I went here on Saturday and am still at a loss for words. I'd say I had a bad experience but it was so bad that "bad" isn't the right word. I've been getting my nails done every 2-3 weeks for over 3 years now. Plus more prior to the break during covid when things were closed. I have never once complained. If I don't like something, I just don't go back. This was... bizarre. I should have known better when the tech started trying to peel off my existing dip by using a tip edge she pulled from her box of tips. I had to ask for her to use acetone. At which point she did. I could tell this wasn't going well and did ask a couple times during the dip process, "is this how it normally looks when you're in the process of doing them?" "Can someone just take a look?" I looked to the coworkers and no one would come. "I'm a little scared but ok if you're sure" She kept trying to shape them with the file. But the base was too wet so chunks flew off. Then she'd patch it like spackle you'd do to repair a wall. Finally after repeating this several times and me asking those questions, she said "is this better?" At this point it had been well over an hour (conservative. It was likely closer to 2) WHAT?! I felt like a crazy person! I asked if someone else could finish it, she said no one else was available. I said no, it's not better. She asked if I wanted it removed, I said yes. But I proceeded to take a photo to show my friends bc I was so confused as to if I was losing my mind. She said "no take one of the other hand that's done" (except for the top coat) Again, whaatttttt??? The hand she approved is on the left! I got so stressed out bc even though I was speaking at a normal voice, other patrons could hear me bc there weren't that many people in there. She ended up soaking it off but after 5 mins I was so uncomfortable I grabbed a paper towel and started wiping it off myself and then left and finished removing it at home. The other piece of this story is that the whole time the tech kept insisting that my previous mani was acrylic. No idea what that had to do with anything! It wasn't, I haven't done acrylic since like jr prom in high school! Who even cares though. Fine let's say it was acrylic. What's that got to do with this?! Dead. read more

I highly recommend here. They are always super kind and professional, I never gotten my toes done before because it's one of my insecurities due to having arthritis, and they didn't mind at all and I will be definitely coming back. I also brought my niece here, and they absolutely adore children, and they made sure she got the same experience as I did. I also didn't know they had a massage chair while you got your toes done, but that was awesome experience too. They also have good communication and easy to book the appointment! read more

This was my first experience getting my nails done in the southern Maine area. My niece and I really wanted to have a girls day so we called numerous places and Today's Nails was the best price we could find. When we walked into the salon Phil, the owner, made sure to come talk with both of us and introduce himself. The nail tech, Ann did my gel nails and she did an amazing job (as pictured)! My niece got acrylics done by Phil and he also did an amazing job. He made sure to ask my niece if the length/color etc was what she wanted as he went along. He was so personable and I would 10/10 recommend getting your nails done and showing this business some love! read more

I went in today for a shellac color change expecting it to be pretty normal even though I had never been here before. Every nail salon I've ever been to is around $15 for this service. I don't usually pay for a full manicure until I see how they do a color change. It's typically a good indication on how well they can do a regular shellac manicure. There were only a couple of people getting services done today so they sat me right down after I had picked a color. I said from the very beginning that all I wanted was a color change. My first mistake was not asking how much it was going to cost from the beginning. She took my old shellac off in the most peculiar way (I get a lot of shellac manicures and I had NEVER experienced this). She poured boiling hot water into a glass bowl and then filled another glass bowl with acetone. She then proceeded to put the acetone bowl into the BOILING water bowl and shove my hands into it. It was way too hot, but she held my hands down and it was absolute torture. While she rushed through my color change, she heckled me to get my eyebrows waxed. I said "no". Then she asked if I wanted to get a pedicure, I said "no" and that I didn't have time. She then asked if I was sure I only wanted a color change and not the full manicure, once again I said "no". After all of that she still asked if I wanted to come in tomorrow for a pedicure. I replied "no" and said once again that I didn't have time. I loved the pink summer color I picked out and they had some good options for shellac colors, but underneath my nails is now a mess of shellac top coat and carelessly placed pink. She told me the price- $20 and I was shocked. I asked how much a regular shellac manicure was and she claimed it to be $30. Needless to say, I wouldn't have even paid the standard $15 for the service I received. I will never be going here again. read more

Review here says that they accept credit cards - - WRONG! The lady that did my pedicure had beautiful nails and I was kinda hoping that I'd get the same -- - WRONG AGAIN! She not only rushed through the pedicure but she cut my big toe nail so short that it doesn't even match the shape of my toe nor the other big toe nail. The one main thing that REALLY GOT ME, was the fact that the guy nail tech that was there was making fun of Chaz Bono. For the love of God, really? Don't we have enough things to worry about already than to make fun of another human being??? All-in-all, I will continue my search for a nail salon. Parking is good, location is good and the business itself is nice and clean inside. I just wished the service and professionalism matched the ambiance. read more

This is my go to nail shop when I'm in Maine, absolutely love it! It's incredibly clean, they have just about every OPI and Essie color ever, and the employees are really just the sweetest. I was really looking forward to a pedicure, so I came here because the pedicure is only $25 which is quite cheap. Except I was not happy with the pedicure I had at all. First of all, they barely had any colors. The nail polish shelves were empty, and I picked out a color but when the lady opened it she said it couldn't be used because it was too dry. So I picked another light color, but she didn't do enough coats so the color on my nails just look weird now. My nails did not look nice at all after the appointment. I will not return! The pedicure I got is the terrible. My nails are rough and the polish applied unevenly. The workers continually spoke loudly to each other and were downright rude to the customers. The woman that worked on me continually pulled my feet and legs. When my cell phone rang they literally screamed at me to shut it off. Appointments not necessary, but Philip and Kim typically have the most appointments booked in advance. Larger salons may have multiple options for pedicures, but if you want a standard pedicure, in a smaller local salon, Todays's Nails is a great and reliable option. read more

This salon has been open for 15 years, I started going 10 years ago. I lived nearby and established a nice relationship with the owners. I loved seeing their business expand and the space renovated throughout the years. Four years ago I moved out of town, just far enough that it didn't make sense for me to drive all that way. Today I happened to be in the neighborhood and popped in. I didn't have both feet yet in the door and Kim was exclaiming my name hello! I couldn't believe she remembered and recognized me! They fit me in to their busy schedule for a wonderful pedicure and gel manicure and had me on my way within an hour. Such a treat to catch up and also to see their new look- bright and clean walls and floors, modern lighting and plenty of seating. I especially adored their children's-sized pedicure chairs. The shop was abuzz with happy holiday customers of all ages, the ladies next to me- a woman and her mother-in-law, 90 years young. Sweet, sweet. read more

This is a good salon that I have been going to for about 5 years now. The owner is very accommodating. Sadly, there are two more salons in town now and they are newer. more beautiful and more cheerful. This shop needs a facelift. The owner does an excellent job if you have fake nails. His wife does a perfect manicure and pedicure. However, his wife is not always in the shop. I got a bad mainicure a few months ago by a woman with dirty hands and nails who used a nail file that was way too rough. The polish was not carefully put on and looked terrible. The shop was and, in my opinion, always has been very low on polish choices compared to the other two shops in town. I went home extremely dissatisfied this time. As much as I like the owner and his wife, I doubt I will go back. Also, having to bring cash now is so out of date. read more
