I took my wedding dress to Nailes for alterations that included hemming the length, taking in the sleeves/bust, and sewing in bra cups. They did a horrible job. It was unwearable after their alterations. The top of the dress was falling off of me, the bust came out at least 6 inches from my body, the bra cups had 4 little stitches on each corner instead of being sewn in appropriately. Instead of cutting the lace sleeves and sewing them appropriately, they just rolled the inside seam up and sewed it together leaving a large bulge going the length of the sleeves. The hem had strings hanging from it and was still too long. All of this for $700!!!! We ended up having to find another tailor that could fix it quickly the day before my wedding. I don't recommend taking anything to this place. They overcharge and underperform. They nearly ruined my wedding. read more

A HUGE thank you to Naile for the beautiful alterations on my bridesmaid dress! I went to Naile two weeks ago to get a bridesmaid dress altered for a wedding that I will be in next month. Naile was incredibly kind, listened to what I wanted done, and made further suggestions on what would look best for me. It only took a week for the alterations to be made, which I was expecting a longer wait period. I called to scheduled an appointment for alternations on my fiancé's suite for our wedding. The woman I spoke with was very kind and accommodating. I told her we are getting to this task late in the game and she helped scheduled an appointment at our earliest convenience. My fiancé arrived early and the sweet lady (owner?) lead him into the fitting room. After a quick assessment she declared that the suite fit him perfectly and she didn't recommend any alterations- whoever she would press his suite free of charge!!! We were pretty taken back by her honestly and compassion! Highly recommend and will return with more business in the future!! read more

Not a good experience. Was given an estimate for a hem and letting out a wedding dress for my daughter. Also, went in for an estimate for my dress. This was ten weeks before her wedding. Went back a month before wedding and daughter's dress was not altered in the chest area and my dress was still tight. My daughter was told that the estimate given to her was incorrect and she needed to pay an additional $400.00 to let her dress out. We gave her time to fix this and went in two and half weeks before her wedding only to have my daughters wedding dress fixed with an elastic piece with sequin. The buttons were crooked and her dress is ivory and the elastic was white. My dress was also not fixed and was still tight. Needless to say we paid for the work and were forced to go a business nearby that is currently working on the dresses and should be ready this coming week. I went back to Nailies to let her know about the issues that she did not address and told her I wanted some of the money back. She initially backtracked but she did give me a portion of the refund. She nearly ruined my daughter's wedding. I would not recommend this business for any alterations. read more

"Once you find a good tailor, you must never give his name away - not even under the threat of bodily harm." ...So, I guess I am breaking this rule. Yelp, you've been good to me, and I guess the secret is out anyway, so no real harm is done. Nailes is terrific. It was like going to visit my grandmother, she was tutting around making sure my suit was perfect. She was very friendly, talking to me, and apparently remembered my brother, who had come in a couple days before. She was also very fair, I was there to get my shirt taken in, I thought the jacket and pants fit well but asked her to take a look and let me know if there was anything that she thought should be changed. She told me that the jacket and pants needed no alterations. She asked helpful questions, and was able to explain to me the tailor translations of the changes I was looking for. $40 for the the alterations to the shirt, plus getting the suit, shirt, tie, and pocket square pressed. read more

Nailes is an excellent tailor, very skilled. She is friendly, no language barrier and listens to the customer. She does it all (hemming, leg tapering, waist suppression, take-outs/take-ins, etc.). The pricing is reasonable for the quality produced. Most recently, her colleague (young guy in his twenties/thirties) did some work for me, great job! I've been going to Nailes for about a year. She did a nice job of hemming several dress slacks. I then brought in a suit and a another jacket to be tailored. She did the pants too short, forgot the sleeves on the jacket and the other Brooks Brother jacket which had a fringe on the bottom was pulled poorly up into a seam that she adjusted. I pointed that out to her, and she went back and fixed the 2 jackets. The bill was around $120 for 1 pants hemmed, 1 jacket hemmed, 1 jacket taken in at the back seam. I then took a pair of seersucker pants i bought at a tall shop, and then didn't get back there for 3 months. Understandably she can't hold on to items forever, but when we couldn't find them, she said maybe she had sent them to Goodwill, which she will do after 4 months. I then found them in a pile and she said they were her daughters pants. They could not have been as they had the label from the tall girl store, and they had been hemmed for a person about 5'4, and i'm 6'. They had been worn for quite some time. Do not go here for bridesmaid alterations!! Expect to pay $150 for a simple hem alteration and a single strap adjustment. Upon initial consultation she said she wanted to take my left strap up about half an inch for a better fit but the the strap was still falling off when I wore it during the ceremony. Additionally, my dress had a damaged hook & eye and she said she was going to fix it. She reattached a new hook, but there was no eye, so it that was useless! Make sure you ask the price clearly before she finalizes any card payment because she will swear she does not know how to void a transaction. After all these years of business, that's hard to believe...There are other places that will do a way better job, will be honest and upfront with you and above all be a fraction of the price! read more

