I regret leaving a poor review for this family run nail salon but the quality of the services and unsanitary conditions were so unacceptable I felt it was necessary to post about my experience. Everything was poor - from inflicting so much pain while doing a pedicure because of the length of the manicurist's own nails (she was digging her fingernail inti my skin) that I jumped, to using unsanitary tools (which were put back in a jar on the cart without being cleaned and wheeled off to the side, I assume to be used on the next person given they came out of the same jar when used on me), to using overly thick polish that just peeled off an hour and a half later . I was traveling and needed a manicure, so booked a mani/pedi here. Now I have a finger with no polish on it and no way to fix it before my next destination. Unfortunately, I'd warn people against using this nail spa, really not an acceptable standard of care or cleanliness. Hopefully they'll take this opportunity to clean up their act and provide more professional services while adhering to higher sanitary standards. read more

Awful. The man with long hair is so rude and argued with me and my sister because the newer employee didn't know to clean under the toe nails, cut the sides, and scrub the bottoms of my feet. He told me why come if I was telling them what to do. I didn't know I had to tell them how to give a pedicure. Nails 208 is one of the best salons in the Boise mall area! I love getting my nails done here by anyone. It's a clean and professional salon, everyone does their best to help each other out. The owners are good people who do try their best to fix any problems customers come in with, most of the bad reviews I see on here are people who didn't talk with the owners are just keyboard warriors with nothing better to do with their life than to leave nasty reviews on business pages without giving the owners a chance to fix it first. Last appointment of the evening. Received a full set with French tip. The nail filing was so rough my 20 min drive home my nail beds are extremely sore. I asked for square oval and the nail tech took most of my tips that were just applied so short they are barely existent. Two of my cuticles were cut. So I took my hard earned money and I paid for sore nail beds I had to take Motrin, acrylic French tip with a charge of a full set that is practically not there that took almost two hours. This is an Idaho 5 but honestly a 3 for anywhere else. My partner and I went to get our acrylics and deluxe spa pedicures for my birthday and to prepare for my sisters wedding. We were able to get a same day appointment, but honestly they didn't have the time for us and should have told us to try elsewhere. We both got simple 2 color, no designs, new set acrylic (not sculpted, no removal) on our fingers, and single color gel toes. They gave me a mimosa while I got my pedicure, but laughed at my partner when they asked for one too. (We were getting the exact same services, and both of us are in our mid/late 20s) They told me I didn't need thicker acrylic because it looks ugly, and acrylic in Idaho is stronger than Acrylic in California? I always need thicker, I put my hands through a lot and my nails break so fast if it is too thin. (They did look amazing before the extra layer, but its the practicality for me) They finally agreed to add a small layer. They rushed my filing because 3-4 scheduled appointments came in before they finished our nails. No cuts or anything bad, I can be picky with the evenness of my tips. Both of our pedicures were flooded. My partners acrylic was great, they had a good first time acrylic experience. All in all we paid $240 for all of our services and tips, so honestly it was super cheap for upgraded pedicure, gel, and new sets. Would I go back? Sure if I am in town and having a nail emergency, and cant get in with my sisters nail lady. Or if I just wanted a pedicure, and scheduled before hand so I know they will have the time. It was still better than most of the nail places I have been to in the area. read more

This is literally the best most classy and talented nail techs and salon I have ever been to! This is a brand new salon and I'm so happy that I found it online so I had to leave a review. CD did my nails quickly and beautifully very smooth. There are two nail dryers on every desk and all of the nail products are brand new because this is a brand new salon and he's been doing nails for over 21 years. I was offered water coffee and even a mimosa! Right now they have a promotion because they just opened and gave me five dollars off! They cut my cuticles back too much on 3 occasions/nails, and they told me sorry, he wasn't paying attention (which I do appreciate the honesty). What's stuck with me, though, is that he said he cut me because I'm black/have dark skin, and because he wasn't paying attention enough to notice where the cuticle ended and where healthy skin started. Honestly, while the experience was subpar, I have to give it 2 stars because hearing "I'm sorry, but I hurt you because you have dark skin/you're black" has stuck with me for months. While I expect that in other settings, I just wasn't mentally prepared to deal with a comment like that (and deal with pain directly correlated to being caused due to my skin color...). Anyway, the physical pain went away within a week; no lasting problem there. But that comment has stuck with me for months, despite how much I'd want to forget it. Needless to say, I will not be visiting here again. And I hope they learn to pay extra careful attention, if that's what's needed, to certain clients to prevent automatically hurting them while cutting their cuticles. A positive, though, was that he used his expertise to help me choose which color/design I wanted, since not everything looks good in shorter natural nails. read more

