I was trying to have a mother daughter day and so we thought it would be a good idea to go get our nails done. We had booked an appointment for 12:30 and got there 5 mins. early. We waited and by that time it was 12:36 and we thought that it was just a little delay so we waited some more and we finally asked when we would be able to go and they said in 2 mins. but we ended up waiting another 25 mins. and so we finally told her that we had to go. They obviously double booked us. They didn't even apologise. SO DISRESPECTFUL!!! read more

I literally feel like they slapped me in the face. I have been going to Ocean nails for years, since they opened. The last few months I've had inconsistent results. I have always expressed how I like my nails, thicker with a pronounced Apex. I have shown photo examples multiple times. One appointment they'll be awesome, the next appointment they'll be thin and flat. It's pretty hit or miss. Yesterday I had them done, several of them were flat and thin, I sent a DM asking if they could fix the flat ones for me. They said no one could make me happy (I have NOT had an appointment with all their techs) and they will no longer do my nails. Basically, the inconsistent results are my fault and asking them to be fixed is inconvenient and annoying. PS: Make sure you ask about prices. I literally found out yesterday that I've been paying an extra $5 every appointment because they're stiletto shaped. I was never told that stilettos cost more. PSS: If you want your appointment on time make sure you schedule at 10am when they open, otherwise you're likely to sit there for a while, whether you have an appointment or not. Consistency is so important when you're spending $55 before tip. read more

This place is absolutely horrible! Do not go there. I waited for over 30 minutes for my 12 o'clock appointment and walked out. I was falling asleep. I was late for my next appointment. It cost me for a cancellation on my next appointment. They said absolutely nothing nor never apolozied. Instead the man who was helping his young child screaming cry walked in the back ignored me and said nothing I understand having young children but at least say something after 30 minutes of leaving me in the lobby. This place is awful. As another commenter also said, they are never on time. I always have an appointment and they are always 30+ minutes behind, the last time I went I walked out after waiting 30 min. The time before that I waited 40 min and then wasn't even with the person I scheduled with. She didn't speak to me the entire appointment and didn't do a good job. Will never go back. read more

Loan does my nails! She's the sweetest and she's fast. I show her a picture of what I want to get and she does her thing! I absolutely love her. I've allowed one other gentleman to do my nails as well he did a wonderful job, and was very detailed, he just didn't talk at all. Highly recommend Ocean's. I went to this salon for quite a few years and most of them did great. The owners husband did my nails and I ended up with a nail infection that took an entire year to heal. I cannot prove that this was the cause of my nail infection but I had been getting nails for over 30 years without this ever happening. Their female performed pedicures were always excellent except the males always had to watch their sports programs instead of paying attention to the clients feet. read more

I feel scammed. I called asking if the did acrylic overlay & someone said yes. I booked an appointment for 6. I was told that acrylic overlay isn't possible on my natural nails so tips were required i specifically asked for no tips. I paid 55 for border line natural length acrylics with a flower that looks like a child drew it. Also he wasn't even allowing the gel to fully cure because it was getting close to closing time. Not only was our request ignored, they were totally unfriendly the entire time and refused to help match colors or accommodate in any way. I am always pleased when a nail salon can get you in right away with no appointment! Ocean nails did a great job with getting me in so quickly. But the gel polish was thin, and not strong enough. I am writing this review a week after getting my nails done there and have had a few nails peel back already. Which in the past gel polish will chip, but this gel seemed softer than most. It was quick service, but a lot of polish got on my fingers. I did enjoy this salon and it was only $20 for the gel polish. But maybe next time I would get a different nail tech! But the overall atmosphere of the salon was relaxing and didn't smell like a nail salon which was wonderful! I enjoyed my experience at Ocean Nails, and they have something good going on! But hopefully it will improve with more practice! read more

