Totally disappointed. I went for a manicure and pedicure. I got a no chip polish on my natural nails. The nail tech put oil on my nails and they appeared nice and shiny. When I went home and washed my hands my nails had a tacky/sticky feel to them. This was the first time I tried getting my nails done with the new management team. read more

This was my go to nail salon because there are 3 techs who does well Justin, Andrew and Jenni. Whenever I'd go here they were always professional and friendly. However my last 2 experiences were not so great but since this was the first time in like 1 year, I had a bad experience, I decided to give them another try. I had been wearing a set that Andrew did for awhile and it was great, never any lifting, breaking, and lasted very long. This set was so good I almost didn't want to take them off but I knew it was time for a fresh set. Justin did the fresh set on February 1st and the acrylic was laid so thin you could literally see dents right across the center of my nails where the nail tip was glued on. I tried to ignore but I couldn't so I went back the next day for him to lay another layer of acrylic to fill in the dents. One thing I noticed for the first time with this fresh set, is that primer was not laid across my entire natural nail, he only went right around my cuticle. About 6-7 days later, 3 nails popped right off like press ons. I knew it was because he didn't use primer underneath the acrylic, which we know primer is needed to ensure the acrylic securely sticks to the natural nail bed. When I went back and told him what happened he argued and told me the primer was not the reason this happened. I said this is the first time my nails have ever popped off clean and this is the first time my entire natural nail was not covered with primer for a fresh new set. These came off so clean I was able to glue them back on like press ons. For that to have been a fresh set of nails that should have never happened 7 days later especially when I know I had just removed a set I had been wearing for awhile which Drew was doing and that set never lifted nor popped off and drew would also cover my entire area of growth with primer before he did the fill in. I also do nails myself so I know the importance of all the products used to do a set. Needless to say I won't be going back because they will always try to make you think you don't know what you're talking about. If you tell them you see lumps in your nails, a crooked nail, a dent, etc they try to make you think its ok and your eyes playing tricks. read more

The nail tech gave my shoes to another customer. They did nothing except say they don't know who it was but if she comes back they will call me. Still had me pay full price for pedicure. Oh yes and the tech kept saying it was not their fault. I didn't ever say it was but please why not do something. Tech also said shoes looked alike. One was the the other customers dirty shoes and mine were clean and new. read more

I'm still on the hunt for a good nail salon since blowing out of DC... My massage therapist said a few of her clients are regulars at this place, so I decided to give it a try. I arrived at 9:30 AM--the time they're supposed to open--only to tug on a locked door. I returned to the car and sat. Ten minutes later, a man propped the door open. I'm not sure if he noticed me waiting in the car, but he didn't flag me in. I just approached the door. He'd already disappeared into the back, and emerged five minutes later. I was handed over to a woman by the name of Tim (not positive of the spelling). She's an older lady, whose English is limited to "here," "down," and "pay now." One of the random men in the salon informed me of her name, after her response to that question was an uncomfortable chuckle. We had many chuckles throughout our hour and half mani-pedi session. It was like I was talking to myself, and she was a delighted observer. Tim was neat. She did a fairly good job removing excess paint from my fingers and toes. There were some practices that were questionable to me as far as cleanliness, like running that nasty public drill around my cuticles, and using the public cheese grater like thing to remove dead skin from my feet. Neither of those items was sterilized. That concerned me. While I would've enjoyed some good conversation during my session, and the reassurance that I wasn't exposed to some bacteria, it wasn't the worst nail session to date. Much to her surprise and gratitude, I tipped Tim and the end of the service, and she helped me over to the drying station. I was in and out in under two hours. read more

I went to get a fill in and color change. I got there at 12:10 in the afternoon. My nail stylist started to soak my nails. (Now I only came in for a fill in) I asked why we needed to soak them and he said to remove the polish and gel... I have had my nails done multiple times and NEVER has anyone soaked them to begin a fill in. Well once he was done with that he proceeded to do my nails. I picked a neon pink color to begin with and he pulled a red color. By this time I had already been in the chair for an hour and decided not to say anything and stick with the red. It's now almost 1:25 and am finally done. I got out to the car and noticed my nails were bumpy and awful looking! I went back in to complain and the guy refiled my nails and repainted them the neon pink I wanted in the first place. There were still spots of red on my nails. I told him and he said, any gel polish will cover it. He proceeded to paint my nails and the end result was somewhat better, but still looked awful! You can see the red spots and my nails are still bumpy. NEVER EVER would I recommend someone to go there. I don't even want to give this salon 1 star.. read more

