I had high hopes for this location. I made an appointment for myself and my friend. I wanted a gel manicure and my friend wanted a full set (acrylic). My mani didn't include ANY of the basics that come with a manicure. I was done in less than 15 minutes. My friend who got a full set was done within 35 minutes. They rushed and did not do a good job. It's not even tolerable. My gel started lifting in day 3. To add insult to injury, there was no air conditioning on and the pricing was outrageous. They charged us more than the posted pricing. Yelp requested a review of Pro Nails, so I don't know if it's Pro Nails at Milwaukee and Fairview Avenues in Boise, but if it is, I think they are great. Unlike many Vietnamese nail salons, everyone speaks English and will engage in conversation with their customer instead of just talking in their language among themselves. I jut left there after receiving a mani/pedi with my mother. It was her first time and the woman she had took very good care of her and kept us laughing the entire time. However, I got the worst French tip I've ever gotten. One nail is smuggled and has a bunch of bubbles, while most of the others are not evenly curved and messy. My cuticles definitely needed more work. The girl who worked on my feet did an okay job but you could tell that she was new. Both my fingernails and toenails had hangnails and random jagged edges. I was very disappointed with my service there and it was not worth the $70 +tip for to pedis and a mani. However, I would definitely go back if I had an appointment with who appeared to be the owner/manager but none of the other workers. read more

I've been going to Pro Nails for two years and have never been happier with my nails and toes. Vi does a wonderful job on my nails and gives me great advice when I'm deciding what I might want to do different. Tommy does my pedicure and remembers to cut my nails short just as I like. My friend was in town visiting and we walked in off the street. They took us to chairs immediately and were very nice. I loved my technician a lot. Thai was the perfect amount of chatty and gave a great hand massage. My nails look great and the price was right. I'll definitely be back. My only complaint is the Cash Only sign was small and hidden, but thankfully they have an ATM inside! Also, a personal pet peeve of mine is when they don't get every side of every nail. Went into the store to have my nail polish changed due to the fact I had just had them done at another nail shop the previous week and the Gel was already peeling off. Waited twenty minutes and another woman came in (no she did not have an appointment) ten minutes later that woman was being helped and my friend and I were still waiting. Then one of the ladies told us to come back in the morning because she wouldn't be able to do my friends nails that day. Even though 30 minutes earlier she said that she would. As we were getting up to leave she then tried to make us stay after we said we would go somewhere else. I'm not sure where these people attended school, but a manicure with a change of polish on a natural nail. Should take longer then 9 minutes and doesn't take 2 people to do. Their nail polish was cheap and sticky, causing lumps and clumps throughout my nails. I could have painted my nails with my left foot, and got a better result. If you're trying to do something nice for yourself, because you don't generally spend money on yourself. Don't go to Pro Nails for the " Spa" experience. I give this place a firm F. This is the best mani/pedi place EVER!! With the pedi they give an amazing leg massage, offer to add a flower and a sugar scrub. They take their time and ensure your nails are filed etc. The pedi lasts a min of 2 mo! I get compliments all the time of them. The Mani is the same! Great care with your nails and great nails that last a min of 2 mo! I've been going here for well over 10 years and LOVE this place. I just received a Gift Card from my son to go somewhere else. I recently moved to Idaho from California and went here for a pedicure since it was close to my house and after sitting in the chair without anyone coming over to me for about 10 minutes a man comes over to do my toes. After he takes off my polish he starts going to town on my toenails with a cuticle trimmer, mind you my toenails are already short and he just made them shorter without asking me if I wanted them trimmed. He also shaved my calluses without asking me first and the callus shaver did not come from a sterilized container mind you. In fact I don't think any of their tools had been sterilized (gross). After he butchered my nails he continued to attempt to trim my cuticles and managed to cut me in the process. After he used half the lotion container on my legs and feet, he began to paint my toes, literally. I had chosen a dark polish and he did not use a base coat which I have never seen in the 10 years I have been getting pedicures and he carelessly painted my toes without covering the whole nail, but somehow managing to get it all over my toes themselves. After he schlepped a top coat on my toes and put my sandals back on he disappeared into the back room never to be seen again. It was by far the worst pedicure experience I've ever had and definitely not worth $25 they charged me. I will not be going back to this place ever again and only gave them one star as a requirement. read more

The first three times I have gone to Pro Nails on Milwaukee I was pleased. This last time was horrible. If it weren't for the fact I needed to go to work I would have stayed and had them fix my nails. You would think 2.5 hours would be plenty of time to get a fill, gel polish, and make it to work. Boy, was I wrong. Not only are my nails different shapes, the gel polish is not even, some places do not even have polish and all different lengths. I was shocked to see negative reviews! I have had my nails done for over 25 years most of that time with the same technician. Now I have moved clear across the county and was looking for a new nail technician. My sister went to pro nails and JoJo did a beautiful job. Because of family obligations with an elderly sick father I have had no time to have my nails done. The only day I had to have my nails done before I went to a wedding was Friday, January 1. Unbelievably, Jo Jo accommodated me without any surcharge. I am extremely careful about who I have do my nails since a lot of places cut back on cleanliness etc. My husband happens to be a deputy attorney general and has been involved with the occupational health board on cases addressing just this issue so I am very much aware. Not only were they extremely clean and aware of fungal issues etc., Jo Jo's technique was beautiful and is more of an artist that a technician. The end result was beautiful and I will definitely be going there now. This review was totally unsolicited and I typically do not take time to write reviews, unfortunately. But when I went to get the number and saw that negative reviews I felt compelled to share my experience. You cannot please all the people all the time but for those of you that rely on or are influenced by reviews, I hope that you read mine also. As a postscript, another sister is going there and we are going to take my elderly father there because he has very dry skin and has a lot of hangnails both on his feet and hands and Jojo said that she has elderly clients and to bring him there and she will be very careful and take the time needed to take good care of him... I do not doubt that in the least. So if I am willing to take my beloved father there, I will hope that you will consider going there yourself if you are looking for a nail technician. I will provide an update after my sister and my father have their services. As for the other technicians... I do not have information on them... And I do know from time to time every nail salon has poor technicians... I just know that JoJo is excellent and I wholeheartedly recommend her. read more
