I've been a client of Susie's for a little over a year. The service here has always been phenomenal! Even after I transplanted to PA; I continue to travel to Baltimore for my nail experience. Susie does what works for ME; whether I want something tame (which is rare) or I want something off the wall - she delivers. Not only that, when I leave the salon I know I'm not going to have designs that look like everyone else's. To rebut the other reviews; I've not personally experienced nor witnessed rude behavior or negative energy from any of the technicians. However, I will say as customers we shouldn't expect a tech to drop everything she's doing to answer your questions with immediacy; specifically when the technician has a customer in her chair. My time is mine and yours is yours. Additionally, I've never waited beyond a few minutes pass my appointment time nor has my service taken hours on end. BUTTTTT when you get in the hands of a true artist, whether its nails or hair, why would you want it to be rushed?? (shrugs shoulders). So I'm new to Baltimore and I'm trying to find a new nail salon and Groupon brought me to this place. I was finished an earlier appointment and came early so I could find parking. I came in and no one was at the desk. The greeting was not friendly nor welcoming. I informed the women to my right that I had a 4 pm appointment. I was just asked who am I here to see. It's my first time and I don't know nor was I told to ask for someone when I set my appointment. There was exchange between her and another staff about who I was going to see. Then I was told they will be with me. I wasn't even offered a seat. I was then brought over so I could get my pedicure. Customer service is pivotal to the success of any business especially when I can spend the same money and have pleasant experience. Thankfully my manicurist was pleasant and salvaged my visit but the beginning was almost enough for me not to return. I just staff will always be mindful that word of mouth and that first impressions are long lasting and can undermine the success of any business. Finally was able to make an appointment & get service. This is my 3rd appointment & I haven't been disappointed with my nail service. My nail tech is Susie. Metered parking is available on Belair Road or free parking along the residential streets. Haven't had any problems with availability or with the quality of my nails. Bring cash to pay or pay a small fee to use bank card. ALWAYS use the phone number for contact and/or appointments. The atmosphere is friendly and respectful. read more

I will never go here again! I went on a Sunday because my normal nail salon happened to be closed due to my Linda being pregnant. I walk in, not knowing I need an appointment, and the workers ignorned me while a CUSTOMER turns around and says "She had an appointment"? So I ask "Do I need an appointment?" And one lady looks up at me and shes says "Its better to have one" and it just was very unfriendly. I didnt feel welcomed and I felt it was really unprofessional. Omg.!! I was so excited when my husband brought me this Groupon to try a different place out for my nails and pedicures and I was even more excited when it was black owned! Because that can be rare! I booked my appointment for the next day and she told me that they would text to confirm. The next day she text me to confirm but I did not see her text due to my work and bad signal in my building until an hour before my appointment! I immediately text Keira back yes! I will be there! I left work and by the time I was halfway I saw she text me and stated she gave my appointment away to a same day appointment request!!! And also that I must reschedule within 24 hrs!!!!!! I told her I work for a living and can not always be next to my phone and she responded with a laugh" well I work for a living too". No apology for not explaining their policy! No common courtesy! I am so disapointed that I have nothing good to say about this salon! I can't believe that Groupon will allow this business to offer services on their site! Groupon should be careful as businesses like this can tarnish their good name‍ !! Do not waste your time going to this salon I'm sure you will be disappointed! After reading more reviews it was a blessing in disguise that my appointment was given up because I probably would have wasted my money! Nails were beautiful Day of but the acrylic work was not good. It wasn't strong. My nails have been breaking. 4 days after having gotten a fill, and I have 3 broken nails AND a stone fell off. $75 for 3 broken nails and a missing stone. That's a bummer. I have been reaping the benefits of this Artist's magic , for years. I never leave the salon unhappy, My nails are always elegant, I get compliment's no matter where I go, both in and out of town Kiria is very professional, and takes great pride in her work and the products that she uses.. I so love this salon, I was at one time traveling 100 miles to get my nails done. She's the best. Oh and if you want to waist train she's the person to come to, for that service as well. Went here for my first visit based upon decent reviews on IG. Needless to say, I'm now getting a pedicure for the second time, at a different salon. My cuticles barely look touched. A total waste. I drove across town and spent over $75 only to have them redone a day later, the day before a major holiday so TWO days of my life are wasted. My appt was at 2:45 and I didn't leave until after 7:30. My nails are bulky at the root after I asked for them to be smoothed out. The nail tech/owner left in the middle of doing to nails to pick up her daughter and did the same with another client and we both had to have another nail tech text her to see how much longer she'd be (if that's any indication of how long she took) - TOTALLY unprofessional! I wanted to support because this is a black owned business but this is not how you do business! The lash station is by the bathroom so you're literally walking in on someone's appt to use it (I would be pissed if I had gotten lashes as that is supposed to be a relaxing, uninterrupted service). There was no toilet paper and when I asked for some I was given rough paper towel. I wanted a design that the nail tech stated she didn't want to do bc it took her four hours to do, but why even post and advertise it? The design I was given is ok but nothing to write home about and when I asked to spruce it up a bit I was told that "adding more wouldn't fit the story" or something bogus like that. As a technician your taste doesn't matter, you do what your client PAYS you to do. Despite all of this, I was still gracious and left a tip and I never leave reviews but I would hate for someone to go through what I went through. I even missed my friend's holiday party because I was there so long. I don't want to bash this young woman trying to do well for herself but this is totally ridiculous. I don't want to seem picky but I seem to have the worst luck with nail salons. They want your money but don't want to give up the honey! read more
