Absolutely terrible experience. Bad technique! Bad service! Bad attitude! STAY AWAY ! I had an unacceptable experience at Nail Center & Spa today. I went in this afternoon to change the color of my gel nails. An elderly lady with short gray hair and glasses was assigned to me. While filing my nails, she caused sharp pain--I literally yelled out. Then she tried to soak all of my nails in a large amount of chemical remover, which I did not want. When I asked her not to use so much chemical, she switched to wrapping my nails in foil with cotton, but still applied excessive acetone to every finger. Suddenly, she stopped in the middle of the service and told me she would no longer continue. Another staff (Nancy) told me I had to go to another salon--while my nails were still unfinished. My nails were left in a mess--rough, uneven, and with different lengths. I had to go to another nail salon in Laguna Hills immediately to fix the damage. They told me my hard gel did NOT require soaking in chemicals at all--only the top layer needed to be filed before repainting. This old lady is NOT professional at all!! I would rate zero stars if I could. Do not waste your time or money here!!!

Bio-Gel Manicure with Jaguar design french tips

I moved from Woodland Hills where I was delighted with and loyal to my nail salon for 3 years. I enjoy a signature bio-gel manicure with a jaguar french tip design that I have been getting ever since discovering adventure travel and going on Jaguar safaris. My nails remind me of my fun trips. I walked into three local nail salons in or near Laguna Woods, and decided to give this Nail Center and Spa a try. I asked if they carried Diva nail products, (I knew exactly what colors to use on my nail design as my previous salon used Diva products). I was told yes, they did, which is initially why I decided to try this place. When I arrived, my technician Nancy took a look at what my previous manicure design was, and began pulling color swatches. I asked her if she had the Diva polishes, and she said no. I was at first not sure what to do, because choosing the colors can be time consuming and tricky. Nancy, however, was a pro. She did not make me feel rushed at the difficult task of trying to match my previous nails, and did a great job choosing with my input considered at every color choice. Honestly it probably took about 30 minutes just to guess at the color matches, but I wasn't made to feel like an inconvenience. She was intent at trying to get as close as possible to what I was used to. I was very happy with the end result and her attention to the details. I will attach a photo of my first visit of many to come. I am returning within the hour for another bio-gel mani with my safari tips, plus a pedicure with jaguar toes to match. I'm glad I gave this place a try, and happy with my nails. Also, if you schedule an appointment for later afternoon/evening, your service includes a glass of wine (so no more early morning appointments for me, I'm aiming for 5PM as my regular go-to for appointments! Nancy did a fabulous job on the jaguar spots, also, and I'm loving them. We decided next time to go a little less pink on the nail base, but overall so enjoying these!

I paid $108 ($88 for service and $30 holiday tip) for the most awful manicure and pedicure the day before Thanksgiving. I was one of the last appointments of the day. After I left, my nails started to bubble and I noticed around my cuticle the polish was completely uneven and they didn't paint to the base of my nails on my feet or my hands. The last time I came to this place, they did a good job, but after this experience I will not return. As for the ambiance, it's clean but there was nothing on the TVs and I know they were talking and gossiping about me.

This place is not consistent with their service. I got a set of dip nail service the first time & the nail tech used the UV lamp after each dip application. The second time the lady applied the dip & put me under the UV lamp at the end of the application. The reason why I don't get gel polish is to avoid using the UV lamp. I was confused as to why they use it but the lady said that's how they do things. Also my nails were bumpy & she painted over the dip without asking me because she thought the color didn't turn out well. The nails were not shaped nice & the polish over the dip made it look to thick. They need better technique here & training!

I was hoping I had found a good alternative to my regular nail place. This nail salon is near my job and would make it very convenient to frequent on my commute from work and home. Unfortunately I had an unimpressive experience. I'm trying to give my nails and toes a break from gel so I opted for a basic mani and pedi. I had to repeat myself 4 separate times that I wanted clear and nothing else. The two that worked on my toes and nails did an okay job, but nothing special. It's my fault I did not notice the shapes were not consistent on my nails. Some square and some more rounded. I have a friend that had a much better experience. Maybe they assumed since I wanted a simple service it wasn't worth their time tip wise. Probably won't be back unless I'm in a pinch. $32 + $8 in tip. Not worth it.

Can't say enough about how much I love Nancy at Nail Center and Spa! After trying two other salons for my IBD Gel nails (one of which I went to for over 6 months), I was never totally happy with how my nails looked; different lengths, some bulkier than others, lifting on the sides after just a few days, and the color was never what I was hoping for (natural looking nails w/out needing a french manicure polish). I finally decided to try Nail Center and Spa and was was referred to Nancy by a co-worker. WOW! I now have the most beautiful nails ever!! They aren't thick or bulky, they're all very even in length (and shorter since they grow super fast), and Nancy knew exactly what color to use to get me the most natural looking nails possible. She also trimmed my cuticles and gave me a few minutes of hand and arm massage at the end! Same price I paid at the other salons, but much better work! Nancy also gives excellent pedicures :) I'd give them 10 Stars if I could!! read more

