My review is based on French tip regular polish: I came in on a Friday, early afternoon and it was packed. After about a thirty minute wait, I sat down, and immediately I felt as though the young lady doing my nails was rushing. She clipped my nails and then didn't use a base coat and only one coat of white on the tips. I questioned her on it but she didn't seem to understand. Not surprisingly, they chipped the same night. I was in the area the following Monday, which was Labor Day, I decided to stop in, but they were closed. I called the next day and spoke with Mike and explained the situation. I usually always try to rectify a bad situation directly with the business first, before I post a negative review. Anyways, he was very nice and told me to come in and the correction would be of no charge but to call ahead so that the same person could do the correction. I did come back but I requested someone else to do the correction. An older gentleman did the correction. He said that my nails were almost too short for French Manicure. Keep in mind that the first girl was the only who cut them to that length. He too didn't use a base coat, but this time two coats of white were used. Three days later they chipped again. In addition to that, this time the tips were crooked in several spots. This is my second horror story in a Hamburg nail salon. I better move away from this trend and try a different, less popular area. read more

This salon is very unprofessional! I've been having my nails and pedi's done here for many, many years. I make appts. only to get there and have to wait 30-40 minutes or longer. Then the real kicker was yesterday! I made an appt. I was on time as always. Of course, they were behind and I had to wait over 30 minutes but that's ok. The male nail tech they assigned me seemed stressed and not very friendly but that's ok too. I had a photo on my phone of the nails THEY did for me at this time last year. I had shown the photo to the hostess (whom I know), she said no problem. When I showed the technician he was less than thrilled but proceeded to do my nails. When it came time to paint the design on them he became agitated and did a terrible job on one finger. I politely asked him to do it again. It was a mess. He stood up in front of a packed place and loudly and rudely said "no one has ever done this nail work here! You did not have that done here." I calmly told him I did have a technician at THAT very salon do my nails and artwork last year for Christmas. He continued to argue with me!!!! He actually said "you've NEVER gotten that done here! ". I had had it by this time. I stood up and asked him if he was calling me a liar? He would not answer me. I was livid! Lynn the hostess came over and tried to make amends but he was still wanting to argue. I was ready to walk out at that point but Lynn apologized for him and finished my nails the exact way I had requested. I have been in customer service for 40 years and have never witnessed such bad service. I will NEVER go back unless they make a formal apology. I was humiliated. I was a client, a paying customer...this is absolutely unacceptable. I do not recommend that anyone use this salon. The owner Mike needs to train his employees to have better manners! read more

I visited this salon yesterday March 4, 2018 with my Mother. I advised the tech that I wanted to just to remove the gel polish and add new gel polish. I pointed out a couple of nails that had product on them and she began to bash whoever did this 'did a horrible job' and then inquired as to where I had them done etc. I thought her remarks were very unprofessional. I pointed out the two nails that had product, one was lifting off of the nail and I want to remove the product on this one and the other one altogether. She advised she would assess my nail once she took the polish off. I felt that was a mistake because I had requested she take it off regardless of what she thought was appropriate. I'm the only paying for the services. Once the polish was softened enough for it to be removed she proceeded to scrape my polish off with her nail. EWWW! I told her not to do that and preferred she used sanitized tools to remove the polish. She said she knew best how to do her job and it was harder on Nails to use a metal tool. I proceeded to tell her not to do that and to get sanitize tools. She refused and got up and storms off. I see her grab her handbag and go out the back door appearing to leave. I continue to sit there with my nails some still soaking and others with the polish ready to be taken off. Then I assume another tech that is a manager comes over and again proceeds to take my polish off with her nail. Again I said no and that I preferred someone to use sanitized tools to use on my nails. I tell her not only is it unsanitary, it's also unprofessional and just gross! They send over another tech who proceeds to bring tools with her but they're not in a sanitary bag. Again I ask if those tools had been sanitized and without even a response to my question, She gets up and leaves. Then they send yet another tech over, this time a male. He had a bag of what appeared to be sanitized tools but again I inquire because they appeared to be already opened without a date written on the tag. By this point I was ready to just leave with whatever condition my nails were in because I was beyond furious at this point. He appeared to be annoyed when I inquired about the tools and stood up and yelled that he couldn't work under these conditions. Good Lord! Really!!! Once my Mother was finished, I paid for her nails and left. They didn't even attempt to ask me for payment, I had already decided I wasn't paying for anything further. They fought me on every inquiry I had with regards to sanitary tools. It was like they were too busy to be bothered to get up and get some. What salon doesn't want to operate on the side of caution and who wouldn't want sanitary tools??? I WILL NEVER USE THIS SALON AGAIN!!! Rude techs. How do places like this stay in business?? I have been coming here for a long time because of the convenience of the location and I can always count on it being clean. The problem isn't the esthetic of the salon or the staff, the issue is the quality of the service. The past several times I have gotten my nails done the service has been super rushed, and the quality of the work has been total crap. My nails haven't been filed into a nice or consistent shape, no cuticle care and the gel or SNS have peeled or chipped within the week. This issue seems to be consistent through the majority of the technicians. I have officially decided to find a new nail salon where technicians take more pride in their clients and in the work. I cannot believe this place has such good reviews! I went to try it this afternoon and it was the most disgusting nail salon I have ever been in. There were name clippings, band aids and cotton balls all over the floor! If they can't even sweep the floor I don't want to think what's on their tools. We made an appointment, signed in on arrival and proceeded to be ignored until employee finally asked if I "have a question." We left once we saw the state of the pedicure stations. I don't know what to think after going here. I got the citrus spa pedi and natural mani, and my experience was not relaxing at all. In fact I probably felt more pain than relief. What with the inconsistent water temps, the abrasive "massage", and (wait for it) blood. Yes, my technician went so hard on my cuticles that my fingers bled for a solid ten minutes. That, to me is unacceptable. And of course, she tried to stop it with a cotton ball soaked in polish remover, which made it hurt more. I went in to get a gel pedicure and full acrylic set with gel polish. The pedicure focused more on a leg massage, which felt nice, but I wasn't there to get a massage. When they moved me to get my nails done, I had another tech assigned which I found odd because the pedi tech I was working with went to do my new nail tech pedi customer. I feel that they are practicing this switch so the customer feels like they should tip both techs. The bottom of my feet weren't as soft as I expected and the the tech told me my total was $110 for a full gel set and a gel pedicure. The pricing is outrageous for a service you can get anywhere else for 60 bucks. Thee service was not worth the price. read more

