Difficult to make appointments, didn't build up enough coverage for a sheer color, and cut my nails all the way down without warning -- not a trim. At over $80, it does not look like a manicure was done. I'll be painting my (much shorter) nails at home before vacation. I've been here before and had a great experience. The owner was great and the service was exactly what I wanted. This time was a completely different story. Sondra did my pedicure and rushed through the whole thing. Every single toe came out a different shape which is kind of the whole point of a pedicure so that was frustrating. She also told me they didn't have the color I wanted and I later found out the woman sitting right next to me had that exact color. She just didn't want to get up and get it. That's not okay. When I told the owner I had a bad experience I wasn't looking for a discount or a free service. I just wanted him to know. He asked what was wrong I told him and he said okay sixty dollars. That was it. No apology nothing. I think he thought I was trying to get out of paying but I wasn't at all. It just would have been nice to feel heard. I have no issue with the price. I have an issue with paying for a rushed careless service and then being dismissed when I tried to say something about it. I won't be going back and I'd say be careful especially if Sondra is doing your nails. read more

I have been going to this nail salon for a little over a year, it is a convenient location as I live on Printers row, the gentleman who is generally on the desk is always kind and accommodating, very nice. The pedicure I get is straightforward, just a plain, no polish, no buff. However I always get a no chip clear manicure, I am a professional and want to present with well taken care of nails. The mani and pedi has increasingly gotten sloppier and rushed. The pictures I am attaching are of my latest, and last manicure at Lo nails. I was the only person in the shop, my manicure and pedicure were finished in 25 minutes, and as you can see from the results it is awful. I always tip $20 for both, about 25%. But today was my last trip in. I am going to research and find a new nail salon. read more

The owner was nice but the staff albeit very good at manicure/pedicures lack some basic customer service. I was a walk-in but when I lived in Chicago, this was one of the better nail salons to go to (especially their other location in Lakeshore East). But today when I was given an appointment time, I asked for a pedicure and a manicure, and it wasn't until she finished my pedicure. She told me that there was no possibility for a manicure, not to mention didn't even give me options of different pedicures that they offer. Again the gentleman who is the manager or the owner was great, but honestly I think all could have been quickly resolved if they had at least one staff member who Had stronger language skills it is still a nice and clean salon which is a big part of going to get your nails done. Just today my experience at LO was just disappointing. And when you're working in an establishment that expects gratuity it's hard to want to give a good tip (which I still did) when you're not satisfied with the service. read more

I am not someone to leave bad reviews, however was pretty disappointed with this service. The service was extremely rushed - my manicure and pedicure were done in about 50 minutes total (I had an appointment and was not a walk in). I left with more room between the polish and my cuticle than I went in with and very short uneven nails. In addition the edges were jagged and were catching on my hair and clothes-I had to file them myself when I got home. Just overall very sloppy and rushed which is disappointing for the price. Though also rushed, the pedicure looks better than the manicure. The tech did not speak to me or check in with me the entire service-though she was speaking to another tech throughout it. I called to see if I could get in for a soak off, new set and gel pedicure. I get in, get into the chair and the begin soaking my nails off while working on my feet. They asked if I am getting gel, I was requesting gel on acrylic. They tell me they don't offer acrylic and try to explain gel x to me. I've never been in a salon the doesn't offer acrylic. They convince me to get Gel X. The girl fills the plastic nails with glue and attaches on my nail and puts under the light which on every finger felt an uncomfortable burn. When I asked if it was supposed to burn she said yes. I'm confused to what this service is because I am not familiar with gel x. The man (owner I assume) brings me a paper explaining gel x, which I asked why they didn't show me that before? The bill was $160. This was too expensive for the poor quality of work that I had to waste my time enduring. The man told me if im not satisfied then to come back to remove them. I went back 2 days later to get them removed and just a no chip manicure. They didn't have an issue re doing them but I'm upset that they didn't offer a refund for the poor experience and wasting my time to come back and correct it. I never even speak up at nail appointments and had to come back 2X at the owners resistance because there was so much glue stuck underneath each nail and when I showed it to the owner (2X) he tried to convince me it was my natural nail all for them to have to try and file the nail down. We two just finished our Dazzle Dry mani and pedi and it was a wonderful experience from the call for the reservation, through the service, to checking out. There is a Pure Green right next door so made a quick stop, watermelon lemon juice, and Connie had the golden girl. We were set up for success fueled up to stay hydrated. No shortage of color options for Dazzle Dry, Opi, Essie and others. Everyone from the owner to the techs were efficient, welcoming, and focused on delivering a top notch experience. I've been a loyal customer to this place for 6 years. I usually have pleasant experiences but my most recent experience was very unpleasant. I was treated very rudely by the front desk staff (a skinny asian young lady). The man who usually works the front desk has always been great. On top of the rudeness from the front desk, I then was met with confrontation from the woman who was doing my pedicure. She was arguing with me when I simply asked her why she did not use lotion of both of my legs. She put a mixture of oil and lotion on one leg then only put oil on the other. When I asked why, she became upset like I was accusing her of something and told me that no lotion is used during the pedicure, only oil. She was clearly upset that I spoke up and then proceeded to mutter things under her breath the rest of the pedicure. Then she begins my manicure and rushes through it. She doesn't clean up my cuticles or buff anything. She basically just cut my nails and sent me on my way. I have never had a negative experience at this salon in the many years I've been going but this encounter makes me not want to return ever again. I walked in on a Friday morning to get a mani pedi, the gentleman upfront said that the best he could do was an hour or so later which was not problem. I just killed some time in the neighborhood and then went back where I was promptly out in a pedi chair. I loved this. I do not mind waiting when I walk in, honestly that's to be expected, but I absolutely loved that he told me a time and stuck to it. The salon is all white on the inside so you can see how sparkling clean it is. With only one TV on mute so you're not over stimulated. The best part too was that the salon barely smelt like acetone and other products. I had such a fantastic time and will definitely be back. They take cash, card, and Zelle. read more