I came across this place when I was in need of a manicure and pedicure, so I decided to give it a try--and I'm so glad I did! I'm pretty particular about my mani/pedi, since I like my builder gel nails to look natural (not too thick), and my toes have a tendency to in-grow. That's why finding skilled, experienced technicians is so important to me. Both Lynn and Linda did an incredible job on my nails and toes. I'll definitely be coming back! read more

Do Not go here! Save your money, your time and your nails! They change the price every 5 minutes and they apologize and blame your nails! Its hardwr its longer and they don't have any customers which had to be a red flag for me! But I ignored and will never do this mistake again! They ise dirty over used files! Finishe nail jels ! STAY AWAY! I had a lady today who gave me absolutely poor service because I didn't buy the deluxe pedicure package and chose a basic pedicure instead. Her entire demeanor changed when I politely turned it down. She made me paint my own nails to see different colors, made me remove nail polish on my own (she just kept handing me all the tools which I've never experienced before) and she worried about her own nails getting dirty, and was very unsanitary. She also half-assed each thing she was doing to my feet all because I didn't want a deluxe pedicure. I went one time before and was told there was a 15 minute wait and ended up waiting for an hour. I decided to give them another chance and they blew it with that horrible service. Spend your money somewhere else because these ladies are so careless about their customers! read more

Terrible service. Unprofessional. Rude. Inexperienced. Don't go here for anything except them soaking your feet and the semi functional massage chair. She was cutting my nails in such a way that I'd end up with an infection like those videos you see all the time and I told her stop. There's a reason why this place is always empty and after today I know why. Zero stars isn't an option but zero stars. Go somewhere else. read more

I started going here about 4 months ago..and while it is difficult to change to a new Salon, I am truly grateful to find Nail Center and Spa for my Pedicures. Nick and Hannah are both amazing! The Salon is quiet and peaceful....what a treat!!! I am "older"...usually just have a basic Pedicure and....Nick recommended a little bit more expensive, with more "treats" last week. It was my birthday!! Yes, a little bit more expensive but well worth it. WOW! Have you ever had a Pedicure with "hot rocks".... oh, my!!! Yes! Can't wait to take my daughter-in-law there for a wonderful treat!!! read more

They cut me twice and refused to do a design for a manicure. I even tried to show a simplified version and they still said no. It was only 2 colors and a checkerboard. Shortly after they kept laughing and made me feel uncomfortable. I would not come back at all. read more

I get it. It's right around the corner from where you live so you drop by. But don't. Just do not go to the Nail Center and Spa. My first time there was disappointing but I thought I would give them another try. The second time was even more disappointing. It supposed to be a simple mani/pedi. The first person who I had for my pedi, for about two minutes, I believe did not have sanitary utensils and seemed to want to not want to touch me. The second person proceeded somewhat in the right direction until I pointed out all the sides of the cuticles she missed then she simply said you are ready for polish now. I pointed out what she missed three times but she said we will fix it when you come back in two weeks. I said I am never coming back here. And won't. read more

I was rather disappointed with my full set. They had a lot of specs and bubbles, rather lumpy too. My technician seemed to be in a rush and definitely would say it is not her best work. Older women, tan with small purplish reading glasses. She also failed to inform me that shaping them into a coffin shape was $5 but was kind enough to not charge it for failing to do so. I'm sure she does well if she takes her time and focuses on her work is turning out as she goes. I was rather pleased with my pedicure. My technician (had bleach blonde hair) took his time and made sure everything was done well. I do wish he would have let the hot towel cool for a second or two or asked if it was too hot before applying it. Over all he did a great job and great foot massage! Would recommend him for pedis for sures! read more

Hello I'm Marz, I've been getting my nails done at Nail Center and Spa for several months now. It's very in a very convenient location, the staff is very friendly and accommodating. My experiences have been enjoyable, the nail techs are amazing, I always leave with a smile. I'm bad with names but to my assumption the manager, whom last day was today, was very very kind, extremely helpful, and always smiling, thank you and you will be missed my friend take care. People there were very nice and friendly. They were able to accommodate a large group of us on short notice. Quality was sort of all over the board. My gel mani and regular pedi were pretty bad (the pedicure tech missed large parts on the edges of my big and pinky toes)... the gel paint on my finger nails had bubbles). My sister's gel manicure looked like she painted it herself with her left (non dominated hand). My niece had a nice manicure though. Her tech seemed to be super detailed oriented. Also, they were super slow. My mani pedi took over 1.5 hours. Prices were pretty low though... so I guess you get what you paid for. read more

I went here for the first time to get a halloween set of nails and im absolutely in love! The customer service is wonderful and they are super helpful. The salon is very clean and very comfortable. Not to mention the price, i paid 60 plus a 20 tip because i came in a bit late. I wasn't too sure what to expect but i love the way my nails came out, and i 100% recommend this place for getting a set done! I will definitely be back for a fill and new gel soon! read more

