Have had 2 gel manicures with 2 different and both were equally awful! The nail polish job was a mess! There was polish all over my cuticles that were never taken care of in the first place. My nails were filed so close on the sides they were bleeding. Once the polish finally was wearing off my cuticles, the polish started to chip off the tips and sides! If you are looking for a basic pedicure (which is what I wanted) this is your place. No frills, but high quality products and staff that know what they are doing. My pedicures from here last a long time, basically they grow out before they chip off. I brought my 4yo grand daughter the last time I went. She is too little to have her feet reach the foot bowl, but they trimmed and polished her little toes and rubbed a bit of lotion on her legs and only charged me $5. I have been to many different nail salons over the years, and I rarely had gel polish done...because they either painted over my cuticles or the polish was so thick it looked ridiculous. I will forevermore have Taule (pronounced "towel") at Nails by Heather do get gel polish every 2-3 weeks. She does a PERFECT job!! She's very meticulous. The gel keeps my nails strong, but it looks like regular polish and I've never had it peel. The picture I posted is my nails 2 1/2 weeks my last appointment with her. read more

I swear I don't usually leave reviews but I was really disappointed with my experience here. The staff were all really friendly, which I really appreciated, but I got an acrylic fill and it took 2 HOURS (I sat down in the chair at 3:30 and left at 5:30). On top of that, the lady charged me $45 for an acrylic fill...I have been getting my nails done since I was 15 years old and I have never paid that much for a fill. The nails look alright but I'm over all not very please with how they turned out. They are really thick and uneven in places. Like i said I've been getting my nails done for almost 10 years now and have gotten them done in places all over and I have never had a fill take this long or cost this much. This was my 3rd visit to the salon. And it was not positive. Tommy did my nails. While doing my pedicure, he made the remark that I have big legs. A pedicure is supposed to be a relaxing experience, not a chance to call someone fat. He tried to walk the comment back saying they're solid (I do boot camp 5-6 days per week). He then cut my toenails super short - I will probably have ingrown toenails as a result. He did not use the grater thing on my callouses. Then the manicure. As he's taking the gel polish off my nails with the rotary machine, he cut the side of my finger. He then proceeds to tell me that it was already like that because my nails are long and shaped square. So instead of square which is what I wanted, they're now round. I didn't really like the way he did my nails the previous time. The gel polish was rather thick, but I thought I'd give them another chance. After this experience, I will be looking for a new nail salon. The positive is that I was able to get a same day appointment, and their prices are reasonable. I don't need people cutting me down or cutting my skin though. Sorry, Heather, but your team needs to do better. read more

I went for a gel fill of my acrylic nails and after 3 days the tips were looking worn and there was a chip. I went in for repair and it took forever and within an hour one nail tip looked worn. After 2 days three of the nails were peeling. I have had my nails done for over 20 years and have never had this problem. Won't go back read more

I know you need to give a place three chances before making a judgement. Maybe I was having a bad day, or my pedicure technician was. In either case, I left sore and disappointed. It could have been because a small patch of skin was missing on the bottom of my foot from enthusiastic exfoliating, or the sore cuticle resulting from something that looked like a dremel tool, or it might have been the snip that caused profuse bleeding from my small toe. A bleeding coagulant was applied and worked in a few minutes. I paid full price, but there was no acknowledgement of my discomfort. I won't be going there again. read more

I've listened to the staff complaining about the visits from the Health Department after customers called with concerns. No longer will spend my money at this place. Did a good job. I was looking for a place to shape my nails beautifully bc everywhere I go like walmart they shape it bad. Could've been better But my nail size came out different on both hands. This was my first time here. The people who work here are very friendly but unfortunately the customer service and quality of nails was not good. I went in for a full set of acrylics and white tips. I can't speak for the pedicures or manicures because I did not have that done. When I called to make an appointment I told them exactly what I had wanted (full set of acrylics with white tips and a small flower design on each ring finger). I walked into the salon and was greeted by a nice woman who was already working with another client, because there was no one at the front desk. I said I was here for my appointment and she asked me what I wanted done. I didn't show it but this frustrated me a little bit because I already called ahead and said exactly what I was there for. She told me to have a seat in the waiting room. A little while later another woman came to take me to a table. She sat me at a table that had nail clippings on the floor and nail dust on the table. Then she told me she had to finish working on another client. I waited 10 mins at the dirty table until she came back and took me to another table (that was clean) to finally start working on my nails. She put the white tips on and then went away and a different man came and finished my nails. He worked very quickly. Maybe he didn't have as much experience with acrylics but I really didn't like how my nails turned out. They were flat and bulky. The pink flower design that I asked for turned out to look more like a red blob on my finger. I knew this place was a lot cheaper so I did not have high expectations going in. The full set of acrylics with white tips was $20. The people there were really nice but the service and quality just didn't cut it for me. Unfortunately, I won't be going back. read more

