How do you go wrong with a location that is very small, caters mostly to to go orders, takes them through an app for pick up, including free offers if you spend x-amount, gets the entire order right, does last minute add-ons and has extra (amazing) house dressing packs ready to go if you want more than 1 at the last minute...oh, and the roll is like $7? We ordered between 3 of us 5 rolls and additional items. I LOVED my (New) Black Pepper Tuna Roll, sub soy paper, no wasabi, with green salad. Were looking for something light until we could get to dinner. Such a treat! Cousin is a regular, and they treated her great, acknowledging her continued business. Everything was 1 minute from being ready when we arrived. Packaging was very functional and not more than needed. House dressing was as promised - something I would want to dip/put on everything. The staff are friendly and courteous; they do enforce social distancing, wear of masks and they do provide hand sanitizer for their customers. It's a hole in the wall and it's a gem. Came here for lunch on a early Thursday afternoon. We were the only ones there so the service was great. My sister and I got the three- roll lunch special. I got the spicy crunchy tuna, shrimp tempura and Boston roll. She got the salmon and avocado, shrimp tempura and another salmon roll who's name I can't remember. It was all DELICIOUS!!! What a great little sushi place! Judging by appearance, you wouldn't expect much, but once you eat here you will understand the greatness that is this little hole in the wall. We ordered the Shumai, and the Kani Salad for our appetizer, both were delicious. The Kani Salad was perfectly dressed, not overly mayo-ey, it was also a good portion. The Shumai was amazing, just get it. For our rolls we ordered the Bruce Roll, the Fantastic Roll, the Riverhead Roll and the New York Yankee. They were all pretty big rolls and the fish was fresh, no fishy taste to speak of. My boyfriend said the spicy tuna, was the best he's had. I'm no judge for spicy tuna, it's not in the realm of foods I enjoy, but he often orders it, so I guess you can trust him. The prices at this place are extremely fair. only a few of the special rolls exceed eleven bucks, most being about nine. The lunch specials are also definitely worth checking out. They also serve complimentary edamame, which is a nice touch. I only have a few criticisms, the avocado was a tad bit under ripe, though still edible and didn't ruin the rolls. Most of the special rolls had some sort of spicy tuna, not my favorite. And the soy sauce tasted smoky, definitely not used to that, my boyfriend didn't even notice, though. Took a chance on this place last night. Big mistake. I usually go to my regular place, Komo, in Bellmore Village area where you can always count on good reasonably priced sushi. I ordered a few basic spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and spider rolls along with some Sashimi pieces over what was supposedly sushi rice (Hint, it wasn't. Just some flavorless poorly cooked rice with some fish powder over them. ) Everything tasted decent. The size of the rolls were not too small, just really sloppily put together. However, the spider roll was questionable. Seems like they need to learn how to make it properly. It's just wasn't done right. It's a pretty small kitchen that you're able to look straight into behind the sushi chef. You can definitely tell the place looked filthy. The possibility of critters crawling around is extremely likely. I highly doubt they can pass a health inspection. They definitely need to step up their game in terms of cleanliness and go back to school and learn how to make sushi properly.