AMAZING!!!!! I was a walk in and was able to sit down and start my nails with in 15 minutes. Unfortunately I did not get my technician's name but she one of the best I've ever seen! Beautiful nail shape, EXCELLENT APPLICATION and I requested a design on my right hand and she did an amazing job! Price... VERY REASONABLE!! 10/10 would come back for quality and price!! read more

Im so disappointed at their dishonesty. I've bought gift certificates for family and friends. At checkout, once certificate has been redeemed, the staff increased the price of service to basically void the cgift certificate amount. This means I basically gifted the salon whatever $ amount I paid for certificates. Here I thought it would make a thoughtful gift. The gift receiver basically got no gift me. THIS SALON IS THE WORST NAIL SALON I HAVE EVER BEEN TO Talk about unprofessional behavior They are completely disorganized and have no proper system of making appointments Everytime I make an appointment, they never wrote it down and I always end up having to wait over an hour or they tell me no one can do my nails that day and I should leave! Yesterday when this happened, I told Them it was not acceptable and someone named Leslie came and started yelling at me and screaming saying I should go to another salon if I don't want to wait. She was so rude that it made my daughter cry. The last couple of times my daughter got a manicure it was sooo badly done! They started chipping in 1 day and they even were so rough with her nails that one Started bleeding. The manicure was so messy and not Professional at all. When you bring it to their attention, they just yell back and don't do anything I would not recommend anyone go to this salon. Protect your self respect, time, and nails! read more

Such a wonderful experience Jenny did my nails and she is so kind to me! I bite my nails and she has never said anything rude, she makes me feel safe and she is gentle with my nail care and she's the only person who has done my nails repeatedly and I trust her, she even knew when I wasn't aligning with a color and suggested if I wanted to switch which was what I was thinking but I didn't want to bother her, she has a very good sense for color themes and is a master at her craft! Nancy at the front desk is also a nail tech and she is so sweet and I feel a very kind and inviting energy when I come here! This is the only place I get my nails done, truth!!!!!! read more

I politely told her multiple times to please be more gentle because it was painful, and she still continued using excessive force on other nails. She said she would file my nails after removal, but they were still sharp and uneven, so I asked if she could trim and file them more so my natural nails wouldn't snag. I even asked ahead of time if that would cost extra, and she said it was still only $15. After doing it, she became visibly irritated and kept giving me attitude, saying I should've told her from the beginning, and that I was asking for too much, while continuing to complain under her breath. Now my nail beds are extremely sensitive and sore. On top of that, she acted like she expected a tip after treating me that way, absolutely not.

While she was trying to make herself comfortable in the chair the lady started to telling her don't get up don't do it like that. And I told her hey it's okey she's not doing anything. She said oh because last time a child fell from that chair that's why I'm saying. I didn't like her attitude, obviously if you're seen me with my child it means I didn't have anyone to be watching her. If I would , why would I bring her with me ? This is not how you should be handling the situation. And just speaking your own language in front of a client not professional. I don't understand you I don't know what you're talking about. Anyways this was a lesson to me , I did go back to my old nail salon , they are more professional , they have a smiley face for their client and they don't ask questions that they shouldn't ask. One thing I loved right away was their drink menu with both alcoholic and non alcoholic options. I ordered a Vietnamese coffee and it was creamy smooth and such a nice treat during my services. I got their Organic Luxury Pedicure and this is where they really stand out compared to other salons. They use fresh organic ingredients and offer multiple massage options including hot stones tools and a massage gun. Instead of using a harsh callus scraper they use a callus remover gun which was gentle but very effective. My legs felt deeply moisturized and my heels were incredibly smooth without any discomfort. For my nails I came in with Gel X already on. They did not do a brand new full set which I appreciated. Instead they helped me by doing a builder gel refill fixing the shape cleaning up my cuticles and making my nails look fresh again. Everything looked so much cleaner and more balanced when I left. I also appreciated that all gel based services come with a two week guarantee which really shows how much they care about quality and customer satisfaction. Overall Magic X Nails and Spa focuses on taking care of their clients instead of rushing through appointments and I will definitely be coming back.

She makes them look so natural, elegant, and perfectly shaped every time. She pays attention to every detail, works in a clean and relaxing environment, and always makes me feel welcome. I had no idea this place even existed in the same plaza I frequent for my Trader Joe's runs! The…read morenail salon is pretty tiny, but clearly they're busy because it was packed when I went. I didn't have an appointment since I wasn't sure what my schedule would look like, so I just walked in--and luckily, they were able to take me! I ended up getting a classic manicure and deluxe pedicure. I brought my own nail polish, so I didn't pick anything from their selection this time. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. So glad I finally discovered this little gem! I can definitely see myself coming back, especially when I'm already there doing my Trader Joe's run.

I chose the Signature pedicure, which is $45 and includes hot stones and a massage. I don't usually do both a dip powder manicure and a pedicure each time I go to Luminous Nails & Spa so it is definitely a treat this visit. Leyna, as the owner of this wonderful nail salon, does an amazing job hiring talented, kind and hard working women, so even if you don't get Michelle for your pedicure, you will still receive excellent service, with care taken to meet your specific needs.
