I booked reservations for 2 online, secured what I thought were appointments, but upon arrival we were told we would have to wait (an additional 45 minutes), our appointments were given to someone else. If not for a busy Saturday, we might have gone elsewhere. The atmosphere was loud, the nail tech conversations around us were very inappropriate and the up-charge for services was shocking, not at all what was posted online or on the in-house menu. If you value the health of your nails, go somewhere else. I wish I had seen the Yelp reviews and realized they are playing games with location instead of only seeing new Google reviews for Westlake prior to going to here. A group of four of us had plans to get nails done for a wedding and from the moment we walked in they were unaccommodating. My sister arrived a couple minutes prior to our agreed upon arrival and they whisked her away without letting her wait for us even the couple minutes we were away. She called me when they wouldn't let her wait so I know how far away I was. I was in parking lot! The next in our group arrived a minute after that, they refused to let them sit together and again refused to let them wait the few minutes until the rest of the group arrived. One in our group didn't want color and they wouldn't take no for an answer just kept pushing the color book towards her. I was assisting my grandma and again they refused to let me sit near my grandma so I could help her. As for the manicure itself, it was the most rushed I have ever had. She piled on the gel so thick it was lumpy and uneven. The color selection for a sheer skin tone was nonexistent as apparently they only had a single one that they used for all French manicures. It did not match my skin well and was very pink and opaque. To add injury to insult whatever they put in the gel polish is impossible to remove. I have been a licensed cosmetologist for almost 10 years, so I know how to remove gel, but I have never had so much trouble getting any gel off. It's like they used pure super glue. My nails are destroyed and it's still not all off. My nails will take months to recover. And this was supposedly a normal gel manicure with an OPI color, no extensions, dip, acrylic, hard gel etc. I wish I could go back in time and not go here. read more

At approximately 3pm it wasn't busy the ladies is named Tiffany she was very friendly but her skills lack a lot she rushed through my appointment Didn't clip my toe nails straight... hurt me while cutting my cuticles Big Ouch many times over wanted to cry ... She was only going to put one coat of a light colored polish after telling I wanted another she got upset because she had to leave .. When I got home I looked at my toes to see she didn't fully paint them either and I had to try and fix her mess myself . I'm new in the area and the first thing I'll say is that their prices are far too high. I just paid $62 for a basic gel pedicure and you have to pay $5 to have your old gel soaked off. I've never been to a salon where that is a separate charge and the cost of gel polish is an additional $28 to the service. That's just overpriced plain and simple. I've gotten my nails done well for less in Los Angeles, DC, Miami, etc. So, If they're going to charge such high prices, at a minimum I should've received a quality service and at least been offered something to drink.... A water, glass of champagne, a glass/cup of wine. Nothing about my experience justifies the pricing. To add onto it, while my pedicurist was very kind and sweet, my pedicure simply ISN'T well done. I had to ask for extra scrubbing off of dead skin and for pieces to be clipped off. There's still polish outside of my nail bed, she clipped one cuticle to the point of exposed skin... If I'm coming to have my nails done, I don't want to have to micromanage the process. I expect a clean job where I don't have to watch what's going on. The salon is clean and again staff were nice but there's no reason for me to come back again, especially for the pricing. I went in for a very basic manicure. The technician could not speak any English. He cut my nails with a clipper similar to a man's style. He then began to use the electric sander even though I was not getting acrylics. I tried to tell him to stop but he just kept smiling at me. As my nails are growing out, there is now a ridge across each nail, with the top part being much thinner. And as the nails are growing out, they are breaking and splitting. They are very weak. If you are black, STAY AWAY from this salon. they do not like you or want your money! they will do a piss poor job to keep you away then get upset when you're not happy with the service. i was employed at this salon for 8 months along with 2 other black girls, Tai (who is 7 months pregnant) and Brey, until they fired us thru text for no reason! most of the time they would try to throw black clients at us almost like they didn't care to even try to service them. since we started working we had been speaking up about cleanliness, quality of work, products and anything at meetings to try to make the salon smoother, i swear it was never out of control or malicious intentions! we always did what the asked us to do. DAN/DANH, the owner, had been targeting us and the receptionist who was also black, for MONTHS, until he pushed her to the point of wanting to quit, which she did professionally with a 2 weeks notice until he just told her to leave! just because we complained about how terribly he was running the salon. he would complain and whine to his older sister Tracy, the other owner instead of communicating properly with us. he is narcissistic, verbally abusive and treated us terribly and punished us for doing the same things the asian workers did. one sunday he basically told us to get out while we were waiting for Anthony to finish his client bc we had plans afterwards. meanwhile other techs can sit there after hours doing their own nails while he sits there and compliments them! CINDY/DAO gets free pedicures and full sets from SAMMI/OANH with no problem and another Cindy can come and go as she pleases but when we service each other and pay each other (like they said we could do!!) we get FIRED!! he also verbally and emotionally abused Anthony who is from South Vietnam while the rest are from North until he was crying!. half of them are NOT LICENSED, specifically SAMMI/OANH and her husband who works there on Sundays. they do not clean and disinfect their tools after using them on clients, even if they CUT PEOPLE! which i've witnessed! they use MMA monomer with a fake label on it, which is a chemical BANNED by the FDA. Sammi/Oanh never cleans the wax room she double dips from client to client and there is hair in the wax pot. she also HATES black people and having to service them and often called us "the black girls" instead of by our names, even the receptionist. they leave toe nail clippings at the pedicure stations. we had to start buying our own tools because of these things. and we had the audacity to throw them a 3 year anniversary surprise?!? UGH!! if you hate black people so much, don't employ them or take their services! we could've been saved the emotional trauma and wasted time!! very very messy salon in more ways than one, PLEASE STAY AWAY!! read more