Let's start with what was good. Very clean establishment and very friendly!! On the other hand this is another salon that doesn't know how to shape coffin nails - turning my request for coffin nails into an almond shape, despite multiple attempts at correction to not round out the tips of my nails. This just ended in me removing the nails that I just got done after leaving the salon. I did pay for the service because the tech did try her hardest, but the owner should take better stock of his tech abilities before matching customers with the specific need with someone unable to do it. 85 dollars down the drain but a tip well worth it for the techs attempts. If you want almond or another shape of nails, this will be the place for you, just not for us coffin girlies. The search continues. read more

My boyfriend and I decide to treat ourselves to pedicures at least once a month and we try different salons if we can't get an appointment in at our normal spot. With both of us being OCD.. We were impressed right away with how clean and well-maintained the salon was. The tools were sanitized, and the pedicure stations were immaculate. The nail technicians were very sweet and very attentive. They really made sure we were comfortable at all times. LOVED THIS PLACE. Atmosphere was really nice everytime when I go there. In their south loop location, all staff are well trained and understand the customer in a good level. When I previously got my nails done, one of my nails were chipped and was hurting so bad. But this lady was so nice and helped me to get it fixed right away. All the equipments and polish were so clean and well sanitized. When I was very indecisive about the color for my nail, my technician was patient and helped me to style them in different way and in different color. Went in for a soak off and a no-chip manicure- they used a nail drill to remove the remaining of my original no-chip polish that didn't come off the first round of acetone and left the nail brittle and weak. The polish started chipping on the 7th day and my nails started breaking from the sides. Immediately after the appointment I was able to bend my nails from how thin they were. I was in and out of the appointment with a pedicure in less than an hour, the whole appointment felt rushed. Spent $100 for nails that didn't last a week. read more

So visited this shop because it was the closet to me. I went in for a no chip manicure after taking off acrylics. My nail beds were very sore and destroyed. The manicurist was gentle and even applied nail glue and filler to improve my nail bed. Place is super clean and sanitary. Spaced out seats and great selection of colors. read more

It's a good mani and pedi. Solid. Does it chip? Maybe. But if/when it does and you feel some kind of way about it, let them know. I had really committed to a white mani/pedi and it chipped later the same day. by the next morning, 2 more had chipped. (I know some people will say get the no chip, but they wreck my natural nails and why am I paying extra to ensure the manicure I already paid you for will be a good long lasting one?! Shouldn't that come standard? It's giving classism. ) I understand if you want premium you pay more and no chip will last 2 weeks yadda yadda. I don't do no chip anymore so now I invest in the premium level mani/pedi in Alpine White. It was about $70. I felt really good about it. Loved everything about it. And then, hours later, it chipped. And my feelings were hurt. So I, a confrontation averse emo, summoned the nerve to contact them, by email of course. I got a super fast response telling me to come back in and they'd fix it. I agreed to a time and thoroughly decided not to go. Lol. I would have to show my face after complaining?!! Que vergonzosa!! But I went. The man at the desk, (I feel terrible for not remembering his name), greeted me and when I said why I was there he called me by name, (which is why I feel terrible about not knowing his), and I was taken care of right away. There was no awkwardness about it or annoyance or asking for a tip. I sat down, they fixed it, we all waved, and I left. Happy as a lark!! That is high quality customer service. It should be standard but we all know some places will curse you out or argue over something like this. I went to Lo Spa on a weekday for a dazzle dry manicure and pedicure. The whole thing cost me $77 including a 15% tip. The spa is clean - they do a temperature check when you enter and everyone seems super careful around COVID protocol - something I did appreciate as I am pregnant. However, everything else about my experience was outright awful. The nail technician who worked on my nails was very rough. She didn't appreciate that I told her the water was too hot for me. It also appeared that she was just trying to get done with me as quickly as possible. Then... I made the mistake of asking for water. I didn't want bottled water or anything fancy - plain and simple drinking water for a very thirsty me. At that point, the receptionist said they don't have water for me because they do not have disposable cups. Fair. I then asked very nicely - is there any way they could give me a glass of water because I really needed one. I'd be happy to pay extra for it. Her reply was pretty curt and she said no. Okay - that's fine too. I had to stop my manicure midway so I could go to the store next door and pick up a bottle of water for myself. I told them very nicely that I would be back. But, apparently, that was enough for them to talk about me in their local language. You have to be really dumb to not know that they were talking about me since I was the only one at the spa at the time and the nail tech in front of me was actively pointing towards me during the conversation. The whole experience left me feeling pretty bad. Was it because I asked for water? Or was it because I was literally in my sweatpants - a great candidate for being judged? This place doesn't seem to be following the basic rules of the niceness of being in the service industry - which is pretty unfortunate. I am definitely not going back. read more

Well, whether you're new or you've lived in South Loop forever, search no more. LO Spa is always clean, professional, and their services are absolutely perfect. My no-chip manis last 3+ weeks consistently (and I cook!), and my pedicures are flawless. I recommend upgrading pedicures to spa-level for extra exfoliation, and extra massage. Well worth the upgrade price. I have my lady, but have received services from most ladies here, and the quality is consistent across the board. I also really appreciate their dedication to cleanliness, and observing the Covid19 best practices. I always feel safe, and leave super happy. read more

I am a huge fan of LO spa & Nails. I recently stopped by for a standard mani-pedi. There's so many colors to choose from and I was given a massage during my visit. The staff offers wonderful service - I was running 3 minutes late to my appointment and they gave me a courtesy call, which I really appreciated. My set also lasted about 2 weeks as well!