I really wanted to like this salon as it's close to my home. Fine for a pedicure..however my $45 dip manicure was a disaster and chipped on day 4. Nail tech rushed and promised me it lasted 3 weeks. When I called to request and scheduled a fix, the owner agreed, but rushed and failed to smooth the finish or check in that I was satisfied-quite rude. My nails broke again a day later. Nails By Heather is a nice nail salon in the Lakewood Ranch Area. I came in with a couple of girlfriends looking for a gel manicure and a pedicure. We came during the holidays and had about a 20 minute wait. After getting called, I really enjoyed my pedicure. They listened to what I wanted and made it relaxing but it did not go on for too long. As for my manicure, Tommy did a very nice job. The only issue I had was with the texture of my gel manicure. When I put my hands in the drying machine, it started to look wavy. When I mentioned it to my nail artist he put some droplets in the nail polish and then re-coated it. It still looks a bit wavy. I appreciate the work he did to fix it, but I wonder why it went wavy in the first place. I would definitely come back, as I'm assuming that the issue that I had was with the nail polish, not the facility. read more

Stay away!! One manicurist took down her mask as soon as her customer left. Proceeded to eat at the rear of the shop rather than going into the back room. The owner offered everyone water which is challenging to drink with a mask ion and further expose others. To top it off, my manicure displayed all her political leanings on her plexiglass which were no surprise. Keep it to yourself in a place of business! I think ill find somewhere new. I went last week for a pedicure and the guy that did it was great. I made and appointment for a acrylic fill today . The lady that was doing my nails kept pushing me to do gel on my acrylic after i told her no twice. She was extremely rough with my hands she forcefully would pull them through the divider between us. Her mask was on her chin and she coughed without covering her mouth. She didn't clean up the nail polish around the edges afterwards. It looked like my nails were done blindfolded. Then when she had me go to dry she immediately had someone else sit in my chair so idk if i was double booked or what but needless to say i wont be returning. read more

I've been taking elderly Mom and myself for monthly manicures/pedicures after the recommendation of a fellow nurse colleague for the past almost three years. I must say we've been consistently pleased by not only the warmth, professionalism and care, but the over the top consideration and gentle extra care given to my mom, who just turned 87! After a two month closure of the salon due to the corona virus shutdown, we were delighted today to see happy masked faces, physical barriers, hand washing instructions and thorough wipe down of all contact surfaces between each client. And of course, the pedicures, manicures and mom's nail painting, were simply heaven! We love Heather and all her wonderful staff! After been a loyal customer for over a year, overlooking mishaps with scheduling, and the owner's lack of courtesy, I had to finally face today's worst lack of professionalism. I arrived to my appointment 2 minutes late and I was placed in acetone nail wrappers to remove gel polish for over 25 minutes. After requesting for them to be removed I kept being told to wait. I finally couldn't handle it anymore as my fingers were burning and removed them myself. I was told I had to wait because I was "late" to my appointment. I was recommended to use my own tools, which I always bring, to remove the gel polish until someone could help me. I did it. I removed my own polish and left. Rude and cynical behavior. I have been to many, many nail salons in the Sarasota/Bradenton area over the years and have remained loyal to a select few. My co-worker told me about Nails by Heather, so of course I had to see what it was all about. This place is legit. It is family owned, and Heather and her sister are hilarious and do a wonderful job. I always get the pedicure and gel manicure, and I have never had a gel manicure last as long as I do when I get one done here. This place is an amazing value on top of the service you receive. If you are there during lunch or dinner hours, they even feed you snacks! I had the pleasure of feasting on some egg rolls when I was indulging in a pedicure. I usually go to Luxury Nails on SR 70, unfortunately they were completely full so i had gone seeing as it was extremely close to where I was. They were extremely polite when I walked in the door. I had asked for a full set, and got in right away. A man had started to work on my nails, while he was filing them they were starting to hurt. Which did not really bother me at the time. He started to put the fake nails on, they were not even fully glued on to my actual nail. He then put the powder that goes on top of the false nail, they were all bumpy when he had finished filing them and everything. Then went to do my length, which are very uneven, and lopsided! He started to do my nail polish, which im sorry to have to say this but, its just really bad, nail polish is VERY uneven! They don't look that bad far away, but up close, it's just horrific!