DO NOT GO HERE. I have been here a few times and won't be returning after my last visit. Each time I've gone I made an appointment online. Upon arrival I ALWAYS have to wait at least 30 minutes. Which is ridiculous since I had an appointment. Once someone finally called me over, he was going between me and another customer. He called me over even though no one was available. Again, poor management. The nail tech I had, I could tell he just wanted to get me out of there. He was rushing doing my nails and they were shit. I told him one of the nails looked crooked and he just looked at me like I was crazy. He made them paper thin and what do you know they lasted about a WEEK and started breaking. I never write reviews but days later I'm still upset over my experience at Nails a Holic in N. Olmsted. I had a really poor experience and the tech rushed through my pedi. She didn't cut or shape my nails. The nails were painted But nothing was cleaned up or prepped so they are lumpy and bumpy ....she didn't even put on a top coat. To put it in perspective on how much she rushed through this, there was a person next to me in the middle of a pedi when I sat down. My pedi was done before the other person even had her nails painted. To top it off, I didn't want oil but she used oil anyways and I broke out in hives. It honestly looked like a child did my nails, and when the the manager was called over all he was willing to do was communicate to her that I no longer wanted my mani and just wanted to leave. I wanted to find someplace that was closer to where I live, which is near Crocker Park. This place is a bit pricey as some of the reviews have stated, although it's very clean, the tech that worked on me was highly skilled (Kathy), and they got to work on me almost as soon as I walked in the door, which was 30 minutes before my scheduled appointment. Had my nails off for 2 months, decided to get a full set at a new place. Went to Nails-A-Holic Crocker location. Had a BRAND NEW set put on end of Jan. Within a week a nail popped right off without warning. Not even pain! Just fell off. I still decided to give them a try for my fill and he charged me for the repair which I thought was crazy. But also he cut my cuticle twice, did not say sorry, I bled, and he put the dremel away without cleaning it. This is where it gets even worse. IN LESS THAN 2 WEEKS, FOUR of my nails fell right off. I was not doing anything strenuous, one time I was scratching my head, another time I was grabbing keys from my pocket. No pain, they just fell right off. I wrote the company on Facebook, they read my message and I never got a response. So today I called and asked for a manager. They claim there wasn't one there so I explained to the receptionist what happened. She offered me a 20% discount. Yes, you read that right, a TWENTY PERCENT DISCOUNT. That doesn't even cover the BS charge for gel polish. They owe me a full set in my eyes. What happened to customer service??? So I asked for a manager to call me back and I never received a call back. When we got there, they got three of us started and said someone would be with my Mom shortly (she was sitting in the seat next to me) okay no problem. 40 minutes later, they were finishing my two daughters and mine, and never even started my Moms! She finally got so frustrated she left. It was so horrible- the woman who did my nails was great- however the girl who did one of my daughters left her toes looking so weird- one big toe the nail was pointed at the tip and the other big toe was flat. They came and said sorry, people called off. That's great, but NOONE said anything to us about not being able to service all 4 of us- it was absolutely horrifying. Toro all ruined mother/daughter/grandma afternoon. At the front desk, the lady just said well it happens and we are busy. We put a deposit down- to ensure we would be together- and even then they should have let us know instead of leading us to believe all of us would get service. She just sat there ignored for 45 minutes. I of course, left in tears, and they still charged us full price for the three- I was completely shocked they had no interest in making it right. They could have called us in the morning or when we got there tell us they didn't have room for 4, we would have understood that, but instead they treated my Mom like she didn't even matter. The tech was very helpful in choosing a color, swatching the dip powder on acrylics to be sure it would come out how I wanted. But once the actual application started, it went downhill. I came in with perfectly shaped almond nails, just grown out. I asked her to trim them down and keep the shape. She struggled with the nail clippers which should have been my first sign of trouble and cut them down to unequal lengths and far rounder than I came in with. Some edges were left rough as well. The actual application was not any better. On some fingers, the dip does not extend all the way down, leaving a noticeable space of nail between the cuticle and end of the dip. Some nails are also quite bumpy, thick lower on the nail, dipping down in the middle, and thick again at the tip. My experience here got worse when I went to pay. The menu and website said dip application on natural nails was $40. When I asked why my total was $57, she showed me that they charge extra to cut and shape the nails. I have never seen any other salon charge for this and this salon did a horrible job. Not only was the actual application poor, but they charge extra for something that should be standard and do not even do that well.
