This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had. To be fair, Ann, who did my nails, actually did a good job. The issue was not the quality of her work, but that the final color turned out significantly darker than the sample I selected. I simply asked to confirm whether the correct color was used. Instead of a professional response, the front desk staff (Jesi) responded with an extremely rude, dismissive, and impatient attitude, saying they can't guarantee a 100% match. If that's the case, it should have been clearly communicated before the service--not after, and certainly not in such an unprofessional manner. I was only asking a basic question, not making a complaint. The way Jesi handled this was unacceptable and made it clear that customer concerns are not respected here. I walked in first thing she asks is "do you see what time it is" As If I was an hour late. I understand that the shortcoming is on my end however, there are nicer ways to say that. I've been coming to Deluxe since 2009 and have watched the salon change ownership over the years. Unfortunately, I've also watched the overall experience decline. I don't usually write reviews, but I feel this one is important. My issue is not with the employees--they have always been kind, welcoming, and hardworking. My concerns are with the management. As a loyal customer for over 15 years, I expected to feel valued. Instead, I've consistently felt like paying customers are treated as inconveniences. I've also witnessed management speak to employees in disrespectful and demeaning ways, including scolding staff in front of customers. It creates an uncomfortable and unprofessional environment. What's most telling is that in the last month alone, nearly three-quarters of the staff--including many long-time employees who helped build Deluxe's reputation--have left. That kind of turnover speaks for itself. Because of that, I don't believe new clients should expect the same experience reflected in many of the older five-star reviews, which were earned by a very different team. Deluxe was once the salon I recommended to everyone. Sadly, after more than 15 years, my journey here has come to an end. The way both employees and loyal, paying customers are treated is unacceptable. I really tried to like this place, especially because it's the closest nail salon to me, but after going here for almost two years, I can't justify it anymore. They overcharge for everything--shape, length (even when nails are short), tips--every little detail adds up, and they don't even provide a receipt. For the price, the quality and service should be much better. The quality of the nails is consistently poor. My nails are often uneven, crooked, and all look completely different. When I point it out and ask for fixes, they act like it's my fault and get visibly upset. I've even had to ask for something as basic as an extra top coat because the first one looked almost matte. The service is careless and rushed. They frequently switch nail techs mid-appointment, which happened to me recently--one person started my nails and did half, then another took over and clearly did not want to be there. I originally asked for chrome over white, but by the time we got to that step, I was so uncomfortable with the experience that when she asked if I still wanted it, I said no just so I could leave. One of the worst experiences I've had here was when a male tech stopped doing my nails halfway through because he was upset I came in about an hour and a half before closing. He complained to me the entire time. I was very apologetic because I understand that can be frustrating, but I work full-time and that was the only time I had. For how expensive their services are, I expected to feel like a valued customer--not an inconvenience. While I have built good relationships with a few people here (and there are about three I've liked, including one who has never actually done my nails), that doesn't make up for the overall experience. The manicure staff is noticeably less friendly, while the people who do pedicures are nicer. My toes are usually fine, but even then, they rush through services and spend part of the "massage time" cleaning instead of actually providing the service. I recently paid $70 for a "Long" set of dipped nails that were just basic white with zero design or detail. These nails are only about half a centimeter to a centimeter past my natural nail, so calling them "long" feels misleading. I will be attaching photos of this set in the review. What makes this most frustrating is the complete lack of accountability or care. I wouldn't be this upset if anyone had shown concern about how unhappy I was, but there was zero effort to fix the situation or make it right. At this point, it feels like a waste of money. Honestly, I could have done a better job myself. I truly wanted to love this place, but after multiple bad experiences, I can't recommend it, and honestly, I'd avoid it at all costs. read more

I scheduled appointments for two pedicures for my friend and me at 1:00. we were left with our feet in lukewarm to cool water for 40 minutes before our appointment officially got started at 1:45. there were two technicians. I booked my appointment online and when they called to confirm. My nail tech that I've been seeing for 15 years no longer works there. So I asked if they had someone available who could put a flower design on my toes and he said, "Yes, of course." The tech I had for my pedicure was someone I had never seen before. She did a fine job. Wasn't very chatty, but that's ok. The tech that did my mani was great, someone who knew me, and did a great job. When I asked for the flower on my pedi- she said, "No.". So I asked if someone else could come do a flower for me and I was told that I have to have gel to get a flower. I've been going for 15 years. I never get gel and I always get a flower. They would not budge. They told me there are too many mistakes and they can't do it without gel any more. All I can say is that their mistakes are not my problem. When I arrived, a guy named Steven was working the front desk and greeted me. He was really helpful with the polish colors and got me sat quick. Mary and Vivian are who did my nails. They were incredibly sweet. They took their time and didn't make me feel rushed. I really appreciated that Mary used a timer during the massage. So many times the menu says you get a 20 minute massage and it only ends up being like 10. The place itself is beautiful. They have free beverages and 6 TVs on the walls. Wanted to get my nails done for a wedding and was given a gift card from a coworker to come here, so it was basically decided for me that I'd come here. I rarely go to the nail salon. This is probably the third time in my entire life that I've gotten my nails done professionally. Appointment set up was easy and the website was informational. I wasn't sure exactly what to get, but the lady on the phone was helpful in recommending nexgen. Upon arrival, my temperature was taken and I was asked to wash my hands. I chose my desired color from a large selection and explained what I was wanting my nails to look like. The person doing my nails for me was friendly enough. He was an older man that didn't really want to chitchat or make small talk. He just wanted to get the job done. His drill tool (not sure what it's called) hit my skin a few times and it didn't feel great. I flinched a few times when he did that and he told me that it wasn't a big deal and that it doesn't hurt.. lol luckily I'm an Asian girl that understands how old Asian men act or else I'd probably be offended. I felt weird when it was over because the edges were raised and the design which cost me $12 per nail wasn't even close to as good as the girl sitting next to me and it was the same design. this is where I really got frustrated one nail snapped in half while I was cooking and they fixed it for free but then the week after 2 more shattered And I wasn't in town and it was past the 1 week window. my normal nail place in a different city typically last about 6-7 weeks and these are almost all chipped or shattered within 2/3 weeks especially For the almost $85 I paid for them. Lynn is still my favorite after so many years. She does a great job on my eyebrows & lip. She never EVER made my eyebrows thin, always listened & made it nice & natural looking. Second they kept trying to add charge after charge. Never in my life has a nail salon tried charging me for shape. I usually get longer nails and anywhere you go will charge $5 for long nails. I'm tight on money rn and said I would do short so I wouldn't have to pay extra but still charged me $5 extra. Also on their menu it says one price but they charge you more. I have been going here for 10 years under the original ownership, during which time I had nothing but the best experience. In the last 6 months they changed ownership. I have now been canceled on 3 times for a variety of reasons, including the most recent, which was a "last minute" double-booking of my preferred technician. I make my appts. one month in advance. Today they called me 30 minutes before my appt to let me know they had double booked me and asked if they could move my appt. I said no and when I showed up they had already taken the lady that they double booked me with. They told me that she arrived 45 minutes prior to my scheduled appointment, so I waited patiently. One hour later my schedule technician apologetically tells me that she is not going to be able to assist me, as her current customer is now pushing her up against her next appointment. I book every appointment at the end of my current appointment to ensure there are no complications / conflicts. This review is in no way reflective of my technician, as she's a fantastic, meticulous manicurist. However, new ownership and, more specifically new management, has officially lost a loyal customer of over a decade. read more
