I went In to get a nail fixed, they were hesitant to tell me how much until they popped my acrylic nail off with a plastic tip. I would have paid the $7 dollars for them to fix a single nail, if they soaked off my nail or filed it off the correct way. Now my nail is damaged. And the man Tony then said the obvious to me "this is what we do, if you go to the salon you normally go to they will fix it for free." This was the worst nail salon experience ever for me, buying the Groupon was a huge mistake. I went to my apt exactly on time at 1:30. I was told I can't have the pink color I chose. They instead gave me a book with not very pretty colors. They told me if I wanted the other pink color it would be an additional $5 and an additional $5 for the removal. The groupon says they charge extra for the removal, I was prepared for that, though it didn't make sense they wouldn't let me choose the color I liked without asking for more money. Nowhere on the Groupon does it say any colors are additional. So since there was an additional $5 anyway for a different color, I figured I'd just pay the extra for the French. So now between the Groupon and the additional money $10 they wanted, it was about what they normally charge, $25 for a shellac. I agree and move forward since I was already there. A guy who looked like a teenager pointed for me to sit down. He spoke NO English. He nicked my pinky hard with an instrument trying to remove my original shellac nail polish. I have done this before a couple times at other salons and was never nicked. He didn't apologize. He then began using another instrument to remove my previous shellac, that instrument was so dirty! I should have left at that point, but fighting with Groupon to get a refund was not an appealing idea. Their satisfaction guarantee has proved to not at all be what it claims. When he finally started on the nail polish, he could not understand when I asked him to please use a sheer polish with a pink tint versus the usual sheer used in French mani, their almost the same but many women opt for a slight color. He began showing me red and brown nail polishes. It made no sense. I had to beg the technician next to him, Tina, to explain what I was asking in Vietnamese. She never offered to help and heard my continuous struggles. When he put on the base coat and polish, he spilled base coat on top of the polish. Please see photos where my nails have shiny yellow stuff. He got polish outside my nails on my fingers and even my sweater somehow. The white part of the mani as you can see from pics is not even but jagged. Somehow I ended up with black fibers on some fingers, this can't be removed, it's under the polish. When I pointed it out, he tried to fix and aggressively tried to shove my fingers back in the UV machine that cures the shellac polish. He did this no less than 10X on each hand. That is a lot more radiation that normal, previous shellac manicures required 2 times curing. The constant mistakes, his inability to communicate, being rough with my hands, it was too much. I was inhaling the nail fumes, stronger than other salons for 2.5 hours! Normally it takes 45 min. I missed lunch with my friend because it was never suppose to take this long. Several customers came and went who were using the technician next to me and yet I was still there! I finally asked that someone else remove my shellac that he had done, I could not go out in public looking how he made me look. I asked for the teens name, the guy who removed it would not tell me. The guy who removed it was also young but not a teen. The tech next to us, Tina, would also not tell me anything other than to tell me to call the manager. I called the manager, I think Mindy was her name, I began explaining the situation, she hung up or we were disconnected, so that went nowhere. My already sensitive eyes still hurt from yesterdays experience. I hope they were using the right bulb in that overly bright UV ray machine, or else it can be even more dangerous. Never felt this effect at other salons, I've done this a total of 3 times before without any issues. This was a nightmare experience. I wish I had read all the negative reviews before buying. I take responsibility for that. But why does Groupon do business with any company that comes along, despite their poor reputation online? I guess because they will pay. They told a customer over the phone not to get the Groupon but pay them directly. So they want to get the advertising from Groupon, for free! I know that's against Groupon policies. I have attached as many pics of the nasty mani as I could because they didn't like me taking the pics and so some are blurry in my haste. I had the harsh acetone on my fingers not only for the original removal but the removal of what he did multiple times. My fingers hurt from so much acetone. My long pretty healthy nails that took time to grow I had to cut so super short after I left, they were so damaged it took many months to get back to normal, literally the whole nail had to be cut off over time from the damage. Don't come here for a luxury experience for sure. My Groupon pedicure gal was certainly sweet n did a good job - but i had to listen to the big tv playing a cop reality show. Not a relaxing experience! And broken lights, not well cared for surroundings all speak that the owners dont really care that much. I had a GroupOn for a mani-pedi, so I called a few days in advance and made an appointment. Even though I was on time, I had to wait quite a while. The polish selection was large but strange. They didn't have many popular colors (almost no neutrals), and most of the bottles were obviously really old and in no conceivable order. Also, they made me buy a nail file, buffer, and toe separators. It was only a dollar, but I've never been anywhere that charged extra for stuff like that. The lady who did my mani/pedi was pretty nice, I guess, but she kept trying to sell me other services. Then, she actually left during my pedicure to wax another woman's eyebrows. All of that might be forgivable if my nails looked good, but they don't. The polish on one of my thumbs is very uneven, and you can even see through it in a couple places. Chipping started after not even one day. I would not go back there, even with a group on. read more