Found this review in my app notes that I had posted on their Facebook back in 2018. Still haven't been back. Never will. I was absolutely humiliated at this salon on Sunday. My coworker had made an appointment for 3 people at 12pm. I arrived exactly at 12 pm so I could pick out my color and guarantee the 3 spots. She had me sit in the waiting area. My thought at the time was that they were just waiting for my 2 coworkers to arrive. Meanwhile 3 women walked in for pedicures and they were immediately sat. There were bout 4 workers there doing absolutely nothing, started working on the ladies pedicures while I was still sitting in the waiting area. My 2 coworkers arrived late, and they were also immediately sat, after we had told them there was an appointment for 3 people. I'm still in the waiting area when (I'm guessing the owner), comes up to me and asks me to come back, they're busy. I've heard about racism in nail salons, but I honestly never thought I would experience it first hand. Where as my 2 white coworkers who were late, got sat immediately, as well as the ignorant bitches that kept asking for discounts on their pedicures. Take your money elsewhere, this salon IS NOT FRIENDLY TO DARKER SKINNED WOMEN! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THEM. I HAD TO DO THE WALK OF SHAME OUT OF THE SALON WHEN I WAS THE FIRSR CUSTOMER! If I could give this place no stars I would. Had to go back to try and fix them and they gave me the same girl when I asked for someone else to fix them. Charged me 50$ for the length but ended up cutting them shorter because of how uneven they were. I wanted coffin and they are round. Completely rude when I asked for a refund or to at least fix them I'm a nail tech myself and the way she did it was completely incorrect and ended up having to fix them myself. Generally a very nice job for *this type* of lower priced salon. They have the cleanest bathroom ever seen, which makes me feel a touch more confident on the sanitary habits here - I only get my toes done. They generally play cool music, Which is unusual for a salon like this. Sometimes classic rock love ballads like the Eagles, or 80's hits, or real classical music like Beethoven. Not musak. Occasionally on the weekends, The owners young children are around and while they aren't loud or obnoxious, if you catch your eye they will talk your head off. I like kiddos but I don't bring my son when I'm getting a pedicure because....shhhhht! Interestingly, I decided I like a certain technician and since I requested him it's like they they won't *let* me have him anymore. It is was odd. I had him all the time but 2 times now I've asked for him (made an appointment earlier in day and confirmed) they've just ignored this request. Make sure you look at the menu before ordering. They have an $18 pedi that is only lacking the 10 minute massage part. They still do the scrub & the lotions. And let's face it. "Massage" in the mass pedicure walk-in setting isn't all it's cut out to be. Overall friendly and clean. read more

I went to get my nails done on Sunday, 6 of them chipped 2 days later so I had to go back and get them fixed then 2 days later the acrylic started peeling off of my fingernails after i got them fixed. Acrylic or any gel that you get done at a salon should absolutely NOT peel off of your fingers and should last longer than a week. I will never go back and I will tell everyone I know to stay far away from this salon. read more

I came here yesterday for a pedicure and had a good experience! I called ahead about an hour and a half and asked if they had time to do a pedicure and made a last minute appointment for myself. Right when I got there, they started one of the chairs for me and had me pick out my nail polish. I took this experience as an opportunity to catch up on some reading, so I was really only paying half-attention to the whole experience. But the fact that I wasn't distracted and was able to just kind of zone-out and relax is a good sign to me - that is what pedicures and pampering is all about anyway, right? However, here are the things I did notice: - They spend a LONG time on your foot massage. I'm guessing about 20 minutes. Not joking, I think my nail tech put lotion on my legs and feet like ten times. I ain't mad about it. - While they spend a long time on your massage, they will get you in and out fairly quick. The total time for my appointment was an hour start to finish. - Honestly, does anyone even enjoy the massage chairs that nail salons have? This isn't a dig on Ocean - it's kind of a truth I've observed at EVERY nail salon I've ever been to. A chair that massages you is fun in theory, but it never is as enjoyable as you'd think. And heavens to Betsy if you put it on the "flap" setting while you're sipping on coffee, you'll end up spilling it everywhere! All that to say, I turned off the chair after a three minute attempt to enjoy its massage settings. Okay, rant over. - Price was fair and comparable to what you pay at other salons, $25. - My one critique is that they don't include cleaning up your cuticles in their regular pedicure. You have to pay for one of their upgraded pedicures to get that, and I just thought that was kind of silly. - Atmosphere is nothing out of the ordinary, just what you'd expect a nail salon to look like! read more

There customer service was crap and there nail techs argued with customer. They refused to do what the customer wanted and said they don't do that when another customer next to them was getting it done. The nail tech supposedly didn't know how to use the gel dipping powder and told customer that what she was asking for couldn't be done when nail tech was literally removing what customer wanted. I would never return here and would never recommend this salon. I paid for the extras and was rushed through and only received half of the extras but was still charged for the full service. Very disappointed. I was referred to this salon. Granted, I did not have an appointment, but then they were not busy either. I went in last Sunday. An older tech did my nails. She does not speak English, or if she does, few words. She did not do a thing to my cuticles...did not push them back, did not use the small snippers on the jagged edges, did not use the cuticle oil. Therefore, I got a crappy manicure that is already showing signs of wear as my nails are growing and you can, after 5 days, see where the gel polish ends. I will not be back and I will not refer Ocean. Sorry, but any professional nail tech should not need to be told to treat my cuticles. I wish I had not given her a $5 tip (what I usually give my other tech, sometimes more). Please, if you need a great place, try Deluxe on Eagle Road. I am going back there. read more

I went in yesterday for a simple fill and some guy sat down and started butchering my nail with a Dremel cuz he had no idea what he was doing! Why he was waiting on customers is beyond me. So then they decided to switch text but didn't tell me so I sat there for at least 10 minutes being totally ignored which was the second thing that ticked me off. I have gone to this nail salon about 3 times. Each time for a fill and gel polish. They fill with very little acrylic and gel polish is always baked to my skin. I have to go home and reshape them and "rub" the polish off. The last time I went, I had a male manicurist that cut multiple cuticles badly with the drill and the file. I have since found a different nail salon, it is a little further but they offer great service and they actually listen to what I want. My appt is not rushed through or painful. read more
