This is my favorite salon. The owners are caring and hard working people. I have watched customers come in who are rude and do not understand system of making appointments versus being a walk in. Sometimes I feel that the owners communication sometime is misunderstood because of language barrier but I believe if you show them decency and respect they are more than respectful and caring to you. I myself am in the customer service industry and am horrified by how customers treat people who are working hard for their business. I love this family and their work speaks for itself. read more

Not a very friendly nail salon with extremely rude owners. I made an appointment while out of town for the following day and when I arrived the owner informed me my appointment was the day before. I didn't argue and tried calling her back to resolve the issue, and they blocked my calls. read more

Having read the previous review regarding the rudeness of the personnel at Master Nails I could not agree more. I have been going to "Hilary", the wife of Thomas, and co-owner of the salon for many years. Her hostility has been tolerated by me because her manicures are good. That being said, she has terrible manners, grabbing at your hands, and pushing them away. The only words spoken are gruff. A friend of mine who went to their previous salon for years and years was blacklisted by Hilary for no apparent reason. Today I experienced the same inexcusable behavior. I arrived at my scheduled appointment exactly 2 minutes late (per my Apple watch). Hilary had someone sitting in her chair, and told me because I wasn't there she had taken a walk in. Never have I missed a scheduled appointment. Many times, without complaint, I have waited more than 15 minutes for her to finish another client. When I asked her why she took someone else she barked, "you have to be here 5-10 minutes before your time". I asked when I could reschedule, and she said, "when I'm done with her". That didn't work for me so I rescheduled for later in the afternoon. Being held up at work, I tried calling two hours before to let them know I would have to reschedule. Long story short, they had blocked my number, and when I had a friend call she was told to tell me, "to find another salon". I'm sure if I had gone for my appointment without finding this out, they would have "thrown me out", as they did to my friend years ago. This is the most unprofessional demeanor I have ever witnessed in the service industry--they are just plain miserable! If I could give zero stars I would. I just moved to town and hoped this would be my new salon. I usually only write good reviews but do not waste your money here. VERY unfriendly and awful service. No one spoke a word to me, I was pointed to the colors and then to the chair. Not sure if the girl doing my pedicure has ever done one before but she shouldn't. I'm leaving with crooked, jagged toe nails and dead skin..... the only difference from when I walked in is my nails are shorter. I left before they painted them and was still charged full price and was never asked what was wrong or how they could correct it. Don't bother coming to this dingy unwelcoming shop, it's empty so obviously no one else does! read more

My family and I have been going to Mai and Thomas' salon for over a decade. Always friendly, clean and sanitized environment, great job with nails and waxing. The only problem is when I just walk in and they are busy, I just say I am happy to come back later. I honestly have NO idea where all of this negativity comes from. Never had even a fraction of the issues people are saying here and its been nearly 15 years. So I will let you decide if it is the business or "customers" causing the problems. read more

This was 1st manicure. After being in house for 3 months. I Never had FUNGUS in my life, 56 yrs old. It was rainy afternoon want to give locals some business. Two weeks later FUNGUS started, Very sore nail & discoloring underneath my Nails all 10.. They had prehistoric nail lite box with all utensils thrown in plastic box, very unsanitary. I went to Master Nails after purchasing Nonyx for Nail Fungus, All I wanted was to be reimbursed $30 due to I knew exactly where it came from. PLUS it's not about money it's about SMART Business, will be contacting State Dept of Cosmetology.. It about Principle of them Taking Response ability.. This Fungus will take MONTHS to be Cured... I have been to Master Nails several times now, and to be fair, the woman that does the fills does a great job. However, it does not excuse her blatant rudeness and nasty demeanor. She is absolutely horrible when it comes to 'customer service.' Simply put, I haven't experienced any civility thus far. There is no welcome, no smile, no conversation while she works, snapped replies to any questions I had, no explanations of services when asked and if I did press something, she made me feel stupid for asking. In short, the woman is a bully. So if you don't mind being treated like something nasty on her shoe and are willing to pay for the 'privilege' of getting your nails done, this is the place. Personally, I work in the service industry all day long, and coming to her store should be relaxing and enjoyable. It's not, and as it's an expensive luxury I treat myself to once a fortnight, I'm done at Master Nails and will take my hard earned dollars elsewhere. read more