I went to Nail Garden with a groupon I got as a gift. I had read reviews from other sites that suggested this place was not clean and tubs for pedicures did not get cleaned. I went there thinking if what I saw wasn't good then I would just leave. It was a cute looking place-not dirty so I decided to go ahead with it. The lady who did my deluxe pedicure was nice. It took a little bit for someone to come wait on me but once they did, they never left. It was a nice experience to say the least. I had to buy a set for $1 but I've also had to do this at other places. The only thing is my set only came with a file and buffer - no toe separators. That seemed incomplete. After painting my nails, the tubs were cleaned. All in all it was a nice pamper session at a decent place. read more

New to the lake Oswego area and I have tried many nail salons trying to find a decent nail artist. I FINALLY found one! The gal that did my nails is named Tina and she is amazing at her job! She took her time and really took pride in her work. The last place I went had me in and out in thirty minutes for a fill and had didn't care about my opinion when I said they were not even and argued with me that they were fine. Tina took her time and made sure everything was perfect and that I was happy with the finished product. She now has a loyal customer for life! Got my hair done here, at first reluctantly but my stylist did a great job on my trim! Then I got shellac done an they did great on that too! Reasonable prices, I got my trim done for $20 and my shellac manicure done for $25. I'm giving them five stars since they were able to fit me in even though it was busy. However it was a bit odd that when they were busy, they had a habit of changing the person taking care of you. I personally only had one switch, but the lady next to me had two due to different specialities. Overall it was a good experience and I can see myself going there again. read more

My friend and I had scheduled appointments for SNS manicures and basic pedicure. We were very disappointed. They did not call us ahead to tell us their only nail tech that offers that sort of manicure was out sick. They kept pressuring us to do shellac instead which neither of us wanted. We were in a time crunch so we decided to stay and do a basic manicure and pedicure. It was the worst manicure and pedicure either of us had ever had. The cuticles were not trimmed very well, our hands and feet felt extremely fry when we left, and within the same day our nail color started to chip and peel. My tech asked to trim my toe nails, and I said that was fine. She trimmed them all the way off! I was so sad that I couldn't do the French polish on my toes that I asked her to leave it and I painted them myself when I got home. We will not be returning. read more

Came here for my sisters birthday to get her acrylics for the first time. I usually go to a different place but tried this one (MUCH better prices and they offer a student discount) and I love them! At my other place, they were not nice, they were not gentle at all, were rude about tipping, and just in general were not courteous. The Nail Garden is the exact opposite! They are so sweet, talkative, and they always check in to see if they are doing your nails how you want. I used to feel like I was bossing them around at my old place. Deeply disappointed in the service here. I have been coming for a couple years and have never been offered a water or a beverage (which is now pretty standard at nail salons). On my last experience here I called and booked an appointment for shellac. When I came in (10 minutes before my appointment) I was told that they got busy and hadn't saved my spot. I was told that I could come back in an hour, but when I did I was told they no longer had time. Very frustrating. I agreed to come again with my boyfriend for Valentine's Day and made an appointment for both of us the night before. When I got there I was disappointed to find that they were not ready for us having me wait a half an hour while one lady did his, and him waiting another half an hour while she did mine. Meanwhile the 2nd lady working there took a walk in. Ended up missing our dinner reservation as it took twice the time we were told it would take. Pretty average place. I got a basic mani/pedi. I was a little irritated that the technician spoke very little English & her associates did not feel compelled to assist with interpretation. I have selected two colors & need to point to my hands & my feet with the color selection because she couldn't understand me. She was very nice though. I am a long time customer of nail Garden in LO, the interior is so so BUT the service is great. The techs are extremely friendly, and there is a lot of color selection for both shellac and regular polish. Another thing is that they clean the nail very well which to me is equally as important. I have almost always been able to get taken care of when just walking in. They are usually busier during the week than the weekends and also keep in mind they don't take credit cards but they do take debit cards. read more

We came in yesterday (June 5th, 2021). I'm on vacation and came in with my husband and family for a nail day, we all got pedis and I got a fill on my acrylic set. The lady did amazing with my acrylics but my pedi wasn't very enjoyable. She used the nail tool to literally DIG my big toe nails out on the sides which was painful but I figured well, she knows what she's doing..then she got the hot stones, didn't bother cooling them a bit after pulling them from the warmer and burnt my foot with the stones. My biggest issue is today, my big toes are swollen and there's puss coming from one of them from how deep and persistent she she was to "shape" my nails. Im in an extreme amount of pain and doing everything I can to avoid an infection beings I'm pregnant. Ive NEVER had this happen after a pedicure and am very upset we paid so much for me to regret even getting it done. It's hard to walk around and actually enjoy my vacation being in so much pain. read more

