This was the slowest and one of the most uncomfortable experiences I've ever had at a nail salon. Initially they told me it would be a 30 min wait (even though there was 3 workers and 3 clients that had seemed to be wrapping up pedis). I agreed to wait. 10 mins into the wait they run my water for my pedicure and said I can come sit and soak....I was thinking GREAT, they'll be with me shortly. Long story short, I watched 3 episodes of Law and Order (3 hours) and only got my feet done. The young lady serving me looked as if it was her first time doing a manicure, so I told her to stop. I paid for my pedi and left. SERIOUSLY DO NOT GO HERE!!! This is a TERRIBLE SALON. Short version: I got a set of acrylics that looked ugly and broke/popped off easily. Went to get them removed and she RIPPED them off with no prep and no sympathy, to the point of extreme pain and literal bleeding. Terrible acrylic quality and terrible customer service. Long version: I went here for my first set of acrylics. I didn't know the whole process, but I knew what I wanted. The first person I got was actually really nice, but not very good. I was willing to accept that because she was sweet and gentle, but then she had an "appointment" that never came. I was turned over to a really rude woman. It was like I was personally ruining her day by asking for a set of acrylics, even though I hadn't even been matched with her at first. She was incredibly aggressive and rough, pinching and poking and cutting. I didn't bleed the first time, but one of my pinkies started burning and aching and there was nothing I could do make her stop. After forever, she finally finished, and they looked awful. Everyone I know who gets acrylics looked at them and was angry on my behalf. I still gave a good tip (10 plus on 30), because whatever. Also, I didn't want to ask for change, I wanted to leave. One of my nails broke THE NEXT DAY. Two popped right off after a week, and I decided to remove the acrylics completely. I went by one night, and they were closed during open hours with no explanation. The next night, they were open. I asked to take the acrylics off, and she takes out cuticle scissors from a drawer and RIPS the acrylics off. No soaking, no prep, nothing. Just tears them off. It hurt sooooo much! It felt like she was pulling off my actual nails. She used the sander thing and just grinds into my cuticles and my fingers! I bled and it really hurt. She just looked pissed that I was in pain! Then she trimmed my cuticles poorly and uses the same cuticle scissors to clean under my nails! (And there is no evidence they were clean.) The final step is her taking a SUUUUPER worn out buff pad (literally threadbare) and buffing the tops of my nails, which are beacons of soreness at this point. Finally, it's over, and I am sore, bleeding, and ready to leave. I had a long ass day, and I just want to go home. She says it's $7 and I take out my card. She says the card minimum is $10, and asks if I want to buy something else. I tell her no. My nails are sore and bleeding and I want to go. I should have had cash, but I didn't expect to need to come back so soon. She tries to fight with me, but I say no, all I have is card and I refuse to buy anything else. Finally she agrees, and runs my card. I get the receipt, and I was charged $8! I ask her why, and she said that they charge a dollar for using card. That's common practice, but you need to tell people these things! I sign and try to walk out, only to find she has LOCKED ME IN. She opens the door for me after checking that I signed, and I storm out. My nails hurt like hell for hours, and I hated every second of being in that store. I honestly don't think I will ever get acrylics again because of how bad it was, and I genuinely enjoyed having them. I just don't want to go through any of that ever again. Do not come here. There are better nail places within blocks of this place. They are a "good price" because you get the shit service and quality you pay for. read more

