Went in for a pedicure on a Sunday. I used to come here more often after work because it was convenient and because I lived close by. Prices for pedicure were good and the service was fast. But this last visit was painful. It was quick , loved the color and my service BUT when it came down to shaving the dead skin off they went to deep to it. I ended up with both feet in pain with two deep cuts. I did not start feeling the pain until i laid down to bed I looked and saw two cuts on both bottoms. I am now force to lay my feet up and not walk as much because it does hurt. I'll post some photos . Hopefully it heals quick since I'm always running around. read more

I walk in a few days ago without an appointment and they took me right away. It smelled kinda bad and looked dirty in there. A lady did my pedicure and it was good (that's why I gave 1 stars) Later on a older lady came to me (I'm guessing she's the owner or manger) she kept trying to talk me into an acupuncture service it was really aggravating she said it was for diet so I felt like she was trying to say that I'm fat! Facial: for microdurm it's a good deal. Nails: my no chip manures always were fine Waxing: Eyebrow and underarm always was fine Massage: it's a relaxing, feel good rub. Obviously not a licensed massage therapist so if you have a delicate body or need a massage to address a physical issue I'd go else where. NEVER NEVER NEVER get a Brazilian at this place. My normal estatition wasn't available one afternoon and I was impatient so I went here. BIG MISTAKE. Went here on a Sunday around 4pm after my regular place was real busy. I was seen by two different people for one manicure. I don't like being switched around. However, the girl who finished off spoke English so that was a plus. Two stars only for these reasons- 1. Had to ask for have my cuticles cut more 2. Bad job with the polish (maybe she was new) 3. Base coat was used as top coat as well 4. After all- the actual polish job was ehh, as if I had done them myself and the nails were rough on the edges. May not return. I went here for a pedicure yesterday after attempting to get one at a horrible place in Chinatown. I can't remember the name but it's the only salon in the "mall" part on the north side of Archer. I can only comment on the customer service there but it was beyond awful. So I kept looking. I vaguely remembered seeing Nail Station on Yelp so drove over here. I needed a quick pedi and just wanted to get in somewhere. I found this place, saw it was open, and walked in holding my breath. Nobody was in there when a worker came out. She said she could take me right then. Yea!! It wasn't the best pedi I've ever had -- I just got a regular one for $24 -- but after my annoying & bad experience in Chinatown I was very happy with the customer service (very friendly & quick service). I also liked the space itself (I didn't think it smelled at all & it was bright, airy, and comfortable), the pricing, and their hours. They are open until 8pm during the week and take appointments until 9pm. That means I might actually be able to get a pedi after putting my toddler to bed for the night (with my husband staying at home, of course)!! Very exciting. This isn't a place to drive out of your way for, but if you want an inexpensive mani or pedi in a nice shop, this is definitely your place. read more

This is a great local nail shop with excellent hours, open to 9PM!!! Thank you!! I have been here three times now and each time I am treated very well. The first time I went I was given a mimosa! They have a good selection of OPI, ESSIE and other nail polishes, not necessarily the newest trending collections but certainly a good selection, I like to bring my own colors because I like to be able to touch up when needed. The owner is very friendly and is always making sure everyone is satisfied. It is a little hard to communicate with the staff if the owner is not there, but again, she usually always is, or comes in shortly after I get there so it's not a big problem. Examples of tricky conversations were getting more hot water for the pedicure and asking for a specific nail design, both requests were handled by the owner without a problem. This place has a steady flow of customers but the wait is never too long. They offer other services like massage, facials and hair removal. I am really interested in the ear candling special! Parking is super easy in front, check this place out if you're in the area! read more

