Can't say enough about how much I love Nancy at Nail Center and Spa! After trying two other salons for my IBD Gel nails (one of which I went to for over 6 months), I was never totally happy with how my nails looked; different lengths, some bulkier than others, lifting on the sides after just a few days, and the color was never what I was hoping for (natural looking nails w/out needing a french manicure polish). I finally decided to try Nail Center and Spa and was was referred to Nancy by a co-worker. WOW! I now have the most beautiful nails ever!! They aren't thick or bulky, they're all very even in length (and shorter since they grow super fast), and Nancy knew exactly what color to use to get me the most natural looking nails possible. She also trimmed my cuticles and gave me a few minutes of hand and arm massage at the end! Same price I paid at the other salons, but much better work! Nancy also gives excellent pedicures :) I'd give them 10 Stars if I could!! read more

Absolutely terrible experience. Bad technique! Bad service! Bad attitude! STAY AWAY ! I had an unacceptable experience at Nail Center & Spa today. I went in this afternoon to change the color of my gel nails. An elderly lady with short gray hair and glasses was assigned to me. While filing my nails, she caused sharp pain--I literally yelled out. Then she tried to soak all of my nails in a large amount of chemical remover, which I did not want. When I asked her not to use so much chemical, she switched to wrapping my nails in foil with cotton, but still applied excessive acetone to every finger. Suddenly, she stopped in the middle of the service and told me she would no longer continue. Another staff (Nancy) told me I had to go to another salon--while my nails were still unfinished. My nails were left in a mess--rough, uneven, and with different lengths. I had to go to another nail salon in Laguna Hills immediately to fix the damage. They told me my hard gel did NOT require soaking in chemicals at all--only the top layer needed to be filed before repainting. This old lady is NOT professional at all!! I would rate zero stars if I could. Do not waste your time or money here!!! read more

I moved from Woodland Hills where I was delighted with and loyal to my nail salon for 3 years. I enjoy a signature bio-gel manicure with a jaguar french tip design that I have been getting ever since discovering adventure travel and going on Jaguar safaris. My nails remind me of my fun trips. I walked into three local nail salons in or near Laguna Woods, and decided to give this Nail Center and Spa a try. I asked if they carried Diva nail products, (I knew exactly what colors to use on my nail design as my previous salon used Diva products). I was told yes, they did, which is initially why I decided to try this place. When I arrived, my technician Nancy took a look at what my previous manicure design was, and began pulling color swatches. I asked her if she had the Diva polishes, and she said no. I was at first not sure what to do, because choosing the colors can be time consuming and tricky. Nancy, however, was a pro. She did not make me feel rushed at the difficult task of trying to match my previous nails, and did a great job choosing with my input considered at every color choice. Honestly it probably took about 30 minutes just to guess at the color matches, but I wasn't made to feel like an inconvenience. She was intent at trying to get as close as possible to what I was used to. I was very happy with the end result and her attention to the details. I will attach a photo of my first visit of many to come. I am returning within the hour for another bio-gel mani with my safari tips, plus a pedicure with jaguar toes to match. I'm glad I gave this place a try, and happy with my nails. Also, if you schedule an appointment for later afternoon/evening, your service includes a glass of wine (so no more early morning appointments for me, I'm aiming for 5PM as my regular go-to for appointments! Nancy did a fabulous job on the jaguar spots, also, and I'm loving them. We decided next time to go a little less pink on the nail base, but overall so enjoying these! read more