Stopped by here after making an appt @ Hype Salon on the same block. Only went in to kill the meter time I had paid. Not like I was expecting greatness from a small nail salon but in the very least I expected for my pedicure to be finished. Let me explain. Special ped advertised claims to have salt scrub and extended massage but I didn't receive either. The manicurist didn't bother to act like she wanted to provide the services I was paying for. She gave a poor foot scrub, hardly used any salt on the approx. 45 seconds she scrubbed my legs. Not to forget the additional 90 seconds she spent on my "extended" massage. The shop gets a few more patrons and the 3 workers are scrambling to not loose money while not realizing they're loosing so much more than a few bucks today. To finish my thought while they're are too busy trying to fulfill other patrons I'm left sitting with a SINGLE COAT oF polish... 15 mins go by and I ask if they can finish me up. She quickly rushed to slap another coat on... another 15 minutes go by so I speak up AGAIN to remind them I have not yet received my top coat. This is followed by a "im so sorry" and some Vietnamese I obviously don't know. Let me not forget to add they were very disrespectful laughing and conversing in their home language. This was by far the worst nail salon I have ever been to. I should have known something was up when I walked in and it was empty. The Owner, Minn, or whatever her name was, was VERY nice at first and then all of a sudden she switched up on me. I think maybe I had interrupted her TV time because she couldn't stop watching it while she was working on my nails. When she first started I told her that my nail beds were sensitive and I don't think she cared much! She was rough and she tugged and pulled on my arms. Her nails were sharp and she kept digging into my skin. I had to ask her MORE than once to stop being so rough. This place is HORRIBLE. Do NOT come here! Save your time! This establishment is dirty, they tried to use unsanitary tools AND they have TRASH customer service. The woman and her son are horrible. The woman had to do a full set on both my younger sister and her friend. They wanted a simple medium coffin set. Unfortunately, the older woman has poor filing skills and made my sisters coffin set uneven and toooooo narrow. She was starting high school that following Monday and was upset with how poor the shaping turned out. She expressed how she wanted the coffin to be fixed and instead of fixing it immediately the woman mocked her for being, "picky". She repeatedly said this while her daughter fixed my sisters nails. I myself got a fill, I had two nails that were broken and needed to be fixed. They completed my fill, and an "ok" job with my shape. Fast forward to today, 5 days later me, my sister, and her friend are all missing up to 3 nails each. It's only been a WEEK! I'm a acrylic nail vet and am used to a set lasting 3 weeks! To have the only two nails that they "fixed" on me pop off is SAD! The whole acrylic nail tip is gone. That's how Im sure of their poor ass service! We called to ask if we can come in to get them fixed and they said no bc it's been a week. The man on the phone ( the main woman's son) was nasty and very unprofessional. I was here last week and the young man doing my pedi had me screaming in the chair (and I'm not the person Gala wrote about). He seemed to think that I needed my nail ripped out on the sides ("if I get them at the root they won't grow back"). It was just awful, painful, and I have 2 toes that are still so painfully infected that I can't wear regular shoes (many other toes were bloody and painful). I should have ran as soon as the pain started...I thought he'd get the message and back off the ripping (or get some sharper cutters, which I suggested but he didn't consider). I was in that chair for over an hour (when I called my friend and said, "looks like I'll be another 1/2 hour", and the young man said, "I didn't know you were on a time constraint"), he worked on my for another 15 minutes, and then he just walked away. I wanted a french pedicure which apparently he didn't feel comfortable doing, but nobody told me, so I just sat in the chair (an hour and a half later) waiting for polish and finally got my wits about me and said I was leaving. I was informed that if I came back the next day for polish it would be $20 (and I should not have paid them the $20 then). My toes hurt so much when I woke up the next morning, and are surrounded by bloody scabs so I can't have them polished. This place was okay, it was my first time here. They only had two people working so I had to wait a while to get my Mani and pedicure. When the lady did my pedicure she scrub my foot and massaged it. She did a good job on my toes, just a little mistake here and there but it was nice. When she did my pedicure the shaping was not so nice, probably because I had short nails. But could of been better, and when she painted my nails some were uneven. But after I left, two of my nails became very bumpy, then later on my right big toe got messed up! :( they are okay for doing nails, Even though the lady didn't do a fantastic job on my nails she was working pretty hard from customer to customer. So i gave her a good tip, she was also very nice and friendly. But it was kind of pricey for nails that look mediocre. read more

i had a terrible experience. my pedicure was horrible. she just lightly brushed the bottom of my feet w/ the hard foam board. it wasn't smooth at all. i have never gone back to a nail shop for a redo. i was back 2 days later. showed it to the owner. she took a file to my feet and started scrubbing the whole while complaining. in my opinion she should have redone the entire pedicure. she even had to cut off some of the cuticle areas that were missed by the previous lady. my feet are still not smooth like you experience w/ a new pedi. it looked like i got a polish change, not a full pedi. never will return. read more

It's true what the other Yelpers are saying. Slow, mediocre quality, more interested in watching TV, and quite rude. The two young ladies are at least pretty detailed, but very slow. The daughter does a great job, but really should speed it up. 2 hours for a shellac is ridiculous. The owner/mom is beyond grumpy, very rough, and not detailed at all. The cousin (male) is the most rude--he talks about each customer in a derogatory tone and will rub your feet RAW, without any regard. He even argued with me once when I asked him to fix the paint on one toe. Really? Wow. Giving 2 stars, only because the daughter did do pretty nice manicures in the past, otherwise it would be 1 star. All in all, I just can not support this salon anymore. My time is valuable and my skin should stay in tact with my fingers and feet--not to mention that it's unfathomable that a business would make you feel unwelcome and as if you are bothering them, almost each time you are there.
