The entire place was so calm and nice. A kid also plays the piano there and it is relaxing. The food is very good with very good ramen, soup, beef, sushi and many, many other great food options. If you had to write down all the good food the have, it would be a mile long. The service is very good and the value is very good for the quality food they have. The wait time I have to say is actually a lot shorter than I thought. When I got to Hibachi and other restaurants the wait time is very long. This restaurant however is an exception with very low wait time. I recommend this restaurant for you. read more

Ordered through GrubHub last night and the tip did not go through initially. I updated the amount in the app, and the delivery person kept pointing at the total charge. Arguments aside on how much to tip - please know that the restaurant decided to add a delivery fee the following day. I believe it was because the tip was lower than 20% because the delivery fee brought it up to that percentage. Someone on their end lied and entered it as originally placed for pickup and changed to delivery. This was not true and I think adjusting the fee so that the subjective tip is more to their liking is ridiculous. Aside from that - the cooked food was good including gyoza and tempura. The sushi however was not good. The "house special" was a dried out California roll (which I would never order) covered with very thin tuna/avocado. read more

Ordered some sushi pick up from their website. I got the $16 dinner special that includes 3 rolls and a salad. My food was ready fairly quickly and pick up was a breeze. My sushi, sorry I was too hungry for pictures, was delicious and just what I needed! I got the dynamite roll, the Mexican roll, and the salmon and avocado roll. Over the dynamite was my favorite - it was not spicy at all. The Mexican roll had a good kick to it. The fish tasted fresh and I loved the flavors. The salad was simple and came with some sort of peanut dressing which was very yummy. Overall an amazing price to pay for some good sushi! read more

Sushi was excellent as was the miso soup and ginger dressing on the salad. Food great but overall experience awful as we had three rude people possibility drunk at lunch time screaming and carrying on as they came in and hostess sat them right next to us even though we were the only customers in the entire place and they could have been seated anywhere. I couldn't enjoy my conversation with my lunch date and frankly dining room management could easily have sat them somewhere else where they wouldn't have been so disturbing. Well at least know that if I'm drunk and feeling rowdy and want to get sushi I can go there and they'll let me rant and rave as much as I want and feed me. Take out I guess a good option too. My husband and I really wanted some Sushi in Long Beach on Sunday on our way out of town and after stopping by a few other places that were closed we were losing hope that we'd be able to find a place that was open but luckily we stumbled on Nagoya! We were very pleased with the food, especially the deep fried shumai. We both got Dinner Combo Boxes and a few rolls of sushi that were delicious. Came here on a cold, January night for dinner and we were warmed by the food, the very decent portion size, and the thoughtful presentation of our meals. I was glad to see that, since I was here several years ago, the sushi, even when it is included in a "box" dinner, is still quite good. Our meals were more than filling, they were colorful, perfectly cooked, had good variety of items, and we were sorry to have to leave from all that warmth and satisfaction and go back out into the wintry night! read more

I have gone to this restaurant many times and unfortunately the quality of food has gone down tremendously. I ordered take out that was delivered. At first bite of the kani salad I immediately noticed the cucumber had gone bad. It was soft and had a jelly like texture instead being firm and it tasted weird. Because I was very hungry at the time, I carefully separated the imitation crab to salvage the appetizer. The fresh ginger tasted like the way dirt smells and I couldn't eat the sushi at that point because my appetite was ruined and frankly, I was afraid I'd literally get sick. I don't like giving bad reviews but this is definitely warranted. Sorry, Nagoya, but this won't keep me coming back for more :( read more

This place has become my default go-to sushi spot since moving to LB. Nagoya has the best prices, and has delivered consistently in freshness and flavor every time I ordered, for both delivery and pickup. Can't wait to dine there indoors too. I also just hosted a bday for 8 people and they were all really happy with their sushi and bento boxes, so I'm happy they helped us feed so many people from all over the city to their liking. The decor is average, the location somewhat off the beaten path, nothing over the top about the place but their sushi is great. And really what are you there for anyways, it's not as good as Nagahama but for the price and what they have to offer this place can't be beaten. I always order the soft shell appetizer which is always well prepared in a nice rice flour. Then the miso soup is always delicious not too salty. This restaurant has gone downhill so quickly. At first, their food and portion-to-prices ratio were great. They are so skimpy now that it is basically theft ordering from them. Our go to spot for take-out/delivery sushi: inexpensive, good (not great) quality, and lightening-fast delivery (consistently arrives in 20 minutes even though Grubhub estimates that these guys take 30-40 minutes). They have some awesome lunch and dinner specials. Lunch is 3 rolls (18 pieces), a soup and a salad for $9.95 (just have to order before 3 PM -- you will find the special at the bottom of their Grubhub menu). Dinner is 3 rolls (24-30 pieces depending on the rolls you select -- this one is called the Maki dinner special on Grubhub) for $14.95. The comments above regarding speed of delivery speak for themselves. These guys really get their product to your door quickly, so no need to worry about your order being fresh when it arrives. Regarding quality, this is not the top of our hit list for a sushi experience in Long Beach. That honor is currently reserved for Nagahama, so if you are looking to sit down and enjoy some finely-crafted fish art, head their way. That being said, Nagoya presents some consistently yummy rolls. In my experience, they handle the simpler rolls the best (e.g., tuna rolls, yellowtail jalapeño, spicy crunch salmon). Some of their speciality rolls can be a little heavy on their respective sauces (though they are huge). I've been ordering these sushi as delivery to Sands all summer and as crazy as it sounds, it may very well be the best sushi in NY. Upon coming back from the beach I went to some old favorites (Momo in East Williamsburg, etc) and it's been a disappointing experience comparing to Nagoya. Also the Udon was great and a surprisingly good option for the kids (not super salty as usual). Cheers to the chef and the delivery guy for making it a great experience! read more

