PEDICURE I walked into the nail salon in the morning maybe around 10am , it was very quiet and the employees was working on other customers , there was no wait time because it was only like 4 of us ) I got my feet massage and the massage chair was very friendly , Customers service was great . No complaints everything was clean, the nails Polish was applied correctly , I wish that they got the corners of the toe nails a bit more but it didn't really bother me that much since I could barely see it anyways. STOP! I came last Friday for a pedicure. Since it was only $20 I wasn't expected anything too spa like, however I didn't expect injury. After leaving and looking more closely my toes were not fully painted. After a few days the polish was already starting to chip off. Then 2 of my toenails started feeling sore, I thought maybe I stubbed my toes and just didn't realize it. WRONG! the guy on #5 charged me 60 dollars for a refill that I didn't even ask for and he suggested that I need to get it. Went in and asked for a mani/pedi. Pedicure was ok. Got to the table for a manicure. The tech filed my nails and pulled out tips. I told him I didn't want fake nails, just a manicure and polish. So the tech starts painting my nails. I'm thinking he's going out of sequence, and say "are you going to do the manicure?"....he says yes. But once the gel polish is dry, he's finished and hands me a bill for $38! Their own price sheet says mani/pedi $32. I didn't even get the manicure! Now suddenly nobody can speak English and figure out what my bill should actually be, since all I got was a pedicure and polish on my natural nails. Never ever going back. Would give a zero if i could. Rude! The girl cut my skin with the very first nail. I asked her to use something to clean it. She said it's fine. She did a terrible job. Then I was getting shellac. The color didn't match the sample. She tried to put a color on top and said it was the same and it was a completely different color. Terrible experience. This place is filthy!!! Nail first is a very basic nail salon, I try to stick with one person there Kevin, If he's not available I will wait, Jimmy he's decent but he's not always there other then those two you may be heated when they're done. The only female I let touch my face (brows) there is Vee Vee I made the mistake of taking my daughter who loves jazzy nails.... My first experience there was good...I went in for a gel full set with French tips. Their prices were reasonable, $30 total. When I went in 2 weeks later to have them filled (price list says $18), they did a horrible job...the old gel was still visible beneath the new, where they had cut them down. And the new gel French manicure they did on top was cracked before one day. And again I was charged $30 even though it was a "fill". Only way I would go back now is if they offered me a refund. read more

Went here to get a manicure and pedicure at the last minute. I have a few places I normally go, but my friend didn't want to drive to Grosse Pointe, so we ended up going here. Upon arrival, the salon was pretty hectic and busy. Lots of stations with techs working, and customers waiting. It was a bit confusing to figure out what was going on. The nail polish on the racks to look through were a hodge podge and most of them looked very old and in bad condition. After finally settling on some colors, they took me back pretty quickly, which was nice. The pedicure went ok, no issues that I could see, but it was a very hurried job compared to some other salons I go to. The manicure wasn't great. My cuticles were flooded with polish a few times, and they weren't filed evenly so some of them look kind of crooked. The price was $32 for a basic mani-pedi, which is the cheapest I've seen personally, but not that much cheaper than other places that do a better job for a few bucks more. There was one tech who was doing acrylics and looked like he knew what he was doing, but I probably won't be back here. read more

This place is absolutely horrible. First off I waited in a cold pedicure tub for 45 mins before any one attended to my feet. The pedicure was mediocre at best. The guy was rushing and short with me. Not nice at all. When it came time for my manicure idk why I expected anything different. He was rushing and cut me several times even dug into the tip of my nail with a file. He wasn't even going to put the clear top coat on. I had to ask and as for the hand massage it was non-existent! The water in the bowl was cold and not relaxing at all. On top of it all I now have to be treated for athletes foot that I can definitely say I got from this place. I've never had a problem with any type of fungus when getting my nails done. This place is disgusting and they have attitudes to match. It may be cheap but I would avoid this place and use your hard earned money towards a nicer, cleaner, more relaxing place. A friend and I needed a last minute manicure on a Friday night, and, unfortunately, they are the only place in the area that stays open past 7. The place was empty, and we were seen right away, which should of been our first sign. My friend got a pedi, and her tub was cold, the woman didn't even massage her feet, and her polish job looked like total crap, less than a week later, her toe nail polish was basically gone. Her nail polish was mediocre at best. I had a "gentleman" do my nails, and at first i thought he was shaping them nicely, and so it didn't bother me that he continuiously snorted the whole time he did my fill in. Then he started painting my nails, he missed one side of my nails, and i asked him to paint it and he said "this is only first coat." I thought oh, um okay shoudn't the whole nail be covered by in the first coat? He didn't clean up the skin he painted on my fingers, he painted all the way down over the cuticle, never once did he ask if I liked it, what length I wanted. Once he was done, I was very disappointed but figured there was no point in telling him I hated them, because he obviously didn't know what he was doing. When I went to the drying station I had a chance to fully look at the job he did, and i ended rubbing the nail polish off on the station, went across the street to CVS and bought my own products to paint my nails. A week later, when they started to grow out you could see how much acrylic was under my cuticle, they were bumpy and had ridges. I would never recommend this place to anyone, and am surprised they have even a one star rating. The next place we went to were so surprised how many nails the had to take off because they were lifted so bad less than 2 weeks later, needless to say, it was an embarrassment. read more
