Nabu Energy Review TL;DR - I highly recommend Nabu Energy for solar because it was a pleasure to work with them as they proved to be honest, trustworthy, economical and friendly. Detailed review - I'm a tough customer. I do my own homework, tend to know what I want and expect an investment of this magnitude to be both quality and "beautiful". My plan was an oversized solar system to cover a future EV and battery-ready to work with the EVs battery (V2H or V2G). I also wanted to accomplish this only on the "backside" of my roof which is not visible from the street. I'm picky. I had already vetted 3 other vendors and only reached out to Nabu because my research suggested I should consider Solaredge inverters as well as Enphase microinverters and the other vendors really didn't do Solaredge. Nabu did both. I spoke with "Harsh" and we immediately hit it off. He was not salesy at all. He listened to my requirements. I liked that he challenged my ideas based on his experience, but didn't treat me like he knew everything and I knew nothing. After educating me on many things over a few calls, he provided some options and returned with a quote quickly (day or two). I know quotes include a buffer for things to go wrong and was surprised at the low quote. I asked about it and he said they were focused on building a customer base for future solar- related products and therefore had less built-in profit than others. I generally don't like low-ballers, but I chose to believe his explanation. I have no problem with a "fair" price and want companies to make enough profit to stay in business and provide customer support. There were a few "differences of opinion" during the planning and work phase, but they were all understandable and based on their desire to provide the system I wanted and doing it in a way that would pass inspection, work for years and look good. Each time the whole team was responsive, honest, trustworthy and thorough. They made smart recommendations and assumptions based on experience and knowledge, which I appreciated. For example, their model did not show that more panels would fit. I wanted more. They were concerned about permitting, wind buffeting panels placed at the edge of the roof and other legitimate concerns. I appreciated their thoroughness and raising issues I wouldn't have thought of. I was able to speak directly to their engineers on this occasion and others and everyone was friendly and down to earth. We were all dealing with families, COVID, supply chain craziness. Unlike with some bigger companies, I felt like I could discuss things with their team as real people and not robots from the corporate office. In the end, I got all the panels I wanted, the software monitoring I wanted and the installation looks "beautiful" (for a solar installation ;-). Everything is painted to match the house with space left for the expected V2H hardware I'll need in the future. Over the time, I built good relationships with their engineers, the installation manager and brought strawberries to the installation team who were diligent, careful and surprisingly knowledgeable. It's been about 3 months since PG&E started crediting my solar and the system exceeds expectations. I've never met a perfect contractor nor seen a perfect contracting job. But exceeding expectations and being honest/trustworthy goes a long way with me. I don't make many recommendations, but feel confident in recommending Nabu because they're friendly, respect customers and seek to run an honest business. read more

One of my friend(s) recommended Nabu Energy as I was looking for solar panel(s) / installation talking to different solar panel vendors during Oct/Nov 2020 timeframe. I got in touch with Harsh Kieth from Nabu Energy then. He came down to our house , tried to understand our requirements , discussed our futuristic needs, also took into consideration our electric usage historically and then came up with the recommendation for the no of solar panels . He also emphasized on the quality and technology of the solar panels (Solaria) that Nabu Energy does install. Typically the solar panels are 330/370 KW. Solaria has a superior technology and new advanced panels are 400 KW. Pricing was far better than the well know players in the market at that point of time. So, we decided to sign the dotted line of the contract and went ahead with the purchase. So in the Dec 2020, the installation work was done, it was awesome , 2 straight days and done with all details taken care to perfection. They also followed up post activation of panels from PGE to make sure all is running fine as expected. I highly recommend to use their services if you are looking to get solar panels on your roof. I had a great experience with Nabu Energy LLC for my solar installation. From the beginning, everything was clear and professional with no sales pressure. I want to especially mention Bhushan, who was incredibly transparent during the contract negotiations. My experience with Nabu Energy has been excellent, I've talked to several companies and mostly with their sales personnel. Nabu has engineers, NOT sales personnel with commissions and a typical sales pitch. They provided a quote and the final price after the project was completed was the same price, no surprises. Nabu engineer clearly explained the grounding work required to bring the house to code and the PGE installation process for the Tesla switch installation. From the contract signed to PGE approval, it took about 2 months. Out of the two months Nabu Energy took two days to install and one day for city inspection.
