Went for dinner on a tues. Ordered a large beer and then went to the food. We started with the incredible tuna $14.50 which was ok. It is basically a large lump of spicy tuna surrounded by seared tuna slices. The problem was that the tuna was swimming in a bowl of sauce which caused it to dissolve into nothing. Not to mention this caused the dish to be extremely salty which detracted from the flavor of the tuna. I think this dish could be a lot better if executed differently. Then the gyoza tasty but came out sitting in more salty sauce which caused them to turn into mush. Again sauce for gyoza is on the side. We had a ginger salad again swimming in dressing which was also salty. Do you see a pattern? Soggy and salty. Needed to order the miso soup 3 times and it came out late. I asked for a spicy crunchy tuna and wanted them to put pepper tuna on top. They said they couldn't do that. I was really? So I order a pepper tuna app and a spicy tuna roll. The pepper tuna was good and came in a bowl with cucumbers radish seaweed quite appealing but then it was swimming in a bowl of salty SAUCE! Ok I am used to getting a plate with sauce on it but this was a bowl with a 1/4 to 1/2 an inch of sauce. The no name roll was good and the double double roll was very tasty. We also ordered chicken katsu which was executed very well. Very crunchy and not salty. After eating here I was thirsty the rest of the day. On the whole you won't get bad fish here but these correctable things would improve the dishes. If done then the 3 stars could be a 4. read more

The best sushi in the area for sure and have not found better in Long Island . Super fresh and I judge my food by the sashimi because anyone can hide less than fresh fish by adding lots of ingredients in a roll. The menu is great but not necessary in my opinion because they will make whatever you want . The basic house salad has the greatest dressing ever. My family and friends having been coming here since the opening and we absolutely love it . I saw a few negative comments that I felt like replying to and most of them are one offs such as items missing from delivery orders etc. They have nothing to do with the amazing food! read more

to get better sushi, one would have to leave the island and head to nyc and/or japan. fish here is always fresh, always well prepared. the wait could be a bother sometimes. still, its no excuse to give up and go to yummy-yummy next door. though many cant tell chinese from japanese, its important to remember: just because they look oriental, does not mean they know how to properly prepare sushi. there is more to it than simply throwing a piece of raw fish over some rice. be patient with nagahama, and you will be rewarded with some great food. the deco is simple, but much approved from the kitchy decorations of the past. the place can get noisy when busy on weekends, but its always good family fun. read more

Good sushi, a little pricey, but their ingredients are always fresh. They have a 25 dollar minimum delivery fee, which is easy for some , but not for me, it's a good place to have dinner in LB, but the place is a bit cramped. They stopped carrying yamagobo , a vegetarian root which they used to have and they used to put in vegetable rolls, so we kinda stopped going, but definitely try this place, it is very good. read more

Hands down one of my favorite sushi places. Very fresh fish. Have been here several times and have never been disappointed. Steamed shumai to start is one of my favorites or edamame. Then i will usually have the black dragon with brown rice or monica/ cori / no name roll. Love sitting at the bar so you can talk to the chefs and watch them make the food. Staff is very accommodating. Such a great place so usually a wait and a little pricey but definitely worth it! read more

The food was fine, but the service made it difficult to appreciate. I did not receive what I had ordered, but was unable to get my waitresses attention to do anything about it. Not a big deal, so I ate the food anyway (when I received my bill, I was billed for the higher priced item that I did order and not the lower priced item that I received instead.) My date had ordered a sashimi plate that was weak, mostly a bowl of rice with very little meat. Considering the price, we had expected better. When we had paid in cash, a waitress (not the one who took our order) took our money and asked us if we wanted change. We did, and after ten minutes she did not return. At this point it wasn't worth trying to chase down our money and we left. read more

The food here is great but the tables are on top of one another so there's zero privacy or comfort. Too boot, it's not uncommon to find the sushi bar full because a family with kids (who barely eat) are using the seats. I don't agree with this and think the families should be seated solely at the tables so that adults who spend more and eat faster have access, especially since the place is pricey. read more

the staff was friendly, disappointed that a cup of hot green tea came with a $1.00 charge. A roll that was ordered came with a piece of rubber band and the cucumber was not peeled all the way. They did care about the piece of rubber band but not enough. read more

I guess people who have gave 4-5 stars never have been to a amazing Japanese place. This place was absolutely horrible. My first time going I spent 40 minutes waiting. The whole entire place was packed and people were screaming at each other it was so loud. I can deal with that honestly a place people come to enjoy and eat good food I figured let it go. I got my food and it was absolutely horrible. They don't use traditional Japanese seasoning I guess? The noodles were absolutely disugsting and how could you screw that up? They sat me and my date who weren't even ordering or eating sushi at the sushi bar. There was people on top of us literally it ruined the entire night. I could not even move my arms to eat I kept bumping into the drunk guy who kept ordering sushi from the bar. I gave it a second try when it was less calm and once again the food was disgusting and the waitress this time was rude and taking forever. I just don't understand people, go to Kashi in RVC and really experience some amazing Japanese food. read more

OVER PRICED! The charged me for a side of spicy mayo after i ordered over a $125 worth of food. They also claim they are open til 11 but when I tried calling at 10:35pm one night they said they were closed. They know nothing about customer service and everything about taking our hard earned money. The food is decent but the facts stated above will keep me from coming back or recommending anybody. Poor business ethics, if I am going to spend close to a days pay on food i expect better service! Hnads down the best sushi place on Long Island, the only problem is that you can't get in.It's always so crowded.

We ordered take out from this place twice in the past month and BOTH times they screwed up our order. The worst part about it was when we called back to tell them, the employees said "there is nothing we can do about it" or, when I asked to speak with a manager then man said "I am the closest thing you are going to get to a manager." The food is pretty good, but the employees are rude and have zero knowledge of proper customer service . The first time we ordered take out, my boyfriend waited 30 minutes longer than the quoted time for pickup before they admitted to him that they gave someone else our order. Then, they said it was easier to give us a refund rather than make our order over again. Next, instead of giving us a refund, as promised, they "accidentally" charged us twice. My boyfriend had to wait 3 days before he got a refund (which was double of what it should have ever been.) We decided to give them a second chance, and they forgot an item in our order again. When I called the second time, the woman said "sorry, there is nothing we can do about it." We will never go back. read more
