The single worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon ! The manager covered up my wounds and abrasions with acrylic tips super glued to my skin and acrylic gel powder filler (she was unclear about what she was using and I asked repeatedly) these various strong adhesives that she used BONDED WITH MY SKIN and caused horrible pain and infection for 4 whole months while the nails and ALL surrounding SKIN had to grow back; not just the cuticles: it was extremely painful. All of my skin was dead or bloody and infected and oozing pus around my nails. These two ladies created the perfect breeding grounds for a terrible painful infection. This was the single worst experience I've had at a nail salon And I used to get my nails and a pedicure done every two weeks for two decades. My cuticles were filed so aggressively that I had abrasions on my skin, it was just terrible. The technician was hurting me and I repeatedly asked her to change what she was doing: OVER-filing my nails and cutting into my skin, from the same exact side on all the nails on my right hand... the technician unprofessionally stood up and walked away when I again told her that she was HURTING ME... while I was just silently looking at my damaged skin and nails, I was just honestly bewildered at this awful experience. The technician had fully walked away, and I kept looking at my hands, that's when "the woman in charge": I don't know her name. She wouldn't tell me: trust me: you'll know her when you see/hear her. She instructed me to come sit at her #1 by the front door workstation and she was extremely rude to me from the beginning. She was just plain rude. Then, SHE TRIED TO SAY THAT I AREIVED at 'Nails à la Infection' SALON IN THIS CONDITION, with my nails OVER-FILED and my cuticles bleeding like this... I DID NOT ARRIVE LIKE THAT AT ALL. I did not have over filed nails nor any abrasions on my finger tips when I first arrived at Nail à la Nail Infection (a la mode as they prefer). My cuticles all got horribly infected as a result of this extremely bizarre incident where the original technician, an older woman, really hacked up my nails and skin and then the "over protective of her employee" manager did an angry job "fixing it" / "covering it up" that I did NOT ask her to do... the First Lady who hurt me and messed up my nails so bad, there was no making them look better ! She seriously came over to GLARE AT ME while the manager lady was doing my nails and fixing the First Lady's serious errors. The salon is not sanitary, it's not friendly or inviting. I saw several potential customers walk-in for services or just for info and they were all treated rudely. Then one customer came in and my manager lady jumped up and she had an alternative personality come out of her subconscious to be super kind to this old customer who she hadn't seen since she had her baby & the baby was a child now & the manager had to be semi decent towards me in the presence of this old cherished customer. Because I didn't want anything fancy She left me half done and didn't say anything She comes back eventually to do a very bad job. I am a senior and she treated me like I was on a factory line. I paid $40 for a very mediocre pedicure. In all the years of getting a pedicure, there was very little effort put into treatment. I was so amazed that I paid $40 and she looked at me like thank you. Where is the tip. I gave her $10 and walked away saying don't get a pedicure at this place. Minimal effort on the foot like calluses were barely attended to, and the massage was mediocre. one star is a bit too generous for this place. i came here to get my graduation nails and picked out a color from the very little color selection they have to offer (the red) and somehow the 2 different people doing my nails still managed to mess up the paint job. they also don't know how to properly do French tips or any designs. very unhappy with the service and the attitude of the employees. read more

I went in with my gf she wanted a pedi. I was getting gel mani/pedi. GF was leaving after pedi to get hair cut I get my nails done regularly and know it is quicker and easier for them to use the dremmel to get old gel off.. sorry no dremmel for me. Just wrap them, when you get to the mani they should be dissolved by then Pedi not great but I don't have the best feet so I'll accept it. Thought the polish looked like crap On to the gel mani... never asked if I wanted my cuticles touched. Color looked good Got home and my nail snagged something... strange. She NEVER smooth my nails after shaping them! Nor did she clean under them I spent $83.00 and tipped her 15, when they had a sign that said mani pedi special on the door for $43... so it's an extra $40 for gel?! My daughter and her friend walked over after school to get one pedicure and 2 full sets, basic acrylic. Not only did they not get what they requested, the work done was terrible. My daughter walked away with polish all over her hand, like past the fingers. Her friend was forced to get the dip even tho she asked for basic acrylic. She also requested a design with glitter and was charged $10 extra dollars but they didn't do it. When she brought this to the tech's attention, she said it was too late and still charged her the extra fee. She walked out with cuts, ugly nails, and over charged. The attitude was disgraceful. I went to this place on Saturday. I needed the nail polish changed on my toes. I went in and asked if they had time. One of the ladies said sure pick out a color. So as I was picking out a color, a not so pleasant woman came over and said polish change is $28 dollars. Is that ok for you? I said no, it isn't ok. I will do it myself. $28??????? For a polish change???? I know things have gotten more expensive everywhere, but really?????????? I will never go there again because I feel like they are there to rip people off. I went there at the beginning of July, hoping to get a pedi before I went on vacation. For a long time, my foot has been hurting. I purchased the largest package they had. I came with 7 things. Washing, nail clipping, etc... The service could have been done better. My foot still hurts! Not only that, but they also didn't give me the full package. They took away two services, but still charged me the full price! I told them I wanted at least one of them, but they said they won't. $70 I'll never see again. I went 4 days ago, for the second time. I didn't have a good experience the first time, but I decided to give it another try, since I was desperate, and it's 4 minutes from my house (walking). I went for a gel manicure ($39). I mean for that price I espect a good manicure at least. The lady rushed trough everything. She barely filed my nails. She BARELY and I mean... I'm not one for visiting nail salons much but we were given gift certificates for pedicures and what's not to like about that. Well, here's what- in spite of being asked twice while in the chair if I wanted to upgrade to the "spa" version and turning it down twice, I was tracked down by phone after leaving the shop to come back and pay the extra money! Hard to believe it was a communication issue (no means no, right?) but my fault for not knowing I was being given the upgrade while it was happening (I get pedicures so infrequently I didn't know the difference), so I paid for it but won't be returning there again. The technician gets the two stars for nicely painting my nails. Would have gladly given her a 5 star review for getting what I asked for. read more

