So pleased to have found Nadia Cakes in my neighborhood in Woodbury just five minutes from our house. We just moved so I wanted to grab some treats for my partner who had been lifting a lot for this move. We're both super sore but this is a nice treat for the end of the night! I'm very sad to write this review. I ordered a special 60th birthday cake, started the process 5 weeks in advance. The order was a custom order placed on their website (via email). Communication was lacking, it took longer than their 48 hours advertised to get back to me. First time it was 3 days, second time it was a week (I also stopped by in person and left a written message to give me a call), this last time it's been a week and I haven't heard a word. I ordered a white cake (not yellow)...the cake decorator Karalee indicated they only have white vanilla cake, they do not have a yellow cake so not to worry. Order was for chocolate buttercream and raspberry buttercream (specifically said not preserves) with chocolate writing. See photo for what was received: white writing, raspberry preserves (not buttercream), and yellow cake. I was a little surprised at pick up with the white writing, but whatever. I was very disappointed when we cut into it later that night. For $100 and an 8 inch cake, I would expect to receive what I ordered. I called and asked to speak to a manager before I left a negative review with my experience. Alyssa said there wasn't one there. I asked to leave a message to have a manager call me back. She said that wasn't possible. Is there no manager?? So I emailed Karalee the cake decorator a week ago who said she would speak to the manager to make this right. I haven't heard a word. There is no communication with customers at this store which is disappointing. Cake tasted fine, it just wasn't what I ordered nor expected. My work offered to buy us some sort of dessert for winning at award at work. I chose these unicorn poop cupcakes. The unicorn poop itself is hard, which is not my favorite. But it was sent to Chicago from MN, and I was surprised by how moist and yummy it still was. The colors are so bright and I'm impressed they were even able to get it that bright. It tasted like a vanilla cupcake. And it was one of the best cupcakes I have ever had even though I didn't like the unicorn poop, so that says a lot! They packaged it with ice packs and a bag that sort of seals in the cold. My door man had put the package on its side and stuff and the cupcakes were not messed up, so they do a really good job at making sure the cupcakes are still really high quality and not messed up when they ship them to you! read more

I have been to this location several times and every time, the service is perfect. Every worker always greets you with a smile and patiently waits for you to pick which cupcakes you want - because let's face it - you want them all, but your wallet can't afford it and you're indecisive. I've tried many of their cupcake flavors and I keep going back to the filled ones - lemon drop and salted caramel. I also love the strawberry and triple chocolate and the cheesecake one. Honestly, you can't go wrong. Everything is amazing. The cake is moist and the frosting has so much flavor and it holds its shape. It even freezes well - if you feel like attempting to be healthy and saving the remainder of what you didn't eat. I apparently don't have that much self control. Their price sign said $4+ something cents and they charged me $6+ instead and the thing looked like it had been sitting there for days. The cupcakes are colorful works of art and they taste as good as they look! The first thing I noticed when I walked in the door is the shop is definitely feminine and girly. Everywhere I looked there was pink, silver, gold, doilies, and paisleys. They even have an oversized pink sofa! There's a jumbo poster on one of the windows promoting the owner's latest romance novel. You get the idea. The two of us hung out for over an hour and I was the only male the entire time. Despite the girly digs, I highly recommend Nadia Cakes -- even if you're a big burly alpha male. The cupcakes are colorful and beautiful. The rainbow of colors is mirrored by a smorgasbord of flavors. Many of the cupcakes incorporate some sort of interesting booze. That seems to be their main shtick. Very cool. The cheesecake lived up to the hype--I will forever be comparing every bite to the memory of that perfect morsel. But the salted caramel is what melted my taste buds and made me an addict. Most salted caramel is all caramel and no salt. Not so with Nadia Cakes' little pillow of perfection. Stopped at this location for some birthday cupcakes. The place was just brimming with attitude from the sales staff and customers. Sales people just seemed put off at questions which was a big turn off. Bought a four pack of cupcakes, none of which really blew us away. They were dry inside and overpowered with frosting not to mention pricey. I don't mind paying for really good cupcakes if they deliver in taste, but these were just kind of meh. Went on an early Friday afternoon for the first time and they still had a huge selection. We were originally going to buy 2 cupcakes but we saw that they had a couple 4-pack boxes of day old cupcakes at $5 when typically the cupcakes are $3.50 each. We decided to go with that option. Upon trying them, I think that overall they all tasted good but not amazing. The most interesting one was definitely the chocolate stout. The beer flavor came through nicely in the frosting and the dough. I did find the frosting to be way too sweet for all of them but especially on the carrot cake. I don't think that I'd ever pay full price for their cupcakes and I'm not rushing back but I am happy I tried them once. If I ever had a special occasion maybe I'd come back. read more

I had heard how good their cakes were and I was not disappointed! They had 6 - SIX - gluten free flavors and another 4 gluten AND dairy free flavors. I was in heaven. I got the gluten free chocolate chip cookie dough cupcake and it was delicious. A lot of times, gluten free treats are either way too dry or way too moist. This particular recipe was spot on. You couldn't even tell it was gluten free! I loved it and will be back for more. The folks I was with who are not gluten free we're raving about their cupcakes as well.
