We have been going here for a while and have been happy with the service, but today, I witnessed Erik, the owner, berate and embarrass one of his employees publicly. I was livid. Normally I would address an injustice right away, but my daughter was pleading with her eyes for me not to do anything right there. Super cute nail spot! The salon is the cleanest in the area; and I've tried many places over the years. I went in on a very busy Monday afternoon, and despite having made an appointment, it was still hopping. I'd definitely recommend making an appointment! The staff is polite and professional. Supplies are properly sterilized and workstations are impeccably clean. I work in the medical field and am a stickler for proper sanitation and cleanliness; this place did not disappoint. Although they are a bit pricier than most places, you get what you pay for. I'm definitely coming back here again to try their other services! This maybe my new go to nail spot! read more

The nail tech didn't like me, and I didn't like her either... I went in for a gel manicure and told her that I was trying to grow out my nails so could she please preserve the strength of the nail as much as possible. She said my nails will be so long next time I come, and then she used the electric file to file off the top layers of the previous gels ... but she didn't stop there she also filed right down to the nail in some places. Then she asked me if I wanted her to cut my nails. I decided to watch her more closely and caught a few things before she messed up my nails further. By the end she was so frustrated with me she was rushing me through the last layer of gel so I wouldn't have time to check behind her and tell her anything else... if you don't want to be told anything then do your job right. Also, don't get mad and start talking about your customer in Vietnamese, we know you are talking about us. These people are assholes, I won't be going back. The male nail techs looked like they did a much better job and because of my policing my nails didn't turn out that bad. But it was an anxiety producing experience altogether. read more

Everything posted about this establishment being racist is true, completely true. I came in for an 11:30 appointment he said they were busy and it would be a few minutes. No problem, I'm patient. Another girl entered after me with no appointment and another client, clearly a regular whom he addressed by name announced she was early for her 12:00, as it was about 10 minutes before noon at that point. The owner did not acknowledge me but rather sat them both before me. Even the regular customer asked, "what about her?" To which he nodded and said "he'd get to me" with a tone that indicated .... eventually. Um, no sir you won't. There was also a clear distinction in the way the black customers were greeted and responded to, and let me just say I'm not one of those who looks for signs of racism everywhere. If you don't mind supporting a blatant racist or being treated with less than excellent customer service because you were born with melanin then by all means continue to patronize this establishment. I, however, am currently in a chair not too far from there enjoying an awesome mani and pedi. Great tranquil beautiful environment but I'll NEVER go back and actually spend money. Today was my last day coming to the Nail Bar. My experiences has either been listening to the owner brag all day, or rejected when trying to come in as a walk-in. I scheduled an appointment 3 days ago with the owner, Eric for today and he was a "no show." Nobody bothered to call me and reschedule and the worst part is that he called and I had to listen to him try and pawn me off o the girl who answered the phone and she declined because she was busy. Friend and I had appt at same time. Friend got pedi while my feet sat in tub for 1 hr. I was informed that 2 employees called out. The guy (the owner) constantly had to stop my pedi to help incoming customers. The paint job on my toes and nails was ridiculous. A 6 year old could have painted my nails. Needless to say, my day at this nail salon with my friend was no fun. I can honestly say that when my friends saw my nails later at the cookout, they all said they'd be staying away from that place. Had an appointment for a mani pedi. Showed up on time. Owner or manager of the place clearly wasn't happy about it as he proceeded to tell off the salon coordinator who scheduled me in. He had two clients he was drilling acrylic on, and he completely told off his employee right into the clients faces he was working on. Then they asked me to wait another 45 minutes if I actually wanted a service. Given the awkward situation the owner had already put me in by arguing over my appointment with the entire room, I decided to leave. Only place I will go now for my nails. I was referred to the Nail bar by a friend when I was looking for somewhere really good for my wedding nails that was also not too far from home. I was immediately impressed when I walked in. Not only is this place extremely clean, it is very relaxing. You truly have a good experience every time you go. They always have calming, light music playing and a beautiful big fish tank with a nice ambiance. Unlike other places in the area it is very open feeling, decorated beautifully and all of there chairs are in tact and not worn down. As for the pedicures, they are hands down the best I have had that include an amazing massage that isn't skimped on time. They have an enormous selection to choose from in gel nail colors and dipped colors. I have gone to almost all of the technicians here for both pedicures and manicures and can honesty say the vast majority are amazing and do beautiful work. Along with a great experience the price is very good also. For the quality of work you always get more for your money. They are much less than high end places with the same experience and atmosphere. You shouldn't ever be disappointed when visiting this place. If you are, I'd say the problem is you. read more