I have been to this salon a few times, but will not go back. Went in for a regular pedicure and a gel manicure. My nails look pretty good but my toes look bad. The cost should have been $65 according to their website. I was charged $67, not sure where that number came from. I gave him $80 (4 20's) and asked for change. He took my money, said thank you and headed to the back. I was so shocked I sat their a minute but he never returned. He did not deserve that much of a tip and he knew it. I came in here 4/18 two days before prom. I was helped right away. I asked for pink and white it's always busy here but I was seating quickly. However the guy who did my nails kept wondering around the salon before even coming over to the station. When he finally made it over there he asked me what I wanted and I told him pink and white with a square shape. Everything was normal until he was "cleaning up around my nails" with a metal piece of equipment that was really sharp. Every single one of my cuticles were cut and bleeding. He never even apologized or seemed to care that it was physically cutting into my skin and that it was cutting me. Also most of my nails were uneven and the white part in my nails was not clean and precise like I have experienced before. I have heard good things about this place but my experience was terrible. I went yesterday before my vacation and left completely let down. I have been going here for years. Usually only twice a year as a treat. I would have been embarrassed if I would have taken someone with me. The chair they sat me in for my pedicure had holes in the back from the massager. The facility itself looks good, but the chairs look haggard. The lady that did my nails did a good job on my feet but I wish I wouldn't have spent the money on my fingernails. I am very impressed with this nail salon, I brought my 7 year old in with me for her birthday and I was nervous they weren't going to be very accepting of having a little girl in there. But they were so great with the both of us, very professional and nice and easy to communicate with! The girl even painted Hello Kittys on her nails! Always one of the busiest nail salons in town, and there is a reason. They not only provide exceptional service but it is efficient. There are no TVs (so don't come on game day) and for as busy as it always is, I still seem to find a way to relax. They have 14 massaging pedicure chairs, and 9 manicure stations. Most of the time I never even have to leave my pedicure chair to get the manicure, as they bring it to me. I've been to several places on the east side of town and I keep coming back here because it's the best. read more

