Saw the reviews on Yelp and wanted to see how this place was. The workers are all super nice. Went at 12 on a Sunday and got seated right away. I unfortunately still spent two hours in the shop though and for the price I paid, the quality of the manicure could've been a lot better. I wanted to come back inside to ask them to fix it but I overheard the lady saying they were short staffed that day and I had just spent two hours in there. I called them but my calls are not going through to the number that's on Yelp or even on google to see if I can schedule to get my nails repainted or fixed but have had no luck. read more

This nail salon was great! Everyone was nice and the environment was clean. I didn't make an appointment so I did a walk in and was seen under 10 minutes. I got a Medi Pedi with gel acrylic on my hands. The woman that started on my Medi took her time but was fast and I seen no issues with my nails. The two men that worked on my Pedi did amazing. I got Gel X on Monday and by Friday FIVE of my nails had chipped. I went back in Friday to get them fixed and they offered no apologies and no discount either after redoing them. They said it was my fault for using my regular nails for. gel instead of getting extensions. I've been getting gel on my natural nails for years and never have they started chipping in 24 hours. The facilities are nice and the people who work there seem nice, but there are too many nail salons in Lexington for me to bother giving another chance. read more

I went here for several months and was pleased until I wasn't. The day before leaving on vacation I went in for a fill in. Had a female tech who was more interested in speed than quality. She wouldn't let me stay under the light until it went off. When I questioned it, she said it was fine. It wasn't. During vacation the top coat peeled off and all my nails had lumps! When I returned I went back and showed them my nails. After arguing they agreed to do the fill in free and I was to pay for the polish which I agreed to. I thought it was fair. But when it was finished they told me there was no charge but I wasn't welcome back!! The girl who did the original work participated in the discussion. I don't know what she was saying since it wasn't English but the entire experience was bad. All I asked was they take responsibility for the one obvious failure. Very disappointing read more

My friend bought a gift certificate to this place for my birthday in August. Since I'm only in town one day a week, I finally had the chance to use it - and boy am I glad I did! This salon is amazing, clean, friendly staff, and they really pay attention to detail. This is the first time I've gotten bling on my nails and I have to say I feel like a princess now. Andy was my nail tech and he really pays attention to what he's doing. I usually have sore finger tips after, but his careful attention saved me from the sore fingers. I had the SNS which is my favorite. I don't know the name of the gal who did my pedicure, but she was very gentle and man alive, gave an amazing foot and leg message! This is the place I'll be visiting when I'm in town and have the time. If I were here on a regular basis, I'd definitely make this place my go to. read more

Update I got the crappiest nail job. The lady kept getting angry at me for correcting her. She gave me rounded nail shape and I wanted to keep the almond shape so she half assed reshaped them. She polished my nails but didn't clean up my cuticles. When I asked her to correct something- she'd get an attitude- half ass fix it in an angry tone and say "is that good?" - I just got tired of asking. I shouldn't have paid for that crap. Maybe Chic nails is going down in service, or maybe their employees need to stop taking back to back clients and take a break. Either way- this is bull. I'm embarrassed and will certainly go somewhere to get it fixed. Also, I brought my daughter with me and I spent 140.00 for acrylic fill, pedicure and with regular nail polish for each of us. We didn't get to sit together, or chat. They sat her at the nails and me at the pedicure. Then flip flopped. We spent three hours in the same place and didn't even spend time together. Pretty crappy. I don't get my nails done for myself. Ever. Until one cool day last November. I don't know what it was -- but a desire to have some color on my nails and a little extra time between appointments led me to a search for nail salons nearby. Thanks to Yelp, I found this one. And I want to go back. Despite what the Yelp listing says, Chic Nails DOES accept walk-ins although people with appointments take priority. When I walked in, only two other people were being serviced so I did not have to wait at all. The space is bright and modern, yet inviting, with very friendly and accommodating people working here. Manicures are $15, gel manicures are $35. I opted for a regular manicure because I'm a newbie to them. I still felt like they gave me the care and patience that I would have received with any other service. The person who did my nails helped me find the color I was looking for (a dark gray), was patient with me, and took his time to do a great manicure. At the end, I sat with my nails under some kind of UV light that dried my nails really well! Because it was just a regular manicure, I didn't expect it to last very long, but it lasted about two weeks with chips occurring from my own mistakes (stay away from hand sanitizer if you ever get your nails done!). A lovely little place in Hamburg. I have gotten my nails done once, total, in my whole life before this, so I'm easy enough to please. I just got engaged and we're doing photos soon & this place is close to my fiancé's work, so I decided to give it a go. It was great! My male nail tech was not chatty, which I didn't mind because I don't always love small talk with strangers. He was focused & efficient, and honestly? I like these nails a lot better than the last time I got them done, and they were about $30 cheaper. They had a good selection of lil stickers you could add to your design, but my only quip with the place is that I wish they had dried flowers or flower petals that you'll see in some nail salons these days, instead of just stickers. I really don't know anything about nails, but I'm glad I went here all in all! read more

