I've been a client of Tip & Toe since Aug 2024 and can't imagine going anywhere else for service. Rose is who generally does my nails and I am always happy with the outcome. She pays great attention to detail and takes her time. There have been a few times when I had to have an "emergency" nail appt somewhere else and every single time, I've been unhappy and every single time, I've been back and Rose has fixed those horrible nails for me lol. I have definitely found a hidden gem here! I've been here 4 times now and comparing my first impression of wow, to now still being a consistent WOW! This nail salon is in a small strip mall-easy to miss if not paying attention. It's large clean, great tech's, prices competitive and they will help you decide on details for your service if needed. Only bad thing is parking lot is tiny. Don't recall seeing any handicap parking, there was a curb to step over which mom had trouble with. Overall I still recommend this place 100%. Real connections made here between us and the nail tech (H) and that's all I will divulge about her name. She along with her colleagues made my mother's nails beautiful and recently she made mine pretty in red for the holidays. They all take their time and I have never felt rushed. I saw this shops lovely Instagram with super nice designed nails so I decided to try them out. I was there on Friday afternoon at 2pm, I had some gel nails )the dip powder, had it removed and then applied an overlay on my real nails. The acrylic overlay looked lumpy! Nothing like the pic. I asked for a basic design and the girl attempted to do a design I saw on their IG and it looks horrible. Two Of the designs looked like my 5 yeaR old painted it. Quality was not there. Then they charged me $72!!! Said it was for take off, overlay and designs which were so bad I'm going to take it off today. So now it's Day 2 and all the stones fell off, the "matte" polish they used looks dirty and scratched up. I'm so disappointed!! Save your money!! These people are scam artists , not nail artist! It was clear that girl who did my nails did not have the skill level as whoever pics they used on shops Instagram page! Very disappointed walked in 2 days in a row now an they tell you the wait is over 1hr 30 mins not one person is sitting in the salon. Very dirty looking inside not nice at all. A lot of there work is rushed. I spend lots of money on my nails an toes talking 200$plus there tending to cheap customers with budgets. Let's be honest they do a lot junk nails being there on the middle of Essex a lot ratchets around. Lost me as a customer. Unfortunately I didn't actually get to experience the services here so my review is for the overall experience of finding this salon/phone communication with whomever was there. The first time I drove by I completely missed it. I called the place to confirm that they were in fact still open and to try and figure out where they were located. The woman on the phone was really rude and offered no help in directing me to the location. What she should have said was "we're right next door to the garage with about 500 cars in the parking lot." I can only assume that this is a place that houses cars that have been impounded/legally seized. They fill the entire parking lot to the point where you don't realize that it's actually a space you can enter. There was also a cop in civilian clothes w a badge on his chest walking around and checking the cars. #classy Not to worry, this would have not deterred me from going in-- unfortunately there were no available parking spaces. By far the worst nail experience I have ever had. Do not waste your time or money at this salon. Not only are you going to wait forever, you're going to get talked about by the owner, listen to gossip, be interrupted the entire time, and get the crappiest nail job you'll ever get. I've given the salon too many chances because it's close to my house. I got a really good set of nails by the tech named Amy. She is really great when the owner Gam is not interrupting her every five minutes. Jen did my nails this time and I wanted to cry as soon as I got a chance to check them out. I don't know about anybody else but $40 doesn't just grow on trees it's hard earned. I'm not the type of person to jump up and down and make a scene, however I do normally say something. I've had issues with the salon before,the nail techs have no idea what they do wrong. You think these girls have been doing nails long enough they should know how to do them by now. The owner does not care, I've said something to her in the past. The owner looks you up and down from the minute you walk in the door and blatantly talks about you while you're in the chair. All I asked for was a simple fill in with gel polish and coffin shaped nails (which they charge you extra for) At the end when you're clearly upset the owner Completely ignores you. My mom has been going to this salon for years and has recently stopped because of the terrible service as well. She fixed my shape, evened off the length filled the pink and the white and repaired a break now invisible. She is really good and makes you feel comfortable. My nails have been restored. Let me just start with if anybody goes here ask for GAM she's the one whos the artist on Instagram and who is amazing.. this isn't about her id give her 5stars. BUT ima talk about the other two girls first off I asked for short short nails that aren't Square that go into a small coffin like nail shape and just gel paint not dip powder ! gel ombré red and black for one child then same for other blue and black for other child.. they wanted $70 a piece for there's and they both looked HORRIBLE!!!! Gam did mine and she asked for $90 which was worth it cause mine are long ombré acrylic color dip and we waited 3 hours for them to charge me $230! Ridiculous never again !!!! read more

Nothing really spectacular, my nail technician was oddly very rough when she was filing and shaping my nails and broke a little skin. Felt like they were in a rush. Also, my friends nail technician used a base coat instead of a top coat resulting her nails to look like the picture below. It's not terrible, but I'd rather spend more money on a more luxurious nail salon. read more

I will not be coming back here. My nails are uneven, the gel polish is literally fading after 4 days and my nails look like I need a fill in already. The prices. It's the worst money grubbing scheme that I've seen in a salon. Not only is everything $3 more for debit or credit but then they charged us an extra fee PER SERVICE. That included, my fill in (fee), my polish (another fee), second polish (another fee). I've been going here since high school. The owner has steadily grown this business and the services she offers. She does a great job managing the constant flow of people in her salon, including the sometimes difficult customers. I usually only get a manicure, pedicure, and my eyebrows and they always do a great job. Pat is amazing. I also love Maribelle, Amy, Jenn and of course Gam. Love this place and can't say enough good stuff. Sometimes the wait is long, but like I said they do a good job so they're highly sought after. read more

Great pedicure! Nice little extras to their experience a lot of other salons don't have. Tables for the chairs, little cushions to rest your ankles on during scrubs, and a lot of packages. Very relaxing. read more

I wanted to like this place because they got me right in for a gel manicure and it did look good when I left, but the gel started chipping less than a week later. I have never had gel chip under three weeks ever. In addition, when I got there the woman who did my nails said she had to run across the street to get change, which was code for smoking. I have to say that I am so happy I found this nail salon on Yelp. I had a bad set of pink/white done at another nail place (nail Trix in Canton - a lady by the name of Vicky did them) and my nails were horrible for two weeks. I was trying to be inconspicuous in hiding my nails after visiting Nail Trix. That led me to look online and happened to run across Tip&Toes. GAM gave me the nails I wanted and she did it quick. No complaints with the mani/pedi. My complaint is that they don't have appointments, its first come first serve, which would be fine unless you're outside standing at the door waiting for them to open, go in, then get loud nasty people who mug you saying they were there before you, sitting in their cars. The nail service is great. However, they have now changed their policy to take cash only and to charge $3-5 extra per service if you use a credit or debit card. There is no posting and we were not made aware of this until we were paying. When I am already spending over $100 and you want to gouge me for another $15 for using a card? Even with good service? Awful ! Would never recommend. Have been here twice to get my eyebrows waxed. First time they did alright and the price was reasonable. So I came back about a month later to get the same service. This time they did a terrible and fast/half assed job and raised the price for myself but not my friend who has been multiple times to get the exact same service. Today 1/22/17 I walked in at 3:35PM to get my eyebrows waxed because I like to give the benefit of the doubt and it's a convenient location for me. Their "OPEN" sign was lit and clearly ON. But as I walked in one of the nail techs (who was with a customer) yelled to me "CLOSED!" I said "I'm sorry, closed?" And her response was "yes! Closed at 4!" As they turned off the "OPEN" sign in front of me. So needless to say I will NEVER go back and would never imagine recommending this shitty business to anyone ! read more