USES MMA! I had been getting my nails here done for 6 months and then went one time to a different salon for a soak off. All of the techs at the other place confirmed that it was indeed MMA that was being removed. Hide-sight, I did feel the burning sensation and notice the smell difference. I went to this salon 3/15/24 with an appointment time of 5:15pm. I didn't get her name, but her stuff said "Tam" unsure if this was her name but she sat at the desk closest to the entrance and was an older woman (age in 50's range). When building my nail with the acrylic powder, she did it so thin. Before she was done with the acrylic powder, I requested that she do them thicker because they will break when I'm putting on my shoes (just based on the lifestyle I live...I know myself). She replied "I'm done." I thought that she misunderstood me or misheard me, I repeated, "it's nothing against you, it's just my preference to have them thicker based on my lifestyle." She repeated, "no, I'm done with powder." Then told me to relax (no woman likes to hear that when she feels like she's not being listened to). After I had advocated for my preferences, this seemed to have pissed her off. Additionally, the male nail tech (he answers the phone so I assumed this was the owner) came over and talked to her. Throughout the duration of my appointment she was twisting and squeezing my fingers unnecessarily, seeming to prove that she was unhappy that I was speaking up for myself. I had asked her if the male nail tech would be available to build my nail, since she refused, the male nail tech must have heard this because he brought over a nail building polish & began to explain it to me. She used nail builder polish (2 coats) but didn't even them out or even out the shape. Before doing the design, she told me that it was going to cost me $15 extra for the design I picked out. I said "for a couple lines?!" I told her to proceed because the design was what I wanted initially. Had I known they were going to be straight lines instead of the actual design in the picture, I would have saved my $70 and went to a salon that, at the very least, listened to my preferences. I did not tip her because of the lack of professionalism, not listening to me as a client, and showing that she didn't care about the work on my nails. She kept asking "is it good?" It was extremely uncomfortable to see something wrong, but know that speaking up for myself would only be taken out on my hands/fingers or the process as a whole. Hopefully this review helps others who make appointments at this salon, request the male nail tech or the female in the back who sits by the TV. Hopefully the owner reads this and takes corrective action towards my nail tech. If she's the owner, that's wild & I hope for the business' sake, she was just having a bad day. read more

i went into this salon with my step sister with plans to get a full set. i made my appointment for 3:30 and i arrived at 3:27. to start off, i wasn't sat until 4:16. 45 min wait even after making an appointment. once i finally got sat, the nail tech and i made small talk. i could tell she is newish by how uncoordinated and easily distracted she was. once i sat down, she began taking poloraid pictures with her friend, completely disregarding the fact that a customer was sitting right infront of her waiting for her service. when she started, she opened a brand new glue bottle, cut the top off and threw it down on the desk. (while the glue was oozing from the top, after just being opened) in result of the pressure of the glue hitting the desk, glue splattered all over my face, my mouth, and in my left eye. causing me to have to go to urgent care to get medical attention. (due to the fact they didn't have a properly prepared first aid kit). i now have multiple cornea abrasions on my left eye, causing my vision to be blurred and extreme pain for up to 1 and 1/2 weeks. after the accident, they appeared to be making fun of me and the way i reacted to the injury to my step sister. then they tried to blame me saying i wiped my eye with my finger while the glue was still wet, that was not the case. i didn't touch my face at all. do not recommend. read more

Hue did a great job! I was visiting from out of town and enjoyed my gel pedi and mani!

First time to this salon. Paid 45.00 dollars for a pedicure with a sugar scrub. The nail text was Kate or Kay not sure cause she was extremely rude. It was supposed to be a spa day with my daughter and turned out to be a terrible pedicure. My nail tech didn't introduce herself to me or even talk to me. She didn't ask if my water was comfortable, she didn't look at me when talking to me. I felt as if she didn't want to be there and doing my pedicure was a big waste of her time. She used a drill to remove the gel polish, and my toe was burning from the speed she was using and when I said its hurting she looked at me and said it's hurting? Got up walked away and came back with another drill. She didn't apologize at all and just started again. I got a 1-minute scrub with the sugar and a 2-minute massage. My daughter started her pedicure 10 minutes before me and I was done 10 minutes before her. I think I was maybe a 15 - 20 minutes in the chair. This was the worse pedicure I have ever had. I would not recommend her at all. I called and spoke with the manager, he apologized profusely and said he would do my next pedicure for free next time. So I ended up switching to this nail salon after going to Ideal on Vista for a long time. I decided I would give this place a chance when I last minute needed nails and the lovely owner fit me in the same day. At my previous nail place I always felt rushed, they were always just a bit not what I wanted, and they would only last fro two weeks MAX. And usually I would have one to two break or fall off. I don't know why I thought that was normal. After switching here I go almost 4 weeks before getting a fill just because I forget- they have never fallen off or broken. I don't feel rushed at all, I get what I want (or something I didn't even know I wanted) each time. Both kim and the owner are great with acrylics and very friendly. I got a pedicure for the first time here too today and they had options for the bath and lotions and hot stones. My only complaint with this place id they don't offer a wide selection on gel polish yet. It looks like they are working up their stash as they are still new. But hopefully they will get more options soon. Oh also- remember to bring cash to tip! They prefer that:) read more

I was really disappointed in my experience here. First and foremost, the professionalism was not existent. My nails tech had brought a friend with her who sat through my entire appointment, constantly distracting the nail tech with their drama and sitting right next to me. They also both vaped throughout my appointment...no thank you. My nails came out looking like a $30 set when I paid $75 plus a 20% tip. I truly believe that this might have just been one weird/bad day...but please do not let your employees continue to act like this with the prices you are charging. read more

I had been struggling to find a decent nail salon that doesn't over charge for services (many places are $45 for a regular pedi yikes). I came here and loved my service, the salon is very clean and the workers were very sweet.
