They have done a terrific job in the past but it is hit or miss. Today my gel pedicure was lopsided and she cut some nails too short and others uneven. The manicurist was horrible and the cuticles still show and the polish was slapped on. Very unprofessional. Today I cannot recommend them. Bummer. read more

Updating this review as I gave Femimacus a third chance because my usual shop was busy, and was in need of a deluxe pedicure and gel manicure one weekend. Although the salon was full on a busy Sunday, I was seated and started on immediately. They have an efficient system with 10+ workers, which allowed 2 people to be working on you at the same time to maximize efficiency. The deluxe pedicure was so relaxing and worth the $60. It came with a cooling leg mask, paraffin, and 20 minute massage. I also liked how my gel manicure turned out, and appreciate Tina getting as close to the cuticle as possible. Will be back soon if my other salon is busy. Happy to add Femimacus back to my rotation of neighborhood nail salons. read more

I was a walk-in for a gel mani+pedi today (Sunday). It was busy but they were very accommodating, attentive and kind. Multiple staff members checked on me. I didn't wait for longer than 10 minutes. I'm sad to write this review, because I've been going to this place for about 20 years, not super super regularly, but at least 5 - 6 times a year, and I've been there with friends and our daughters many times. We had the strangest experience the other day. It was evening - about an hour before they closed, but we had called and they accepted a 6 pm appointment. The atmosphere felt weird and tense the moment we walked in. Both my ladies (mani and pedi) seemed downright cranky, and it felt like the lady doing my pedi was taking out her frustrations on my cuticles (ouch). I've always asked for her because she's been so good at managing ingrowns, and has always shaped my nails beautifully. Neither was true this time. When I asked the mani lady about gloves to protect from the gel machine's UV rays (which they used to have - and still should) she answered me like I was stupid to ask. I mean really - they were so unfriendly that my daughter felt uncomfortable asking them to correct the gel color they were applying to her hands, even though they picked out the wrong one. Also - it was clear that the entire staff was talking about the customers and laughing their asses off. To a certain extent, I've always considered this one of their job perks - fair enough for a pretty tedious job, but this time it was over the top. One of the other customers even called them out on it. This was our last visit to Femi Macus. I've ignored for a long time that the salon is not that clean, the chairs are old and uncomfortable and some don't work. And more importantly, they are not careful enough about sanitizing the tools in between customers. Again, sorry to have to post this but it was really a bummer. We tipped 20% anyway and I feel like kind of a chump for doing so. read more

I stumbled across this nail salon while I was in the neighborhood. It was Mother's Day and it was busy. I asked if they have room for walk-ins and the gentleman said yes there will be a 20 minute wait. No problem for me since I had time to kill. I was called in and sat down immediately. I requested a simple manicure. The lady was nice and professional. She did a good job cutting my cuticles however I noticed the tools such as the cuticle pusher, filer and cuticle trimmer did not appear sanitized, clean and new. Usually what I seen in other salons, the technician would take out clean and sealed tools in a package for every new client. This is a big no no for me, it is unsanitary. Even though the job was done well, I am not happy with the idea that the tools used on me was not clean or sanitized. The guy that checked me out was very nice and friendly. Service was good. The price for a manicure was $25 listed but I was charged $26. Not sure where the $1 came from...but anyways they should update their price list. Overall, I will not return because I prefer a place that use sanitized and clean tools. read more