The only place i let touch my toes! Ive always had issues with in grown toe nails and other places are not gentle or just do a horrible job. Eric (the owner) is very passionate about his business and wants his clients to have the best relaxing appointment possible. Its very quiet and theres no gossip between the employees. Went here to do self care with a fellow therapist and friend. We had a great time. The technicians were friendly and experienced. They have a good selection of polish. The prices were a bit expensive but you get what you pay for and it was worth the price. They also serve wine. But I didn't realize you can bring wine in as well. I was in there this past Friday getting my nails done with some friends for a concert. A day after my nails started turning yellow and the paint was chipping. I knew getting white nails at SOME POINT they would turn yellow but not after less then 24 hours....I went back today to see if they could kindly fix my problem because I think paying $45 for a gel manicure I should have no issues. I spoke with Eric, who I assume is the owner or manager. He was extremely rude and arrogant to me. He argued with me for 10 minutes before offering to fix my nails then is talking about me to his employees as well as ANOTHER CLIENT. To me that is totally unprofessional. I have been going to the same place down the street for over many years and never once have I felt this way while getting my nails done. I like to try a new place every once in a while but I was proven wrong. Even while getting my nails fixed I felt rushed and uncomfortable and couldn't wait to get out. I told Eric that it was rude an unprofessional about what he did and that I would never be returning to give my business. I went to the NailBar a few times in high school. When i use to go i would get full sets or gel manicures, my gel manicures wouldn't last long and when i would ask them why i was told my nails grow weird. After not getting my nails done for a number of years I decided to start treating myself, I was going to Kenwood Nails which is ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE the people there are kind and helpful, however (2 nights ago) they were closed by the time I got off work. I decided i would go to the Nail Bar and give it a try since back in high school it was the hot place to go. BIGGEST MISTAKE of my day, they were an hour before closing ( I was prepared to get turned away) they sat my friend and I anyway ( I really wish they would have turned us away) the owner was leaving and told his staff to stay back, after explaining I just wanted a gel manicure they told me it would be $35 (thats fine i know they vary based on the salon) My friend however it was her first time going anywhere other then Kenwood, so when they handed her the gel colors she was a little overwhelmed. After trying to choose a color and being told "no you can't have that color" 2 or 3 times we settled on some basic gel polish colors. Once i was seated they immediately began filing my nail down (removing more then the just shine off my nails) after hitting my cuticle 3 times i brought it to my nail techs attention, instead of stopping as i request she continued (not understanding what i had said) once she FINALLY stopped filing my nail she wiped it with alcohol OUCH almost all of my nails had been cut she had me soak my hands for less then a minute and clipped me a few times while "removing" my cuticle. When she finally started painting my nails (they are still burning from the cuts) she put about 2 coats on and the color was still very see through, after requesting another coat they started talking to each other in a language i couldn't understand, when i asked what time it was they pointed at the clock behind me as if i could just look myself. (even though my tech had her phone in her hand) at the end of my manicure she began filing again i did not want my nails clipped or filed other then to shape them, she filed the tips of my nail taking off the gel polish that had "rapped the tip" to help elongate the life of the manicure. (as i was told from my regular place that was the reason for wrapping it) After being thoroughly annoyed I handed her $35 and walked out i didn't want a receipt or to be there any longer. Upon examining my nails in my car I was PISSED my cuticles were bleeding my nail beds were red and there was an infection beginning on my left middle finger and ontop of all of that My nails are extremely weak and feel like they are going to break. I WILL NEVER COME BACK and will stick to my regular place. read more