The people are great, but they will agree to any reservation...we made reservations for three people and called about two hours ahead to change it to four. They said "no problem," but when we arrived they only had two technicians available! We had to stagger our pedicures and it ended up taking us twice as long. I found these guys on a Groupon for a full set of solar nails (which were actually already reasonably priced at $35 full price). I reviewed their three locations on Yelp to see which one was the best option. This location was the best-rated and Steven was recommended by name as knowing how to handle nails properly which is super important to me and so hard to find. The previous reviewer didn't overstate. I was able to get an appointment when I wanted and Steven seated me right away. He had even called me back based on my caller ID to make sure I went to the right location. Anyway, I told him my specifics which aren't outlandish, but they are very specific, and he did a perfect job. The place was clean and bright. Buffers and files are required but they will sell you a pair for a buck. I'm definitely going back. read more

I walked in to a practically empty salon and asked for a mani-pedi. One of the nail techs hesitated and reluctantly said they could take me. I chose my colors (without any direction from the staff) and was approached by a gentleman who had been working at the desk (I'm not even sure he was a nail tech). He first told me that it would be $1 for a nail file and buffer (a first for me) and then had no rationale for the unusual charge. I was feeling uncomfortable so I asked how much a mani-pedi cost and after adding it up in his head, he said $40! And, although they have Visa/MasterCard signs everywhere, they will not take credit. I was surprised by the price and disappointed already with the service so I said 'no thanks' and turned around and walked out. I had an appointment early Sunday morning for highlights. The vietnamese guy was nice & happy talking to me. Then the lady asked me if I want two or one color. I said two but she insisted on doing one. I still picked up two colors cause I want full highlights. She asked me if I wanted big or small highlight. I medium & she insisted on medium. The I showed my groupon for full highlights & everybody become rude! The Vietnamese guy was scolding me for having groupon & the lady insisted that they're not selling groupon anymore even if mine still have 2 more weeks before expiration. Then they charged me additional $35 for having a long hair. I told them that it did not say that there's an extra charged for long hair but she insisted on that. So my voucher is good for full highlights but they only did partial & charged me extra $35! I also tried their shellac. And they did not clean your hands first before putting the shellac! I bought a Groupon for a shampoo, cut, blowout and my choice of a full color, full highlights or partial highlights. I should have known that all of that for $40 was "too good to be true." I made my appt 2.5 weeks in advance. When I showed up for my appt, after driving a 1/2 hour to get there, I was greeted by a woman giving a customer a pedicure. After she asked me why I was there, 2 or 3 of her coworkers shouted from the back, "Do you want a mani/pedi?!" They shouted that out 2 or 3 times. It was annoying and unprofessional. I repeated myself maybe 5 times that I was there for hair. I pulled out my Groupon and the pedicure lady told me to sign in. After waiting a few more minutes, she took a break from her pedicure long enough to tell me that the appt setter had double booked her and that she could not see me then. As an alternative, she said I could come back in 3 hours. I, like many others, am very busy. It takes 3 hours to accomplish a cut, color and blow out, so NO - I could not come back in 3 hours. She was not apologetic and when I asked her for a better number to call to reschedule so that double booking doesn't happen again, she refused. In the end, I called Groupon and got my money back. We came in with Groupons and they turned two of my friends away (there was 4 of us) because he said he "would lose paying costumers." We ARE paying customers. He told us to return our Groupons and continued to be rude to us. Two of us did get our nails done and the whole time there were at least 3 employees doing nothing. Couldn't they have worked on my friends? The owner who was really rude took over my nails and tried to be friendly, but it made me feel uncomfortable. I have been going to Steven at Nail Garden for over 3 years now. He does a phenomenal job on acrylic nails. He keeps up his education and uses the latest professional products on my nails. My nails do not chip, break or peel. His nails look natural - they are not thick and blocky and he does a great job with white tips. I've been to many different nail salons in a few different states and he is by far the best that I have been to! And, he's a lot of fun to chat with too! Today I experienced the absolute worst service of my life!!! I went to Nail Garden to use a $20 Groupon I purchased for a spa pedicure. I showed up for my scheduled appointment & gave them my Groupon. They said I did not have an appointment even though I called 15 days prior to make it. The man said there was no Groupon # or appointment in the book & he always puts in the #. I told him that there was some obvious miscommunication on their part. Or maybe someone didn't write it down b/c no one is perfect & he said, "no, I always write it down." I explained that I did give the # when I made my appointment b/c I asked the man on the phone which # it was, the one under the barcode or in the top right hand corner. His response was, "sorry you didn't make an appointment" and sat there and stared at me with a smirk on his face. I thought he was kind of joking so I said, "seriously, I can't use this" & he said, "NO." There were 6 employees sitting there eating soup & one in the chairs playing on her phone with not one customer in there & refused to do it because I "didn't make an appointment" even though I did! And even if I didn't, who cares, there had no customers & I already pre-paid for this service! Plus, I told him I was going to pay for additional waxing services. More money for them!!! After going in circles with the man for 10 minutes & telling him this was terrible customer service, then the truth came out. He starting yelling at me saying, "you are like 90% of the customers, you come in 3 days before your coupon expires & say you made an appointment when you didn't! You are LYING!!! If you would've came in & told the truth then I probably would have done it. I don't like dishonest people!" After that I was mad! Never did I cuss at him, but I did raise my voice. I swore on my life that I was not lying & that I was the actual 10% that did make an appointment. Then I remember I could show him my outgoing calls on my phone with their phone # & I did. I showed him their number, the day I called (15 days prior) & what time I called. After he saw it he said, "oh, your call says it was only one minute. You didn't call, you can't make an appointment & give us your Groupon number in one minute, your lying!" Finally, I said, "fine, then I'll make an appointment in the next two days before the Groupon expires." He opened the appointment book for the next two days & it was blank & he said, "sorry, I don't have any openings until May 13th." I told him that he was obviously lying to my face & who's the liar now. I told him I will never set foot in this salon again & I will spread the word of the terrible customer service. He did say he would do the service if I paid for it. I told him, "no, why would I pay for something again when I already purchased it?" Toward the end of the 20 minute conversation he walked away from me, shooed me away with his hand & told me to leave because he wasn't going to do it. The 6 or 7 employees sitting at the table eating never said anything, but they made it worse by laughing. Right as I left one person was laughing so hard she had to run to the sink to spit out her soup. Worst part was, when I asked to speak with the owner he said he was the owner. Scary. This was not only downright terrible customer service but it made me feel degraded, angry & scammed. I feel that since they knew they already had my money & I had told him I couldn't come in the other days before it expired & that is why I made it for this certain day, that he deliberately was refusing me service to keep my money. They are not providing a service that was advertised & being completely unfair & irrational. I have NEVER been treated so poorly like this by anyone. read more

