I'm a long time customer of Nails by Kim and although I'm down for people leaving a review about their experiences as a consumer, it's difficult to read a negative review that you know is for another salon. It's also difficult to read someone say they are black and was treated differently, because it's a very serious accusation. So I personally want to focus on just those two reviews. Let me start off by saying all my comments are my comments and the truth as I know it. I've been going to Nails by Kim for over 5 years and was looking at the negative reviews. I just couldn't believe seeing the negative reviews. Then I noticed that one said a guy named Ben worked there and the salon was under new management...loll...that is the other salon in the same shopping center that's right across the way. There's no one named Ben who has ever worked at Nails by Kim that has ever been there in my past five years of service received there and Nails by Kim has never been under new management since I've been going there. I'm really not understanding why the young lady would say if you're black don't go there, because she was told they weren't going to be able to do her nails that day due to pre scheduled appointments by other consumers. That's normal business practice and sometimes that happens. Even I've come in there on several occasions without scheduling an appointment and was told their slots were full by people who have appointments and I need to come back another day or schedule an appointment. I promise you, it is Not discrimination. It Is a normal business practice. It's a small salon. Long time customers like myself, keep coming back; we know how kind and professional the ladies are. We set appointments to get our nails done. So it may appear that no one is waiting, but I can comment for sure that those time slots are filled if they say it's filled. My personal experience is that my nails last a long time until the next time I need to redo it. I'm impressed that I can show a picture of how I want my nails to look and they are able to do it. No place is perfect, but I've never had a complaint to this point. read more

My daughter and I came here a few days before Christmas and they were pretty busy. We were walk-ins, so we didn't mind waiting. We both got shellac manicures and they turned out cute! The nail techs were nice, and even though they were in a bit of a hurry to get to the other clients, our nails didn't appear sloppy or rushed. There were a few things I guess I could nitpick about, like my daughter's thumb nails were pretty different in length, but overall our experience was a good one and considering how busy they were, we honestly didn't mind too much about the little things. read more

Let's talk about disgusting. I come in for a pedicure and requesting pricing for pedi with gel polish. I'm quoted $25 + $10 fine no worries. Not really busy. First time here so im checking out the place and it's not immaculately clean but not inherently dirty. So I proceed to sit down and put feet in bowl and attendant brings out her gear to do the pedicure. I notice her pumice stone is used and all tools look dirty. So I ask for a new/unused pumice stone and I'm told I can buy one. Okay what's the cost $5. No problem. I say that's fine I'm not for you using a used pumice stone on my feet. I'm then told I can go ( as in I can leave). All because you want to do unsanitary ish at a salon. I'll gladly take my coins elsewhere. Don't go to this nail show if you're black. I walk in on a Friday day it's 4:40. It's two people working and and it's only lady waiting to get her nails done. I sit down and they tell me 2 people are coming later for an appointment so I can't get service. I told them it's okay I'll wait and they said no it's okay. You can go. All I did was sit down and look at the menu. Nothing else. Definitely won't be going back to get my nails done. read more

Customer service is amazing--all the girls here are really sweet. I came in 45 minutes before they closed and they were still amiable and took their time getting my nails done. Ask for Cherry! She did an amazing job with my shellac manicure. And the best part--only $25 so I can actually manage a good tip without breaking the bank. I had a horrible experience here, after having a decent one maybe almost a year ago. I see another review saying the place is under new ownership. Maybe that explains it. I came in for a mani pedi and the woman who did my manicure actually hurt me, multiple times. She cut so deep into the sides of my nails that several of my fingers hurt even a day later to the point where typing is difficult. I feel pressure in many of my nails, like they were torn out. They look pretty bad too and will take awhile to heal. I feel badly writing this, and I'm really not *THAT* picky usually. But this was just awful. I shouldn't come out of a manicure in active pain. Not to mention my nails look awful and will for awhile because of how badly they were cut into. Don't go here. It's borderline dangerous. read more

The best pedicure and manicure I've EVER had! I came in on a Tuesday at 530p. I was the only one there which was fine by me! I got talked into the Deluxe Pedicure with hot stones, hot towel, leg and foot massage and hot lotion treatment on my feet. All that on a massage chair with soothing music playing on the stereo and scenic images and video on their television. They took their time! I left at 630p so refreshed and I felt relaxed. They use a new packet of nail tools on you EVERYTIME (you get to take home the nail file, stone and scrubber!). I've gotten a fungus before from a place with questionable sanitary practices. No question about sanitary here! They open the new packet right in front of you. The manicure was standard but the massage wasn't! It was worth the $14 all by itself! I type all day at work and this 15 MINUTE massage on my hands was exactly what I needed! The ultimate pedicure costs $50 (I paid $45 because it was on special) and the manicure was $14. $59 total for my visit minus tip. Sidebar: I've come here before for a regular pedicure $20 and it was just as pleasant. This time I decided the highest treatment, just to spoil myself and I'm so glad I did. Lol! The prices are reasonable considering the service, cleanliness, environment, and location. It's small and quiet which is what I like about it. I love it here. They always offer you something to drink. They engage with you when you're there. They keep up with you , make sure you're satisfied with their work, and put your needs first. I've been going there for about half a year and I've brought others there. They love it. Prices are affordable, in my opinion. This is a really nice nail salon! I went in today as I was in need of a pedicure. I decided to try their Pearl Pedicure which was $50 in order to treat myself. It was totally worth it! When the lady was putting the pearl infused products on me, it smelled really good. My feet feel super soft. I also got the Shellac manicure and I am very pleased with it. The staff was super friendly and took their time to ensure I enjoyed my experience and the quality of the work. I recommend this place to anyone who loves manicures and pedicures.