Nancy is my go to at Nails a la mode! She is so sweet and does a fantastic job with both gel and regular polish. My suggestion with any of the fantastic nail technicians there is to communicate thoroughly what you want. Speak up! If something doesn't look right ask them to make it better. Nancy is always quick to make a change or touch something up if it's needed, usually before I even mention it! One thing I especially like is that there are no televisions blasting news or drama reality shows. Just soothing low music to sit back and relax to. Definitely give them a try! Update: Sadly, Nancy has left Nails ala mode. I'm now seeing Susan, who is fantastic, biweekly for a Spa Pedicure with the salt scrub, mud mask, extra 10min massage (SO WORTH IT), and a regular natural nail manicure. I think I found my new favorite nail salon! I called Nail A La Mode to make an appointment. They were friendly and inviting. I was very impressed by the amazing work and attention to detail that I received from Teresa. She made sure that my nails were dry and was very attentive, helping me with my things so my nails wouldn't get messed up. The most important thing is that the salon took proper safety and hygiene measures throughout. It was very clean and the staff was friendly and accommodating. What a gem! I have been coming to this place for a year now and this is my last time. Don't get me wrong. The ladies at this place are very respectful and awesome but there are some things that due to State guidelines and COVID-19 they are not offering anymore. Three examples of that are: No more hand massage with your manicure, no bowl with warm water while doing your manicure and the most important for me....no more removing dead skin with the shaver while doing pedicures. So those were my biggest reasons to come to a a nail salon and they were taken away, so there is no reason for me to visit a nail salon ever in my life if those services don't come back. They do follow the guidelines of COVID to the T, so there is no worries about that. I just didn't feel pampered in this visit and I need what I was getting before back. I got a gel pedicure and she painted over my cuticles and my nails had some bumps on it as if she didn't clean my nails properly. I've stopped in here a couple of times over the past few months. The shop is clean and bright and always busy. The chairs are super comfy and the water temp is perfected for each guest. They offer traditional and gel mani's and pedi's and a broad assortment of colors by various companies. They also mark the traditional polish bottles so that you know if there is a gel version of the color. This is especially nice if matching your fingers and toes if your thing. I stopped in today without an appointment. I lucked out! Annie is absolutely wonderful. She volunteered the passcode for the wifi AND offered me a touch screen pen so I could use my iPhone while my fingers were wrapped in aluminum foil. BRILLIANT!!! I switched back to French fingers after a winter of color. Admittedly I'm a bit picky with thickness and curvature of the white. She listened and nailed it first time. I couldn't be happier. Hopefully the polish lasts and doesn't peel off in a week. I'n thinking probably not but I'll check back in with a status report. My only criticism is that they aren't cheap. They are somewhat pricey for the burbs but if the polish lasts I'm happy !!! read more

The inside looks newly renovated and it was really clean. It was not what I was expecting at all. I got a pedicure and manicure acrylics with powder dip. The person I had was really friendly and made conversation which I appreciate a lot. She was also very informative about the different types of services they have to offer. Positives -beautiful and clean on inside -good parking options -nails came out really well Negatives -$37 for a gel manicure -the hand massage lasted 30 seconds total on each hand (I could tell because it was less time then the blue dry light for my gel paint) -lack of lotion used for hands -UPDATE within 24 hours my GEL nail cracked. Not sure about everyone else, but I only go to Tracy. She's my only one for 8+ years. She's amazing, sweet and really knows her stuff. She's always booked and that should tell you a lot about how good she is. You always need to book your appointment with her or else you won't be able to get her. I use to do the crazy nail designs back in the days, but now I'm very much into normal and simple gel polish. She'll tell you what color would look good on you and what wouldn't. She takes into consideration of the season when recommending color for you. She'll teach you how to care for you nails, what to do and what not to do to maintain your manicure. Don't be afraid to ask for advice. She's very one on one with her guest. There are times she'll call me from her cell phone. I've even booked with her through text also. Very accommodating. Enough about Tracy, the place itself has gotten a facelift for sure. All new manicure tables, chairs, and pedicure chairs and all. Not your typical hole in the wall nail salon. He do waxes and their waxes are very nice, not the cheap stuff wax. It's more cream or chocolate based. I have a problem with honey wax, so I was glad they changed the product. Even the shopping plaza got a facelift, easier parking and nicer environment. A plus is that they have a Peet's coffee next door if you have to wait 15mins. Word of advice, Sunday is typically based on appointments only. So don't walk in there with 3 people without an appointment and expect to be seen right away. Be considerate and think about the quality of care if you make your nail tech to feel rushed working on you. Think of it that way. read more

I've always had mixed reviews of this place but something kept bringing me back. This past time that I went will be my last. I understand that gel polish is more expensive than regular but tell me why I paid almost 80$ for a single gel pedicure. That to me is ridiculous. Upon asking why the price was so high, the lady told me the pedicure itself cost 58$. Cool, that's roughly the price I normally pay for gel pedicures. Then she proceeded to tell me that the nail polish I picked out was an additional 10$. That was never said when I initially picked out the color. I would've picked a different color had I known that it was going to be 10$ more for a color. They need to communicate better so that their customers aren't surprised after receiving the service. Now the remaining 10$ was left in tip because the nail tech did do a good job on my pedicure. But paying 78$ in total for one service is ridiculous. Communication is a big part of running a business. read more
