The first time I got shellac and it started to chip off after a week. This last time I got nexgen and normally it lasts well over two weeks. Ive kept them on for a month before. I've been here twice and can see this as a place I may continue to frequent. Both times the tech that worked with me was nice and did my nails just as I like it (Michelle and Jim (I think that was his name)). The place is clean and over all staff is friendly. I did have one experience my first time there that put me and my friend off. She had asked to see the nex gen colors but someone had it so we waited. After she got them someone came over asking if he could take them. My friendly nicely let him know that she'd literally just gotten them (it had been maybe 20 seconds since she got them). He then said that he'd just wait for her to finish and stood there hovering over her for a minute or two. It was extremely rude because it was like was standing there to rush her so he could take it. He could have easily just came back a few minutes later (which he eventually did). For someone who gets her nails done every 2-3 weeks I want to find a place where I can become a regular and that includes not only how the techs do their work but the attitude/approach of all I come in contact with. read more

I ended up going back to Nail Lounge and wanted to go several times before I updated my review. I have not experienced the behavior that initially made me leave and I'm really happy about that. I ended up switching from gel to nexgen and I love it! Up until my last visit my nails have been perfect. During the visit last week the guy I had made my nails a little too chunky looking. He dipped them 4 times and then added two very thick coats of clear polish. While I understand the color I chose was light, please ask before dipping so many times to make it darker. I choose this color because a sheer natural look was what I wanted. Even though I wasn't very pleased, my nails weren't terrible so I decided to keep them until my next visit. However, I would not let that same guy do my nails. I also feel like he rushed through them. There was a lady sitting next to me who also got nexgen. She started on bare nails while my previous color had to be removed. I finished before her. One other thing that I agree with after reading other reviews is that you don't really get time to pick a color. They hand you the bucket, seat you and then immediately start without really giving you a chance to look at the colors. There are A LOT of them. So, I would just ask that they give a little more time to choose. While my last experience wasn't that great and the time given to choose a color can be a little irritating, I still think this place deserves 5 stars. I'm sure the other kinks can be worked out. I found this place when I first moved to Allen. I continued to go for a year. It is very nice on the inside and the nail techs do a great job. Why the 3 star review? I think once you have been going to a place every 2 weeks for a year, there should be some type of comfort and familiarity. Not here. I would barely get a smile when I walked in or even while services were being provided. I am not one of those picky types of people. I am actually very simple and just go to relax so I never caused any issues. I was usually made to pay before my nails were even painted and I've never experienced that anywhere else. I also noticed that every customer was not made to do this and would pay after their nails had dried before heading out. Needless to say, I don't go to this shop anymore because of this. Well some of their staff are less than professional at times and want to charge you extra for nonsense or act surly and mean but they have such a large number of people on staff, the chances of having to deal with them twice is slim. I really debated on whether or not to write this review because I really don't like giving low reviews. But I hate my nails. I gave it a few days hoping they would grow on me but no I still do not like them. My husband and I went in on Saturday morning for a mani/pedi. I got the Nexgen nails I asked for short coffin shaped nails and that's not what I got. Not to mention they look very sloppy- he didn't smooth the nail bed out so they look bumpy the clear nail polish is streaking which caused additional unevenness on the nail. The nail tech's name was Mario and he was joking with the nail tech that was doing my husband's manicure and said he hadn't had breakfast yet, so maybe that's why it was so sloppy. And while I'm talking about my husbands manicure the woman that was doing his nails did a good job on his manicure but was soooo unprofessional. She kept cracking jokes and every other word out of her mouth was a curse word. I will say the woman that did my toes I believe here name was Angela- she did an awesome job but unfortunately everything else over shadowed that. It was really busy when we came in so the receptionist said it would be about 15-20 minutes and had us put our names down. We got a little hungry so we left to grab some food and then came back. It took a little longer than we thought and it was almost 30 mins before closing time so they put their closed sign up. At first I was disappointed because I thought they were going to turn us away but the receptionist waved us in so we were able to get our services! I can't remember the names of the ladies who did my nails but both did an excellent job. They were very attentive and gentle. The services were reasonably priced as well, a basic manicure, pedicure plus callous treatment only costed me around $41 and only $20 more if I wanted gel. I walked in for a new Nexgen (dip powder) set and was greeted immediately at the front desk and was seen in 2 minutes. After having a crappy week Wayne (my technician) told me to not worry, he will get me a glass of wine and I'll walkout with fabulous nails and that he'd take care of me! I told him I also felt like I had some hang nails or needed cuticles trimmed and he fixed it with clippers! I wanted natural, short and fresh pale white! He suggested "Funny Bunny" color by OPI. I was in and out in 45 minutes with 2 glasses of white wine and was really pleased! Wayne is SO nice & FUNNY! I recommend him!!!!!