I live in Hyde Park and since we are completely devoid of decent nail places, I decided to give Nail Station a try. I went with my roommate and although there was only one other person there, they said they could only take one of us right away. I don't mind waiting, I only find it strange since there were many other employees there at that time who weren't with customers. There was nothing grossly wrong with the manicure, but that is about the best I can say. It seemed like a polish change. There was almost no "manicure," no cuticle cutting, massage, filing. She did fine polishing my nails, but that's not what I paid for. The ambiance of the place left much to be desired. They didn't have any magazines I'd ever heard of to read while I waited and it was cold, brr! Also, I had a strange encounter with the other nail technician. While my nails were being soaked, she asked what color I was getting and I told her dark purple and showed her the bottle. She said, "oh that's going to be blue" and walked away. No offer to get me a color that would be purple or follow up. My poor roommate had to find me another color, while hoping her semi-wet nails didn't smudge. If I was hard up for some nail color, I might come here again, but I think it's worth traveling farther and getting a better nail service. read more

My friend and I were looking for a place open on Labor Day (and there weren't many) to do a girls day. She found Nail Station conveniently located a walking distance from her place. She scheduled an appointment for us to do a mani/pedi. I recommend the appointment setting because a girl walked in and walked out after waiting a half hour. (they were busy....patience is a virtue) This was my second pedicure and my only lack of a star was the water was really hot, I was afraid I was going to burn my feet. But I ended up being okay and I found out they serve MIMOSAS!!! What?! YES PLEASE!!!! They did a great job on the pedicure and my friend is still trying to figure out the lotion they used on both our hands and feet because it smells amazing. I brought my own polish and they were okay with that, usually I get a dirty look. Everyone there was really nice though and we definitely plan to make this our go to for girls day. I've been there three times doing the same thing - no-ship french color without manicure, only applying no-chip polish. The price was different every time - 2 weeks ago it was $18, today it was $33!! First time it was ok. Second time it took about ridiculous 1,5 hours for the girl to get my nails done - 10 mins to take off the previous and 1hr 20mins to "paint" french. The shape was nice, but the coating on the tips was very thick and felt bulky. Third time, today, another girl did my nails very fast, but it was sloppy job. When she was taking off the old polish it was literally painful! The shape of the new polish is very inaccurate and uneven. And they charged me almost twice the price for some reason! The place overall feels somewhat dirty and in need of a manager and cleaning person. Never ever will I go there again. Will have to find something else. read more