This new salon is in Hamburg, near Party City. It used to be Foxy Nails but after a remodel, it's now under new management. That new manager just so happens to be my daughter's all time favorite nail technician. So, she followed him from Lavish Nails to here, where he works now. Speaking of Lavish Nails, the decor and atmosphere are very similar to Lavish Nails. And let me tell you, this place will catch on just like LN and you will not be able to get in or an appointment. So, I probably shouldn't be sharing about this new gem. They have a ton of gel and SNS colors to choose from. SNS is the latest nail trend, it's stronger than gel and lasts longer. It's a powder and dip method that goes onto your real nails. Today, I just got an acrylic fill-in, which is $23 and french tip polish is an extra $5. So, the prices are comparable to other places, despite the prime Hamburg location. I paid before the polish, so I'd already tipped on my card. There was a note posted at the dryers that indicates that they prefer tip to be in cash or check, so keep that in mind and don't tip with your credit like I did. Next time, I'll know. Speaking of the dryer, it even has a UV light, which is supposed to set your color to last longer. I've never noticed that anywhere else. Another impressive observation was the pedicure basin covers... like a shower cap. I like it! read more

Excellent experience! This was my first time at this nail salon and I was impressed, I think this will be my new "go-to salon". I called and made an appointment and the man that I spoke with was extremely helpful in helping answer the questions I had and allowed me to make an appointment for the same afternoon. My appointment was with Kate, kudos to her, she does great work! I had requested to remove my acrylic nails (improperly done at a different, nearby salon) and then after the removal do a gel-polish manicure on my natural nail. Throughout the entire process, Kate kept me informed of what she was doing. She was very thoughtful, kind, and knowledgeable of the entire process. She gave me exactly what I had asked for and didn't try to sell me other services. My nails look great and I left very satisfied. I can't wait for future visits. read more

I do recommend it here as they consistently do a great job with my SNS manicures. I have been very happy until this latest time I had a tech named "Kate" who was a bit rough and rude. She kept picking at my nails with her own fingernails until I insisted she stop. When finished she rudely said "5 minutes. If you mess it up it's 30 minutes- so 5 minutes". I was like wtf, I've had my nails done before and know it takes 5 minutes to dry the top coat. Never seeing her again- but everyone else has been excellent. read more

However the price wasn't discussed until after my manicure, and to my surprise and horror it was $105 plus tip. This is my second visit to Chic Nails. I made a reservation on my first visit and walked in on this current visit. It has close parking on this strip mall. I was able to park in front both times. I waited maybe a minute before being seated on both, with at least 3 clients already there. My first visit there, there was a huge language barrier. They get distracted with other clients and talk to other people while doing my nails. They switched people doing my nails and my chair. They are very pushy about what they want to do. I got SNS and they were crooked but strong they lasted a month. This visit I got acrylic bc I have a busy lifestyle and require just fill-ins and I cannot fill-in SNS, they told me. They acted put off bc they thought SNS are better, but it did not fit my lifestyle to spend the time taking off and reapplying SNS nails for $50 every time I wanted a full in. The acrylic took a little time to get used to bc they are so white but I will not be back here. The employees are rude and unprofessional. read more
