He is one of the kindest, most genuine, and hardworking people I know. He treats everyone with love and respect, and he absolutely does not deserve to be made to feel uncomfortable or judged while PAYING for a service. Making a comment about him wanting French tips because of his gender/sexuality is completely inappropriate, unprofessional, and honestly just cruel. There is absolutely nothing wrong for anyone wanting whatever makes them feel confident and happy. Your job as a salon is to provide a service and make your clients feel welcome, not make comments that shame or belittle them. This is not "just a comment." That kind of behavior is bullying, and it can genuinely affect someone's confidence and make them feel like they have to hide parts of themselves. Nobody should have to experience that, especially from people they are literally paying to provide a service. If you can't provide that basic level of kindness and professionalism to every client who walks through your doors, you shouldn't be in a customer-facing business. I would strongly encourage people to think twice before supporting a business that makes its clients feel judged or unwelcome for simply being themselves. Everyone deserves to leave a salon feeling good about themselves not embarrassed or belittled.