Service was OK here. I came in when it wasn't that busy. Some things that got me questioning was the facial I received. It was itchy afterwards and I remembered my allergies from the use of safflower oil. I asked about the ingredients used and they ensured me that it was H2O products so I shouldn't have any allergies. They claimed it was the dry weather that caused my face to be itchy. I applied moisturizers on my face every morning and night and never had that itchiness before I came over for a facial. I also got a pedicure (no-chip) and it was OK. The color was nice. They do have a small collection of colors to choose from. Parking was easy to find since it was a cold day? I am not sure about coming back for anything more than a basic manicure or pedicure since I feel it is a tad overpriced for the amount of choices available here. She wasn't very gentle with the scrub, massage or maneuvering of my fingers during the mani. This is not a top tier salon and it's interior, tools and overall look is outdated. Amy and her staff are top notch. I became a regular there about a year ago and never sat down to write a review. I have watched these artists create some beautiful nails on women. Amy is always looking for new processes and services to offer her clients. She is always upgrading equipment and the shop is extremely clean. Amy and her staff are very friendly, highly skilled, and make sure the customer is happy with the service. While I only do a regular manicure and pedicure, I have tried their facials, and very recently they added haircuts to the list of services. Michelle has been doing my nails for the past few months and on Monday gave me a very nice haircut. I can highly recommend her. Due to nursing school, I have not been able to get a no chip manicure. That ended yesterday evening when my boyfriend took me to this wonderful place. The wait was about five minutes, since the ladies were busy. (good for them! business is always a good sign!) The owner was the sweetest, very friendly and nice to my boyfriend and I. The only place that opens early and closes late near my home! Went on a Friday at 9am with my niece. She got a pedi and a full set ballerina shaped nails and she loved it. Amy and her team are always amazing. I've been going to them since 2007 when I moved to the neighborhood. I tried a few other places in the neighborhood before going to them. Since going there I haven't been elsewhere. They go above and beyond for your business. They provide drinks, stay open late, open early, tip you off to where they have a discount, and even occasionally deep discount a new service just to get you to try it. Sometimes accidents happen and a cuticle get cut or a nail not filed straight, but they're always willing to fix it and apologize for the mishap and it's only happened to me when it's someone new to working at the shop. I think it's great that Amy's a trainer and helping girls to learn new things. They always have a great selection of polish and never give me a hard time when I really want to use my own. Actually I was recently on vacation and got my nails done while I was there, but can't wait to go back to Nail Station for the maintenance. In Chicago it isn't often that you can go a place where people remember your name even if you haven't been there in a few months - at Nail Station that's standard. Also, in the almost 7 full years I've been a customer I've never once heard anyone there talk about another staff member or customer, no matter how difficult a customer may have been. I've been to plenty of shops where when a difficult customer leaves everyone in the store is chatting negatively. I've never had that experience at Nail Station. They're the best. This is place is the worst nail salon I HAVE EVER BEEN TOO! Pedicure was horrible, the girl didn't even clean my feet or apply my nail polish correctly. I complained to the owner, the owner blames my light colored nail polish ....my light colored nail polish caused my feet to still have dead skin??? So she said she would do my nails, I requested a no-chip. Not only was she slapping my hands and throwing them everywhere, she allowed my no chip to bleed into my nail beds and didn't clean it. I've gotten my nails done every week for oh so many years...I have never been treated so badly and experienced such horrible service. I would honestly advise no one to go here! Decided to give this place a try today after I called to confirm availability. Came in 5 mins later and was told there'd be a 30 min wait. My friend and I opted to wait, not really thinking it would take that long since two patrons were being attended to and we were next. An hour later, with no acknowledgements or apologies for twice the wait time we were given, we were told to have a seat in the pedi chairs. I said "it took too long, we waited for over an hour. Unless you can give me a discount, no thank you." She responded, "ok, thank you, bye." Wow. See ya. After shopping around many times at other salons & spas because of a competitor coupon or a referral, I always come back to this place and kick myself for going elsewhere. Not only do they offer a friendly, very attentive and fine pedicure and manicure that looks great even after a week and a half but their hook is the complimentary acupressure foot & hand message. It is unbelievable! There's a few manicurist there that are better than the others but when they get the pressure points in your foot and hand so accurately you get a wave of tingling sensations at the crown of your head. Not sure how they do it but it is strangely divine. Also, I have received the eyebrow wax service. They go the extra step for a bit of a trim to make sure it is finished off perfectly. Horrible!! They made my nail polish too thick, they didn't clean the nails up after they were finished and they didn't massage my feet for the pedicure. So I get a pedicures periodically and I have gone to plenty of nail spots. This is my favorite because they are always kind and remember me which in any business is a breathe of fresh air! My experience right now is beyond amazing so i felt the need to create an account and tell everyone! My flight was changed last minute to 7am vs 7pm so I have been cramming to get all my to do list done. I finally got home and noticed I forgot to get my feet done. I'm headed to Florida so I need to make sure I get my feet in order. I called at 940p and they were closed but Aimee the owner answered and as always she was beyond kind. Sara was really nice and friendly, before when I use to come here not very much of the nail tech speak good English, and it was really boring having to sit through a hour and a half mani pedi with no one talking to you. I had the non-chip manicure yesterday by Sarah (spelling?) at the Nail Station in Bridgeport, because i could not get an appointment at my regular salon which is in the Gold Coast. She did a fantastic job and my nails look perfect-however, I will see how long the non-chip lasts. When I have the non-chip manicure at my regular salon, it will last over 2 weeks and my nails need to be done simply because of outgrowth from the cuticle-no peeling or wear on the tips. I will check back in 2 weeks. I do plan on going back to the Nail Station in the near future and try the eyelash enhancer. A regular client was there at the time I was getting my non-chip and referred me to Sarah to do eyelashes. Her eyelashes were gorgeous! What I saw with this client, coupled with the price, it is my opinion that it is definitely worth the try!! read more