Went here for dinner the other night after the brief snow storm and wanted something warm to eat. I ordered the pad thai, service was good but ambiance was kind of like a daycare si ce there were two or three of the owners kids and all there stuff around the restaurant. One was even doing an arts and crafts project when I was walking in. They quickly cleaned up most of it when I said I was dining in(I was there by myself, really crappy weather outside). Dining booth was very comfortable and looked new . So back to the pad thai, it came with miso soup to start which was pretty decent and included with the dinner menu item which was a nice plus. Then the pad thai came out, gigantic portion, enough for 2 meals was very pleased I could eat some for next days lunch. And they served me some tea which was appreciated. We go simple here, but it's constantly good. I usually go with... - Tri Color Sushi Dinner (salmon, tuna, hamachi) - Edamame - Gyoza - Avocado Salad - AAC Roll (avocado, asparagus, cucumber) All good stuff. Plus the delivery time is usually 20-40, which is A-OK. This, my friends, is the hot bod. On to that face you're just not sure about... Dining in the restaurant is an awful experience. The service, if you want to call it that, was nonexistent. Seriously, I'm not sure if we had a waitress. We were seated, but not given menus. Different people brought things to our table. Took forever to get the check. You know, the usual service fails. The place isn't large and there were three servers that night, very strange how you could ignore a few customers (the table next to us had the same problem). To boot, there were 6(!) children hanging out at the restaurant unsupervised. So, yea, not fun. I'll be ordering them again, bc the food is good and the delivery is money, but never again will I see the inside of those doors. I have a very love-hate relationship with this restaurant and I'm not sure why. The staff is very friendly and the meals are not terrible, the prices are pretty low (AND there are always 20% off coupons) and the interior is decent....but something keeps me from coming here often despite the fact that I can walk there from my home in about 30 seconds. That's a pretty big statement. Obviously, I've never been wowed here enough to make convenience a deciding factor in eating here. Sushi wise, it's just decent. I'd rather go to Nagahama or wait for delivery from Himawari instead of getting this. If you want plain sushi/sashimi like a tuna roll or salmon roll then maybe this place is pretty good but when you get into the harder stuff like Ikura or Uni I'm not sure that this is the place to go for freshness. Something just rubs me the wrong way. I will say that I do go for the cooked options here (which is VERY rare for me in a sushi setting) and the mixed seafood soup with buckwheat noodles (which is actually a mix between ramen and spaghetti but definitely not soba) is somewhat comforting. I always ask for extra pepper and I like it....there's a good amount of veggie to seafood ratio. The deep fried crab and fried oysters are also nice compliments as is the plain green salad. I recommend this for a time when you just want some sushi basics at a low price, but you are not looking to be blown away. It's normal, its somewhat comforting and it serves the purpose of curing your craving for Japanese food. Good for the price. Not sure what was the issue with the person who was attending but it was the only thing that was wrong with my experience but it was the one thing that made my experience an unhappy one. Just ordered delivery from here and it wasn't bad. I ordered just a plain tuna roll and a salmon roll and a piece of white tuna. The worst was the red tuna and it was pretty good. The white tuna melted in your mouth and was sweet, though it could have been a little softer. The salmon was great, fatty and cut nice and thick. My aunt ordered a shrimp tempura roll with no scallions and no flying fish eggs and they complied easily. Her piece of salmon looked amazing and her spicy crunchy tuna looked good for what it was (I'm not a big spicy tuna fan). The wasabi was ridiculously spicy, though good and they use red ginger, if that matters to anyone. It's good, though again, I'm a white ginger fan, myself. Also the delivery range is really good considering the location, as are the times they're open until (10:30 pm Monday - Thursday, 11 pm Friday - Saturday, 10 pm Sunday) All in all, though, a surprisingly good experience from a last-minute (and late night) sushi delivery place. Would definitely go again. In fact, just thinking about going again is kind of exciting. I wish I'd have ordered another roll...white tuna I think. Or another salmon one. :D read more

This is a great place to come for sushi that isn't so expensive and the sushi is pretty good too. Pretty fresh most times. When it comes to service and the restaurant itself that's where the issues begin. The service is absolutely terrible. My friend and I went for lunch. Literally nobody else in the restaurant and we're sitting for 10 minutes before the waitress, who was sitting at a table in the back looking at her phone, came over and finally asked if we'd like something to drink and if we're ready. The entire time we were eating there were kids of the waitress running around the dining room and throwing books at each other. It was loud and ridiculous. So unprofessional. Sorry but when I go to eat somewhere I don't want kids of an employee running around and throwing things. Why are they even here? To make things even more weird, the kid dropped the food off at the table! He was probably no older than 10 years old. Sorry Nagoya, there are labor laws for that read more

Sushi didn't take long at all, but we realized our appetizer never made it out. We asked our server about it, who, up until we asked, was really friendly. She literally did a 180 and turned into a nasty person. Ok not my fault you forgot to put it in the computer? But we're understanding people. It ended up coming out a few minutes after. Being new to the area, I was hoping to find a place at random without having any expectations. I noticed that Nagoya had free delivery (awesome) and pretty good reviews, I figured I'd give them a shot. SO glad I did. I ordered a Philly roll, spicy tuna roll and a Godzilla roll. They even added extra soy sauce and an extra set of chopsticks, how sweet of them for thinking I was going to share any of my sushi. All of the rolls were so fresh and the Godzilla roll, being fried, was still warm when it arrived to me. The delivery estimate was approximately 45-55 minutes, but my food arrived in 30. I was beyond pleased with the quality and service at Nagoya. I'll totally be ordering delivery from them again! read more
