$5 donuts?! Highway robbery. No donut is worth $5. Buyer beware. They don't post their prices in store for obvious reasons. The owner's response is comical BS. "Hand laminated"??? You're full of s**t. Also, the owner sells stale products. One "monkey bread" item had to be doused in butter to make them edible. Hard and stale. No bakery in the country sells this stuff for $5. Sweet Beet is a great local bakery - 4 stars! I stopped in just before closing so everything was sparse and picked over. But I still found plenty of varieties to sample and to get an idea of what Sweet Beet whips up in the back kitchen. I picked 6 completely different pastries, everything from an apple strudel to a giant oatmeal cookie cream sandwich. They were very good, wonderful flavors. The seasonable Halloween stuff was in a separate case. I really got a kick out of these bright, festive baked goods. There was one all-star masterpiece that really stood out. They have something called the "Carnivorous Chocolate Cherry Pie" (see photo). Wow - this thing is a work of art! They told me it takes over 5 hours to craft one of these scary monsters - very cool! There was only one pastry that I didn't love, the gluten free chocolate raspberry cake (or bar). It was kinda dry and crumbly...because gluten is the sticky glue that holds breads and pastries together. It's a fact that's hard to get around as a baker. Fortunately, I don't have a problem with gluten. But if you have Celiac Disease, I guess you eat what's safe in order to get your pastry fix...even if it's a little crumbly. My only gripe - and it's a minor one - is they don't offer any coffee. The girl behind the counter told me the Espresso machine was broken and probably wasn't going to be replaced. But I think they should offer some basic drip coffee and that would suffice & make most people happy (like me). It's hard to imagine any bakery without hot coffee on hand. Called from Idaho to have a nice cupcake with a candle delivered to my mother's 93rd Birthday at the Deerfield by the hospital in NR. They said they didn't have a delivery service, however they would drop the cupcake on her way out of town after work. I asked her to make it special for my mom's birthday. This review is actually for the Hudson location. Ever since Sweet Beet opened, it is our favorite bakery to go to in Hudson! They have an amazing variety of baked goods. If you go in to the store and see they have Croixnuts or some special flavored Croixnuts, just get them. You won't regret it. They're awesome. My favorite item so far has been the tiramisu Croixnut. The staff is so friendly with us and our kids as well. It's a fabulous bakery!! read more

My kids and I enjoy coming here occasionally before school for some special treats, however, they only have 2 chairs and a very small table if you want to eat it there, I understand there is limited space. I usually order the apple fritters which are always great, and of course my kids get the donuts with sprinkles. read more

I appreciate that they are working hard to get their business to standards, but not owning up has now lost all my respect. I too own a business here in new Richmond and have a Facebook page, and if you can reply, you can delete and control your own reviews. A simple apology would have been enough because people want honesty, not fake. And I will change my review when I see the business and character of the owners grow. Until then I'm still unhappy However, the presentation when coming into their bakery is delightful. One of my employees brought some danish type item and they were a little better than what I have had. I'm waiting for that OMG wow factor from scratch taste. read more

The staff is super sweet and helpful but the items just are not quite up to par, especially for somewhere that claims to offer certain items to cater to dietary restrictions. They have not been open very long, and I am willing to give them the benefit of doubt that they will get better in time, but in the current state it was pretty "meh" at best. The gluten free vegan scone was rock hard and had so many chocolate chips in it that I could not taste the other flavors. Don't get me wrong, I looooooove chocolate, but I was expecting banana chocolate. The gluten free vegan cinnamon crumb cake was tasty but I think there was a bit too much baking soda or something as it left my tongue tingly. It was very good with coffee. Sadly, I did have some issues after eating here. I have celiac and a dairy allergy so it could have been simple cross contamination or just too much sugar. I informed the staff that I had been experiencing severe pain in my back (often the first sign for me that I have eaten something my body is rejecting), belching, and vomiting. The staff was incredibly understanding and sweet about the entire ordeal. I'm not upset with the bakery but I do feel that it should be noted. These people hacked my ebay account ad bought themselves 35,000 instagram followers. I have screenshots to prove it. When I tried to stop the order by messaging the seller to stop the order, the hacker locked me out of the account, desperate to get those followers. The hacker said they were getting this for their wife, I'm a straight woman who has never been married, I have never had a wife nor have I ever given anyone else access to my account for that matter. I reported their instagram and commented letting people know how corrupt they were. Finally their instagram got shut down. These people are crooks. After reading another negative review, I see they're idiots too. When someone said the food wasn't fresh they replied a rude response, in it stating that their food was frozen after being made fresh. FROZEN ISN'T FRESH. STEALING FROM PEOPLE IS ILLEGAL. There are better businesses out there that deserve your business. I'll be leaving this similar review wherever else I can. I stopped in late Saturday morning, the selection was scarce by then, but I bought a ham/cheese croissant and a boiled pear danish. The croissant was AMAZING! I used to live in Europe and instantly I knew the European taste, I really enjoyed that. The pear danish was very good as well. We LOVE this bakery. Everything is great but their croissants are amazing. My husband loves all the savory options as he's not a huge sweets man. We ordered items for delivery at a friend's cabin for an easy breakfast and they were not only dropped off earlier than expected but when the delivery person wasn't sure if she had the right place she called and left a message.