I took a bridesmaid dress here for a simple alteration. Naile is very nice, hands down, a sweet older woman. However, she seems pushy and rushed and didn't really listen to what I was describing that I wanted done. She kept shushing me and basically overruling my requests with what she thought was best. It turned out that the dress was barely altered at all and was still much too baggy in the areas I had tried to explain I had wanted smaller/tighter. Naile also basically told me she didn't like doing certain kinds of alterations ("too hard") and used that to justify not altering the dress how I wanted it. I didn't have enough time to take the dress elsewhere so this was disappointing. Also, the clothes REEK of cigarette smoke. I don't know if it's the new shop she moved into that smelled like smoke, or if she actually smokes in the shop or around the clothes, but even after several dry cleaning sessions the dress still smells of stale cigarette smoke. Also, I took a few pairs of pants here in the past and she's fast, but the hems are very loose and come undone after wearing only once. It's disappointing because I want to support a local solo woman shop owner but the quality of the work and the experience is always problematic, while the costs are very high. If you need something simple and done quickly, I would recommend this shop because Naile is beyond sweet, but for anything important I would be cautious. read more

Took my daughters Junior Prom dress to be hemmed, Spring 2015. I had no referral, but googled her and found a few good reviews. We absolutely LOVED Nailes. She is extremely warm and friendly. Her prices were MORE THAN HALF less than what the dress store wanted to charge. She even offered to make a purse, handmade from the leftover dress fabric to match the dress. Nestled in with a barber shop and suit store. Came here to have our best man and my dad's suit tailored. The suit for the best man had a lot of work to be taken in and hemmed. My dads suit only needed to be hemmed for the pants and jacket. There's a small space for you to change into the clothes and she will pin in the places to make it look good with little direction (unless you have personal preference) She did a good job and the guys looked great for the wedding. Nailes is a great seamstress who is sweet and competent. She works quick so if you need something done fast she would be great for you. Her work is good, but she is VERY over priced. She charged $110 for a simple bridesmaid dress hem. I called and asked what the price of a hem was and she said she needed to see the dress. So I brought the dress in and she said I needed to try it on before she could give me a price. When I tried it on she said she needed measurements first. Finally after all the measurements she told me $110. To compare, there are 6 other bridesmaids all of which paid between $50-70 for a hem of the same dress. When I told her this, she said this is what she always charges and it is non-negotiable. Which I thought was strange because if that was her price why did she not tell me that on the phone or all the other times I asked. She also required full payment BEFORE the work was done. Looking back, I should have left at this point but I am new to the area and she had the best reviews and she already did all the measurements. She is nice, the work is good, but expect to be overcharged. read more

So amazing!! I took a gown here that I needed to get done very very quickly. I had taken it to a cleaners/alterations place before hand for my prom to get it taken in. The original place I went to took off only one hanger strap and didn't put it back on, barely took it in, and messed with a lace overlay that was supposed to be sewn down but when I got it back it wasn't sewn down anymore. Long story short they basically made it worse. I paid a lot of money for the dress and it was treated so poorly and it cost me an arm and a leg. HOWEVER I needed to wear the dress again for a pageant and I knew I couldn't go out on stage and wear the dress in the condition it was in. I took it here, she finished it in just over a week (compared to a month and a half), and when I came out of the dressing room she knew EXACTLY what I needed done before I even said anything. She could tell my dress was expensive which 1. Shows she knows what she's talking about and 2. Knew that she had to treat it with care. She has such an amazing attention to detail and you can just tell she really cares about the quality of her work and takes pride in it. No to mention she charged me less than the first place and the first place did less than she had to do. On top of that, she even threw in an entire spool of thread and a needle so if I needed to fix any loose beading I could. I highly highly highly recommend coming here for any kind of alterations. She's just so amazing not just in her quality of work but also her personality, very sweet and caring. There's not enough good things I can say about this place to do it justice! Ladies do not take your dress here! This place royally ruined my bridesmaid dresses and charged $120 to do so! My bridesmaids had already invested $300 in the dress plus the $120 that they charged, only to have to pay a true seamstress another $100 to fix the problems this place created. Very disappointed in the work and price. Instead of altering dress properly this place chose to tuck and sew very haphazardly.
