NADC is tough to evaluate. The Wednesday night I was there, there were no customers in the store. Service was very quick and friendly. The store was understandably very clean and orderly around 9:30 PM. I ordered the Happy Hour special, double cheeseburger and fries for $18 and a bottle of water was five bucks extra, roughly $25 after taxes. Nice atmosphere with an open front side to the street around the corner from the Six Train at Spring Street, Cleveland Place and Lafayette. NADC is another smashed burger spot, joining the legions of smashed burger joints in NYC, but the meat is not nearly smashed to smithereens as we see elsewhere. The meat is advertised as 100 percent Japanese Wagyu beef, not American as oft seen. The fatty nature of Wagyu on the griddle produces oil that some may find greasy, but the richness of the meat was challenging to eat completely. I ordered a double with cheese. Most doubles are nothing, but this is substantial and very filling. A single patty would likely satisfy most people. The jalapeno peppers and pickles are needed to counter this level of richness. Their special sauce lends very little I could detect. Their ketchup has a little spice to kick I could not identify. It may be a touch of horseradish, but a very light touch. This ketchup goes well with the generous serving of fries. The fries were crispy outside and fluffy inside, but not as remarkable as one would think. In fact, that summarizes what I think overall. 100 percent Japanese Wagyu sounds great, but the result is not as remarkable as one would expect; though, this was one of the most filling burgers I have eaten...ever. I have to say what a good burger! It almost became my number one, but then again I did eat it the next day. It still was very good. It was cooked just the way I liked and when all of the extra ingredients I love to have on a burger. The thing I loved most about this burger, was as that the actual meet had flavor. Most burger meet is disguised by all of the toppings, but this you can taste the patty was well seasoned. As for the fried I was not a big fan of, but I would definitely go back for that all beef juicy patty. I finally tried this viral burger and it was good. Now, if you ask me if I would come all the way from Jersey to eat it, probably not. It can be comparable to a 7th street or a Shake Shack burger. Service was great, friendly and quick. The menu is super simple, straight forward. Burger was flavorful with all the right ingredients like pickles and cheese that paired perfectly with the juicy meat. Loved the crunchiness of the fries and to be fair, the place can be a little pricey for the burgers but the amount of fries they serve per order is enough for two people. I've made my way around most of the new burger spots in the city, but had always just missed this one so I finally made the plans to check it out! Solid burger and fries both - the fries in beef tallow have an extra crispness to them, which I liked. The burger is good, but I couldn't super taste the difference of the wagyu, at least enough to fully justify the price personally over some of the other very burger places nearby. They have a very spacious outdoor space out back, which I really enjoyed! Overall, a solid spot for burger and fries. Went here last night and got their signature burger. The shop looks like a hole in the wall but there was actually a lot of great seating inside and they have a nice back outdoor area. We are big 7th street fans so were really excited to try this new spot. I thought it was great! The flavors were so prominent in a good way, definitely a new spin on a fast food Smashburger with its elevated and slightly more upscale flavors. It is comparable to 7th street in the way that NADC has better quality meat, but I don't think the two smashburgers are hitting the same demographic. I think this is 1 of the best burgers in the city. The beef flavor from the beef tallow comes through in both the burger and fries. The fries are super crispy, yet thick, which makes them exceptional compared to almost any other fries period. The burger was so juicy that I just kept wanting to eat more bordering on ordering a second burger. I'll start with this: the selling point here may be the oasis-like back deck in what is a very dense and noisy part of town. The burger holds its own in a crowded burger scene. As someone who spent $1000 at Five Guys last year, if you can't tell the difference in taste between a Five Guys patty and one of the Wagyu patties at NADC, you have no business writing reviews. The difference is obvious, and the prices are--SURPRISE!--pretty much the same as Five Guys'. One concern is whether this is supposed to be a smash burger or if it's 5gbnf-inspired. I say this because the burger I received didn't look like the (floppy) smash-style burger on their website, it looked like a 5gbnf burger. TBH, I think McDonalds has more flavor and balance. The two flavorless hatched (not smashed) patties slid around a greasy roll that flattened to less than a quarter inch. Service was fast not sure if this place is classified as a fast food joint but my order came out quickly and it was a busy Saturday. The food is a bit pricey especially if you do the fries and soda. Just tried this place after seeing the Instagram reels. I went to the soho location. I was really looking forward to this burger after seeing all the hype about this place. I have had smash burgers all over the world and I think some of the best smash burgers are in London and Sweden so I was more than ready to see what they had to offer. The order didn't take long to get but I didn't like that the server girl wasn't wearing any hair protection on her head. To my disappointment...the burger was horrible....very greasy I had to keep using napkins to wipe my lips and tongue. The meat tasted very bland and once again "no flavor" the bun was sub par at best. I didn't even finish my burger. I threw the rest out. I'm spellbound by this burger. It's been on my list for a few weeks to do a head to head same day burger tasting between here and a competitor which shall not be named. Let's just say, both burgers hit but NADC is still in my dreams. This burger was soooo delicious, sooop juicy, and the most perfect tasting meat patty I've literally ever had. I met some of the guys at Yea Chef and they were troopers despite us getting absolutely soaked. I can say, I'd stand in a downpour for this burger. I'm literally baffled by any negative comments. NADC is an EXCELLENT BURGER!!! I DO NOT understand the low ratings. The wagyu fat melts into the burger so well and the pickles and jalapeno's provide excellent acid to cut through it. I love the special sauce as well. I didn't try the beast mode fries, but I'm generally not a fan of that particular combo especially when I take on 2 double burgers. I opted for the regular fries, which were perfectly salted & super crispy. I asked if they could throw a slice of cheese as well and they happily obliged! I prefer these heftier fries to the stringier ones at Gotham, 7th Street, K.O., Hamburger America, Highlife or Paper Plate burger. I went Saturday at 7pm and they were absolutely slammed but I still got my food in about 15 minutes. Yes, it was a tight kitchen and there was a woman running expo shouting orders to the kitchen, but it reminded me of the old school diners and drive-ins; like a childhood favorite of mine: Glenwood in Connecticut: "2 dogs, 1 lob roll, 4 cheese, two of those no pickle!!!" It was crowded but there was a pretty fast turnover. Also I loved that you could add your own chipotle ketchup and special sauce in the front. I'm coming back regularly for sure for the shakes. Was walking in the neighborhood and saw this new place opened and wanted to try it for a quick, casual bite. They were filming this documentary? with everyone surrounding the back. No one came to take my order for a good amount of time. I ordered a kids cheeseburger ($8) that was just cheese, patty, and bread since the other burger seemed a little pricy ($16) for a quick bite. I was the only one waiting for my order and it took over 20 minutes, which was a lot longer than expected. The burger tasted good and not greasy compared to 7th street. Wasn't sure if I could tell the difference between wagyu and regular beef patty.