Please stay away from this place. I went in for a no-chip manicure, the technician was rude and in a rush. It seemed to me like she was still in training. After two coats of nail polish I pointed out that my nails had air pockets and bumps in them she told me that it was just my nails -_- her coworker helped her fix them but she didn't like that. They went back and fort, it made me very uncomfortable. She kept tossing my hands back and forth, VERY RUDE. Not a clean place either. I'm not giving this place a second chance it's that bad. read more

I went to Nail Luv in Merrillville, Indiana today, and I will NEVER go back. It was the most horrifying experience. The owner's wife was working on my feet, and quite frankly she scared me. She was in a heated argument with her brother in law (another technician), while working on my feet, not paying any attention to what she was doing. She would not stop arguing, and became louder and angrier. It was escalating to the point of calling the police. When I said I came there to relax, and that I wanted another technician, she started yelling at me! They finally gave me another technician. She should have been fired on the spot for her unprofessional behavior. After all that, the owner still charged full price. read more

The staff was very friendly and the price was very good. However when i first came in i asked for gel set and the guy started to do a nochip manicure....when i told him thats not what i wanted he was very nice about it and started over however my nails look horrible...the color isn't on all the way because they were almost out of it and it doesnt look smooth looking its looks like a blob of paint was put on.... half way through him doing my nails another employee had showed up late for his shift and the manager started yelling at him about it in front of all the customers in the salon... very unprofessional. read more

I go to lee as my nail tech. I'm always happy with his work. When they are busy you will get a rush job so go on weekday.

They were the only nail salon I could find open on the 4th of July. I wasn't to worried about the wait cause it was on a walk in basis but once they started to fill up the nail tech rushed through my pedicure. I had to ask him to file my toe nails because they weren't straight after he cut them down. They re-use their spa flops so I declined and asked him to put my sandals back on. Then say me at the dry station and stood over me and say pay me now. They're service and techs just aren't good...I definitely should've listened to the reviews before mine. read more

I always try to go somewhere at least twice before I leave a review. This is one of those times. I have been here three times. The first time, all went well. Walked in, and shortly after a very nice man did my nails. No problems at all. The next time I was not so fortunate as the man who did my nails, (who I later found out is the owner) decided to remove my no-chip polish by soaking my hands in ziplock bags full of acetone. As you can imagine this irritated my hands, gave me a rash, and destroyed my long NATURAL nails. After this visit, they began to curl in-wards, and break up by the quick- even with a no chip. This last visit I was in a hurry, they are right down the street and I figured I could just request someone else. Well, while getting my nails done, I discussed what happened on the last visit with my nail tech. I guess the owner heard me but instead of coming over to apologize he decided to start getting loud, in my face, shouting at me that I was wrong. It was humiliating, disturbing, and had I not had my hands soaking I would have walked out. I will NEVER go here again. Unprofessional and unsanitary. This place and the owner are CRAZY. By the way, I had them repair one of my broken nails... literally three days later here I am with it broken once again. Shoddy work and service, you've been warned! read more

Absolutely horrible! When getting a nail set for gel no chip, they fall off within days without doing much. And as for the pedicure, the guy scraped my foot so deep that he split it open so now I'm in a bunch of pain. You don't want to be in this pain. Do not go here!! read more

This place isn't bad. A man did my nails which I wasn't sure about when he started, but all I needed was a fill in and some nail color. He seemed to have much experience, but I didn't particularly like the way he shaped them. They weren't all even and it felt like he spent way to much time on the left side of my nails (his right side). At first I wasn't super enthusiastic about my nails, but then they grew on me. Probably because I liked the color. I also had a pedicure. The massage chair was nice, and the foot massage was nice. The salon was neat and clean. All in all it wasn't a bad experience. My nails look ok, but I would shop around if you're looking for something incredible. Next time I will probably try a differen't place. read more
