I typically find this salon to be above average, but today I was very disappointed. I had a no-chip mani last Thursday and by Monday I already had 2 significantly chipped nails, today it was up to 4. For the record, I have never had a no-chip last less than two weeks. That's why I pay $40 for the service. If I wanted one week nails, I would've paid half the price for a regular manicure. When I came in this afternoon, I was immediately greeted and promised repair. What I didn't expect was a rough buff job, and several coats of paint applied over the top of my existing no-chip on every nail. I've been out of the salon for 15 minutes and one of the "repaired" nails is already lifting on one side and ALL of my nails are two-toned. Last week was the first time I went to Nail 2ne1 Spa. The place is quite and very clean. The service is good and they are very attentive with your need. They do have a massage chair, and will give you an awesome back rub while you are drying your nail. The service is also pretty fast, mani pedi is done within an hour, and it costs about $45. I love this place so much that it pains me to bring them down to 4 stars. I still think it is hands down the best nail spot in the area. Everyone is so nice and it has a warm atmosphere. They autoclave the tools and you can have a personal box for a nail file, buffer, etc. I never feel like they are just trying to get me out of there as quickly as possible. That being said, there has been multiple times that I have been with someone super slow or have walked out of there with crookedly filed nails. I've also had a few issues where they didn't record my appointment or I haven't made an appointment and the 10 minute wait ends up being over 30 minutes. They also have started using these "weapons of torture" for the shoulder massage at the end. I think the key to success at this place is to always make an appointment, find someone you like, and avoid the shoulder massage! read more

I don't know if my technician was having a bad day, but she rushed me out pretty quickly and didn't pay a ton of attention to cleaning up my nails. All of the ladies give a great manicure that lasts. They have all the new, best colors, and they give you a little back rub at the end. They are always very welcoming and I love the quality of their services. I am always satisfied with my no-chip mani when I leave and they always make sure I'm happy with my nails! They also give you a mini massage and its soo greattt I love it! They will even fix your nail for you if it chips within a week of your no-chip mani, so awesome. This review is only for no-chip manicures at 2ne1 as I have not had any other services here. I only come to this place to see Lia. She is so talented and meticulous in her work that she has become one of only two manicurists I will see in the city of Chicago. She cleans the cuticles properly so the no-chip doesn't peel up when it grows out, and she seals up all the edges so it never chips. She knows how to make a no-chip manicure really last by spending time to prep the nails well. Lia's manicures last a solid 3 weeks and I only have it taken off because the color starts to look too grown out! The prices are very affordable, they use OPI and Essie polishes, you get clean tools every time you visit, and the short back/shoulder massage that's included for free will make you melt. read more

Very spacious and all the natural light was great but it was a bit on the pricier end for just a toe polish change and no chip manicure. I just got my no chip manicure done this past Friday and two of my nails have started to chip already. The girl seemed to rush through the entire manicure, used only a sanding block to get rid of cuticle which I've never had done before and the massage was less than a minute. Everyone was professional and sweet, but within 24 hours three of my nails had chipped, and within 48 hours it was a disaster of a manicure. I have manicures regularly elsewhere without this problem and they used the same OPI i always have, so apparently the problem is with them. The place is nice and quiet. The girl took her time, applied the polish very neatly and asked for my approval before continuing on the clear coat. Went in for a quick pedicure. The staff was courteous and obliging to take me in almost closing hours. Only negative effect is I paid 75$ without tip for a pedi and mani. And was supposed to be a no-chip manicure. Apart from the selected limited shades for no chip, mine chipped literally the next day! So frustrating! read more

I'm just in Chicago visiting for the weekend and desperately needed a pedi. I read the great reviews and was not disappointed! I have a horrible habit of cutting my toe nails too short, so by the time I get a pedi, it can often be somewhat painful (my fault totally for my stupid short nails). However, the guy who did my pedi was very gentle and did a great job. The leg massage was always awesome and to top it off there was another shoulder massage while my nails dried. The man who started my pedi was phenomenal but then switched half way. My pedicure ended up being mediocre with my heels being left rough and not smooth like I've had with pedicures. There was nail polish left on the sides of my toes. She filed my nails down to practically nothing and then the nail polish was left not smooth. I really wanted to love this place, but, sadly, I have to give it 3 stars. I walked in for a regular mani-pedi one day and they took me in right away with no questions asked. No pressure to pick a color fast and the vibe I was getting was pretty laid-back. The space is clean and the staff is really friendly. I was really happy with the first nail tech who did my pedicure. They switched me over to another nail tech, but the results were totally different. She was nice, but...the whole manicure was rushed and my nails were uneven. Fantastic nail salon! When I lived in the area, I came here regularly for no chip mani pedis. The salon and tools were very clean, the nail techs were always very attentive to my requests for nail shape, number of coats, etc. and my mani pedis always lasted 3-4 weeks, which is very impressive considering I train 5 days a week in grappling martial arts and weightlifting. This place could be great and it seems they are nice people and trying to provide good service, but unfortunately my recent visit left me not wanting to return. I went on a Friday evening after work. I called ahead earlier in the morning to see if they had availability, and they were very nice and able to fit me in. I get there and the place is actually fairly empty - there were several people finishing up and at the drying station, and there were maybe two other people there that were getting started when I arrived. The pedicure was great - the technician was very detailed and did a thorough job. However, the manicure is where everything fell short for me. If it weren't for how great the pedicure was I would give this place 1 star. The technician was rushing through the entire process of doing my nails - she rushed through the application so much that she kept running over the side of my nail and having to clean it up. She also didn't really seal the tips very well, and thus here I am with chipping on several nails only 3 days after I got this done. To top it off, she still left nail polish on the skin part of my fingers in several places and didn't check to clean that up after she finished. Needless to say, I'm a bit irritated that I paid $45 (not even counting the tip) for a mani/pedi and the manicure was not done well at all. I probably should not have even left a tip but I did anyway just out of courtesy. Perhaps more staff is needed, because it's unacceptable to rush through the service in that way. I usually do my own nails and have been for years, so I am very particular about how it's done. I could've done a better job myself for free. Disappointed and I do not recommend. read more

This is my go-to nail salon, and not just because it's convenient for where I live! The service is excellent, the staff has always been kind and not extremently busy- I always just walk in and only twice in the two years I've been going there have they not been able to take me (and I go about twice per month!). They offer free drinks (bottled water, cans of pop, keurig coffee/tea) and just like the other reviewers mentioned, a quick 3-5 minute massage at the end of your visit! I think they are pretty competitively priced...manice is $15, although for $10 you can get a "polish change" which includes just about everything except for the cuticles (filing, hot towel, hand massage). You also still get the back massage! Very relaxing atmosphere- music ranges from quiet classical to contemporary but never loud or irritating. I always feel great walking out! read more

He was super nice and attentive. Leg massage was great until halfway through he switched to another guest and a lady finished my pedi and did my mani. This place is great! I recently moved to the area and was in need of a clean, good nail salon and I found it at Nail 2NE1. They have a mini fridge full of water and soda for their clients and all of my manicures and pedicures have lasted with no chips for a good amount of time. Horrible. Took them almost 30 min. To remove a no chip, I asked for a manicure she "pretended" to cut my cuticles. They are visibly not. all my nails are filed uneven and in different shapes.
