreciate our loyalty supporting local businesses. We just keep coming back being more disappointed than the last so unfortunately this will be the last time we support this location.

Kabob Guys is amazing! Pre ordered via Ritual app and food ready to picked up as scheduled. Beef Tikka Kabob Wrap ($7.99) The beef is tender and well flavoured! I love that taste of right of the grill taste of charcoal! The wrap is not doughy at all but nice and soft. Hot sauce is a must. But I do love it hot. Friendly service!

Ordered two double kabobs: beef, shish, chicken and tandoori. There's quite a good variety of side dishes I'll give them that. However the meat is pretty dry. That's the main item of the menu so I'm pretty disappointed. They happen to be on the way so I thought I'd give them a try but I'll probably just go to my regular spot: shatter abbas which is a bit more out of the way (near harbourfront) but they really deliver on the meat quality and consistency. As an aside the bag they give is super inconvenient and is only marginally better than having no bag at all.

    Grilled salmon plate

Ordered the grilled salmon plate and the zucchini eggplant plate via Ritual. Service was courteous and friendly. The food itself was tasty. The salmon was grilled perfectly with delicious seasoning and the zucchini and eggplant was good too - it had a kick to it. I enjoyed the naan as well, which was warm and crispy. I could not finish the rice though - I think there was a bit too much. Next time, I'll probably just get a wrap.

Kabob Guys Afghan Grill needs to be on my weekly takeout list! These guys really know how to make their customers happy. Chicken breast kabob plate came with rice, salad and naan. Generous rice portions. Very tasty, not bland at all. Extremely flavourful rice. The meat was tender, moist and juicy. Delicious!

Firni, mango smoothie, chicken and beef tikka special plate

If you're looking for kabobs, check these guys out! Had the most satisfying lunch from here! Feast your eyes on their Chicken and Beef Tikka plate. There was no shortage of FLAVOUR here; even the rice was tasty! The meat was tender and juicy and oh so good The portion was great too and I even had leftovers for later! Don't leave without their Firni and mango shake too. So delish and the perfect pair to this yummy savoury dish! Kabob Guys is known for their friendly customer service. I was fortunate to meet Baktash, the owner, and you can tell how passionate he is about the restaurant. This is one spot you need to add to your Scarborough list! They were nominated by Global News Toronto as one of Toronto's favorite restaurants. They were also ranked 3rd best kabob restaurant by BlogTO! It's no surprise as they know how to make good food that hits the spot! Will definitely be back! :)

Chaplee plate (sorry already started choking down haha)
    Sharon Y.

Update June 5 2019 Ordered the chaplee plate and I'm so impressed!! The portion is HUGE...the chaplee (spiced beef patty) was so big...way bigger portions than naan and Kabob and all around everything was delicious. I asked for extra white and red sauce as usual. The box was packed to the brim and everything was ready for pickup through the ritual app. Everything was efficient.

Hello foodies , today I was doing some shopping in Scarborough and I was in the area  of this restaurant and with a name like kabob Guys how can you not give it a try. The place is located just a few blocks on the south side, just east of Kennedy Rd on Sheppard Ave East in a small plaza with some adequate parking spots. The restaurant is nice and clean with a kind of a slight industrial design inside. The place has some seating inside and a very small patio with two tables outside for dining in the fresh air. The owner is a younger Afghani gentlemen, very friendly and I spent some time chatting with him and his helper at the counter she was also exceptionally friendly and they spent some time really explaining the Afghani cuisine to me as this was my first time eating Afghani cuisine, super nice people who really take pride in their food and culture. I ended up ordering one of their lunch plates that included grilled beef kabob with rice, lettuce salad, tomato salad, Afghani bread, a yogurt based dipping sauce for the meat and a  hot sauce , plus  they were so wonderful that they through in a complementary drink and desert pudding they call Green Fermi pudding. This pudding is unique to the owners region of Afghanistan were he comes from and apparently the only restaurant in town you can get this from according to the owner. Food 5/5 my fellow foodies let's start with their highly seasoned flavorful Afghani style rice, it was fluffy light, fragrant you could really taste the Cardamom, the cumin and even some cinnamon, Just really amazing rice. The tomato salad was a very unique touch to this lunch plate as you don't see this type salad much it's pretty rare, finally chopped firm tomatoes with onions and parsley and drizzled with lemon I believe, really delicious, and great combo with the  meat and rice. The Kabob meat was also very well-seasoned and nicely grilled, tender and juicy top notch flavor. The white yogurt based sauce I believe it was just really stood out in unique flavor it went so  well with the meat , I could taste a minty  or even maybe some dill  flavor but just a really delicious dipping sauce a real winner. They also provided a mild hot sauce that was also very nice in flavor and not overpowering. The Afghani bread was also very nice very similar to the Greek thicker pita bread in flavor and taste I really enjoyed it, a must try. Now the star of the meal was that incredible tasting Fermi Pudding I have never tasting anything like it but it was almost like a rice pudding but not so sweet and different texture just superb and a must try at this restaurant. Service 5/5 Guys a lot of restaurants could a lesson in customer service from this place , again the staff was  just so wonderful and friendly and passionate about their food and their customers , A+ service, the food was packaged really nice  the presentation was also  great and the prices for the generous portion was really good as well. Guys if you're in the area get out and support this restaurant they will provide you with some pretty wonderful food and treat you right.

