I came in to this place with a friend who recommended it. I just wanted a pedicure, not for the color, but because I have bad callous on my feet. Boy was I disappointed! To clarify, if you like a massage and a hot towel, this place is great. The polish looks great. But the actual purpose I went in with for my pedicure was not accomplished. Now my feet are just a more colorful and slightly more massaged version of their former selves. The balls of my feet are okay but my heels look awful. Sorry. Maybe my expectations were too great, but I did not leave a happy camper. Oh, and the price point was a bit high too. The Hubs and I came here to get our mani/pedis that we bought via travelzoo. So, readers beware, the price does effect my review. I love that the place is clean, the staff is nice, and that they seem to take their time with you. I never felt like it was rushed, and I love the little extras they do. Hot towels on your legs and hands, the extra scrubbing and lotioning during your pedi, and the 5 min massage you get after your mani is done. Hands down, this is my preferred nail salon in Chicago. I've been here several times. The service is impeccable and the people who work here treat each mani / pedi as if it is an original piece of artwork. This is what I love about the salon: 1. A+ Work - I literally FEEL as if I am at the most important person who is getting a manicure or a pedicure. The employees are meticulous, and it shows. My manicures and pedicures are PERFECT. 2. The pedicure chairs. These give me a decent massage. I don't expect a decent massage when getting my nails done... BUT... these chairs do not disappoint. 3. Spotless environment. Everything is clean and neat. The bathrooms are always tidy and clean. 4. Gracious employees. English is not the first language, but that does not impact the calm, welcoming demeanor. You won't get anything over the top, but you should feel welcome and appreciated. I would describe this place as low key, but professional. This is what could be better: 1. I have had perfect service from every employee with the exception of a woman who is perhaps in her 50's. I'm not sure, but I think she owns the salon. She does very, very good work, but not 100% perfect. I'd give her a 95%. The salon has spoiled me. :) I expect perfect every time. 2. The only problem I even had was when I was being slow about my color choice. The salon owner (I think?) chose for the color for me. The color she picked was old and the no-chip only lasted two days, and then it started to bubble and chip. THIS IS WHY I LOVE THIS SALON... I returned to show the salon and showed them what had happened. They redid my nails to ABSOLUTE PERFECTION and would NOT accept a tip. I was so impressed by this outstanding customer service that I keep coming back. I have never had a problem with this salon and I have been here many, many times. Made a quick pit stop during the holidays at this little nail salon and was shocked at the value and kindness of the place! I don't know about you, but I always feel a little out of place at nail salons with the stuffy clientele and the bitter staff, but this place was calm and relaxed. The staff was nothing short of kind and very inquisitive about the job they were doing asking "is this okay?", "how do you like the length?" etc. For $15 you can get a great manicure and a short shoulder massage. My nails are perfection without a bubble or a bit of polish left on my finger surrounding my nail. The only downside of this joint is the color selection. It's kinda bare bones so I would suggest bringing in your own color especially if you are interested in nudes or grays. High fives on the incredible service. read more

Warning: this place is much more expensive than you think... Because you'll want to give a huge tip! Customer service is their number one priority, and man does it go a long way. They make sure you are comfortable and take care of your phone, shoes, and beverage while you're being pampered. Within 2 minutes of my arrival I was sitting in the massage chair with a refreshment and 3 magazines. They also open a new, sterilized set of nail tools for you, so you don't have to be wary of anyone else's germs. They're friendly and super helpful during the whole manicure and pedicure, and to be honest I'd return for the level of service alone! They really try to go beyond your expectations, 3 of them gathered on the floor to get me into my shoes without ruining my pedi! This place is fantastic! I stumbled upon it because it is close to my apartment and I've probably been about twenty times, including with my family for my wedding day. The only services I've gotten are no-chip manicures and pedicures so I can't speak to any of their spa services but the quality is fantastic. I never see any flaws in my nails and they usually last for a good 2-3 weeks before needing to be removed. The staff is professional and the facility is clean. I've been here twice before and it was okay. This time I was turned away one entire HOUR before closing. Will never come back again.

I've been to this salon several times. I like their service and the quality of the no chip manicures. But today will be my last day as a patron at least for a while. I was charged $40 today for a no chip manicure, $15 more than my previous visits. Apparently, I was taking advantage of the "Winter Special". No signage, just a $15 upcharge. So in turn, I declined to leave a tip when asked as the $15 increase should more than compensate. Feeling robbed, I left. Perhaps I will return next winter. read more

