Came here because of the 5 star reviews . We have been going to Nail places in San Jose for about a year, So we have experience with different shops - This one was way below the 5 star mark . The manager (I think) Was very good at what she does, Everyone else not so much . We got 3 Pedicures &1 Manicure , They dont seem to disinfect the Tubs after every use - Only with a damp sponge - They drop tools on the floor (With toenail clippings on the floor) And proceed to pick up and use them . How did my girlfriends gel toenail get chipped before leaving the salon ? They left paint all over my Moms Fingernail when she asked for a french tip in pink- They did not know what pink was because they made it clear - But the manager did come up to fix . I'm happy with my gel manicure. The technician was thorough and paid good attention to detail. They also have 3 chairs for pedicure, which I will try out next weekend. They do take credit cards, but appreciate gratuity in cash. Since the salon is right on E. Blithedale, parking is metered street parking, no parking lot. read more

There are good things about this salon, and nails look good so far after mani/pedi minus one that was snagged because the edge was rough and I had to file and redo clear coat same day. I had decided to return after a bad experience over a year ago to give them another chance. But this time she nipped both a finger and a toe and now I have a sore on each. They should be careful to be more gentle with the clippers. I did mention something when I noticed her wiping away blood on my toe, and she didn't say sorry or anything at all, just silence. There are better ways to handle this if they accidentally injure someone. I'll look for a new salon. read more

I have been coming to Nail Motif since they opened and always go back. They are my go to for my acrylic nails! All the ladies there are always so sweet and welcoming. Le and Lynn do my nails and they do an amazing job every time. I am pretty particular with how I like my nails and I always leave happy with my nails and feeling like new! They pay great attention to the detail and create a natural looking acrylic that is not too thick or chunky. It is perfect. If you are looking for somewhere to get yours done, these ladies know what they're doing ! They are also very clean and follow Covid guidelines which is appreciated :) read more

I called late in the day and they were able to take me the next morning for a mani / pedi. Lien and Cindy were so nice, professional, and very, very good at what they do. Cindy did a wonderful job on my pedicure and my heels were so thankful! The sugar scrub, hot stones, and hot wrap made my day. On top of that, they were fast! Great staff, sweet and friendly ladies who provided really nice service on my male manicure and pedicure. Service was provided outside on the sidewalk, where dividers and plexiglass were in place. One of the best pedicures I've had in the Bay Area. These ladies really take their time and make sure every nail is painted to perfection. They use a Dremel-type tool to sand down rough heels, which left my feet softer than ever. It's a small and cozy spot, but they offer little snacks, tea and warm neck wraps to make the experience extra pampering. I will definitely visit again when I'm in the area! read more

The wonderful women who ran Nail Connections in Tiburon for the past 20+ years opened a beautiful little nail salon right at 94 E. Blithedale Avenue in Mill Valley last fall. Parking is super easy right out front and they are now open again with services on a shady comfortable sidewalk. Everything in the new salon has always been neat and very clean, and the outdoor setup provides more than the required distancing from other customers and all of the acrylic barriers, PPE, etc. I felt very safe and of course, as usual, left with a manicure and pedicure that I loved. I wish I could give more stars! I've been going to Ly for the last 3 years and she is one the nicest and most talented nail technicians in Marin. My nails are fairly thin so my typical order is acrylic with gel. I can easily go an entire month with no chips/breaks in the nail and they look good as new! There is a huge variety of colors to choose from which I love since I am always changing it up depending on the season or occasion. Booking an appointment is so easy and they are always extremely flexible and considerate if you need to reschedule or have a small window of availability. Love this new location and beautiful salon! Like many, I'm not usually one to write a review. I had a mani- pedi this morning at Nail Motif. I was the first client and arrived a little early- no problem they took me right away after hand sanitizer and a temperature check. I chose polish colors from a nail chart similar to gel polishes-smart so that only the staff handles the bottles. As the rest of the staff arrived they continued preparing for the day- every surface was cleaned, every individual bottle of cuticle oil, acetone etc was wiped down. They also continue to offer services outside. My mani pedi was relaxing - hot stone massage included. Of the many salons in Mill Valley I find Nail Motif to be the best. read more

I've been here twice now and had mixed experiences. I got a simple pedicure a few weeks ago and it was perfectly lovely. I then came back a week later to get my nails done before my wedding and was really disappointed by how they turned out. The nail technician was clearly rushing as it was close to closing time, so I felt for her, but the acrylic nails came out so bad I had to go somewhere else and have them re-done before the wedding. I wish I'd had time to take pictures but unfortunately didn't. They were very thick, cartoon-ish and totally un-even. I would recommend this salon for a simple paint-only mani or pedi but would never have anything more intricate done here. There isn't a comfortable spot to rest your hands during a manicure either so the technicians are doing them from an angle, which isn't ideal. read more
