Walked in a couple weeks ago, first impression was nice. Clean and super friendly! A lot of customers during peak hours and first name basis with customers walking in, so I knew the place was well established. My personal experience; it my first time since moving to the area and looking for a new permanent place to go to every couple weeks so I wanted to try it out. They specialize in every type of nail set, so my choice was dip w/ acrylic nail tips for extra length in all white and they came out exactly how I expected! I am not typically one who writes a review, but am compelled to do so. I have continued to go back to this salon to give them chances to overcome my bad experiences, but am done now. The manager/person in charge is incredibly rude and disrespectful; the techs are similarly rude, why would they not be given the environment created by the manager/person in charge and consistently give poor service - had the worst manicure in my entire manicure experience (which spans many decades) there last week; the service is notorious for starting, stopping, switching techs and not timely finishing the services started, the pricing is inconsistent without justification or explanation, and all the employees in the salon speak loudly to each other in their native language in a manner that sounds angry and agitated, and in any case which is distracting and disruptive. Would discouraging anyone from going to this salon. By contrast the salon of the same name on West Gray in the Kroger Shopping Center is lovely and the complete opposite - go there instead! read more

Service was bad. I came in and the water to soak my feet in was scorching hot. The nail technician that did my nails did a mediocre job. I've been to better places. After I dried my nails, I was not greeted or anything when I left cause all the ladies seemed done for the day and were standing around talking to each other at the front desk, which is awfully rude. The place was also priced higher than the average ($30 for a pedi) for an under average place. Overall, I wouldn't come back to this place. read more

Ok let me just start by saying NO. this might be the worst customer service experience i have ever had at a nail salon. Well start by saying they ASSUMED i wanted a pedicure and ran me a bowl of water, then started violently screamed at each other, after i said i didn't want a pedicure, in Vietnamese and told me to sit back down. 10 min later i got sat again and she wrapped only one hand in acetone to take off my shellac and left. Ten minutes later another nail tech sat down and rewrapped that hand and finally my other hand. After this i got moved A THIRD TIME across the room. This final nail tech was the end. She took calls while doing my nails. Would stop and walk off every 5 minutes and come back and forget what she was doing. During one of her many breaks she took i had to continue filing my nails myself and scraping off old shellac residue she missed. She simply ran the cuticle clippers around the perimeter of my nail instead of actually clipping my cuticles. Then she forgot which nails she put top coats on and did one hand twice and missed one nail completely. She would also completely stop (when she actually was sitting down) and scream at people in my face in Vietnamese for way too long. She put my hand on an inflatable stadium football (pictured, can we say unsanitary?) to paint my nails and kept her tools sitting on a trashcan. To top it all off, she "sanitized" her tools by dunking them in my used soaking water (pictured). Before she even began i could see crud on the cuticle pusher that she used on me. Just avoid. Unprofessional, unsanitary, and just horrible. I wish i could give 0 stars. read more

I really wanted this place to be good because it is so close to my house, but that was not the case... I got a shellac manicure and within 5 days it was chipping! The initial result was not great either. The polish didn't cover my whole nail and it was not applied smoothly. The color selection sucks, and the service is pretty slow. I was a walk-in today, and while I don't expect immediate service when I don't have an appointment, I also don't expect to be led to put my feet in water for a pedicure 15 MINUTES before someone comes to do my nails. I would have rather waited at the front and stayed dry. A woman came in behind me and they started on her pedicure while I sat here debating whether I should leave and looking around for a towel I could use to dry off my legs and feet. The only reason I didn't was that I am leaving town tomorrow, this was the only chance I had to have my nails done before then, and I didn't think I could make it to my favorite salon on Shepherd before they closed. I won't return here. After I posted the paragraph above, the manicurist drew blood while trimming my cuticles. This trip was not worth the time or money I spent there. read more

Let me tell you: this is my very first time writing a review. You can say I'm pretty upset. Been in this salon before, it really depends who will do your nails. Today was the day I got really bad experience and not planning to go back there again. I wanted to do only shellac without manicure (they often cut your skin and I don't trust how sanitized are their tools). The lady cut my skin with a File! Then she said she will cut my cuticle slightly, which cause 2 more cuts. The color was see through, with spots, not even. Cost $40 - just HORRIBLE! And it's funny how at the end they always mentioned "Very pretty" - I'm not a professional and can see is just bad. read more

This place gave me athlete's feet. They do not use disposable covers for their foot tubs. I asked them 3 times to help me match my colors, they would not help. My shellac nails don't even come close to matching my regular pedi. #annoyed. The place needs a dedicated cashier/receptionist. The salon doesn't have dip colors for a regular dip manicure. Instead they insisted I get "clear dip" and then paint over it with normal polish. Ended up looking pretty terrible, not to mention half way through the manicure, my technician got up for 15 minutes to go work on another customer's nails. For my pedicure, the technician said the deluxe was much better than the regular pedicure. I agreed to the deluxe, but I didn't receive a leg or foot massage and she didn't even file my toe nails (isn't this part of any pedicure). My toenails look like a 5 year old painted them and are not shaped. I ended up spending 2 hours and over $100 for incredibly sub par service and final result. Very disappointed. read more

All was well. The place looked upscale and clean. Then, suddenly, a divot of flesh from my ring fingernail sent me out of my chair. As the blood gushed the assailant actually blew on my finger to "help with the burn". I asked her to please stop due to the germs and instead provide antiseptic. What I got instead was 'styptic" which stops bleeding but not infection. At this point I am thinking about my limited window to clean the wound but rather than help I was offered an extended lecture on why my nails are not suited to cuticle trimming and so all was really my fault. I have been getting manicures for 20 years and this is the worst cut and the least empathetic response I have ever received. Oh yeah, they are expensive too. Never again! read more

I have been seeing Linda & Mary for YEARS. Love them!!! I rarely trust anyone with my nails because I like to keep my finger nails short (something nail people always complain about) and Linda does the best job shaping.