This was my second visit for a mani/pedi. The first time, I had a young lady who was gentle and thorough. This time, I was assigned to a male who seemed to be the owner or manager. He rushed through my manicure, jammed my cuticles very roughly, and he was preoccupied with what all the ladies working there were doing. He kept looking at them while he was doing my manicure. He was spouting off orders to them, and if he heard them talking with customers, he gave them a "dirty" look, and they stopped talking. By the next day, every cuticle on every finger was frayed and extremely sore. It felt like the blade he used was too dull, too. My pedicure was done by a young female, and it was very quick. She did not take time to do the job adequately. My hand polish and the polish on my toenails all began to show wear by the 2nd day after the service. I will not return. read more

Visited a few wks ago bc it was close to me. At first it seemed just OK.I felt rushed & communication was a major issue. Also quality (due to their rushing) was bad :( I orig decided to go get the gel polish only bc I have a large split in my thumb nail that will not heal, going on 3 yrs, and it's very painful. I haven't gone to a nail salon in over 6 yrs BTW!! So, originally I ONLY wanted a gel polish mani for some extra strength. However, the technician talked me into a full gel + gel polish bc my nails were so thin (from $30 to $60 with the tip)..NOT a good idea :/ They unevenly applied the gel overlay on my nails, my nails grow super fast, I had a large lump in the space of my cuticle within a couple days. My split thumb nail immediately began pulling away from the gel bond (due to not being applied correctly down the sides)!! I had to constantly file underneath to try & maintain it from getting hooked on everything. I would give them 4 stars maybe if it wasn't for the shoddy work done. Also, in general the place made me feel rushed the whole time as if I were holding them up. I asked for a polish swatch to look at while she was doing my nails, but NO! Then I'm taking to long because they didn't give me time to pick out a polish, REALLY? Otherwise, yes it was clean & nice looking (relaxing). But, I also paid for a Mani, and all she did was rub lotion on my hands for 30 seconds, such a waste... read more

I have been going to the nail bar since it opened. Eric and Trish have always been friendly and accommodating. The techs do a nice job overall and they take the proper time for the service you pay for by using a timer to ensure massage is done for the time it's supposed to be. No matter how busy it is I still feel I get the time that is allotted to me. The salon is clean and all equipment sterilized between use. I would encourage making an appointment and not walking in. This business has grown in the past three years and it's not fair to walk in and assume they can squeeze in a service that otherwise takes 1.5 hrs to complete, although I see it happen every time I am there. I absolutely love this place. The customer service was excellent from the time I walked into the door until the time I left. There is also a very nice ambiance. I spoke with the owner an he was super friendly and made sure that my time there was nothing short of amazing. The pricing is more than I have ever paid going to any nail salon but you get such a great experience you will never go any where else. They use hot towels when your pedicure and manicure are over and it feels amazing ! Not to mention you get a 10 minute massage on your legs and feet when you get a certain pedicure. This is my new favorite nail shop , I will not be going anywhere else! read more

Even though we did have to wait everyone made sure that I knew why and what was going on. They were very busy since it was a Saturday. I really like this place, I have gotten my nails done here twice and they have been impeccable each time, I'll definitely be coming back. I especially love the decor, it's very clean and high end. No dustballs floating around this establishment! The first time I went, my nails were done by a younger gentleman. He was really nice and did a great job, second time was by the owner, once again he did a great job. They spend a LOT of attention to detail, and excel in nail art. Also, I see how all the negative reviews on here are usually about the owner being a mean or having to wait for an appointment, and I must admit I did see the owner unnecessarily snap at one of his employees, however, I've never had to wait. They just take so much time on each customer that I can see how a line can build up, but I've always made appointments during the day (12pm-3pm) and there was never a line (given that most people were at work.) But really other than that I swear by this place for my nails now. So many other establishments in the area are not up to date with the latest nail trends, THIS PLACE IS. read more