This place is honestly a joke. I went twice. Once because my friend invited me and paid for me. The next time because I wanted to see if it was really as bad as the first time. Both times I was insulted by the person doing my nails... The one time the manicurist was pushing my cuticles so hard that it hurt and I asked him to stop and when he didn't I asked the manager for someone else. So they switched out, the one manicurist went to the back and glared at me for the rest of my stay while the other guy doing my nails told me I'm "not that fat" when I said I enjoy going to the gym... This place is one of the worst and most expensive nail salons in Lexington in (Hamburg Shopping Center). I just paid $172 for 4 terrible half a$$ pedicure jobs. The 4 people doing our feet we're in such a hurry and cut corners to get our feet done as quick as possible so they could rush to the other clients. For example on my 9 year old daughter's feet the lady didn't even bother taking off the old nail polish and painted over the old color that wasn't even the same color. On my toes the man didn't even cut down the longer toenails and I asked for a French pedicure with the white tips and got a sloppy knock off of what I was supposed to get. The white tips of my toes have dirt and bubbles in them and I was told that it was only going to be $15 extra and he charged me $25 extra. All 4 of us paid for the deluxe pedicures that was supposed to have the longer massages on our the legs and feet. We each got less than five minutes of massaging. And also they charged my 9-year-old full price as an adult when it said that it was going to be cheaper on the pamphlet. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless you're wanting to get a half a$$ pedicure for more than the average cost of a pedicure in Lexington. There pedicures are $38 each when the average cost in Lexington is around $25-$28 each. read more

The facility was great. There was no strong scent of acetone and it was a very professional environment. I paid close attention to tools and while they do not use disposable tools, they do keep things clean and orderly (not sterile). That being said, my tech, Jesse, was the worst I've ever had at any nail salon. Not only was he blatantly rude but also got nail polish all over me ( palms of my hands to my forearms). This place is gross! If I could leave no stars I would. I'm not from Lexington but moved here and been living here about 7months now. Decided to get a pedicure cure and I was in the area near this place so I stopped here. Bad choice! First off pedicure prices are way over priced in Kentucky but that wasn't the issue. I wouldn't mind paying if the quality of work was worth it. So I walked in and was told to pick a color, once my color was chosen they sat me in chair and ran the water. I sat there for a few minutes chose what type of pedicure I wanted then the lady started my feet. But hold on..... She started to pull out a dirty ass old used nail file that I don't know how many other peoples feet have been using!!!! I immediately stopped her and asked if other people have been using that and she said, yes. I asked you don't give each client a new set of nail files and buffer? She said, no, we use this one it's still good. That's when I told her that is disgusting and poor hygiene skills from a place that should know better than doing that! She should've known that you can get athletes foot or any kind of bacteria from that, shame on her!!! So I told her that I was leaving, but I would pay for them trimming my nails, but they would not touch me feet ever again!!! They told me I didn't have to pay and looked confused as why I was leaving but I didn't Care! I knew I made the right decision on walking out before I had some nasty bacteria on my feet. So beware of this nail salon, it's not normal to use dirty nail files and buffers or other instruments on you! Each nail file and buffer should be new per customer and the instruments they used need to be sanitized! I get this service in Seattle where I'm from and I expect nothing less. I went in to this nail salon on a Sunday. Paid $40 for a full set with painted tips, plus a tip. I noticed on Wednesday that 4 of the nails on my left hand were "bubbling" up in the same exact corner. The next day, 2 more. So I went in before work on Thursday and told them I just wanted a refund. I was so angry that I paid that much for something that was just falling apart before my eyes. I've had acrylics before. The condition that these nails were in were worse than nails I've had for a month or more, from cheaper places at that. The manager laughed in my face, told me they NEVER refund anything no matter what. I was furious. Finally I got him to agree to at least fix it. By the time I went in for my appointment on Saturday (so 6 days after my full set was put on) I had 9 nails that were ready to fall off. They essentially just gave me a fill in to fix it and the guy that did that did do a much better job than the original guy. I had him paint the whole nail instead of the tips because I didn't even want to be able to see if it happened again. I had already made up my mind I'm not going back there. So in summary, they did a HORRIBLE job, wouldn't give me a refund, finally agreed to fix them. They're over priced. Use cheap products. And awful customer service. The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars is because the guy that fixed my nails did a good job considering the circumstances. My advice is go spend your money elsewhere and get better quality for your money! read more

Great experience. English speaking techs made it easy for me to communicate my wants and needs. Super organized with someone at the front door making sure customers were paired up with techs. Did not rush, which I appreciate. Laid back but posh and efficient. I took my niece and we both enjoyed ourselves. My friends and I stopped here on our vacation for a relaxing nail afternoon. We all had appointments and I am glad we did since it was super busy and the walk in wait time was over 30 minutes. The 3 other girls I was with enjoyed their nail experience. My experience was the complete opposite. I got a gel manicure and was done in 1/2 the time as the others. I had to ask the guy to fix several nails where he missed top coat, and he only fixed a few of the nails and seemed very annoyed that I asked him to fix his work. It has been about a week and most of my nails have chipped of completely. For the price of this place I expected my gel nails to last closer to 2 weeks. read more