I'm pretty particular about my mani/pedi, since I like my builder gel nails to look natural (not too thick), and my toes have a tendency to in-grow. I paid $108 ($88 for service and $30 holiday tip) for the most awful manicure and pedicure the day before Thanksgiving. I was one of the last appointments of the day. After I left, my nails started to bubble and I noticed around my cuticle the polish was completely uneven and they didn't paint to the base of my nails on my feet or my hands. The last time I came to this place, they did a good job, but after this experience I will not return. STAY AWAY! I had a lady today who gave me absolutely poor service because I didn't buy the deluxe pedicure package and chose a basic pedicure instead. Her entire demeanor changed when I politely turned it down. She made me paint my own nails to see different colors, made me remove nail polish on my own (she just kept handing me all the tools which I've never experienced before) and she worried about her own nails getting dirty, and was very unsanitary. She also half-assed each thing she was doing to my feet all because I didn't want a deluxe pedicure. I went one time before and was told there was a 15 minute wait and ended up waiting for an hour. I decided to give them another chance and they blew it with that horrible service. Spend your money somewhere else because these ladies are so careless about their customers! read more

This place is not consistent with their service. I got a set of dip nail service the first time & the nail tech used the UV lamp after each dip application. The second time the lady applied the dip & put me under the UV lamp at the end of the application. The reason why I don't get gel polish is to avoid using the UV lamp. I was confused as to why they use it but the lady said that's how they do things. Also my nails were bumpy & she painted over the dip without asking me because she thought the color didn't turn out well. The nails were not shaped nice & the polish over the dip made it look to thick. They need better technique here & training! read more

I was hoping I had found a good alternative to my regular nail place. This nail salon is near my job and would make it very convenient to frequent on my commute from work and home. Unfortunately I had an unimpressive experience. I'm trying to give my nails and toes a break from gel so I opted for a basic mani and pedi. I had to repeat myself 4 separate times that I wanted clear and nothing else. The two that worked on my toes and nails did an okay job, but nothing special. It's my fault I did not notice the shapes were not consistent on my nails. Some square and some more rounded. I have a friend that had a much better experience. Maybe they assumed since I wanted a simple service it wasn't worth their time tip wise. Probably won't be back unless I'm in a pinch. $32 + $8 in tip. Not worth it. read more

I was rather disappointed with my full set. They had a lot of specs and bubbles, rather lumpy too. My technician seemed to be in a rush and definitely would say it is not her best work. Older women, tan with small purplish reading glasses. She also failed to inform me that shaping them into a coffin shape was $5 but was kind enough to not charge it for failing to do so. I'm sure she does well if she takes her time and focuses on her work is turning out as she goes. I was rather pleased with my pedicure. My technician (had bleach blonde hair) took his time and made sure everything was done well. I do wish he would have let the hot towel cool for a second or two or asked if it was too hot before applying it. Over all he did a great job and great foot massage! People there were very nice and friendly. They were able to accommodate a large group of us on short notice. Quality was sort of all over the board. My gel mani and regular pedi were pretty bad (the pedicure tech missed large parts on the edges of my big and pinky toes)... the gel paint on my finger nails had bubbles). My sister's gel manicure looked like she painted it herself with her left (non dominated hand). My niece had a nice manicure though. Her tech seemed to be super detailed oriented. I went here for the first time to get a halloween set of nails and im absolutely in love! The customer service is wonderful and they are super helpful. The salon is very clean and very comfortable. Not to mention the price, i paid 60 plus a 20 tip because i came in a bit late. Im so disappointed at their dishonesty. I've bought gift certificates for family and friends. At checkout, once certificate has been redeemed, the staff increased the price of service to basically void the cgift certificate amount. THIS SALON IS THE WORST NAIL SALON I HAVE EVER BEEN TO Talk about unprofessional behavior They are completely disorganized and have no proper system of making appointments Everytime I make an appointment, they never wrote it down and I always end up having to wait over an hour or they tell me no one can do my nails that day and I should leave! Such a wonderful experience Jenny did my nails and she is so kind to me! I bite my nails and she has never said anything rude, she makes me feel safe and she is gentle with my nail care and she's the only person who has done my nails repeatedly and I trust her, she even knew when I wasn't aligning with a color and suggested if I wanted to switch which was what I was thinking but I didn't want to bother her, she has a very good sense for color themes and is a master at her craft!