But I'm here with the thumb popped off and the middle finger barely hanging on by a thread. I took my overdue for a fill nails there on a Sunday afternoon because my regular place was closed... My nails look good and are beautifully sculpted and thinner than many other places. My pedicure was lovely- it's comfortable, clean, well staffed; the staff are very friendly and warm. The massage chairs work well and they only moved me to a table when it was time to apply the gel Polish to my nails... they also found someone to make the design I wanted on my nails... My girlfriend and I had high hopes for a relaxing afternoon getting mani-pedis together. She made a reservation for two at 3 PM. Unfortunately, when we arrived, every nail station was occupied. We waited patiently, and around 3:10, a station opened up. I offered for my friend to go first while I continued to wait. By 3:15, I asked when my turn would be, and I was told "just 5 minutes." That same answer came again at 3:25, and by 3:35, I had waited long enough. Frustrated, I walked over to Spa Soleil a few doors down-and I'm so glad I did. As soon as I walked into Spa Soleil, I felt a calm and welcoming atmosphere. I requested a mani-pedi and was seated in a brand-new massage chair. The floors were impeccably maintained-such a refreshing change compared to the worn-out floors at Femi Marcus. The woman who cared for me provided exceptional service, even giving me a relaxing neck massage while my feet soaked in a warm bath. Everything felt thoughtful and unhurried-no rushed "5 minutes" here. I don't get mani-pedis often, but when I do, I'll definitely return to Spa Soleil. : Diane was very rough when doing my nails. She was quite aggressive while handling my nails. At the very end before completing my nails she started filing her own nails before finishing my nails and started working on my nails again. I love this place but from here out I will only set an appointment with a particular person. I will not be getting my nails done by Diane for sure. That is my only complaint other than that, this place is amazing David is very interactive with all guests . They give you top quality of what you ask for. You also feel very welcomed in this salon. Paula did my set and was so meticulous about the shape which I very much appreciated! I don't normally do acrylics but all my nails broke and I had an upcoming business trip. Yes this place can be chaotic at times but it's because they have a large customer base. Every time I'm home I try and get here because you just can't get a mani/pedi like this where I live now. It's always a perfect polish job. My dip nails last forever and have to go get them taken off when they grow out too much. Terrible experience. Totally overpriced for services. Get price upfront! I was scammed. I got a manicure & pedicure. They painted my toes. I did not get my nails painted. The total for this service was $62. I questioned the price when my nails weren't painted & David stated "nail polish is free", do you want your nails painted?" I have never went to a nail shop where the paint was free. I then was charged $1 to use my debit card & was then was pressured to tip for a service which I was ripped off. Also, My big toes were cut differently. This place is also not taking Covid-19 seriously. The chairs are very tight together. There are no dividers between clients & the are reusing the foot scrub even though other places are using smaller disposable ones. This is the worst nail shop I have ever been to! First off the salon is very unsanitary. Files are not new and reused after every client. The nail desks are super dirty and they do not clean in between clients. The staff here are super rude and lie about knowing how to do designs you ask for. When I was getting my nails removed the nail tech hurt me so badly and made me bleed. They rip your nails off with nail tips not even a proper soak off! Soak offs are the healthiest way to remove nails. Since they rush and don't take their time I see why they don't bother to do a soak off. They will tell you that they are able to do the design you want but in reality they cannot do it right and just want to take your money. The lady doing my nails got mad at me for telling her I did not like the shape of my nails. Her acrylic application was so bad. I told the lady that I don't like thick nails and to please file them more. I asked for a pink and yellow ombré and I'm so disappointed with the results. I was charged 115 for this set which is very pricey for this mediocre set. I should have never came here I regret it. I recommend going to Woodminster nails they do an amazing job there!!! The staff talks shit in their language in front of clients highly unprofessional. Please beware of this place! Don't come here expecting good nails. This place needs to train their nail techs to do modern nail art. Don't lie to your clients to cheat them out of money. read more

My anniversary was soon approaching and I needed to have a gel manicure/pedicure done. I live out of town, so I took a poll with my local friends. They all recommended this salon. Luckily, they were able to squeeze me in for a same day appointment. When I arrived (4PM on a Friday) there was a long wait, but I was seated within 15 minutes because I had an appointment. I would definitely suggest making an appointment to avoid a 30-45 minute wait! They have a wide variety of gel colors, including chrome gel polish. The two ladies that worked on my nails and toes did a great job! I really liked that fact that they did not rush despite how busy they were. And my services only cost me $50!