I live in the neighborhood and I've been to this nail spa many times and had many different technicians do my pedicures (and a couple manicures). They always accommodate me quickly, do a stellar job and provide friendly service. One thing I love is there is no toxic smell that you find in some nail salons. On your first visit they create a little box with your name on it where they keep your personal collection of tools--very cool! The place is very clean, they have great massage chairs and they even offer free bottled water or soda. I'm very happy with their color selection, as well as their magazine collection! My polish always lasts so long--longer than any other place I've been to--and it's always perfectly done. To top it off, they provide a nice shoulder massage while your nails are drying. I think it's a good value--you can get a cheaper mani or pedi, but it's worth a few bucks to have a great experience like I always have here. First time going and I don't plan on going back. I had to tell her to go up closer to my cuticles because she didn't cut them and it made it look as if my nails were already grown out. When I got my pedi she didn't go all the way up to my cuticles either and they didn't wrap my nails to take off the gel that was already on them. She didn't clean up my pedicure so I had paint on the side of my nail. She painted over the pink gel I had prior to going in instead of trying to take it off so it looks tacky. When I asked her to paint closer to my cuticles she looked at me like I was crazy and when I asked to get my eyebrows done she literally made a grunt. She was also about to leave wax on my actual eyebrow until I told her. Not to mention the owner tried making a scene because I left a tip she didn't think was appropriate even after I told her about the problems I was having. I've been to other places that are cheaper and actually care more for customers. It has been about a week since my review: my nail has chipped, my eyebrows are growing out, and the two nails THEY GLUED...broke again. NEVER AGAIN! read more

I discovered this place after moving into Presidential Towers. I usually get my nails done in Old Town, where quite frankly, the prices are a bit lower. However, for the West Loop, the $15 manicures ($20 for vinyl) are a good deal, especially because they come with hot towels and massages. This is a very quiet place - never too busy, and they always have time for you. It's a cute little space, and they keep it super clean. I especially like to get my nails done with Jun because he's friendly and mindful of client tastes. I've had no-chip and square tips pushed on me before, but he goes with whatever you want. He's also good at small talk if you're into conversation. If you aren't, he's good at the art of the non-awkward silence. They feature a solid but not overwhelming amount of colors from Essie, OPI, CND, etc. I recommend their vinyl polishes above their regular ones. I'm getting no-chip next week for a special occasion, though from what I've seen of other clients and the color selection, I'm already sure it'll turn out well. It's definitely my favorite nail place in Chicago at the moment. A must for anyone in the West Loop/West Loop Gate neighborhood. read more

This is my go-to nail shop in Chicago. I moved a year ago and this location is no longer convenient, but I still make the trip. Here's why: -everyone is super nice and TALENTED - they all do a great job so I never worry about who I'm going to get -take their time with the extras (massage during pedicure, warm towels, etc.) -very clean and comfortable -great color and brand selection -bonus shoulder massage at the end (they always ask first, so if you don't want it you have the opportunity to say no thanks) -street parking always available -pedicures last forever -no chip manis last forever (I've had at least five from them and none have chipped before I needed to have it removed because of nail growth - two weeks or so) The only thing I'm not a fan of is the $5 charge for removal of no-chip manis unless you're getting a new no-chip at the same time (regular manis don't count). This is a new policy. I understand that they should be reimbursed for the time and effort it takes though, so I'm not too upset about it. Happy mani/pedi-ing! read more

The place was nice and clean, and minimal wait on a late lunch break without an appointment. Color selection was great, and in fact I am in LOVE with the OPI color I got today. However, $30 for a pedicure seems really high. I've never paid more than $23 with better service. This place is a hit or miss (at least for a pedicure) you can either get the best pedicure ever or the worst of your life depending on who does the job. I usually go here during my break so I guess i'm considered a regular. I absolutely love when the gentleman with glasses gives me a pedicure, because he shapes everything just right, and actually asks me if everything is okay. Unfortunately today I went and he wasnt there so I had my pedicure done by the oldest lady at the salon (she had given me an unsatisfactory pedicure before, but I needed the pedicure done so I figured i'd give her another shot) This was one of the worst pedicures of my entire life. She filed my toe nails unevenly and when she put the top coat on, there wasn't a glossy finish, it kind of looked like when you try to paint your nails with an almost dried out bottle of nail polish. I was furious but didn't say anything because of her age and she was still very nice so it was hard to be mean. Also, now that I look closer she didn't even completely paint each nail. It's disappointing to pay $30 for something that my dog could have done better. However this is still a good place if you get service from ANYONE ELSE!! read more

With an abundance of nail salons in this city, I wasn't overly impressed with Nail 2ne1. I recently went there for the first time and had an appointment. I finally received service after almost 20 minutes past my appointment time, which was annoying. The actual mani/pedi itself was just fine, very pleasant in fact, but I also don't like their drying area. It's awkward b/c it's the same place as the counter, so while you're sitting there drying you're also face to face with the employee at the counter so it's just a little weird. Lateness is one of my biggest pet peeves, which is why I'm only giving this place 2 stars. There's a nail salon also near me - Pinky - and I will go back there instead. read more

By far the best nail salon I have been too. The staff is so nice and sweet. The service is impeccable, the quality of their work is always amazing. They give massages while your nails are drying. They take time with even the most basic pedicure and massage legs and feet. 25 dollars for a no chip and you get this wonderful relaxing time, it's well worth it.
