I went to the salon today for the first time and here is my honest review: Pros: I really like the fact that this nail salon opened at 9 AM when most salons don't open till 10 or later. My usual, Nail Salon did not open until 10 and with me having to go to an event later, I wanted to get in as soon as possible, so I stopped at this salon. Inside it was very , classy, neat, and they offered water or wine. Cons: although the staff seem pretty nice and professional, the gentleman that worked on my pedicure and fall sad did not appease me. He was very quiet, not that friendly, and very rough! When going to a nail salon and spa, do you want to feel pampered and relaxed and I was on the edge the entire time because of how rough he handled my hands. I also feel he did not pay attention to detail because he did not give me what I asked for at the end, although they looked decent. My nails were a little bulky, and instead of clipping my cuticles with the cuticle nipper, he used the electric file which can be rough on a woman's nails. He kept asking me if I was sensitive. No! But you're a little rough lol, I'm not sure I will return to the salon, but if I do, I will just ask for another staff member. The other clients in the salon seemed very satisfied with their service. I also tipped him generously at the end and he just accepted it and walked away just not friendly. read more

Terrible sevice, the gel manicure was completed by two different people. In previous times using this salon they would end the manicure with lotion. Today, I asked, do you have lotion, she handed me the bottle, very weird and unprofessional. They were very rushed and rude the entire time, I have been there many times, and it always seems like the services are getting less and less. read more

I followed my favorite nail technicians to this location. They are still doing a wonderful job however, the owner hovered over us both in silence watching my manicure which was very uncomfortable. He did not acknowledge me as a client or say hello. I also don't enjoy the music playlist or what is shown on TV. I did learn how to make sushi after seeing the same loop 15 times. read more

I'm only giving this nail spa 3 stars because out of 2 pedicures I scheduled for my daughter and I of which we both said we wanted the basic pedicure for $32, I wound up paying $43 for one of them because the nail tech asked my daughter if the callous remover was ok and she said yes. He neglected to say "by the way this is an extra charge " which I thought was wrong because she had no clue I wasn't part of the pedicure and we aren't regular customers. This was a bit deceptive and I paid for it but was not happy when I left. Just make sure you are very clear when you explain what you want so additional treatments aren't added without your knowledge. read more

One week after getting a gel mani at this salon, the gel started to lift and get caught on things ripping it right off. Do not recommend going here if you want to pay regular prices for something that doesn't last and is poor quality. read more

The technician was rushed and did not clean up the polish that got onto my cuticle and skin around the nail. She let the gel harden and then used cuticle trimmers to cut it off, along with my skin. read more

I walked in and asked if I can get a polish change. I wanted French tip. instead of saying yes or no the older lady needs to look at my nails. still no answer. I sit at this guy station. he removes my polish and use this tool and put a red mark in the center of my nail from scraping. he gets a plain bowl of water no soap or anything. tells me to put my hands in. proceed to cutting my cuticle... I NEVER ASKED FOR A MANICURE. i didn't even know thats what I was getting until I saw the tools cause th water wasn't manicure water. then he shows the picture to the lady after he rack up service I didn't ask for and tell me the French tip I desire is $20. I showed him the picture before he started my nails he didn't say nothin. so after I pay $20 for a service i didn't ask for and he also charged me $10 for a gel polish he didn't put on. I hope he never make a penny. this establishement is a rip off. they will sneak to try to get money out of you. I won't ever go there again. read more

Love love the ambiance here and amazing staff! I have lived in sykesville all of my life and the other salons here just don't compare to the customer service you receive at Nail Trix. I think they had a bad wave with hiring a couple new techs but those bad seeds aren't here anymore. Just family run and they treat you like you're family. I wouldn't take my business anywhere but here. Ask for Jenn or David, they'll always make sure you leave happy. read more

First time and last time !!!! I went to this nail salon because I was going on a beach trip right after. This was the closes opinion I had, I walked in there was no wait which was the best part. The staff was nice it's just the work, and I felt overpriced. I got a $50 pedicure it was gel French tip, then I got a full set done. When I was almost done my boyfriend paid and told me the bill was $158. I was completely shocked no one told me prices of anything, but then again I should of asked. I was happy with the results when I left, but I still felt I should of asked for another top coat on my nails. I was already 3 hours late to check-in the hotel because I was at this salon. I had a gut feeling I should of just got my toes done and leave but my boyfriend wanted to treat me for my birthday. All in all the very next day my nails were chipping, and now It been a couple more day now and it's a lot worse. I wasn't gonna go back after my trip because I was 2 hours away myself from that salon. But now I have to spend more money so it doesn't look bad. Very disappointed! read more