I never raised my voice and asked why they were so mean to customers. They will never get another dime of my money which is sad because I frequent the area. I had to write this review after reading all the other one that were negative, I'm trying to figure why so many people had such harsh things to say. The establishment is beautifully decorated, plays relaxing music, provides quality services and has quickly become the only place I'll get my nails done. As for the owner being racist, I can't even begin to agree with statement. I'm a black woman and from day one I've always been a walk in due to my unpredictable schedule, Eric has never been rude or treated me like a second class citizen. As a matter of fact, he makes time for me and even hurried back to the shop from wherever he may have been and quickly served me without hesitation and was very pleasant, as he always is. The rest of the staff are just as pleasant and make me feel welcome, even as a constant walk in client. I recommend this place and hope others aren't discouraged by the negative reviews, I went in for my own experience and I haven't regretted it so far. read more

I Had an appointment and still was waiting to be seen. I got my armpits waxed & will NEVER get a wax done there again. They aren't clean, lady was unsanitary & was using the same end of the stick for my whole wax which can give anyone an infection if someone has something.That wax is used for every waxing they do so you are not suppose to double dip the stick. I even asked her "arent you suppose to switch the stick? She said "Yes I know" & CONTINUED to use the same stick, same end. DISGUSTING hope I don't get an infection! read more

Would give 0 stars if possible! Rude, rude, rude! When I walked in the door, a man yelled at me multiple times to "take my shoes off" for no reason. I refused and he said, "I guess you're ok." Every customer after me was not asked to remove their shoes. When I told the man what I wanted, he gave me an ignorant look. When he took my hand to start the work, he went "ewwwww!," and swatted my hand away. Midway through the work, he said, "time to pay." I questioned this because the job had not been completed, but he forced me to pay. While waiting, I noticed no one else was asked to pay halfway through their job. I use to swear by this place. The owner fired Kim ( I think she had it coming) so he was the one I would ask for to do my nails. I'm usually coming there from work so I never stopped for cash. I just used my card. They never ask if you want to tip so usually I didn't. I was paying 35-40 every two weeks. SOOOOOO I figured my little 5 dollars wasnt going to pay a mortgage. I was having my nails done by eric and he was talking to another customer about nail color. She asked him what's his fav and he said OPI I like money. So the lady said oh can I see that color he said, it's not real People don't tip I like Money by OPI should be a color. He went on to say I like OPI you don't tip well, I like money. Now I'm not tipping anyone more than 5 dollars so IDK why it was so important. Plus you could only tip in cash. Which I usually didn't have. I'm not going to ride around town to find my bank just so he could have 5 dollars. It's not that deep. I won't ever go back and I damn sure won't refer anyone. read more

The manager Eric is very rude and condescending. I frequent this place often but they've recently adopted a cash only sort of policy. They still accept cards but they have a sign out insisting that customers use cash so the owner doesn't have to pay high credit fees. For a business that's pretty tacky to ask but I figured it reasonable enough . Today, after paying over $59 for pedicure and full set, I ask the tech if I can leave her tip on my card. The manager gives me a nasty look and says that I need to have cash for the employee the next time or they will not accept my card anymore. I simply explain that I won't leave a tip then and he states "well we won't be taking your appointment anymore". He further explained that if I liked the service I'd get the cash because it's unfair to the employees. He then makes some sort of joke to the client he was with and they laugh. I left offended and vowing never to return. How dare he speak to me or any paying customer that way. I guess Eric has enough business to be rude to clients and lose customers. For the prices I can most certainly go elsewhere and I will. read more