So normally I come here too get solar French tip nails done. And usually they do a good job and I'm happy with the way they look and how they treat me. However today I want in and was told too wait for about 20 minutes. The woman said she had called her husband and he was on his way to do my nail. First of all.. What? So I assumed he was licensed and going to do a good job. He got there an hour after I had been there an had no idea where anything was. I wanted sparkly white tips and he couldn't find it so I just got regular white instead. Bummer. And then we goes on putting the tips, white gel, and pink part. Towards the end he files one hand so it's way shorter than the other. And none of the nails are even kind of even. I ask him to fix one because it looked absolutely terrible. Of course he gets an attitude because he has to go back and fix it. Once they are done I realize the white line between tip and the rest is not straight, it's smudged and looks like it bleed in to the pink. When I tried to show this too him he simple says "this is not my job and I only come here to help out. I don't really know how to do these well." wow. I paid and left and will not be coming back. I had a groupon for a full set of solar nails. When we were taken back to start, they wouldn't let my friend and I sit next to each other which we understood because they only work at their own stations, but then a lady came in while we were getting ours done, and her tech let her change spots because of the awful smell. The nail tech did not tell me what he was doing, and I was terrified when he cut my somewhat long nails completely off and started grinding at the surface of my nails with a very course drill bit. Then he proceeded to glue acrylic tips on to replace my nails, and then thickly covered my nails with acrylic gel, and filed etc which was rough and unpleasant. I was disappointed that he didn't do anything for my cuticles which needed care and shaping. At the end he just coated my nails with regular nail polish and had me hold my hands in front of a tiny fan for 10 minutes. There was nothing "solar" about it, and neither I or my friend felt pampered which was the main point of this. The entire time, the staff were chatting loudly in Vietnamese (I think) and laughing and screaming, very unprofessionally. Also in the middle, my tech answered his cell phone and was talking while filing my nails. They also made us pay additional for our nail files which looked very cheap and not worth $1. Overall everyone seemed very unprofessional, and I can't express my disappointment enough. Of course I didn't say anything negative to them though, because I was so stunned and out of my element, and I'm generally too nice. But I will definitely not go back. read more