Was pleasantly surprised by the decor when I went inside -- it looked clean and hygienic. But was deeply disappointed by the total lack of sanitation protocols. 1. Upon entering, I wasn't given hand sanitizer and wasn't asked to wash hands like other local competitors. This means clients before me could've picked their nose or sneezed and all this cross contamination occurs among the nail polish brushes, tools and nail files. 2. During the nail appointment, the technician never soaked my hands before working on them... 3. Tools like a file were clearly used and worn down, which was disturbing knowing that the same tools were used on other people's dirty hands (!!!). 4. I tried my best to be gracious but then this happened: while I was drying my nails under the light, the technician started filing her nails that were not clean--she had used her phone multiple times and touched other things like tools, her face, etc. then after filing her nails -- getting her nail dust all up in my face -- she used the same file on my nails. Gross. I was so displeased... 5. Nail dust was all over the technician's dry hands, and she repeatedly kept touching her cell phone, then touching my nails...phones are literally the dirtiest things we own- dirtier than toilets. Meanwhile, the lotion massage was so uncomfortable because the technician had the driest hands that, yes, still had nail dust all over it. Can we make it standard to wash hands BEFORE the massage? 6. The arm rest I had, had gunk on it and was not clean and when I left my shirt had touched alcohol and polish that was on the table and not cleaned up...which I didn't notice til I went to my car. I just couldn't believe how unhygienic the experience was. We are in a pandemic! Now isn't the time to throw all protocols out the window. Shouldn't it be sanitation 101 to make sure ALL clients wash their hands or use sanitizer before service? Think about the nail polish bottles soaking in bacteria right now. Cringe. I wanted to leave believing this would be my local nail spot. But Citron is still the cleanest place to go. Do better, Trix...:/ read more

Worst place ever! This time was my second time going there even though I should have not given them a chance after the first time. Their pedicure and dip nails do not last. This last time we waited 45 minutes for our pedicure even though we had an appointment. My daughter's technician kept getting up during her pedicure to take care of other customers and completely rushed through the whole thing! She only got one coat of polish and was so upset when we left she had tears in her eyes. We will definitely not be back! I regret giving them a second chance. The salon is very pretty and welcoming but the service is terrible. Don't go there unless you have endless time to waste waiting for a mediocre pedicure at best! read more

Went in for a full set. Left with crooked, lumpy, and uneven nails. The gel on top of the nails was very messy and even went off the nail on to my fingers. Of course I didn't notice all this until I got home. I've done gel manicures on myself much better than I got at this salon. My nail tech also started coughing and didn't turn away or excuse himself. Considering COVID, I'm very disappointed. I will not be returning and I will be getting these fixed soon elsewhere. read more

I have not been in a nail salon since the pandemic hit. And I was still a little worried about safety but the health of my feet pushed me to go. This was also my first experience at Nail Trix. I was impressed as soon as I walked in. They use a tablet for check in and there was a person ahead of me. As soon as they checked in, one of the manicurists cleaned the screen before I used it. All manicure stations are outfitted with plexiglas shields between the client and manicurist. I was only getting a pedicure but it was nice to see that. I was kept separate from the other pedicure client. The spa treatment was enjoyable and my manicurist took her time. Getting the pedicure, callus removal, sugar scrub, lotions, massage, and hot towels for $42 was a deal in my experience. I will return. Good job, Nail Trix. read more

First time and last time. Don't be TRICKED by Nail Trix! Excited to try the new spot in town. I went in without an appointment on a Sat. Got a friendly welcome. Checked in at the computerized system at the front desk. I selected the $28 basic pedicure as the service I wanted. Picked my color and was taken back to a pedicure chair very quickly. The Spa is very pretty. Everything is brand new. They have 10 or so pedicure chairs and at least that in nail stations. Nice relaxing music playing. I was offered water/wine. A few other customers chatting and saying how nice it was. Water is filling up in the bowl and I'm getting situated in the chair. The Nail tech hands me the pedicure selection sheet. Now this is absolutely my fault that I didn't read the sheet, but why would I? - I had already read about the choices offered when I checked in on the computer. I said the "first one will be fine" as that was the $28 basic pedicure listed on the computer check in. However later I find out that $28 pedicure wasn't even listed on the sheet she provided me - the sheet starts at $38 ! So I start to relax in the chair, I'm reading on my phone, I close my eyes enjoying the massage. I don't really pay to much attention to what is going on as I'm relaxing. So she finishes. Asked me to move to the front to dry. I look at the paint and it's just ok, a few spots on the cuticles, no biggie, but I could have done just as well with the painting. It was about 35 mins total for pedicure. I dry for a bit and go pay and she says "$38!" I said "I thought it was $28 ?!" So she shows me the sheet and says "you picked the $38 pedicure". Oh ok ! so I pay and left feeling very Tricked by Nail Trix. Why would they have a check in system where you select what service you want and not look at it?? And why don't they have the $28 pedicure listed on the sheet they show?? Well it's a trick to get you to spend more! The $38 gave some extra lotion and 2 hot towels vs 1 on your legs at the end. Not worth it at all. Very disappointed and won't be back. read more

Brand new everything... wall to wall...very pleased with all services and hospitality ... beautiful and very clean and shiny ... I have been to many salons and found this one to be exceptional in every way ... give it a try !!! Everyone is extremely friendly!!!