We ordered through SkipTheDishes for pickup for the following: Beef Tikka Kabob Platter Chaplee Kabob Platter I was really looking forward to it because I love Afghan food..from Kandahar Kabob to Nan & Kabob. I've eaten it all. When we came home, I couldn't wait and tried a little bit of the rice and it was bland. Usually Kabuli rice is very flavourful. Anyway, no harm.. I dug into my Chaplee Kabob Platter and it was just not that great. I was really disappointed with the whole meal. The flavours were just not right and overall the meal was bland. The chaplee was not spiced correctly. I ended up eating half and gave the other half to my husband to finish. Portion wise - you do get a lot but I really think I got a bad order. I might try it again.

Sultani Kabob Plate w +salad as rice substitute

New-ish place at Sheppard and Kennedy (6month old). The place looks nice and clean. The cashier/order taker was very friendly and chatty... The food is, i'd say, about 8/10. We ordered sultani kabob (beef and shish), and Chopan (lamb chops). The beef was tender, tho wanted a bit more moisture on the shish. My hubby preferred his lamb. Portion wise i think i prefer the size of Bamiyan Kabob... We also had the firni which is our favourite Afghan dessert. I may order delivery sometime in the future...

I thought thirds time a charm, but it didn't work, I got the Lawrence plate 12.99 they give a lot…read moreof food but the bbq sauce was way too overpowering, and it had a bitter after taste, I called them and the order was ready pretty quickly they did do a renovation it looked a lot better inside, but yeah the taste of the Lawrence plate was not good at all, the way they make it look on social media, and real life completely different. I think bbq sauce on shawarma should be illegal, it doesn't work at all. I thought Johnny Shawarmas was a lot better than this. This is the last time I will come to Aleppo kabob price wasn't bad for the amount of food they give you but taste was not good at all.

What just happened?…read more I used to love this place. In fact, I would drive 30 minutes each way just to pick up some of those tasty kebabs and that unforgettable garlic sauce. The food was so full of flavour and care, it stood out among Toronto's many Middle Eastern options. Lately, I'd been seeing a lot of their mouthwatering Instagram videos--chicken shawarma piled high, platters being loaded up with garlic sauce and fries, etc.... What can I say? The marketing worked. I started thinking about Aleppo Kebab and decided to order some for lunch via Uber Eats. Unfortunately, the meal fell flat. The shawarma was bland, and flavourless. The rice, once fragrant and almost biryani-like, was now just plain and forgettable. The salad was not dressed, the garlic dip tasted like it came out of a can, and the sujuk rolls were coated in a chalky flour residue that made them unappetizing. I'm not sure if this was just an off day or a more systemic issue. But every part of the meal was underwhelming. It's disappointing, especially when I know what they're capable of. They've clearly stepped up their marketing game--but if the food doesn't live up to the hype, no amount of social media will keep people coming back. I'll give it one more try before writing it off completely, but here's hoping the Aleppo Kebab I once raved about makes a comeback. Until then, 2 stars is fair.
